SPOILERS AHEAD, a correction in the information in the video The Architect is not the massive smiling statue but the smaller one next to it which held the commandments.
12:57 I feel the need to correct that part about "speed" and add a few things myself without trying to spoil too much. In regards to "Agility", the stat only increases the speed of his senses and the speed of his overall perception and not the speed of his actual physical movement. (it is made apparent in the novel) In actuality, the "Strength" increases his overall physical attributes, *including his physical speed* [So, it is the "Strength" stat that actually increases his speed thus making him faster and not the "Agility" stat] and that being the prime reason as to why Sung Jin Woo focused on raising both his "Strength" and "Agility" stat more than his other stats (at the beginning) because the two types of stats pretty much go hand in hand. (If I recall correctly, it was stated that after putting sufficient points into "Agility", he noticed that the wolves that he fought at the beginning started to look like as though they were moving in slow motion) The "Sense" stat is one that sharpens his senses and his intuition in determining the strength of his enemies. He occasionally put points into the "Sense" stat at every chance he got when the gap between this stat was too high with his two main stats (Strength and Agility). At the beginning, when he was hunting in the first dungeon, (in regards to Sung Jin Woo sensing the danger of the Boss, it was described as mere tingles when his "Sense" stat wasn't so high and the more he leveled up, the more he felt just how dangerous the Boss was. The other stats aren't as direct in correlation with what they're being described as. For example, the "Intelligence" stat didn't really increase his memory nor his mental processing speed either, however it did increase his overall Mana and the strength of his abilities/skills while the "Vitality" stat increased his HP and his overall endurance while, as far as I remember and please do correct me if I am wrong, not increasing his actual defenses against physical and magical attacks. (Only "Equipment" type of items being the ones to do so, such as helmets and plates, to name a few) *Note that at the beginning* , Sung Jin Woo ignored these two stats (Intelligence and Vitality) for the reason being that he had seen no effect in raising them. Especially "Vitality", as a stat in the way that it worked, seemed to be inefficient and counter productive with his "min-maxing" strategy of raising "Strength" And "Agility". For he saw "Vitality" being pointless to increase his HP when "Strength" and "Agility" helps him avoid getting hit altogether in the first place. *A small side note* Sung Jin Woo's experience with the increase in stats felt exponential to him and not linear. Meaning that with each increase in level, the growth that he experienced wouldn't have a noticeable fixed increase in potency, but he did feel a stronger and stronger effect each time with the increase in his stats. [So, to make perhaps a rather poor example. The Sung Jin Woo that had 40 "Strength" would feel a 10% increase in overall strength when he increases the stat to 41 "Strength" compared to 40 "Strength" and then he would feel an 11% increase in his overall strength when he increases that to 42 "Strength" compared to when he had 41 "Strength" and so on] *min-maxing refers to a concept in games of only raising/maximizing desirable skills/abilities/stats while ignoring/minimizing everything else. So, yes, that results in a character that is very, very strong in a particular area, while being very weak in everything else. Even though it may seem like a pretty risky thing to do, experienced and creative players usually compensate that choice with a particular strategy or play style that complements it while avoiding the weaknesses at the same time.
Solo leveling wasn't really meant to be new and original in terms of archetype, it's more so ground breaking in terms of its approach to the archetype. Kind of like how chainsaw man follows the bleach/yut hakusho formula, but it's so loved and viewed as refreshing because Denjis motivations and actions are completely different from Yusuke and Ichigo.
One comment, the 5 free stat points are not from leveling, they are from the daily quest. The daily quest gives 5 free stat points, a full recovery, and a random item box that contains mundane items that tend to be randomly useful. I don't remember him being able to stock up on full recoveries either. Lastly, while he can level up in the quest punishment, doing so increases the difficulty of further punishments. This isn't explicitly shown, but the system does outright say this.
Once you start reading solo leveling you can't stop! I saw that they starting adding more chapters....I need a fact check! We need a deep dive on this asap!
