Oh sorry for not comment so much earlier I was busy watching anime and just finished watching anime tonight. Great video as as usual keep up the work
Isn't Muse Asia available in your country?
Something can't be free if you're paying for a way to watch it. I miss the olden days when we could download entire seasons with fan subs from torrents
F*ck Crunchyroll!!!
The most unrealistic part of this aren’t the gates or hunters being in the real world, but the landlord letting him pay rent for only a few hundred dollars while being an absolute bro since he knows Jin Woo’s situation.
Actual fact!!!

Respect to the nurse for shooting her shot when the chance presented itself. Even though narratively we knew she probably had no chance whatsoever it was a good effort.

unfortunately (at least in manhwa), she was one of the "once-appearing" things that were forgotten by the authors, a bit similar to joohee
@@dziugazz Esil Radir says "Hi"
@@Jason_Quinn sad that I had to google her to remember her, but yeah she had potential to be huge plot addition and she was great, but once again, “fuck side characters” - authors
@@dziugazz I think she made an appearance in the manhwa after-story. I really wanted to see more of her.
On the topic of him getting a regular job, it bears repeating that his position as an Association hunter gives him medical coverage, which is what pays for the bulk of his mother's care. He could not get an entry level job with enough benefits to replace that nor that pays enough to make up the difference.
I think ani is talking about why he didnt get a normal job in addition to hunter work to have extra money for food and stuff. There is no great explanation though because any job in the real world would make exceptions for people working as hunters
@@mrperson1324 I don't know about that last part, I don't think employers would make exceptions for hunters, especially not for sung. If one of your employees has to randomly up and leave when he gets a call from the association, are you gonna pick them over someone that can work a full shift reliably?
Maybe in rare instances, where a hunter has attributes that make them much better employees, like great strength for stocking heavy objects or something, then the employer might still find them valuable even if they have to up and go on a moments notice. But a hunter that strong probably wouldn't need a normal, extra job lol.
@@cardboardking181 i have no idea about Korea or even my own country, i i heard that in the United states if a volunteer firefighter is called out, because it is an emergency they HAVE to let them go fight the fire (id imagine that it would be the same because people do get hurt if they don't)
Ah yea that makes sense
@@justdontcare2698 That's right, the government passed a law that mandates firefighters can't be fired from other jobs if they get called up. It applies to a variety of other occupations, such as paramedics, and military reserves as well. The difference being that hunters make absurd amounts of money, while all of those essential emergency responders are generally regarded as underpaid, so it's not as certain that the government would have gone out of their way to support hunters in the same fashion. They might even have avoided doing so deliberately as a small check on the power of hunters, in general. The source material doesn't clarify either way, so it's a bit of a loose end, but it seems safer to assume that if he had that sort of support he would use it, so since he isn't, he doesn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I liked the anime’s version better. He notices throughout it that “something is wrong” but can’t put his finger on it other than the fact that the group didn’t have a healer. There are hints throughout pointing towards something being off with the group. It allowed the viewer to piece together what was wrong with the situation. That way, the betrayal didn’t come out of left field but it wasn’t entirely expected either.
It also made sense to me because the anime set it up so that his high perception was comparatively new, and even it it wasn't he probably hadn't had much reason to interact with backstabbers since being hospitalized. So the unfamiliar feeling to it made a lot of sense to me, his instincts could detect something wrong but lack of experience meant he couldn't pinpoint what.

Omg the Saitama work out routine really DOES turn regular folks into gods lol
No, just him.
@@BoB-th8wmit did for me. Stay in your lane if you’re lazy
Kinda have to justify the physical appearance and the improvement it would be kind wack if he added point's and bam just chad. Even tho its kinda is like that. We know EVERY DAY he does the Saitama work out routine EVERY DAY so him gaining muscle and shit is more than justified.
I think both portrayals have merit. On the one hand, not making the betrayal super obvious adds a bit of suspense, surprise and another reason for our hero to become distanced from being a part of parties, the association and slowly become less naive. On the other hand, if the portrayal is to remain faithful to his stats, then his perception should be high enough to pick up on the deception.
