At the north end at 15:20 the former chemical/pharma works used to be the Queenborough Pier and railway station constructed by Zeeland Lines and opened 1860. Custom House and warehouse were located on the T shaped pier and many pages online cover the early pier history. Freight service ceased in the mid 1950s. Maps in the 60s show track sidings removed and mostly disused land. Pier cottages on the north side demolished when redeveloped as chemical works. In 2021 articles noted interest in rebuilding the pier. From 2023 article DJ cited, appears the pier plans fell through and to be redeveloped as industrial. The large Aesica factory is constructed on former marsh land and still undeveloped after WW2. In the 1950s a causeway was constructed with drains on each side where the older long building is situated then angled to the left to a new slipway seen at 14:40 top left. The main factory building was constructed about mid 1960s. Queenborough Wall is a public footpath running along the river then through the CEVA Logistics site following the former mud flats. Awesome chats and great views of the area, mostly marsh in the '45 aerial photo! ⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
What a lovely local couple, full of information and very friendly with it, not the usual "you are not from round 'ere are you?!" brigade. Sound security guy too, a little cagey but had a good sense of humour. All in all, another great video DJ.
4:27 It's quite important to keep security even for an empty building. I used to work for a company that has many warehouses. One of them had been empty for close to a year when I was put in a team that temporarily was operating from that warehouse. In the time it wasn't in use, people had come in and stripped most of the copper. CCTV wasn't working, smoke alarms didn't all work, some electrical systems were gone, shutters had to be operated manually, and some had been bolted shut since the break in, so it caused significant damage to the property.
What a lovely area full of lovely people. Good advert for the town! Makes a change from being in Gillingham where everyone’s opening gambit is “not allowed”.
Sercurity man good old Black Country lad from my neck of the woods good down to earth folk couple at the end nice Friendly couple thanks for the info 😊 Good video DJ thank you
Recipharm bought quite a few sites belonging to Aesica including a large one in Holmes Chapel Cheshire and Cramlington in the North East. They also closed an old site near Oldham. I installed software in all of them.
What a lovely gentleman he was, a breath of fresh air to see someone so chilled out, Hats off to you sir ;-) He liked the Kermit permit too 😂👍 DJA you hit the jackpot there with those two wonderful local people who worked at that plant, you just can't beat local knowledge ;-)
I watch urban explorers and they don't damage anything, they don't steal anything either most explorers find an open window , they don't break in , trespass is a civil offence not criminal .😊
DJ you're awesome, seen every video you've posted, enjoy them all, hate seeing you have to get physical especially with the numpty getting too close to the drone, keep doing what you're doing! Love that you have an answer for everything. AB was my favourite, you've taken the spot with Kermit 🤣
Security was nice enough, but I like looking up meanings of tattoos with Chinese characters, looks like he has 不朽的勇士 which is something like "immortal warrior", interesting.
Great security man, one of the best yet, lovely people with lots of experience and information. I would not want a house built on that site as by the look of those gates there is a serious flooding risk.
Whenever I see a site like this. I automatically think of the TV Show *"The Walking Dead"* Thinking it would be a great place to secure and hide up in. ha ha ha
He seems okay but the lights weren't fully on. is it so hard to believe that someone may want to talk and see the world with their eyes than rely on the their phone 24/7? Loved the Kermit Permit!
He took the Kermit the permit gag well. 😂
You are beautiful
Us blokes Love it when someone can take the gag
I liked that guy. Fair play to him
Lovely couple at the end. Its nice when you have this sort of engagement.
That lady is a font of knowledge and sharp!
I like that you only carry a small bag and almost half of the carry capacity is allocated for a stuffed Kermit toy!
🤣🤣🤣
The older couple were awesome! ❤
Lovely couple and very informative.
🐸
Agreed, and as they were leaving we heard those rare words: Thanks for the keyring! 👍
Good natured & friendly, all the way! Everyone here has emerged with 'real credit'!!😊😊
What a nice guy and a lovely couple
Great security guy… that’s how to deal with people….
K E R M I T - DJ has just owned the internet for a day
This chap was quality. He seems old school to me too. Top fella to him. Kudos

Good info cheers 👍
Permit the Kermit is back 😁 yayyy 👏😊
Good to see that security was sound, he did enjoy the kermit gag. Probably will tell a few friends, and then realise how famous he will be on UA-cam.
What a lovely local couple, full of information and very friendly with it, not the usual "you are not from round 'ere are you?!" brigade. Sound security guy too, a little cagey but had a good sense of humour. All in all, another great video DJ.
Bang on guy down to earth
Nice video as always DJ, good security guy and the lady was lovely and informative with what she had heard.

The locals were exceptional.

