Love your videos Doug. I drove 15 years here in the states, pulling 53' boxes and tankers. My hat is off to you all pulling those oversized loads and making it look so easy. Very professional and I like the way you always compliment your escorts. Drive safe out there Doug and keep on truck'n. God Bless you all.
I’ve actually had the pleasure of seeing your convoy as I was heading south coming from upstate New York heading back to Jersey… Seen your trucks on the road many times an I’ve always wanted to get into heavy hauling. I drive a Tri-Axel flatbed an haul marble, granite and quartz, 9x’s out of 10 I’m fully loaded at 80k which is on the low end of the heavy haul business. But this here, this is my calling. Just wish there was a way to get my foot in the door so I could learn and get some experience. I alway hear companies saying they want experienced drivers but in today’s world. No one is willing to train anymore like they did in the golden yrs of trucking.
There are lots of good heavy haul companies out of New York and New Jersey. STX, Silk Road, Pedowitz, Super & Sons, Bay Crane, Izzi, De Mase… I guarantee you somebody is hiring. But you gotta be ready to start back at the bottom and work your way up. They will give you a chance with small loads and as you prove yourself the loads will get bigger. Good luck ✌️
Thanks for taking us along again Doug. I know there’s allot of work we don’t see with you capturing footage, editing etc. I appreciate it. Nice to also see you and your dad at the same company. Growing up my daughter was with me all the time, her Nik name was bunk freight and she’s now a driver as well hauling cars.
Well guys I've just sat and watched a real professional crew at work. Watched a fee like this and so far you're hands down the best. Ex driver myself here in the UK,but nothing close to that, but I can appreciate the difficulties on a trip like that. For the most part other drivers were courteous and would wait without issue. I'm only driving rc trucks now, have up driving to look after the wife as a carer. Will be watching more of your drives,oh and norman, your a star, clean clear instructions. You pretty much backed that load all the way! Keep it shiny side up!
14:10 Poor Mercedes has to back up a ¼ mile. By 14:45 they're wishing they had pulled forward to the right turn lane. 🤣 I like that you captioned it with a "sorry". Very Canadian of you! Another 10/10 video.
It's amazing how careful all the drivers are. I like the way you keep all the trucks clean and nice looking too. Maybe we'll see a convoy of all these trucks pretty soon. Very exciting thing to see.
Another great video! Props to Dad and his new truck. I’m sure he’s very proud to have you running alongside him. Really enjoyed to dock footage. Great seeing all that specialized equipment. Thank you Doug.

Great watching your vids. THANK YOU for the great ride, even though it was by video. Would have been nice to see the delivery side of this trip also. Keep putting out these great haul videos, love watching them. LOL, have watched this one twice now and have enjoyed it both times.
Your collection of different trailers and the number of them you have is amazing. Leaving Newark with an oversized load always seems really difficult, sort of amazing the city of Newark would work toward coming up with a more straight forward method of getting oversized loads out of the port - but I guess they aren't the ones that have to drive the trucks so they don't really care. Always amazing the teamwork. Thank you. Enjoyed the long entire video.

Thanks, Doug, for another great video. The careful editing of views from multiple cameras makes for very enjoyable viewing. It was fun watching the steerable trailer since we see so few of them here.
Surprised that there aren't better access roads from the port to the interstate. One would think that would be a priority. Really enjoyed going on this adventure with you. Thanks for sharing your world with us.
That was a great video! It really shows the teamwork needed, all the different rules and regulations you have to deal with and how you are routed. I was surprised to see where NJ sent you when you left the port.

In these situations the truck driver almost always has final say. But I’m open to ideas from all team members. It’s easy to get irritated but he’s only trying to help so I had to take a second and compose myself. It happens 🤷🏼♂️

It’s not all about me (the driver). This kind of transport is a team effort and I’ll be the first to admit a well oiled team makes my job a lot easier!