Nick, I KNOW you won’t see this, and I’m just screaming into the void, but this show/story haas become my new obsession and I would KILL if it meant you would make an in depth explanation of EVERYTHING that Jin Woo Sung can do. If there’s any chance you see this, PLEASE DO IT! I plan to do the same, as I have a notebook and a lot of free time, but you’re a lot smarter than me and you would probably pick up on things that I wouldn’t be able to. Overall, please, I would really appreciate it. :)
You should really consider that you are watched by people who are watching the anime. Unveiling such in-depth information is a huge spoiler for many. I would strongly recommend splitting your content between Anime speed and WebToon speed. Do not mix the two since you are giving too much spoilers for many that haven't read the WebToon at all. Or to those who have read some of the WebToon but not all of it.
Agreed, this was firmly manhwa and light novel territory and since a lot of new fans are coming in after watching the first 2 episodes this will definitely be a massive spoiler a 'Manga spoilers' warning in the title would've gone a long way.
System questions. One how does he provide clothes for his party in the red gate through system purchases? Two would he have gotten the same class no matter how he did in the class quest? Three, if he has the power to revive himself 100% innately within him. Why not use that in his final battles?

I really love how the System is implemented in this story: 1) I love that Sung has to do a quest everyday or be sent to the Punishment Zone... though at his higher levels he probably only avoids this if he doesn't feel like it and can finish his daily exercise quest in 5 seconds. But either way it's a requirement. 2) I love that it's not just about Jin-Woo leveling and bam, OP. It's gradual and while he does get a general stat boost to all stats when he levels, it's all about where he allocates the bonus stat points from every level. Like every rpg gamer ever, he has to decide on a build that fits him! Makes me wonder what my build would be if I had access to Sung's System. Same gish rogue necromancer or something else? 3) The inventory system is pretty cool and I like how it's not only Sung that has access to a magic inventory. All Hunters seem to have it. One of the characters from the 1st arc draws his sword from hammerspace in his stomach. 4) Going back to the build idea, I forgot to add that the fact that he gets special Perks is pretty awesome too. And how the perks he's able to choose from are based on what he actually does and not just random makes it more personal too.
The reason system makes it a question of to kill ppl who want to kill him is he has shown many times he would use a teleportation stone, especially in the beginning of the story
They say the essence stones are used to power cities and they use them when they make weapons. They use parts of monster bodies and the stones infuse stuff with magic also. That’s their only use.
3 episode is out already and for the Manhwa SL is up to 180, but there is more after it, I will not spoil of what's it's about its up to you if you want to read the Manhwa :)

Status recovery reward from daily quest isn't stackable. He's only able to use it once. If he gets another status recovery reward from another daily quest, it just essentially overwrites the existing reward. Spoiler alert, otherwise, he'd use it numerous times against the 3v1 monarch battle before he got his full power.

My one question (which may or may not be explained I have only watched the anime so far) is why the system doesn’t just give him all the power instantly other than just it making a bad story
spoilers below Heres what i dont understand in the manhwa, when the architect made the system he made it so he could find a vessel for ashborn right? but the system makes someone grow which was sung jin woo. How was the architect able to design the ability to make someone grow when in the solo leveling verse nobody can go past their chosen potential. If the architect was able to make a system ability like that why didn't have make it for himself so he didn't die? someone if you can help me find this answer.
His summons aren't clones of the defeated enemies, they're the actual entity controlled by Jin woo's powers. Spoiler alert. This is evident when that retired S rank healer got extracted by Jin Woo to save Cha Hae In on Jeju Island. Also how Iron fell in love with Jin Woo on the post reincarnation arc.
Spoiler for anime onlys - only read if you’ve read the light novel or manhwa. Jinwoos doesn’t really have a second awakening, not like everyone else. Normal second awakening have people instantly jump up ranks, and then they’re stuck at that new rank. Whereas jinwoo stayed the same rank, but he inherited part of Ashbourne power in the form of the system. The system allowed jinwoo to gain Ashborn power slowly so that it wouldn’t overload his body and kill him. Ashborn was initially going to then take over jinwoos body which would then allow him onto earth, because if he tried to go onto earth straight away with all his power at once it would be destroyed because Ashborn was too powerful, same goes for Antares But Ashborn didn’t take over jinwoos body, and instead allowed jinwoo to choose who would become the new shadow monarch, as they are initially he same person because they share the same power which allows for shared experiences. Jinwoo chooses to keep fighting, and then replaces Ashborn as the shadow monarch
I love how as long as Jinwoo is there the dungeon is safe, whether he be E rank or S rank

(Only "Equipment" type of items being the ones to do so, such as helmets and plates, to name a few)
*Note that at the beginning* , Sung Jin Woo ignored these two stats (Intelligence and Vitality) for the reason being that he had seen no effect in raising them.