I think he started to perceive it in the Anime. He was looking at them and analyzing the situation. He knew before they got to the boss room that they were thinking about betrayal
The show feels like a 5min episode. I want so much more
That just means the show is that good, if time flies by fast and you want more
Dude. I started reading the Manhwa as the episodes came out and I realized That each episode only covers about 3 chapters at best, I realized there is no way I would be able to stop reading and wait for the next episode! Already on chapter 140 now!
@@sianth2264 The good thing is the manhwa is already finished and goes all the way to the end now, so you won't be waiting for it come out chapter by chapter once a week.
@@geoolympicssolo leveling ragnarok is coming next year, so the story is still ongoing

as a anime only watcher I think the betrayal was hinted so many times it became funny, specifically the last one
"Woops, we forgot the digging equipment, I guess we should all go get- except you- and we'll be riiiight back
To be fair the manwha made it way less obvious
yeah, I saw it coming a mile away
another small detail/change that the anime did was the requirement of 8 hunters for a C-rank dungeon instead of the 10 hunters needed in the light novel and the manhwa. my guess is that it was done to reduce the amount unique characters that needed to be animated, but just wanted to point that out
So this never becomes relevant ever again then
@@LTDLetsPlaysonly one of the eight is important. However, you do see
Gate requirements again down the road
Which change breaks the Camels back?
I much prefer the approach where he was happy about the betrayal. He still saw it coming in the anime. The portrayal of him showing his intelligence of the situation makes him a much more interesting character over bad feeling, oh no it was justified.
The level of thirst among the nurses rose up! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Funny how its's ok when the women, are the ones who're fawning.

I love the spoiler free manga updates. I don't enjoy reading manga so I stay anime only in terms of my consumption, but I still want to know all the lore details of anime I enjoy. It's nice being able to get this week by week instead of waiting for the full season then watching what would have been spoiler videos. I'm sure it's somewhat challenging to avoid giving details that may spoil something later on when making the choice for what to talk about.
If I were to recommend any to someone, it'd be this and Tower of God. The drawings are absolutely insane and you can really imagine the fights as if you were watching it.
Reminds me of Berserk, where the drawings were also on an insane level of detail.
@@Th1sUsernameIsNotTakenalso colored! But nah instead of tower of God i reccomend omniscient readers viewpoint
As an anime only, I felt like the betrayal was foreshadowed plenty, though it would have been cool to see Jin being excited for it.
I honestly like how the anime portrayed the betrayal ,it feels more "real" because i don't think anyone who tries to betray someone would do things like glare or whisper behind the back of said person ,especially if the guy you want to betray has very sharp instincts like Jin Woo .I also like how Jin Woo is at first hesitant about the whole thing and instantly gets pumped up when he realizes he can use the situation to get stronger .
I love how in the mangua he was static to get attacked and take all of them down😂, He was like come at me boy!! I'm him!!
As a manwha reader, your videos make me appreciate this series so much more with the added novel details 💗
Im looking forward to your videos every week!
Sung Rizz UwU
Even having read the manhwa, this anime is still hype af to me, and seeing the weekly uploads from aninews gets me even more hype because he covers parts of the manhwa I forgot about, and even adds detail from the light novel
Emergency Quest incoming! Cant wait!
I like the how the anime did the set up for the back stabbing. However I like how the manwah did it better. They made it as blatantly obvious as possible to see it coming. And Sung was just going to turn the whole situation into a flex.
Anime only fan here, I am enjoying your break downs each and every time, and it's great to get more context to each event to flesh things out a bit. you Even do a great job diving into details that are most likely not really explain is super great depth in the other mediums as well.
This brings me to points of interested I have noticed with some of your break downs of things that the anime does cover in junction with the read material. Most notable you call out that the anime did not portray the statue with as much of a condescending look or that they didn't show this party as ready to do something shady. Now perhaps this could be the fact that though you have seen this stuff shown early and are looking at specifically comparing these events to the ones in the anime and find it too subtle.
If this is the case I would like to assure you that as someone with no prior knowledge of what is going to happen, these ideas are coming across loud and clear in the anime. Heck in the anime you can tell something is up almost from the moment he signs the contract, and definitely have clued in even before they enter the gate.
His point in regards to the statue isn't that it didn't seem that way in the anime, but rather in the Manhwa it's a lot more sinister and intense.