But hauled Conduit Pipes for the Golden Gate Bridge in the 1990's I was one of the Only Drivers aloud to back into where they unloaded the huge Pipes. We hauled it from Napa California Iron to the Golden Gate
i really like watching you seem to have vry much respect and appreciation to your transport crew work very well together and the paying attention to every traffic hazard is very nice to see from heavy transport
Good day. Having the steerable axles at the back of the that trailer must have been a god send. Looking at the wagons in the yard I never knew how diverse Bellemare's trailer fleet is. But you have to drive faster in the yard. I was getting bored. LOL BTW, one of my friends at Keen posted a pic of 1 of 3 all electric trucks at Carlisle being prepped to be sent to Savannah to work. Appear to be Cabover Volvo's. Savannah is already building charging ports for them. They are working under a federal grant system whereas for each diesel engine destroyed $X.XX will be granted. Work hard, drive fast, speed safely. 😆 Have a good day
A non steerable trailer at 137 feet is just crazy!!! For sure the technology is steadily improving but it will be a long time before we see electric trucks on long distance transport. They just don’t have the endurance. I can see a lot more local delivery fleets using electric in the near future.
Firstly, a very professional team and job well done. Now could someone answer some questions for me please? I am now 70 years old and long retired from this type of work, and also looking at it from a European perspective. Why such a multi axle set up for a comparably light and short load? I assume axle weight limits (bridges?) In the UK these carriages are transported on a 3/4 axle prime mover and a 4/5 axle semi trailer (steerable). second question, Do they not experience any traction difficulty's with the lack of ballast on the prime mover? Thanks for reading, and good journeys!
Unfortunately North American weight regulations are overly complicated. I don’t make the rules! And the real problem is that the regulations change from state to state and from province to province. On long distance it is complicated to have a configuration that is accepted everywhere. Gross weight of this move was 175,000 lbs which requires 9 axles. Also we need to use lowboy trailers instead of platform trailers because of our low bridges. A platform would be lighter and make the overall length shorter but we could never find a route with the height. And yes having a jeep (dolly) under the front reduces traction but it’s just a fact of life for us because we need 5 axles under the front and 5 axle trucks are extremely rare in North America.
Enjoy watching a professional team at work. I understand t all makes for good work. Isn't there a Canadian company Bombardier that builds rail cars just south in Plattsburgh, N. Y.?
That route out of Elizabeth Marine Terminal was as cruddy as it gets. Going down that stretch of US-1&9 with a normal vehicle is a pain. Then going through neighborhoods just to get back to the interstate. I guess there wasn't a good shot to I-78 for that trailer setup?
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 and what a brilliant job they did as well - stayed close, gave good feedback on the turns and moved out early to block off lanes - great work. Not sure on the instructions that might have been given to the lead pilot during some of the timelapse footage but, to me, they always seemed too far ahead and allowed a lot of traffic between them and the load.
I often push my lead pilot out to maximum radio range. His job is not only to warn oncoming traffic but also to warn the truck of obstacles ahead. The sooner he can call out obstacles the more time I have to react.
What a very impressive finely choreographed dance! Nice work gentlemen, plenty safe and not a scratch on it I bet. I'm sure it's a great treasure to be working with your Dad! Not many get to do that, and some wouldn't want to anyway lol. I used to run a lot of NY with a dump wagon, sometimes with hazmat, later on around home I moved on to heavy and oversize so I am wondering what your route was that took you to Messina! I assumed you were headed for 287 on the south side. Thanks for the videos, I enjoy any length of video, it reminds me of the good days. Be well, and stay safe.
Yes very privileged to be working alongside dad 😊 Highway 37 across the top of New York through Massena is the best route for very high loads. These trains are 14’11”. We go that way to avoid the low bridges in Albany.
There is a guy in the US who claims to be "The number 1 UA-cam Video Heavy Hauler". I'll call him on that because I think you are number 1. Your trips are definitely more challenging than what I see on his channel.
I never set out to be #1. I’m just proud of what we do and I like to share it. I’m lucky that we do a wide variety of different loads and it allows me to put out different videos.
Calgary has it easy... they come in on a CP car, and there is a switch where they just jack the cars up, pull the heavy rail car out from under and drop it on the rail (both rails are the same width, and then they have a switch to take it to the light rail, which is right beside it. Seen the light rail car on the train car, seen it in the spot on with no train car, then it was gone... Sadly, never saw it being worked on!
Yeah it’s too bad the technology hasn’t caught on more in North America. Very common in EU. But at 137 feet long it would be crazy not to be steerable!
Awesome 78 min video of most of the roundtrip!!! I like the orange paint job -- & I like the steering drop-centre trailer -- is the steering trailer by TEMISKO perhaps?
I think it's funny how I've seen so many train cars (commuter) are delivered by truck! LOL! I know the rail gauge must be different or something but, how funny is that otherwise?
Doug, Watching of how relaxed you are is a example of a driver knowing his equipment and mostly knowing how to handle it! Do you own the tractor or is it a company truck? If it is a company owned tractor, do you have a say as to what you prefer? As always, great job!
Thanks for watching. It is a company tractor. When they buy new no, they don’t take the time to ask us what we want. However if a driver quits and we would prefer his truck than we often get a choice and seniority wins. Right now we have Kenworth, Peterbilt and Western Star so a bit of variety.
1:08:17 Who is controlling the back steering? In the other videos I see somebody have to get out, turn on the motor, then control it with a remote next to it, but it looks like none of that is happening.

