If I were to purchase a rebuilt truck I’d definitely get one from you. You leave no stone unturned.
this is how its done i see so many people paint over rust and cut corners all the time ......nice job and it shows
Loved the restoration. Had to turn the volume down.
That is some concours-level restoration!
Супер колоссальную работу провели, нет слов, трек отлично подходит!!!!классно.....
I woulda left it how it set and dropped a 5.3 in it
Nice. I’m still driving the 79 GMC that my father purchased new . He passed it to me after he died in 98. I will pass it to my grandson. Great video
My father has one of these old square bodies that he’s had for over 30 years and he’s had it painted and reconstructed (half-heartedly) FOUR times, but it was never done properly. I wish this could’ve been his truck being restored. Two months before he passed away right before Father’s Day (2018) he told me I could have it ... I’ve always wanted that truck to be RIGHT for him, but unfortunately, he never will see it. I don’t want to get rid of it but as it sits, the cab is rotten and it needs to be redone (along with a few other things to make it roadworthy) but every time I get in it, I can’t but help to think of my father and I get emotional. It’s got a lot of sentimental value, (I’m fighting tears now typing this) but I keep getting pressured to sell it. I really want to keep it and just fix what needs to be done and retain the look and smell ... it’s the only thing we’ve got left to remind us of him. Over 30 years worth of memories... I miss you dad 😔
Whoda Hellru you can get almost anything for these trucks
Recobro del Señor
Don’t sell it you’ll regret it FOREVER!! And I mean as long as you live
You’ll regret getting rid of it.
Dont get rid of it. You will never live it down inside. Im restoring my little by little when I have time. You will love it when it's done. Rot can be replaced. Your dad will see it as he looks down on you and I'm sure he will be very proud of you.
Well done. It's pleasure to see another truck being restored.
My dad Has 77 Ford 350 and I have 95 K1500 when people tell us "you are driving old trucks" I say "I'm driving a piece of american history"
Wow someone really told u that wtf
Lmao
MR. STEALYOGIRL BahahahaHa absolutely nobody has ever said that to him
Another video you got to watch with the sound off
I agree
Joseph Atnip what are your thought on the build?
So?
Joseph Atnip Have a cry you sook
@@robertcoleman-smith8310 it's nice think it sets a little too low for my taste I'm not saying it needs a lift kit but I just think it needs to sit a few inches higher I don't like my trucks to sit like a car but it's not mine so he can do what he wants to each his own
Nice to see it restored and not modded
Non stock Holley carburetor and headers are modifications.
Why must all square body builds be lowered, they look great at stock ride height...
because you gain like 20 hp. duh
How can they gain horsepower or are you just being sarcastic?
MICHAEL DAVIS if u have to ask that, you don deserve a good answer lol
i love the stock look on my 83 chevy sub but it has a custom look.
At least they didn’t air ride it.
Gonna use this vid as a template when working on my truck, beautiful job .If your patient you can find one like I did .'75 c10 6cyl, 3 on the tree,29k miles light blue. After three days of cleaning , buffing wax on wax off she looked like two different trucks.Gonna be watching this one a few times .
I have the exact same model long bed and I am currently working my hardest to make it as beautiful as yours
Nice to see one of these trucks being restored, and not ruined by being lowered or raised.
How much does it costs to rebuild this car?
Looks amazing. I know it’s all about going with the original theme, but the only thing I think that would be beneficial to update would be 4 wheel disc brakes
Been daily driving my 84 C10 for 18 years now. I hope to have it look this nice some day. I do a little at a time but don’t have the best resources.
Beautiful. My Dad had a '78 green and white when I was a teenager. I always wanted one. Never had the money.
That’s not a 79. It’s a 73 or 74.
Cheyenne Super was discontinued in 75 when the Silverado was introduced. Grill, Interior, hood, and fuel caps all indicate it’s not a 79
Those 73-early88 Squarebody Gm Trucks & Suvs have became very popular now for 20 years luv the either lifted or lowered cool truck.
This is exactly what I like watching my dad has a 78 Cheyenne 20 with a 350 I tell you what it’s a cold blooded son of of a gun but it’s a good truck
Live long the old school Chevy gm square body trucks. There hot as all u can emagine when they are restored.