And in the anime w/ the other hunters it shows him not trusting them, but NOTHING like it is in the Manhwa/LN, where you know right from the jump they are evil.
I forgot about the betrayal from the webtoon. I thought the tense appoeach from the anime worked where it was surprise while the blutness from webtoon didnt help with showing how Hunters may interact.
Its a manwha, not a webtoon and this betrayal and him killing them is why greed wants revenge on sung jin woo
@@humanoidfrog4645 I believe webtoons and manhwa can be used interchangeably. I just call the comic adaptation a webtoon due to what format and platform it was released on. I also forgot about how that brother was killed and caused his older one to seek revenge.
Bro that voice crack at the start had me laughing so hard kept me watching the video loved it 😂😂
🥺🥺
I'm an anime only watcher and I found it pretty easy to tell they're going to betray him from the beginning. when they said they didn't have a healer it meant that they'd use somebody as a sacrifice decoy.
Sung rizz woo already made it for me
Nah we waiting for the birth of sung drip woo lol
I feel like I mightve watched a different anime or something cause throughout the episode they made it quite clear that he was on to them almost from the get go. Like on three separate situations he said stuff like this feels wrong or there's something off here. Now sure they didn't show him being excited but It seemed less like it was a surprise that he was betrayed and more that he was surprised with how they betrayed him.
same here there were signs he knew something was off
@@DawnandDuskInci mean his face showed it all the time. He was looking mad throughout the whole episode lmao
He was suspicious of them just didn't know what
Did u even pay attention? He has always throw sus on them from the moment he met them.
Absolutely wanted him to be pumped for the betrayal
From what I noticed the anime did a great job, the slight eyes closure usually indicates the character has some kind of doubt or suspects something's off but don't make it so obvious and when they collapsed the entrance he didn't even flinch, still all adaptations did an amazing job portraying it 😊
Once again, I really enjoy these thanks 🔥
love those little info keep it going ani
i love these videos, keep on uploading them.
after the start of the anime i reread the manhwa and its really interessting to see the differences between the novel, the manhwa and the anime and getting some more information
Yeah, I was wondering about how he suddenly got so buff. I mean they kind of explain it by showing him work out in the anime, but it still felt rushed imo
Episode 6 just dropped and is STRAIGHT UP the best ep so far, one of the best episodes of the year!
Cant wait for your cut content on that!
Thanks for the video man
You deserve far more subs than you have good sir. Excellent work. Love your analysis.
Judging from the reactions of other youtubers that are new to the series, I think the new and surprised look he had was the better decision. Most people from what I've seen genuinely had no clue that something was going on until right before the hunters left the dungeon
Thanks!
I sorta like the tense surprise way; it makes his change of personality more natural than when he was the "Weakest Hunter of Humanity".
Ngl, I do think that in the anime there was enough foreshadowing
Taking "the weakest" and a random new guy that has equipment that costs a lot, always working as a group in dungeons of that type but not completing the roster
It's all weird after all
Great editing
Fr tho, LN Jin Woo feels like a whole different beat compared to the manwha, and anime: he’s cold, calculating, but also did when he needed to to try to survive. (Spoilers after this point)
*spoilers:*
Later, when he starts to doubt the system, he was cold, and questioned everything, being both cautious, but also smart enough to try to get answers whenever he could, like when he went against the Giant king, and before fighting, tried to get info, and trying to descend between truth, and deceit. or whenever he was able to find an intelligent monster, he would try to get whatever he could from it.
He really was a different person, and it was fun to read that.
Thanks for the awesome video. 🙂👍
I've been listening to the ebooks since I couldn't wait for the anime.
I'd say I slightly preferred how he was excited in the books, him stretching knowing what was about to happen was a small badass moment in itself.
You also didn't mention that in the novel he admits he could easily escape the collapsed entrance at any time but instead chose not to as he wanted to fight the boss.
Thanks for all the great cut content videos. One small request, though, could you please make sure to include which episode each video covers in the title? You usually do that, but in this video and a lot of your recent Eminence in Shadow videos you didn't. Having those clear episode numbers is a big deal for anyone either watching only the dub or binging the series later trying to avoid spoilers (one of the major strengths of your videos).