Super video
great video love the trucks that shows how hard your job is stay safe
Thanks for following along ✌️
Love that trailer with the steers. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video Doug. The red pete on 131 was my uncle Danny and the escort vehicle was my father
Crazy how small a world it is! Happy to have you along for the ride ✌️
A small world…..☺️
Enjoy watching a professional team at work. I understand t all makes for good work. Isn't there a Canadian company Bombardier that builds rail cars just south in Plattsburgh, N. Y.?
Yup and they sell them overseas 🤣🤦♂️🤷🏼♂️
Hey Doug & Your "TEAM "" !!!! Great work with NO issues !!! Enjoyed the ride & Video so ""KEEP "" Them Coming for sure !!! 🤔🙄🙂🙃👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much. Happy to have you along for the ride ✌️
Something about the bridges being too low on the interstate. These loads are 14’11”. Standard truck height is 13’6”
Viele Grüße aus Deutschland.
Fahre hier in Deutschland auch Oversize Truck.
Ihr habt meinen Vollstes Respekt.
Allzeit Gute Fahrt.
It's automatically a good day when Lucky Banana uploads.
Je sais pas comment du fait doug, le stress que tu dois avoir des fois j'imagine pas. Beau travail c'est toi le meilleur.
Le stress c’est comme une drug. C’est trippent de poucer les limites pour voir si t’es capable 🤙
Not to far from where is was born in Orange NJ about 8 miles away changed a lot be safe
I'm assuming the pilot car in the back controls the steering on the trailer going around the corners
Exactly
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 and what a brilliant job they did as well - stayed close, gave good feedback on the turns and moved out early to block off lanes - great work.
Not sure on the instructions that might have been given to the lead pilot during some of the timelapse footage but, to me, they always seemed too far ahead and allowed a lot of traffic between them and the load.
I often push my lead pilot out to maximum radio range. His job is not only to warn oncoming traffic but also to warn the truck of obstacles ahead. The sooner he can call out obstacles the more time I have to react.
Brings back so many memories pulling my 3 x 3 x 3 steerable cozad trailer that was so much fun
Always great to hear from a fellow heavy hauler ✌️
great video a little long but worth it I miss my Western Star retired now...
Trying to make content for everyone. Some like the long videos, some like the shorter ones. Happy to have you along ✌️
When you speed up the video. Always reminds me of the. Star. Trak movie with. William. Shatner when he says. WARP SPEED.
🤣🤣🤣
Yes very privileged to be working alongside dad 😊
Highway 37 across the top of New York through Massena is the best route for very high loads. These trains are 14’11”. We go that way to avoid the low bridges in Albany.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407, did u take I95 out of Newark Port?
No we drive 1.5 hours of city streets all the way to 287
Looks like my truck, I got a 2019 Western Star 4900SF.....love the colour!
This one is a 2020. It’s been a good truck so far.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 That is great! May I what engine you got under that hood??
565 X-15
Makes sense to me! But I won’t suggest anything because I might put myself out of a job 😜
Oh man I'd love to have an RGN with steerable rear axles like that. It would solve so many issues that come up with even general RGN work.
Yeah it’s too bad the technology hasn’t caught on more in North America. Very common in EU. But at 137 feet long it would be crazy not to be steerable!
Man i was working a different ship that day you guys picked up the rail cars 😢
I believe there is another boat arriving end of next week but I will be on a different project.
Awesome 78 min video of most of the roundtrip!!! I like the orange paint job -- & I like the steering drop-centre trailer -- is the steering trailer by TEMISKO perhaps?
Yes exactly Temisko
I think it's funny how I've seen so many train cars (commuter) are delivered by truck! LOL! I know the rail gauge must be different or something but, how funny is that otherwise?
It’s good work for me! I’m not complaining!
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 LOL!!
Doug,
Watching of how relaxed you are is a example of a driver knowing his equipment and mostly knowing how to handle it!
Doug, love the full trip videos. I bet it's a headache for you or someone to edit it with all those cameras
Greetings from the UK
Yes it’s a headache but all the great comments I’ve been getting make it worth the time spent. Happy to have all of you along for the ride ✌️
What a nightmare never washed the top where all the dirt and shits at😂😂😂😂😂😂
Enjoy your videos! Nice job!
Thx 😊
1:08:17 Who is controlling the back steering? In the other videos I see somebody have to get out, turn on the motor, then control it with a remote next to it, but it looks like none of that is happening.
Yes it is the same system. The trailer is being operated from the escort vehicle following.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Ah neat. Do you guys just keep the motor going?
@EpicATrain we keep the motor going when we know there are multiple turns to make but we shut it off on the highway
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Ah okay, makes much more sense.
New subscriber. Love your content.
Happy to have you along ✌️
This is nothing short of impressive!
super vidéo comme toujours!!! continue comme ça!!!
Merci ☺️
Nice job, Douglas and escorts.
very cool to jump from french to English and back.Three radios, is one for french and one for English???. Very impressive!!!!!
The three radios are CB, VHF, UHF I sometimes work in remote areas up north where the big radios with longer range are nice