Fantastic job with the restoration... looks cleaner than when it came off the line
Oh man i love to put my hand on one of these 79 pu truck.
Great job. I'm doing the same on my 78 C20 in the UK, if it looks anywhere as good as this I will be well pleased.
simply STUNNING!! so glad you DIDN'T remove all the trim like so many do, these trucks look fantastic with ALL the jewelry inplace
I was very impressed until I saw it was apparently lowered. Still clean but why lower a stock resto pickup truck?
Because it's their truck and that's what they wanted to do with it it? Seems pretty cut and dried to me.
Anal problem !!!
Absolutely beautiful. Glad to see you didn't ruin it with huge diameter GHETTO wheels with painted on tread and a computer controlled emissionized EFI engine. It looks just like it did when it was new. I wish I could afford something like that.
Gerald Scott exactly, I hate circus wheels
JD 619 ; Sure are the best style or baby mooneyes.
Says the poor trailer trash guys😂😂😭
You and me both
Lo mejor que a salido en camionetas son demasiadas buenas la
I love the older chevy trucks, but if I ever restore my own, I will install a 4 speed manual transmission, I don't hate automatics, but I do prefer a manual shift. This old truck looks like new, Great job!!!
That is beautiful!!
you've done a fantastic job on the old chevy. i hope mine turns out as well. i have a 1976 k20 camper special. it's never been restored, and it's time. i'm the third owner. i don't think i'd ever have the heart to sell it. my daughter asked if she could have it to drive in high school. i'd feel much better her driving that then some plastic job they put out these days. thanks for sharing your restoration with us. i'm sure many people will be looking at it as they do their own. have a great day!
Um, Where's the A/C system? I saw a compressor in the initial picture but not the finished one. All that resto work and no A/C?
Open a window and presto, instant ac
I got a ‘79 custom deluxe that my tata bought right off the lot. You Inspired me to clean her up and get her on the streetz. Thanks. Tucson, Az....
GREAT JOB.... I love restoring old cars and trucks. Im an old school guy, I bring them back to as close to stock as I can. No Hokey ghetto wheels, or LS... whatever with a GILLION HORSEPOWER, that no one will ever use.... or 17 stage paint jobs... Whatever... Bring it back to stock and drive it.
I love my old Chevys...
Definately not a 79
MY FAVORITE body style Chevy. Got an '86 K20 Silverado. Awesome channel.
I bought a 78 Chevy Camper Special when I graduated high screwl 1ton running gear ,still driving that bad boy but hoping to restore it soon .GREAT JOB !
Well done. Looks like a life size model you put together.
Great restoration, absolutely love it as I’m restoring 75 Scottsdale right now. I just hoped that I would hear the car at the end of your video!!
Man super awesome and clean job, I'm looking forward to starting a project like this but with a k10 4x4, super awesome, everything was restored. inspiring.
I've got a 84, single cab dually, 454 King pin Dana 60 front end. All the good heavy stuff. Limited edition Silverado. The beginning of the package Silverado. Most people don't know, Silverado was a package first like ac, clock. Stuff simple but gm made it a brand.
True my friend, I myself have a 94 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab 7.4 / 454 Dually, fully loaded with 22.5 Alcoa's and I'm 💗😍💗 it!
Really excellent workmanship like a dream... I could do restoration work around the clock... Wait a minute I do restoration work around the clock....
hermosa restauración
Tú sí sabes el inglés
No hechas a tras el español
Lo unico que se restauro fue el chasis, todo lo demas es nuevo! A eso no se le puede llamar "restauration", pero quedo muy bien! Very goog, congtatulations!
Mighty fine work you did there sir, it’s beautiful!
I wonder how much it cost
I could stand in your driveway and drool for hours!! I will find a way to have one of these one day!!! Great job by the way
Beautiful truck.....must cost some serious $$$$...
I want to cry so bad. I got my 1977 Chevy Cheyenne K5 Blazer I want to restore so bad.
How much will it cost me to get my truck looking as beautiful as yours. I have a 82 GMC short bed? I need to start saving .
