Everyone liked the first auction drive, so here's another. We were taking our yearly journey to Ocean City Maryland, when Corey said he wanted to stop by an auction. I ended up buying this 1974 C10 that hadn't ran for 15+ years. We got it running, and drove it home from Delaware to Pennsylvania!

Ol girl just wanted to run. Dad bought same yellow color 75 short box in '84, 350/auto, 2 tanks. 500 bucks. No ac, no radio, old 4 barrel holley with no choke, no park pawl in the trans, we used wood chocks. Came with a case of Marvel and a case of 10-30. We put a horse blanket on the seat and hog ringed it. I was 6 years old, used to ride in the back, we'd go chop wood and go fishing and cool off in the lake. Being the sort of man that he was, he up and drove it to Oklahoma one time for work, he told me later it took 12 quarts of oil, 2 fuel pumps, 2 sets of plugs, a rotor and cap, but it made the 600 miles there and back so I know you could get your 200. It wasn't a perfect truck, and I didn't have a perfect dad, but that don't matter, I still miss them both.

These guys did good they need more ad lib wise cracks. They can consult me for some scripts...

The truck must have decently low mileage because the 3speed column is still good, almost everyone of those 3speed trucks the column would get sloppy and fall apart and everyone would put a floor shifter in, those 3speed columns in good shape can fetch a few hundred bucks easily.

Because trucks with no options would get put to hard use as a work truck and they would get all the good out of them, even today most base work trucks get used up by the business/buyer of them and will run them until they are scrap where most people who buy a nice loaded truck generally will take care of them and sell them in good condition.

Love the 3 on the tree action. I'm working on my '74 Nova 350 3 on the tree. Super fun to drive.

Farm trucks get beat to shit especially if that one sat for a while would explain the rust. Honestly for a 74 that cab looks really clean. MIGHT be rolled over. My K30 SRW from california had 34k orig miles when I got it. It never left a 300 acre ranch in Fresno area. The seat was absolutley destroyed from getting in and out constantly. Bed had tons of dents and was absolutley covered in mud in every crevice on the undercarriage. The truck was even repainted once. Ive seen squarebody plow trucks dealers bought brand new never even titled and just used as plow truck for dealership, those trucks never had more than 8-20k miles

I wanna know how much you paid for it. If you don't want the truck, then I am here and ready to buy it just the way it is sitting now. I have been looking for an old truck just to use as a daily driver to go from home to work and a little bit of other places.

Well Walmart states it has something for every shopper but I don't think they meant y'all would be working on clutch swaps in their parking lots. I could be wrong.

Grille is worth more then the truck is . Those grilles with engine badge fetch really good money if not missing any slats out of them.

3 on the tree & V8? Can't be too common Jeez. But I dig it! I'd say Polish & Buff out the paint for +2 points, Add the new parts it needs etc... then daily her for a bit.

Drove a similar period example the fibtre glass canopy around MO bcak in 2005, rented on a handshake from a guy in St. Louis, gave it a service and slept in it with my girlfriend, visited Johnstons Shutins and got night raided by racoons... Anyways, enjoyed the vibe, thanks😉

I have the same 1973 K10 to this day that I learned to drive in at around 12 years old. Years later I was an Abram's tank driver in the US Army and was a natural at it. My theory is that a kid looking over the hood of a square body has to really pay attention to the ruts of the road before you lose visual with it. Driving a tank through periscopes is the same way, you have to remember what you see before the vehicles negotiates the terrain and actually drive through what you already saw but can't see anymore.

A good friend of mine back in April just dragged home a 72 Heavy Half C20 I think it has the 8 lug wheels. The thing had a rebuilt Tomlinson Engine in it. He got it for $900 at an auction like this one the body was shot at places. I just saw it Friday evening painted now. What a nice job the kid with it. I am not sure of the motor I think Tomlinson might be one of those home spun engine rebuilders but the thing does have some snot to it and an obvious cam in it. He put a Holley carb and intake on it the mice mostly had moved into the upper part of the fresh motor so instead of starting it up like that he cleaned the thing inside and out before redoing the truck and made sure it ran first before he began sinking 100 bills into it. The carb and intake made all the difference in my opinion it runs smooth even with the lope in the idle it runs like a dream. He just got headers for it when I was there they came UPS and he got a new seat on line which is not in the thing yet he has a 5gal spackling bucket for a seat at the moment. He's waiting on the carpet kit from LMC...
