We thank Vets and active duty Service men for their service to our country and that is proper. I think we all have to thank you for your service. You provide insights to how milk comes to our table. It is very important we all see this process and the "everyday" struggles you go through to provide those products. Thank you.

Hey Eric........I've been a subscriber for a while now. I have been involved in the dairy industry all my life (I'm 59). Disappointed that my children choose careers off the farm....their heart wasn't in it so it is for the best. Just wanted to say, regardless of the task whether its routine maintenance, herd management or crop production, you do a tremendous job....good on you. Considering your herd size, the fact that you have close up heifers to sell as opposed to retaining them within your herd indicates the quality of management you provide. They may not have made you a big profit but if you retained them with in your herd they would have had the same cost........at least for the time being you have had a quick infusion of cash from the sale of the four heifers.....all the best going forward.....sorry for the long post.

I had the opportunity to work for a dairy farm in the late 1970’s in Annville Pa, . Being a city kid working on a farm really taught me the meaning of work. I enjoyed moving the cattle around the most because made me feel like a cowboy. I enjoy your videos, they bring back some great memories!
Wishing you and your family a most wonderful Thanksgiving,,

Those four BIG girls was a LOAD on the trailer. The tires squatted pretty good and it looked like the springs had a pretty good strain. Guess that’s what happens when you use quality feed. I really enjoyed watching the cow sorting. Usually don’t show it very often. Nice to see. Awesome video. Thanks

I've recently been watching Temple Grandin vids on animal behavior and reducing their stress (and thus optimizing their production.) As a non-farmer I never knew there was so much to know. Much of what you do seems to be aimed at making your cows as happy and stress free as possible. Perhaps you could dedicate a whole video to soley pointing out all the things things you do to make your cows happy. Thanks for all you do.

This is a great video, there are times when I’m busy and my calf feeder complains that there are calves that need to be moved out of the hutches. She doesn’t realize that to get them out of the hutches I have to start at the dry cow pen just like you did and shift everything up to make room for the ones coming out of the hutches

Your cows are so well behaved. I remember chasing steers and bulls and they ALWAYS tried to make a jail break whenever they saw an opportunity. There was no way we could walk them in the open like you guys do. Every stage of the movement had to have rails and fence that were secured to each other. If you just sat the fence down and one leaned on it, it would just slide out of the way and you had a jail break. And I suppose using a Hotshot prod was pissing them off, but some of the stubborn ones would just not move if they didn't want to. You guys rock

Great looking herd you and your dad make it look easy to get them moved. We always had a black angus bull to breed our first calf heifers we kept them 5 miles away when they were starting to get close we would move them to the main farm. It seemed like it took all day to get a handful of heifers move we had a single axle trailer that we could only fit two at a time in. Lol the good old days. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family thank you Eric

Your video demonstrates the value of raising your herd from newborn calves to milking herd. Docile animals that don’t spook easy are content animals familiar with the look and voices of their caretakers. We did it wrong by trying to increase herd size by buying bred heifers. They were crazy in new surroundings and new voices.