I love this truck so much i swapped my 85 front end for a 74.anybody know the paint code and what the plad interior is called
Sort out and paint/protect the chassis - absolutely. Beautify the engine and make the cab a comfy place to be - of course. But did you HAVE to paint the exterior? Before, the character and life of the truck was there in every rust mark and imperfection. A coat or two of clearcoat to preserve that would have been great. Instead, it now looks like a new truck from the factory - and beautifully presented it must be said - and all the individual character is gone :(
Excellent Job guys. I just bought a 76 Silverado after years of looking for one that I could actually afford, My dad had a 76 when I was a kid and it's always been my dream truck. I'm going to do a frame off rebuild too but I'm going to do mine a little different. I'm going to put a 5.3 LS and the auto trans out of a 97 Yukon. Why? because it only has 14,000 miles on it and it's free, my aunt bought the Yukon brand new and a year later a drunk driver hit it while it was parked on the street and completely totaled it. I'm also going to do a disc brake conversation and lower it a little, not slammed to the ground just and inch and half or 2 inches in the front and level the rear. I'm going to try to use the seats and the center console from the Yukon also because they are the color I want for the interior but I'm afraid they might be too wide. I'm going to paint it the Burnt Orange that GM used for the 76 Camaro and Corvette with a Buck skin Brown Roof, my dads truck was Buckskin Brown so I want to have a little bit of his flavor on the truck. I'm going to sandblast the wheels that are already on it and paint them Buckskin Brown also and then get some 70's repop center caps for the wheels and then paint the Chevy emblem Burnt Orange also just to with the body color.
Nice Restoration... BUT Why would you keep that 1973 Grill in a 1979 Truck "Or" is it indeed a 1973/74 mis-labeled in the Title? I was a Jr. in High School and my 1st new vehicle was a 1974 GMC 1/2 ton... I really knew these Square Body GM Pick-Ups ';-)
Great job! Nice attention to detail!
Hi im Carlos and I'm in Africa I lov those Truck allot sow I bought my self 2 of the Chevy pick up Truck's now i was just wonder were can i get good Quality Boddy parts for them......I cannot get them in Africa.........
I have been looking to get a 1979/80 Chevrolet pick up. My father had one for more than 20 years but when we moved to the US he had to sell it. I truly want to buy one restored from a professional like you guys. How can I get in contact with you ? The video is excellent. You guys brought back a lot good memories from my childhood. Hope I get a response from you.
Regards.
This truck is not a 1979 It is a 1973
Cool video but you have the year of the truck wrong. That truck is either a 73 or 74 judging by the grill and also the cheyenne super was the top of the line trim option until 75 when the top of the line trim option became the silverado.
Got an 85 k-10 and this motivates me to rebuild it ! Your truck is beautiful!!! And just a friendly word of advice to the people who put an advertisement of a Hyundai Elantra in the video,,,, I think your idea of product placement is a bit off!
I have a 1979 C10. It's been painted and body worked 3 times and still ain't done right. But I think it's best to take your time with this type of restoration. It's always bad when you try getting done in all at once.
i was collecting a few to build a nice truck then I got a 79 short box 4x4 cheyenne with 35,000 miles on it in mint condition full option truck 400 sbc with a heavy duty 400 turbo bigger pump heavy clutches stage 1 shift kit from factory all-metal grill custom bumpers tilt wheel air condition cruise control wiper delay power windows and locks rear window slider quad traction 100 % stock everything is on the option sheet even has oversized breaks what they call an all metal grill is around the head lights is metal chrome and the grill is plastic with metal trim chrome stripes across it the custom bumpers are a little thinner and there is no place for a hitch on the back just a plate then it has pusher pads on the front got it for free with a bunch of other good rare rigs one is a 67 rs ss 427 yenko they just wanted all of the cars off the ranch so they could sell it for 5 million so they thought it all was junk the 67 and 68 needs restored same with the 2 79 z28s then 15 pu's all for free just had to have it moved in a month one of the best days of my life and i think only one pu had rust in it 2 long body 78/79 have perfect bodies on them
If you look up the saying, "every nut and bolt", you'll see a picture of this truck! Subtle mods, intake, headers, carberator, wheels, etc... That said, dont think I could bring myself to put fluids in it. Cart it of to the museum, covered trailer of course.
WOW! It started out with some amazing looking patina and they RUINED it by painting it! What a disappointment! Why do people always want to ruin original patina with shiny paint?
