There is something strangely satisfying watching adult children messing about in the river. It is like watching an episode of Last of the Summer Wine lol.
LOL, added to my thoughts exactly.
😂 brilliant....
Lol..exactly😁
Check out people who fossil hunt in rivers, it's that exact energy lol
Deserves an outstanding award 🥇 for best problem-solving, entertaining vlog of the year✨❣️✨
I thought that stone ball was covering the plug hole of the river. As soon as you moved it SWOOSH y'all disappeared down the hole. Lol
B Stapleton 😝 could be the solution to the rising sea level issue, just have to locate the bastard plug
Could be covering the portal to a parallel universe.
I thought it was the plug too.
👍like the way you think pal
I was thinking the same, it would have made looking for anything else in the river a lot easier once it had drained out.
That giant ball would look ever so lovely as the center of a knot garden! Thank you for your wonderful video🤗
Yes it would!
LOL, the excitement of grown kids, the dedication. Love it!
Haha. Thanks
These guys are great.
What a ball breaker of a job lol
Your collective determination and perseverance and resourcefulness is gob smacking 😝
King George Tel and his merry men got the ball rolling! Epic. Thanks for the laughs.
Pleasure!
I’m just imagining Terry in his waders rolling it along the road😆 ‘Nothing to see here, people. Move along please!’🧐🤨😂
Haha!
😂
If Nicola knew you could manage that she would have got you to shift a concrete angel 🤣would have been a walk in the park compared to that mission👍👍👍🍺
Go back with her Simon to get the Angel 😍
@@cheryldurham3560 angel is gone !
jo15518 aww sad bc Nic really loved it.
@@cheryldurham3560 yeah, she done a video of her and a friend going back for it and it had been taken !
We did offer but it had gone almost immediately ☹️
You guys do make me laugh :) Honestly, I thought you would have had a plan of what to do with it after you retrieved it, but no! The retrieving of it was the whole point I guess? Brilliant!
Exactly that! We did it for the challenge and curiosity 😂
They could so they did!!
Awesome Si!! Great Episode
I can't believe I watched the whole thing.
Yeah, I was quite glad you can fast forward on UA-cam as well.
Bravo! Well done! Encore!
Well done guys! That was quite entertaining & a great laugh!! 🇦🇺👍🌻😂
Hi, from Central Texas! When you guys were straining and pulling it up the bank...I was yelling at the phone "come on!!"
So glad you actually got it out.
I really enjoy your videos. Keep on digging!
That Texas Gal !!!
Haha how funny 😂
What is it with American chicks on this channel? Is Si a sexy bastard?
@@gdfggggg well, this American "Chick" is 72 and since you ask, he is rather attractive and his accent, there's just something about it.
Have a good one.
That Texas Gal !!!
@@normablake2748 I knew it 🤣
Thanks for the video that's awesome. 👌 well done for getting it out!!😎🐓🐓🇬🇧
Cheers dude 👍🏻🐾🧡
You guys deserve a medal for pop perseverance 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Always wonderfull watching your Indiana Jones like adventures 🤣🤣 complete with Jungle background and noises. Lets see what Treasure we can find this time.
Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
Aaaand..the treasure is.... sting nettles!!! The gift that keeps on giving! Ouch!
I would happily display that in my garden. I like the various colors & markings left by age & the river water.
Way to go! I would have given up when the first strap slid off. That is definitely one for the record books, congrats to you. Thanks Si for sharing. Can't wait until next week to see what else the rivers offers up.
Thanks Kathi 🐾🧡
Si, you are the most darling young man. I enjoy watching your videos not only for the really cool old finds, but because you are so fun and have such a great personality. Keep it up!!!
What some good ol’ fashioned British determination can’t do! Congrats on a job well done.
Mission accepted 🇬🇧
Tried to lift it couldn’t even shift it, we was gettin’ nowhere and so we ad a cuppa tea! Great work lads 👏🏻👏🏻😂🇬🇧x
pamalou208 Right said Fred... love that song! I played it on a 45 player when I was a kid. The record belonged to my Dad I think.
😂 laughing when you kept saying it would be heavier when out the water😂
I love your energy Si you are so positive and supportive of your fellow larkers. .
You guys are so crazy! I love it!
Oh guys, that was absolutely hilarious, what a way to spend a day larking around with a bunch of mates, Brilliant :)
Exactly the point! It’s all in the journey of discovery
Was that wonderful sphere that you worked so hard to retrieve, dislodged from it's original placement in the ravages of war? Was it cast off in demolition to make room for a new roadway, was it a decorative finial at all? One can only imagine what it is, where it was and how it came to be, resting in a river bed, watched over by doves and tickled by the water's ever flowing turbulence. I love this video. The anticipation was making me crazy, in a peaceful, thrilled to see Si in his waders, kind of way.