Ima be real, the anime one wasn’t very tense or surprising. Sure, the manner in which they betrayed them wasn’t my first guess but them being betrayed I felt was pretty obvious.
I mean.... Its not supposed to be a plot twist... Jinwoo has been hinting it from the moment he met them. And in the manhwa its far more obvious and they straight up telling us that they're going to betray them.
@@SynergyHD oh yea, I understand it’s much more straight forward in the other forms it was made, just in the anime specifically I didn’t find it to come as a surprise like I felt ani was presenting it as being from the anime only perspective.
I’m pleased with the way it went down in the anime. It seemed like he had an inkling of their intentions and some suspicions of why they didn’t have a full squad.
i lost it in the first 10 seconds with "Sung Rizz UwU"
Why is it that AniNews always does cut content for my favorite shows? It’s like he knows what I want to see.
I actually prefer how the anime did it. It was less obvious, though it was still clear something was amiss. Also, having Sung clueing into it over time kept the suspense up.
Good eye. That nurse maybe unconsciously knew SJ was someone reawakened to be way stronger so she went for it.
Your videos never miss dog gj
For a MC who invested in the sense skill that much he sure was dense about the nurse tho, i feel kinda sad for her
18:34 they didn’t hint at the betrayal in the anime but I had a weird feeling that they would betray him before they even entered the dungeon. First it was the no fighting thing since they didn’t know about his item box, second was that everyone was already super buddy buddy except the two new guys which is a common red flag in any story
Vruhh i couldn't get some food when u uploaded the vid but im here now lol
As someone that found this IP through UA-cam a few months ago when someone started to do show/read/interrupted the manhwa, i was hook. Glad it got the anime treatment.
I feel maybe they are going too fast in the anime, because these vids are very helpfull to understand more of Sung and the world itself. Great vid as always keep up the good work 🔥
Good video
at first, i waz pixxed at the changes,
still am on the begginer design for jinwoo,
but im cool with the reshaping of the story as stated at the end of this vid
as well as this new episode, they shouldnt've dragged that boss fight out, which in turn left us with a horrible cliff hanger where the older dangsuk brother didnt even say his line of wanting to kill sungwoo
Great 👍🏻 video nice 👍🏻 hype!!!!!!!!!!
the anime and manga still had plenty of foreshadowing. And it didn't seem to me that Sung was surprised at all in the anime either.
I wish the anime showed his eagerness more
Thanks for the ad. I already use norn and never tried this.
man these breakdown are great. great scripting
I love your vidz
I read the manhwa and while I do like the way each version portrays the betrayal scene because I feel each is an appropriate and probable response/ attitude for Jin Woo to have taken. I believe that he honestly felt all 3 versions at once. Uneasy, fear, and excited all at once. It makes the scene more intense and real to experience as the reader to read/ watch him go through these changes to not only his body but his mind as well. I would have liked to have seen more of these competing emotions/ thoughts represented in the anime, especially the excited hopefulness at their impending betrayal and the opportunities for righteous counterattack that it would afford him. The feeling of wanting to test his newfound power on a human opponent is something I think would be completely natural for anyone in his position and after his betrayal/ abandonment in the double dungeon and the anger he has pent up from that incident it would make sense that now that he is faced with a similar situation that he would be eager to be able to overcome the situation with his own power and slake his desire for revenge. Overall, one of the best scenes in the story and the scene that I think marks his true “birth” as a new existence capable of meeting impossible situations with composure and resolve.
MC is pretty much going for a build me and my mates dub "the rapid glass cannon"....hits like a freight train going down a mountain but if they get hit they are pretty much done (if being the operative word here because the speed and agility combo makes them hard to actually land a hit on) 😂😂😂
Damn, I didn't like how fast the anime progressed all of that. I'm glad that at least the source material handled it way better than "oh yeah btw he's strong and handsome now"
Nice new vid
I speed ran reading the Manhwa after episode 4. Even finished the side stories/after up to chapter 200. Wasn't any insane life changing like story, but was solid enough throughout. I even liked the After stories that filled some stuff in and expanded heavily on the original ending. Wasn't too long or short, so it didn't overstay the welcome or leave me really hanging.
