Could you recommend any food or brands for large breed fur babies?
Our Berner lived to be a month shy of 13 and never had a health problem. I fed her Science Diet Large Breed Adult. My son feeds the same thing to his and Atlas is 5 now, doing great. Thanks for watching! I appreciate. I’ll try and answer anything I can.

That's one of the biggest red flags there is! My pet peeve is when companies use the term protein when they mean animal protein source. I knew this company is a no-no when they mentioned "premium protein" instead of "organic" animal protein source, I don't think the dog's GIT would care because proteins are proteins!
Thank you so much for making these great videos. I am on the hunt for my picky eater, 2 morkie. I did the calculations between jinx and health extension also grandma mae’s dry dog food. I can’t believe how high the grandma brand of calcium and phosphorus are. I also reached out to health extension asking the exact number not the min or max percentages on their label. They responded really quick, I am happy about their customer service.
@@PetFoodPuzzleGuyAnother question : since you have small dogs you would know they are picky, sometimes we can pick the good food for them but they won’t even touch it. What do we do about that?
@@yannaren8680 I’ve always had big dogs who ate anything so yes, it is s challenge with little ones. I use dry but pour some boiling water in and let it set. Bella at 13 firs t have many teeth so they both seem to like it better that way. But then other days they’re happy with dry. Their eating schedule is not very fixed so some days the heat really well, other days not so much. I keep some canned for special occasions too!

Never heard of this food before, but I just wanted to let you know I practically cried laughing at the part about your daughter and her friends preferring Chris Evans over Chris Hemsworth (Thor). Hemsworth is my husband’s “man crush”, and I don’t find him particularly attractive at all so we have had that same discussion 😂 It sounds like I’m about the same age as your daughter. I was never a big Marvel fan myself, more of a DC girl. Although they have been blowing it in the film scene ever since Christopher Nolan stopped being involved.

Another reason to ignore the ingredient labels. A study by the University of New Mexico investigated six dog food brands. All six contained from 12 to 17 ingredients NOT listed on the label. Also, several brands did not contain some ingredients that were listed. The study did not name the brands. Your FDA is on the job! LOL
That’s a handful out of about 2500 brands! They should have released the names! With no accountability, you know it’s not good. And the govt running it? Yeah, like the way they handled Covid?
@@PetFoodPuzzleGuy I'm going to take a wild guess, they did not use the six smallest brands. The U of New Mexico did the study. It was published in January 2023. Two of the brands contained dog DNA. They probably could not disclose the names for legal reasons. In 2022, Mars Inc. spent $1.4 million on lobbying. (Amazon and Meta spend over $9 million) Individual employees of Mars contributed $104,804 to various Democrat candidates and groups.

@@JayRoberts244 well, I have come to believe I can’t trust my govt, financial institutions, the police, child services, human doctors, etc so I get your point. There seems to be no real accountability and it seems it’s on purpose. I suppose you look at the reputation of the company. Do they have board certified nutritionists and chemists? Do they spend their money on research and produce peer reviewed studies probing the nutrition of their products? Ironically it’s only the Big 3 that can make such claims. But now pet food marketers demonize those guys and promote silly philosophies and play ingredient games with pet parents… and their nutrients get worse and worse! That’s the sad ironic fact! You can cook for your pet but you have to trust the recipe comes from sleek e qualified to design it. I guess it always comes down to s question of trust.