Haha, great comment! Thanks Connie. 👍🏻🐾🧡
High fives all round lads, great team effort!
Thanks Paddy! 🐾🧡
Great video Si.It had it all, high tension,I thought a mine was gona come up,suspence, fun, and a full body workout and terry's legs.lol.keep um coming.x
Cheers Deb!! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Great video!!
I really enjoyed watching you satisfying your curiosity and getting it all the way onto the path. I am looking forward to seeing what else you find in the river. Thanks Si, Tel and Mike.
Thanks Debbie!
I'm half-way through this badger and if it turns out to be some one's old yard ornament, I'm coming for you, Si!
What an adventure! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Wow what a find!!!! Love the pics and all the determination!!!
Thanks Karen!

Great show! Your detailed historical facts about the objects is fantastic! Keep on Larking...
One of the best videos you've done 👍 I was shouting yeah!!! When rolled onto the path 🤣
Ah thank you! Had a few negatives so I’m glad it pleased the majority x
The doves are saying “look at these 3 idiots”! Lol I’m totally enjoying this
that was hysterical watching that, best giggle i have had in ages , hooked on your videos thank you.
That river holds promise to lots of unusual things!! Can’t wait to see what you find Si !!
Cheers Mudlover 🐾🧡
Gosh that was fascinating to watch!
Thanks Si and team.
Brilliant recovery mission successfully achieved. 👍👍👍👍👍
Ah thanks. Appreciate that
Fantastic, men!
Can't wait to see you upcycle that Si!!🤣 Brilliant video, thanks
Haha. I wish !!
Is it tree root ends snagging the bags webbing that's holding it up under the weight? That stone 'ball' - it's part of a grand house gate entrance or front/top of house finery. The hole kept it in place on a stone wall sorta thing. Finnials?
Yes!!!!
Spot on Suzy
What a great way to spend the day with friends. Loved to see the humour and enjoyment on your faces even though it was hard work. My husband has started watching your videos now. He doesn’t spend much time in front of the computer or tv but he really enjoys your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a great week and keep safe!
Ah thanks Diann. That’s exactly what the aim was. Have some fun with some friends to complete an objective - even if it took a while! Say hi the Mr McDonald for me 🖐🏻
Brilliant...what better way to spend your day than messing about in the river..well done loved the video
Great video, men in rubber trousers, and a massive ball, what more could you want !!🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌍
You kill me 😂
Whoa that is a massive treasure 😳😍you are so blessed to have friends like that ! If I found anything like that it would stay right there and that's no lie!
Oh that was so exciting just wanted to jump in and help you the best treasure hunt I have seen ever
Thanks Shell. That makes me feel great to hear that!
Absolutely fascinating, and what a thrill! You guys are proper treasure hunters....im so envious!
You guys make me laugh so hard! Great JOB!!!!
Thanks Cindi 👍🏻🐾🧡
Good to know that I’m not the only one who will wear themselves out for a nice ball!
😂
Um... I meant a nice concrete ball...uh, Yard Ornament! Yeah! That’s what I meant! Cheers from Arkansas!😂
Hell yeah, got to have photos. Congrats boys.
Enjoy your channel and Nicola. The longer I view your entertaining comments/finds the easier it is for me (US) to understand 100% of what you said. ☝️
I find myself getting excited, what awesome ancient find will come up next.
Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
You lads are hilarious! I’m glad you managed to recover the huge ball and it wasn’t a bomb!!
Cheers Karen!!
I wish I was there with you on the recovery, that would have been great 👵🏻D
You boys. That was so much work to get that out of the creek, I'm truly impressed! And I enjoyed every moment, while sitting on my soft, comfy couch sipping a G&T. :-)
Ah thanks. Something a bit different this week
Boy, you guys were really on the BALL this morning, LOL!!! You get a big E for effort!!! When they say, "You never know what you're going to find",they're not kidding!!! Very interesting to say the least. I'm all worn out just watching you! Hope all are well & safe!
That sounds like a better catchphrase than Forest Gump. ‘Life is like a Mudlark - you never know what you’re gonna find’!
Love this it would make a great garden feature, brilliant find tfs xx
Indeed it would 👍🏻🐾🧡
Nicola needed your team when she found her angel!
We did offer but it got moved the same day 😫
Pretty cool Si.. here's to some hard work!
Haha. The definition of tenacity. Great find. Thanks!
Thanks G 👍🏻🐾🧡
all the trouble you mates went through impressed me so much I became an instant subscriber
Welcome! Interesting name 😉
That was awesome to watch!!!
Glad you liked it for the sheer pleasure of being curious!
Well done boys! You had me in stitches! 💓
Thank you x
I had the feeling that was what it was....a finial off an entranceway to a mansion or something like that. Good job! Fun watching you guys wrestle that out of the water! An AC/DC song comes to mind....
