Hey Liam... You don't need to do all that finger gymnastics. You just need to enter track setup once and with track priority enabled or press a pad for 2 sec of different tracks, you can quickly change settings, no need to do all that contortion :D Same with Step Sub Menu, just double press Step Chord twice, and step sub menu page will always be on, making it easy as hell to change stuff.
I recently got the Oxi One, also thanks to your previous videos :) I personally really enjoyed coming up with more complex melodies on the Oxi because it has a few very helpful features and it's just more visual. When I was done with that, I just recorded the midi notes into my Syntakt and continued working in there. It helps me to focus on the task at hand, even if the Elektron sequencers are already great. This way you can seperate sound design from coming up with harmony and arrangement. And a little sidenote: Oxi One has 128 steps per track, you can double tap the page buttons to get there!
Great vid Liam! It’s my bucket short list. You’ve covered so my products and great work. I realize we all go thru our own process, but I was just wondering why you haven’t cover or featured the Deluge. Hope all is sequencing well man!
so the question that never gets answered on this issue of using an external not seq with eletron boxes is how do you use the elektron sequencer for param locking/sequencing without recording and messing up your midi sequence coming in?
I'm curious if there is a way around the contortion where you're holding down both the Shift + Step button while changing the parameter. That seemed a little awkward, as you mentioned. I would be surprised if Oxi hadn't thought that through and there wasn't a better way. IDK Maybe they didn't or Oxi feels a we should all accept a little awkwardness in our lives.
Good question - digitakt is good because it gives you drums with your eurorack- oxi one is great just because it’s such an awesome and unique sequencer!

I knew there must have been a way - thx for letting me know lol
Boom! The internet provides! Thanks!

Thanks for the addition and also for watching ! :-)

I just never really got around to it! Not sure I will either I’m stacked to the gills with other great sequencers! Who knows though
The size matching on both these devices is super aesthetically pleasing.
Yeah the Oxi one works particularly well with all the Elektron boxes too
Cool demo
🙏
Content as comprehensive as much as colourful as your " T " .. cheers to the sounds of music!
Cheers!

That's sort of the magic actually - combining two sequencer parts and not knowing what's going to happen.
Hey man love your videos, what are the headphones you’re wearing? Do you like them?
AIAIAI TMA - 2 wireless plus and yeah they're great ! I wouldn't use them for mixing - I would say they're more of a live use sot of thing.
Do you use monitor speakers to mix?@@LiamKillen
I think this is my next thing on my shopping list, this or an unreleased synth, decisions, decisions.
Oxi one is always on my highly recommended list
@@LiamKillen recent acquisition of 3rd Wave reset my bank balance, might take a month or so to recover lol.
The finger contortion of this unit made me go with the Torso T-1
I get it
And also … noted - I like the way you put it
Actually not needed :P i commented above how to do it. it's way faster.
Great vid!!! What brand/model is the angled USB C cable you are using with the Oxi?
I have no idea haha- something from Amazon probably!
Do you run all your stuff into the Tasman portastudio that’s in the corner?
For UA-cam, yes

I don’t know if there is! I’ll have to look further into it
There is, I just commented it above how to do it so fast and clean :P
I have eurorack and a couple poly synths I’m wondering if I should go digitakt first for drum fun or oxi one for better sequencing
Good question - digitakt is good because it gives you drums with your eurorack- oxi one is great just because it’s such an awesome and unique sequencer!
there's someone selling one locally, so tempting...
Oh man if you can get a good deal I would highly suggest it!
