Douglas I'm curious about the rail line when leaving the port. Is that line a spur or do you have to coordinate super loads crossing the rail line with train movement?
Pardon me, I didn't realize ( when I asked) this move was out of Jersey. I was referring more to leaving the port in Baltimore.@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO TELL US THE ROUT THAT YOU ARE TAKING..I REMEMBER WAY BACK WHEN I ASKED YOU TO START DOING THAT!!!..IT MAKES THE VLOG A LOT MORE INTERESTING 😀 😉..THANKS DOUG AS ALWAYS A GREAT JOB 👍...AND I LOVE YOUR NEW TRUCK..🎉😊❤.
this is quickly becoming my go to watched channel. I particularly find moving these trains fascinating. I live about an hour south of Boston, sometimes if I leave early enough I will get to see them hauling train cars off to a new portion of rail they're building and testing
I really enjoy your videos! On this video you got routed off I-81. I am not sure what construction is going between Cortland and Tully but between Tully and where you cleared the construction on Route 81, there was no need for any of those roads and streets to be used. You would have been fine on 81 all the way up. When you got off Taft Road to 81 North , you were 3 blocks from my home. Now I know that you have to follow the routes you were given but this one did you no favors and I was very surprised by the routing. Keep up the great work and I love the puppy!
This looked like a lovely trip! Beautiful country, not too much traffic in the small roads, and escorts who know what's up and make your life easier! Also an assortment of wires to keep you on your toes, and Fred for head scratches and company :3 Although I'm not sure if you have any time to appreciate the landscape, staring out the window is probably not what you're worried about as a commercial driver, much less in a big rig.
Bud, firstly what a epic trucking 🚚 video 📹, awesome truck driving from the port 👌 to the end of the video, got to see how awesome a mega load is moved, great scenery along the way brilliant job 👏👍👌

Good evening from East PA. The trip thru NY was beautyful but the thing that I notice the most is the great road surfaces, so much better than PA!! Keep the shiny side up and "keep on truckin"
Hi Doug and Fred thanks for another awesome video coming out of the huge dock area and throughout New York State such beautiful scenery but some tight turns and great job by your pilot guys so wishing you safe miles cheers from tim in queensland australia ( keep on trucking ) ps my grandaughter says Fred is so cute looking out the window but he chilled for the rest of the trip
I don't know why truthfully, A year ago 3 years ago I had nothing to do with oversized truckloads and now this is the new thing....... I feel strangely compelled to watch the videos And the wave hello to any oversized Truck I see on the road
Another great video from you Doug! Awesome teamwork, and its real life, no made up drama! Keep them coming. Your pooch seems super comfortable with you in the truck, now. I also follow FSC trucking, and if you people want another really great trucking feed, try Trucking Together, a husband and wife truck team. They are good friends with FSC. It is real life trucking, and husband Martin has a lot of DIY truck maintenance videos, even one where he rebuilt a Cummins for his Pete in his driveway, out of the truck. Keep up the good work, Doug, and look forward to the next post! ☺
Enjoying the ride Doug. Love Fred. Just wondering what he's chewing🤣, seems to be enjoying it. Talking about leaves changing colour. Ours are also changing here in the UK. I have an Acer in the back garden, and its always green, then all of a sudden, virtually over a week, maybe two, the leaves turn to a gorgeous red colour. As you drive past Syracuse, there were 35 university students who were tragically killed on board the 747 that blew up over Lockerbie in Scotland
Hello Doug and Fred .Thankyou for the new Video. The trip and the landscape are very nice .Enjoy the time with Fred 😊 .My dog passed away on last friday 😢 she was 12 years old .Greetings from Michael from germany

