Great video and safety tips! I am going to pair the Flex Companion with the Roxon M3 or a Victorinox to free up spaces in the Flex Companion. Bit Driver, D2 blade and diamond file are going to be permanent tools in my Flex Companion. The other 3 slots will rotate. I tried that CaressoLove tool once, but the scissors were dull. You CaressoLove scissors look much better. I've had good luck with the M3 scissors - best small folding scissors on the market IMO.
That's a good point as it is called the companion after all so it would be a good compliment to a Victorinox or another multitool. I haven't tried the M3 but I used to have the M2 and the scissors on those were really good as well.
I picked one up with the discount and I love it. I have a swiss champ and leatherman rebar which I use. The leatherman is perfect for work and the roxon is great for outside work. If you don't need a blade take it off. Don't need a comb take it off. Would I hard use it for work? No. But I find I don't need a 100 tools like the swiss champ. It's good quality and I would recommend even if only for the novelty.
I've been wanting to get the swiss champ (on my edc wishlist). In my short time with the Roxon, my first impressions are favorable. Thanks for commenting!
I just got this tool and am astonished at the quality. It’s right up there with Victorinox I think. I was thinking of getting the Swisschamp then today I saw a cyber Monday deal on the handyman and went for it for just over $50. I don’t need the inline Philips as I’m carrying the companion now and I also don’t need a fish scaler or the magnifying glass.
@axllebeer I didn't realize how useful the 1/4" driver is. It's been great to be able to switch some of the tools for for different settings. Hope you you are enjoying the handyman as well! Thanks for commenting.
Might be just me but I feel like the camera is just a bit too close. It feels a little bit like playing a video game with super low FoV if that makes sense.
ROXON should have implemented the Pen & Tweezers into the Handle Scales like victorinox & other companies have done instead of taking up a slot for those little minor tools .
Only for the US, for the rest of the world it is €62 already for the standard package and then you can only get sets of 3 fixed sets, so not that flexible at all. I calculated that for my need it will be almost €100 for that Money I will get a SAK Handyman and safe half.
Thanks for the info. That's a bummer though you can't go wrong with Victorinox. I've been debating between handyman and swiss champ for myself. Thanks for commenting!
I like all the things that Roxon are doing but the Flex Companion is still quite a way away from replacing something like my Victorinox Ranger. That’s got more than double the tools in the same form factor and it’d be considered a “bulky” SAK. Roxon *do* look like they could give Leatherman a run for their money though.
@ The best thing about the Roxon Flex and Companion is going to be the uniformity of the tools. A big problem that I have with Leatherman is that similar tools are different across different models. It always seems that you have to sacrifice, say, a good pair of scissors if you want a better file or vice versa. Victorinox offer different tool sets but the tools themselves are exactly the same. This’ll be the biggest thing that could push Roxon over Leatherman.

I also got this Roxon on pre order and love it. Love the flexibility and that it’s not a pain to pull out the tools like other multi tools.
Glad to hear! The button/quick access feature is very convenient. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks so much for the feedback! God bless.
I agree, as soon as you open a tool it's out of frame, nice comparison non the less ✌️
There is Swisstech half-leatherman with saw and little scissors
Thanks. I haven't seen those yet but it sounds like it might be a good option!

That is a great idea. Hopefully they think of this for the next update! Thanks for commenting.
That would make the tool a lot thicker, when you could just carry something like a Swiss card in your wallet
@@DrewDragoon I've been wanting to try the swiss card but seems pricey for what it is. Maybe for Christmas!

I agree, it is not a Victorinox replacement but a direct competitor to Leatherman. This is the type of innovation needed in the multitool space.

the lock does nothing at all on my companion
Thanks. Just responded to the other post. Contact Roxon and I'm sure they will help resolve the issue.