I was looking forward to this video!!
What a great video.
Aw thanks 🐾🧡
Well this was entertaining! Nice that you found a home for it.
Wow! My back hurt just watching you guys!!!
Terrys complicated spade was born in the same year as me!!! Patsy old git 🤣 awesome video as usual si. Keep em coming. You ‘rock’ 💕
Thanks Patsy
From looking at your knot work Si I doubt you were a boy scout lol. Great vlog....we want moooore
Haha. I was actually. Be prepared was our motto 😎
@@Sifinds would love to see the ball in its new home....photo for us please x you are always prepared lol
Well I'm sure glad it wasn't a bomb! LOL I didn't know river bowling was so big in the UK! TFS Hugs!
Haha! Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
I thought the same about an unexploded bomb! 😱
After floods and landslides last week I finally found my first whole clay pipe bowl, 2 of them. A few nice old bottles and some of the best plant fossils I have found yet. It's been a good mudlark and I'm sure there is more to find 😁
Awesome!!
Hi guys! THANK YOU for what you do! LOVE IT!!!
Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
Amazing find. Love how determine you were. Congratulations
Thanks Dawn!!
I did my first ever mudlark 2 day s ago but didn't have much beginners muck ...now I don't feel so Glum coming home with 3 bits of different white tiles and a square peice of ceramic with a pale blue glaze on it just for its unusual dimensions and it wasn't tile but not off a dinner service Good muck Guys 🤩
I just knew you guys were going to get it out! I've seen Si dig a huge anchor out of the muck for Nic. That one i seriously thought you, Si, were no going to get it out ....but you did it! I have never seen one so determined. You did it Si!
Wonderful guys! Onward and upward ,
you guys on this one
Time for a beer.
Thanks J! 🐾🧡 where there’s a will....
Si, I’m running a little late watching your newest video, but I will say that this was probably the hardest find that I have seen you find. Also congrats on almost 50,000 subscribers!! I can’t wait for next weeks video. I will be here on Sunday morning, I promise!
Cheers Errol! Yes it was a fun challenge!
One year later, 90+ thousand! 😊
Congratulations boys on your epic team work on getting your giant ball in your sack and onto dry land, it was amazing team work xx 😉🤣
Despite the dings and dents, it would still be a great architectural garden ornament!
Awesome video!! What a "ball" of fun!!!😉 Lol!! Can't wait for the next video!!!
Thanks!
when I was a little kid, I didn't really understand what the Elgin Marbles were, I hadn't yet seen photo of them ... I pictured them as very large versions of a child's game of marbles ... exactly like what you just pulled out of the river! haha!
Great teamwork, guys!
Cheers Marcel! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I would totally get a bunch of my friends together to dig something like that out of the river! Thank you for sharing another adventure Si!
Cheers mate. You get it 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Good for you Tom! I'd want it in my garden too!
Lovely piece 2 grace any1s garden. It was huge. Next vid will be just as exciting, looking 4ward 2 it.
Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
That looked like fun. Thanks for sharing.
This is waaay cooler than nowadays popular concrete countertops and sinks
Loved watching this..I was so excited to see the outcome...I was actually shouting at the screen I wish they had brought a great big bag with handles ...then you said let's put it in the bag ! ..😊😊 ..your determination is just fantastic to watch ..great find Si ..❤
Thanks Sam! Glad you enjoyed it 🐾🧡👍🏻
Great show! Love it! Never know what you're going to find! Can't wait for next week!

I thought it might have been a bomb. Then hoped for something alien 👽.
Good job guys!
Haha! Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
😂 😂 😂 just messing about on the river
reminded me off a book we read in junior high
Wind in the willows ( toad ratty & mole-y )
Thanks for the laughs xxx 🇮🇲
Yes!! Thanks you 🐾🧡
GOOD MORNING! from New York👋😊
Hey New York 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
By the way, thanks to you, Nicola and Tom, I discovered the series Digging up Britain, or something like that. Videos of Archeologist digging Anglo Saxon sites, and other places around ya'lls neck of the woods. This and ya'lls channels are the best history classes ever.
I watch those programs too they are called Mistic Britain and they are great fun and nobody seems to take things very seriously .I love that .
Gloria Cox : There are 20 seasons of Time Team here on UA-cam. Same thing, they dig old historic sites in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland. I love it!
‘Britain at low tide’ and ‘River Hunters’ are some more cool programmes to check out 👍🏻
Thank you all for the show suggestions. Hoping I can watch here in the states !
@@suedefringe they are on UA-cam
Awesome video Si!!! Can't wait for next week!
Thanks Mudlover 🐾🧡
Did a great job and that old guy he's smart
What a spectacular effort guys xx
Lol... "All brown bread" dead! I had a few good laughs. Great video as always!
Thanks V! 🐾🧡
