    This is great! So you just have the Oxi sending midi on a bunch of different channels, and each one is mapped to a track in the daw? The daw is just like a complex multi-synth that happens to be controlled from the Oxi? I think I get how that would work, but would love to see a walk-through of the whole setup. =)

    The oxi one is really an great sequencer. There is one thing though that I would like to see is a way to randomize a note pitch like per step. I know there is the stochastic and matriceal sequencer but I would like to be able to enter a melody and decide for each step a random variation for the pitch with an associated probability. In matriceal, you cannot specify a pitch per step, you can have only randomize the root note. Polyend play lets you do that for instance.

Would be pretty useful for me if so! Altho i can't reverse time, so i have to deal with the eight track "limitation" of the Eloquencer. But i definitely have enough tools to expand greatly on the number of eight tracks without using another sequencer. Although sometimes i control one sequencer with another. It's rather more of an experimental experience. Written a song on the Eloquencer to remix a song structure on the Varigate 8+.

    Cool vids, and stop with that cheating mentality. I play classical piano, and in a way, I'm a button pusher if you think about it. I'm basically just pressing a lot of buttons (keys). And I play songs that people composed hundreds of years ago lol. Just play however yall want and have fun. Lol. Keep the music coming. I'm tempted to get that oxi one man.

      Not fully understanding your logic - there's so many other aspects of the Oxi One I can explore with other set ups. But for this DAW / composition type set up, I don't see anything else on the market that can replicate this sort of work flow- that's for sure.

    Thought it was a toss up vs. this and the Hapax. So, I got both. 😂
    Have 3 different jam stations, one is more MIDI oriented, the other is semi modular so it uses both, and finally an all Eurorack setup.
    I’m using the Hapax for the MIDI setup, and Oxi One for the semi modular system.
    Haven’t used them enough to determine a favourite yet. Thinking both are great for my use case, but the Oxi has a chance of moving over to the Eurorack station. Adding the Coral could yield some interesting results. 🫤

      I had the hapax, sold it due to the more musical generative ideas the oxi could come up with. The Hapax took forever to come up with anything half decent. That is what I got it for, so your usage may vary.

    • @hardcoreherbivore4730

      @@tyranic1 They had a new update in October, and another in beta currently. They’re working on it. OXI has been out much longer, so I’m not concerned.
      IMO, they both have decent pattern generation already. What distinguishes them is what they are optimized for. The Hapax is more optimized for MIDI, especially with the added MIDI effects. OXI One is more optimized for CV and gate signals.
      Although, a person can integrate both with either one. When you have as much gear as I have, it’s nice to have that flexibility.
      Can’t see myself giving either one up. To do so would mean unplugging everything and having to set it up again, just to make use of everything I have. Nice to walk in to the studio with everything plugged in and setup, just gotta turn it on and start jamming. 🤟😛

      @LiamKillen  5 місяців тому +1

      It’s not slower at all though once you learn how to use it and it pushes you to come up with completely different results and adds a hardware feel to composing- It can also be transplanted very intuitively in a live setting. Plenty of reasons why it’s worth it