Good one DJ security man really good well done young man, the couple at the end 🌟 of the show thank you for the information.
Great video DJ I used to collect tablets out of there they were a pain in backside 😜
Is it me or did that guy just want to argue everything you said?? Good to see Kermit though 😁😁👍👍 thanks DJ and thanks Kermit🤣🤣🤣
Probably had a few beers and was bored and needed someone to chat to....DJ was his perfect match😂
I thought so too.
I wasn't sure if he was extremely unknowledgeable or if he was just being a bit of an ar5ehole.
I love it.. dj: I'll ask a member of the public
2 members of the public walk by and just so happens to know a good bit about the place... perfect...
What a lovely area full of lovely people. Good advert for the town! Makes a change from being in Gillingham where everyone’s opening gambit is “not allowed”.
Lol always love the kermit one lol 😂😂😂😂
I like these nice 1s now and again. Dj tried a little press on security bit he did very well. And the locals were lovely
Sercurity man good old Black Country lad from my neck of the woods good down to earth folk couple at the end nice Friendly couple thanks for the info 😊
Good video DJ thank you
Seems a good, normal chap at the start. Level headed, legitimately curious instead of power tripping. 'With my lack of teeth'. 😂
Well done all.
Recipharm bought quite a few sites belonging to Aesica including a large one in Holmes Chapel Cheshire and Cramlington in the North East. They also closed an old site near Oldham. I installed software in all of them.
What a lovely informative couple.
He was polite but not helpful as he's only security. Helpful passer by. Great information xx
You came across a good old black country boy on his jollies.
Loving the kermit, can't wait for a fozzie bear....
“All seems a bit odd”, DJ: “Thank you” 😂😂
Kind couple, very respectful and responsive,we need more, got my respect, nice 1 dj
Security was friendly enough and had a sense of humour should have given him a keyring
I did 👍
Lovely local couple with lots of historical knowledge
Decent video that pal, lovely to see old Kermit back again
What a lovely gentleman he was, a breath of fresh air to see someone so chilled out, Hats off to you sir ;-)
He liked the Kermit permit too 😂👍
DJA you hit the jackpot there with those two wonderful local people who worked at that plant, you just can't beat local knowledge ;-)
If they've kermitted a crime 😂
😅😅😅
Great stuff - not seen Kermit come out for ages
Good post DJ, love that bloke and good to see Kermit!
Youve got a kermit to fly it and miss piggy is laughing.
Is that Kermit the permit 🤣
Indeed, He has a Kermit to fly his drone.
The 2 lovely people at the end made the video. Great video DJ🎉
Lovely couple, if the queen went there, it must have been very important to the community- sounds like many people have lost their job over the years.
Nice couple at the end talking about the history of the place
Those 2 lovely people really made that for me, enjoyed that so much ❤
What a nice couple, a mine of information!
Very very very interesting ❤
Great security dude. If only they were all that good at their job and as chill a guy.
Brilliant today. All of it 👌🏴
Wow that place is huge, the flooding there will be amazing in a few years 🫤😉.
Great to see a vid of friendly people being happy 👍❤️🇬🇧
Come on DJ he was a genuine nice guy, you could have cut him some slack. Not everyone wants to argue with you.
Professional Security 👌 he even understood the Kermit Joke .. Good Job 👍🏻
Loved the Video Dj . Wat a great Couple there too . See u tomorrow
Top bloke.
I like that security guy, he's awesome, thanks DJ for giving us videos, brilliant of you sir
Lovely people around a lovely area 👏👏
Great video 👍
I'm from the island and remember Abbots from when I was little but that couple have a wealth of knowledge ❤️
My uncle spent his entire working life there until the closure
I watch urban explorers and they don't damage anything, they don't steal anything either most explorers find an open window , they don't break in , trespass is a civil offence not criminal .😊
Not quite. There is such a thing as criminal trespass. It is an offence, since 2012, to trespass in residential property.
I love to see the Kermit or the dummy coming out 😂
DJ you're awesome, seen every video you've posted, enjoy them all, hate seeing you have to get physical especially with the numpty getting too close to the drone, keep doing what you're doing! Love that you have an answer for everything. AB was my favourite, you've taken the spot with Kermit 🤣
Great security guard, handled it very well 👌🏻
Cautious as she should be but friendly and professional
I love our small little island, we're so laid back 😂
Nice to see a great guy for once top man 👌
Just been to find the keyring and it was already gone! I need a keyring!!
Security was nice enough, but I like looking up meanings of tattoos with Chinese characters, looks like he has 不朽的勇士 which is something like "immortal warrior", interesting.
Great interaction 👍 great video 👏
Very nice guy and a pleasure to see Kermit the permit make an appearance!
Love a friendly local, well done you two!
Yo kermit the permit!...lol......Good to see he's back! 😂
I worked there as a contractor a few years ago. Didn't realise it had closed down.
I think it's the former Abbott Laboratories site before aesica. If so my uncle spent his whole working life there and my cousin lost her job there too
You got all the props 🐸😂
Reggie has a few more 😊
Love it 🐸🐸🐸
That couple seems to know what's what! I could listen to them talk all day. They need their own UA-cam channel! I would subscribe.
Great security man, one of the best yet, lovely people with lots of experience and information. I would not want a house built on that site as by the look of those gates there is a serious flooding risk.
Whenever I see a site like this. I automatically think of the TV Show *"The Walking Dead"* Thinking it would be a great place to secure and hide up in. ha ha ha
Genuine chap - such a delight particularly his reaction to Kermit!