Hi Doug great video also brilliant to see Fred he is growing fast. How is the new rig doing. Keep up the brilliant video's aswell. Keep them wheels a rolling
I don`t know about you but i think it is amazing to me what a truck can hall with a small engine and a gear box. I use to drive truck both for a freight and grocery componies. I have always wanted to do loads like you do never was able to find the jobs out hear on the west coast i know they were hear but when i was looking i was did not see them.!!!!!!!!!!
Ya know, I just sat down to take a quick look at what you were up to with the 389 and that was two and a half hours ago. I'm curious to know what all the gauges are for on the dash. Maybe you could do a video on what makes that tractor tick. That would be nice.
Just about all mechanical components you could think of. Engine, coolant, oil, transmission, exhaust, both rear end temps. Yes, temps for all those different parts. Others are your usual boost pressure gauge for turbo, volt gauge, oil pressure, speedometer, tachometer, maybe a load gauge for drives (shows how much weight is on back of truck) More are air pressure gauges, primary and secondary. There also could be one that shows how much pressure is going to brakes when pressing in brake pedal. Some trucks have a gauge that shows if your fuel filters are clogged up or not as well as a gauge that shows the same for your air filter. And some others that I'm forgetting to mention.
Doug another Awesome video. I have a couple questions if you want to answer them if not that's okay. How do you feel about the difference between manual and automatic transmissions? How did you get your site name? Thanks Larry
When I’m not on the road you can usually catch me fishing. There is a fishing superstition that bananas are unlucky. Therefor Lucky Banana Personally I prefer manual only because automatic is boring to drive. The new automatics are actually quite capable. Both have their pros and cons
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Thanks Doug I seen in one of your videos your fishing poles on the passenger side. The one I watched the other day showed a lot of Fred on the floor sprawled out sleeping on his back. What a Great Companion.
Pretty impressive material handling systems at those container ports! Not hard to see why they can't do contraband inspection 100% of the containers. Question for Doug: would Fred be allowed to travel in a company truck?
@@Adam-x4bhe said in his video when he got the truck that that was the reason he bought his own truck was so he could have Fred with him since he couldn’t in the company truck
I look forward to the videos that you produce. The challenges and the terrain are very informational, as well as how the driver and the pilot cars interact. One question however, how do you handle the need for bathroom stops during the time on the road since the human situation is hard to plan for?
I will take a stab at an answer, several reasons, the St Lawrence River, the immense size of this ship, perhaps the cranes at the port, also the port at Quebec is another 2500 or so km from the Port at new Jersey, perhaps Groupe Bellemare made an offer Montreal could not refuse? as well We would not have another Great road trip from Lucky Banana : ) probably the best reason one could think of! I would ask also why not on rails? the Toronto subway cars arrived from Thunder Bay by truck too another good question in itself Yes? Cheers! from Ontario
Syracuse, my old home base. That 81 construction is going to be a long one. Any tips for guys that have been company men for over a decade but thinking about going o\o?
Do it for the o/o lifestyle but not for the money. Don’t do it until you’re financially ready. If you start with all your cards maxed out it’s really hard to get ahead. I’m not trying to discourage you, just saying don’t do it until you’re 100% ready
Hi Doug, Awsome videos. Is this harbor in Baltimore? Very nice that you film where you load. What is the weight of that train cart? Greetings from Trondheim, Norway.

Hey Doug ,,, Fred & The ESCORTS !! Thanks for the ride !!! Sometimes makes you wonder just who picks these roads as surly they DON'T drive oversized loads !!! Was that your DAD in the back where you parked at ??👍👍👍👍👍
Doug, that port is massive. You must have burnt your hours for that just trying to get out of there.😜 question: there must be a real experienced team building the route plans for you guys to haul these loads. How much lead time does it take to build the plan and does anyone check the route selected will actually work when your supposed to be traveling through it? Hope I’m clear on the question I.e. one thing to plot a route on a map but another to validate that route is viable for the load your carrying.
Unloading a container ship takes less time than one might suppose. Regardless of the number of “cans” there are strict time limits and I’ve seen a couple completely emptied in 48 hours.
Me again. 😅 Would the time taken to divert because of construction come out to about the same amount of time it would take to go through the construction zones?
It’s not about saving time. It’s about safety. And sometimes if there is a lane closure, the wide load just doesn’t physically fit through the construction zone.
Some of these routes They give heavy haulers on permits & detour purposes ...but in return u get to see some nice Rural Greeney sceneries of United states & Canada

Douglas I'm curious about the rail line when leaving the port. Is that line a spur or do you have to coordinate super loads crossing the rail line with train movement?
@Dave-0523 we do not coordinate with any rail lines on this route. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea… but there are fees for that so we don’t
Pardon me, I didn't realize ( when I asked) this move was out of Jersey. I was referring more to leaving the port in Baltimore.@luckybananaheavyhaul3407