The Sung Jin Woo that had 40 "Strength" would feel a 10% increase in overall strength when he increases the stat to 41 "Strength" compared to 40 "Strength" and then he would feel an 11% increase in his overall strength when he increases that to 42 "Strength" compared to when he had 41 "Strength" and so on]
*min-maxing refers to a concept in games of only raising/maximizing desirable skills/abilities/stats while ignoring/minimizing everything else. So, yes, that results in a character that is very, very strong in a particular area, while being very weak in everything else. Even though it may seem like a pretty risky thing to do, experienced and creative players usually compensate that choice with a particular strategy or play style that complements it while avoiding the weaknesses at the same time.
What a main character who has a unique ability that makes them the strongest that so new and original
*SPOILER WARNING AHEAD*
Its not really his power i mean it was just a god watching him and picking him to take over to clap some other gods asses.
This isn't explicitly shown, but the system does outright say this.
spoiler/correction: he can share items from the shop. buys coats and gives them to people in a cold dungeon.
Thanks for the explanation means a lot and work put into it is much appreciated
Have you ever heard about Classroom of the elites? I guess you will become addicted to this anime
Love that anime. The new season just started
This was a really good video to introduce people into the anime without outright spoiling anything. Great video dude
i disagree it spoiled a lot of mager events of the story in random parts of the video especially with also the image of Jinwoo's lvl images and rank later on + the end game stuff
@Ticking-time-bomb Watch at your own risk. Please read the title and think to yourself to use your brain cells even if you have one not having you have one no hate peace.
THIS comment actaully was uncalled for even if it'ss to say it's obvious it got spoilers. And Thank you for yr comment I read the whole Manwha so I didn't get spoiled but for anime only's that's mager spoilers they don't need especially for those who genuilly want to get a better understanding of the power system.@@tadanemarkbaker7157
The big statue is actually not the architect
Thanks for informing me correctly
I was reading solo leveling pre chapter 50 now I got my favorite anime UA-camr making videos on it
Very cool explanation and the energy you have in contagious
I really love how the System is implemented in this story:
1) I love that Sung has to do a quest everyday or be sent to the Punishment Zone... though at his higher levels he probably only avoids this if he doesn't feel like it and can finish his daily exercise quest in 5 seconds.
And how the perks he's able to choose from are based on what he actually does and not just random makes it more personal too.
so basically every isekai anime got u
This is a very good video if you already read the manwa.. if you haven't i highly suggest skipping. Unless you don't mind the spoilers.
Soooo he’s essentially “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” manifested… very cool!
Love that bases on RPG as if playing game with that system watching the anime feels like watching a playthrough for fantasy
I been waiting for this for years
Yeah.
11:14 if he completes his daily quest he becomes Saitama 😂
Nick, that guy on the picture isn't Oda 😅.🎉 That's Eiji Aonuma the chief producer of Legend of Zelda games. We don't have a new picture od oda.
Definitely thought those pictures of the architect were Kenpachi 😂
In another world with my smartphone has plenty of source for more episodes but they're not making more so idk if id get to attached to that length of time being applied to solo leveling just sounds overly generous on that front is all love ya commander keep up the awesome work!
Oh my gosh all the icons on your computer desktop. That would drive me nuts, I’d have to put it into folders.
Hearing you call him Jin-Woo Sung is weird. Just go with the regular Sung Jin-Woo
Agreed. Even though the way he is saying it makes sense in the western world, how we read it, it’s Sung Jin Woo lol
Should we start saying Uzumaki Naruto? Or midoriya izuku? Or Hanma Baki? No because it’s not how you say it 😂🤣😂🤣
@@Monkey.D.Uno. I thinks it's better to just say it how everyone says it
You should analyze power system of Shaman King.
this story is not complex at all. it’s rlly basic. it’s only nuance is it being a mangua. definitely still gonna watch for some cool fight scenes tho.
incorrect a little bit, yes Ashborn was og a Ruler, but he later became a Monarch, and is still
I mean basically handed power twice I wonder could the destruction thingy be handed off aswell
Watching your solo leveling videos cuz I read all of the light novels and the slight difference are so strange sometimes 😂
Status recovery reward from daily quest isn't stackable. He's only able to use it once. If he gets another status recovery reward from another daily quest, it just essentially overwrites the existing reward. Spoiler alert, otherwise, he'd use it numerous times against the 3v1 monarch battle before he got his full power.
i absolutely love all your videos, would love to see you branch into "that time i got reincarnated as a slime". you have probably already watched it but id love to hear you explain how the power system works and the political side of the show.