I definitely would read eventually again down the line, and if available to buy officially the full Manhwa in English, I probably will eventually pick it up. I hope the anime gets a second season as I don't see it finished in 12 episodes unless a lot is cut way too much... I assume the first season might end just when Jin Woo existence is recognized by a few S ranks in Korea, perhaps. If the next few don't skip/speed run.
that nord VPN ad go crazy
You kind of need the eager part from the manga because later that dude becomes an army and he is a don't cross me type of person.
I liked the surprise betrayal. I think there was a tone the leader had when he said something to Sung that hinted something was up though. It's also still a bit unclear to me why they betrayed him like that. Like wouldn't they still need to kill the boss if they wanted the mana stones? Also Sung isn't legally allowed loot anyways so why leave him behind?
they wanted to steal that boys equipment
❤️ brilliant
Definitely the eager betrayal!
I've never seen the manhwa but i like it more than the anime. The eager anticipation of what will happen.
Same. I'm more fan of anime, but not this one.
By the pasing of anime, i decided to look up manhwa and i can tell it will be 3-4 seasons (or less = will be cut by a lot if so) + 1 movie ++ mini-series explaining about ending and how things went on.
So the wait anime to fully complete isn't worth it.
@@cypexlvof course its not , you'd have to wait at bear minimum a few years while most people like me would like the manhwa more anyway. The manhwa is from a korean art style and the anime is japanese so it wouldn't give the same impact.
@@Burago2k I understand that it's not gonna be same, but by the looks of it (i watched 4 episodes) i can tell that animation is weak, it's not a mediocre B-type anime either a big one that was somewhat "hyped".
I'm mostly for anime that manga, but for this specific one i decided to read/watch at manghwa than anime, and i'm glad.
I like that the betrayal didn't felt super obvious in the anime, but I like both version in general. It's sad that the nurse never shows up again, but side characters tend to be forgotten in this series, can't wait for next episode regardless
Hey man not gonna lie I need that ep6 breakdown/missing content.
I have definitely taking the novel version. He's all like bet. Let's do it.
i knew in the anime as soon as sung started to wonder why there wasnt a hero but they were so confident that there would be a betrayal
I completely forgot about the thirsty nurse. I wonder if they ever talked after He left the hospital.

If you plan to do his daily training for yourself, just know that you might want to also do pull ups because push-ups, squats, and sit ups don’t let you get exercise for a certain group of back muscles
I forget the video, but you can look it up online, this guy did those exercises for a really long time, and his back muscles were all out of shape compared to the rest of his body
liking the anime take so far
in the anime there wasn't tension. The anime portraied the betrayal by Sung expressions in logic.
The problem with being surprised by the betrayal is that despite removing all the foreshadowing, it still feels obvious what's about to happen but he spends a good 10 minutes trying to figure it out.
I would have preferred some more awarenss of what was coming in line with his improved tactical analysis abilities. I feel that having the calm acceotance of the betrayal when it finally happened (amplified by the corresponding panic and bewilderment of offset by Yoo Jinho), rather than when the dungeon boss awakens, would be more appropriate. As it is, I feel that his delight was more indicative of being able to fight the boss, whereas I feel acknowledging the betrayal has better ongoing story potential now that you have pointed it out. For something that is almost certainly going to feature in a futire episode, it seemed to lack the weight intended. Wheras we know he will beat the boss (it's the fallout from doing so which will be far more interesting).
Novel approach, the original one
I want the evil version of him. That looks like a lot more fun.
I feel like the betrayal was foreshawdowed enough in the anime. When he got the contract, Sung was already suspicious of the party due to not having a healer, and he remarked on how weird it was that a group that coordinated didn't have a full party throughout the dungeon. It was very clear he knew something fishy was going on. And I think the reaction of anger was also justified since he is still dealing with the betrayal of Kim from the other dungeon.
Can we get an extra episode on these cut scene.
Probably eager, but that’s just because I like the more ruthless type of protagonists.
Sung is leveling up the Rizz! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The anime sequence of events feels more satisfying; would you really want to see the buff version struggling against the instance dungeon?
His soft, innocent look made him more of an underdog that has to rise up before rizzing up.