Immaculate restoration.. out of this park. Great job
I know late comment,nice truck😍but this seems to be a pre 77 truck..door panels,seatbelts,grill and gas filler..🤷♂️
Man... Super nice build! Was my first Truck I bought when I was 16!
This is a terrific restoration but a frame-off job such as this offers an opportunity to improve the lousy handling of these trucks and all you did was restore the "badness"... how sad... did you ever put the windshield wipers back on...
The rims are different, I’m confused... 12:39 mark and the 12:46 mark. Which ones are the finished product? 12:39 look better!!!
Wow. This pick up is absolutely gorgeous and done to perfection. Love it completely original. Enjoy
You need to fix the title that truck is either a 73 or 74 Cheyenne super there were no Cheyenne super after 1974
Few people have the discipline to spend this kind of money and insane hours to restore with minor mods. Most all of us gear heads will go "Resto-mod" with those rescources. But its a beautiful day to see this level of build on damn near stock square body.
My Grandpa has a 75-76 blue except... Its completely brown and rusted the interior is fine though
My first vehicle when I turned 16 was a Cheyenne. Flipped it on a country road taking a friend home from school one day. It was hit a culvert or hit a lady head on with a child standing in the front seat as she drove.
A 79 with round gas caps? They changed to the square fuel door in late 78. Also the headlight bezels say 1978 or earlier.
Yup!! I knew this had to be something squarebody syndicate put together. Excellent job guys!!!
My dad had a 78 Silverado c/10 30 years ago but he barely bought it again, he was in tears when he got it back, and he regretted selling it and me and him are fixing it up
This video is not a restoration at all. It’s about assembling new parts for an old truck
Real restoration takes years but not much money cost while assembling could be done in months but it will cost a fortune
Nice truck though
Nice video!! Just what I needed! You got to come over and checkout my next project, 1977 GMC K25 long box beast!!
Thank you! I would love to see your 77 GMC K25, really love that blue color! Just checked out your channel, great content! Maybe you want to be featured on my channel so you can get more subscribers on your YT channel and followers on IG & FB. All you have to do is to record walk around video where you tell what was done and what still needs to be done and send me your video so I can feature your amazing build and more people will know about you! :)
Awesome truck, more time and frustration than most can handle! But... the brake lines on the rear axle?? Oh man that’s gotta get re-shaped.
Definitely 79. Better for u anyway. It my say 80. But i don't care 79. Is the year. Mabe i am wrong.
That is not a 79. Maybe a 73 or 74. And also they had dropped the Cheyenne Super by 79 and were scottsdale or silverado
Great Job Sir.
As far as "patina" goes its nothing but Stinkin Rust and i am sick of looking at it,,to me the joke is over..
this vide made me cry. Perhaps this lately more sensitive than usual or I see my dream reflected in that machine that is my dream to have a truck of those I have a beautiful blessing brothers of the mechanic salute from Chile the last corner of the world
That's what I'm going with my 73 2 tone white and blue a classic. Your truck looks amazing!
Im sorry but you dropped the ball when it came to paint!!! Two tone? With all orange motor? Common man!!!!
How much did you spend on the truck to fully restore it, if it’s not that much to ask. I have one and I want to get her looking like this.
It’s that’s the 73 Chevy pickup
Definitely has '73 front clip. Isn't '79 chrome trim around grille. Basically same design '73-'78... new design in '79. I think front clip swapped.
One of my favorite videos on UA-cam... great job!
Where did you buy your carpet from and what style is it, loop it cut pile? It's very nice.
Looks dumb low. Idk if that’s how they came from the factory but that truck would look better raised a few inches
Very tasteful restoration. I'm all for resto-mods until they start looking like pimpmobiles!
where did you shop for to get all your parts? I am getting ready to restore my 76' and would love to do it right.
Short beds don't come easy. The more time passes by, the more valuable they get. $$$$$
Is that the original OEM blue that you painted it? It looks darker with metallic?
How much it comes a full restoration like the one done on thid cheyenne? Parts and labor. Thanks
Fuck that's like the easiest restoration ever! No rust repair lucky bugger! Nice job she looks great
If I may ask, how much was it to restore it like that? A rough amount.