The architect isn’t the massive statue they all assume to be the god described in the tablet. It’s actually the angel statue holding the tablet.
Great video! Thank you!
i wished they had a rpg pen and paper game of solo leveling
11:20 the daily quests also give free stats to place where he wants
"He would have to pour it in my mouth...which...im ok with.."
IM DEAD💀💀💀💀💀
Great video 👏

-The Manhwa is described as such;
ln this world where Hunters with various magical
Powers battle monsters from invading the defenceless humanity, Sung jin-Woo was the weakest of all the Hunters, barely able to make a living. However, a mysterious System grants him the power of the 'Player' Setting him on a course for an incredible and often times perilous Journey. Follow Sung jin-Woo as he embarks on an adventure to become an unparalleled existence through his "Level-Up" System - the only one in the entire world!
Love the world of Warcraft comparison!
He goes from Sung Jin-woo to Hung Jin-woo! 😏
K. As the strongest Hunter in Korea.
Whenever Nick says its kind of a spoiler but not really... just know its definitely undoubtedly about be a very detailed spoiler.
For real. 😂
Might consider that be good for health and it's considerate too give too fans glad ur health is better from it
I dont think "The one who triumphs" works like that.
Isn't it that he gets a 1% increased stats for every 1% lost health? Like... TEMPORARILY?
Being that if he has, for example, 200 strength and he is in 50% health, then his strength goes up by 50%, effectively being 300, but goes back to 200 when he heals.
If interested in other manwha series I would read Tower of God (incredible imagination), UnOrdinary (one of my favorites), or Omniscient Reader. These are must reads if you like stuff like this IMO!
wait, what? he literally makes his money buying things from his shop with gold and selling them at the auction house for Won....
Talk about the summons
The amount of restraint it took him to not terribly spoil us is remarkable, you can tell he really wanted to lol
I hope theyll make a My Vampire System anime some day 😭 its similar to solo leveling and its so freakin good
Solo Leveling sounds a lot like a web novel called "My Vampire System"
I still love that there isn’t a single video that I’ve watched where nick doesn’t say myriad 😂
This is very similar to another Korean webtoon or manhwa, called “The Gamer”. I never finished that but Solo Leveling seems to be very close.
Full recovery, not status refill, and full recovery recovers all stats at once not just one
Cool. In with his stats.
Why does he sound like a professional narrator 🤔 on god I swear I heard his voice in a game opening scene or some fire anime.
My one question (which may or may not be explained I have only watched the anime so far) is why the system doesn’t just give him all the power instantly other than just it making a bad story
spoilers below
Heres what i dont understand in the manhwa, when the architect made the system he made it so he could find a vessel for ashborn right? but the system makes someone grow which was sung jin woo. How was the architect able to design the ability to make someone grow when in the solo leveling verse nobody can go past their chosen potential. If the architect was able to make a system ability like that why didn't have make it for himself so he didn't die? someone if you can help me find this answer.
Here we go
So basically Jin Woo is playing the full game while everyone else is playing the demo
So he can replace the shadow monarch
Also his second awakening is he doesn’t stop leveling up
Spoiler for anime onlys - only read if you’ve read the light novel or manhwa.
Ashborn was initially going to then take over jinwoos body which would then allow him onto earth, because if he tried to go onto earth straight away with all his power at once it would be destroyed because Ashborn was too powerful, same goes for Antares
But Ashborn didn’t take over jinwoos body, and instead allowed jinwoo to choose who would become the new shadow monarch, as they are initially he same person because they share the same power which allows for shared experiences. Jinwoo chooses to keep fighting, and then replaces Ashborn as the shadow monarch
I cant stop reading after i watched all the videos on this page and the first 2 episodes.
Gitta say i binged the first for episodes and dayum this show looks cook
Never read the manga but going into the show I knew his death had to be a trigger so he could gain the system ability
“Id let happen “ got me lol
I would max out my def and buy high def equips and recieve 1 damage from enemies😂
