As we enter this week of Thanksgiving 🦃🙏🌽🥛, I would like to send out a simple thanks to you, the family and all in your industry. We often fail to give thanks for the simple things in life. . .something like a jug of milk, without thinking of the difficult process to bring that blessing to the masses. It's not as easy as just sitting down to milk a cow. This episode is an excellent example of the determination required: early morning start, respect for the animals, careful attention to the nutritional needs of cows, their health and safety, etc. etc. And I love it as you often give praise to the creator for beautiful sunrises or sunsets. Thank you Eric, be blessed, and enjoy this season of Thanksgiving!
My work schedule has me up by 3:30am and starting at 5:30am...so I can totally understand schedule demands. I really enjoy your videos...brings back memories of growing up on a farm! I work in retail now...serving our pro customers that start their days early...so not a big stretch for me. Keep up the great work and the videos! They make me relive memories and are very educational! Thanks and God Bless!
I doubt I’d ever become a farmer , Idk if I’d make it , really respect and admire thier hard work and dedication , seems farmers exspecialy one with cows are just non stop working and wake up befor most and work later then most , lots of respect for them
My father has been an AI tech for almost 20 years now. Works for Alta Genetics. Dude gets up at 4:30 milks our herd and then spends the rest of his day driving around 3 counties breeding for a whole ton of farms. It’s a demanding job and I’m so grateful to have a father that hardworking.
I am just guessing from years ago, but the ear tags aren't all that big. They are in the ear, pretty hard to see from the back of the cow. The end of the cow where all the important work is happening on Thursdays.
Always enjoy your videos....Informative, no frills/drama and sometimes even a bit of your wry humor. Keep em up. In my opinion the best farm channel on youtube.
Love watching how dairy operations have changed. My grandparents ran their 80 to 100 cow dairy from the end of WWll to the mid 70s. Basics still the same but how you get it done is much faster and allows for a much bigger and more efficient operation. They had 8 to 10 people working there, just depending on what season. Christmas was particularly interesting at their house 😀. Oh almost forgot, every Sunday everyone stopped working at 11, we had church at the house, grandma was the preacher and the cook. Every Sunday, that was one thing you could count on, like the sun coming up.
I’ve been watching for a while and I’ll tell you what you guys are on a well oiled machine very good very good control over everything you do most of the time I imagine God bless you and your family keep up the great work for all of mankind and especially people in Pennsylvania we love your milk go PA
Eric, an extra big THANK you for setting up for videos in the below freezing weather!!!!! Great shots and looked like it was going to be a beautiful sunrise and day. Thanks again for all your hard work in supplying us with dairy products.
You guys work so hard. I grew up on a small dairy farm so I know. You have much fancier machines lol but love how clean the cows are. My dad was very particular about clean barns too.
Hey dude, i saw your first video just 5 days ago, now i have almost seen 28 to 30 of your videos, they are very good, i love the way you explain all. Big THUMBS UP👍
I could watch you feed over and over I love seeing the cattle get food dumbed on their head cause they are so hungry. I remember dumbing hay for the cows and they did the same thing. God is blessing this farm! Jesus is proud of your work ethic Philippians 4:13
Get the free App "Sky Guide" then in the early morning, with a star over your shoulder, you can point your phone at the star, and find out its really Venus! Love your videos! Larry from FLA
Good job buddy I like how you inform us of what's going on as you do your farm work .I hunt a dairy farm and I know what it take to run one it's not easy thanks for sharing!
Nice sun rise Erik and a great way to begin your day with a view of Gods creation coming to life. Interesting video on feeding your cattle and working out if they need more or less to eat. Thats a good way to get the bloods and AI in one swoop and no one gets hurt.
I suggest you get straw/hay pellets for your cows, the pellets are effective and cheaper than traditional hay and straw bales. The straw pellets are more absorbent and easy store
Great video and really nice farm I was wondering if you could do a review on the Kubota because I’m looking to buy one also thanks keep up the good work
Eric, praise God for your videos, we love them. Can you explain why the heifers don't mind the day old feed and the cows might? Also, how long does the feed mixer have to run to are sure the vitamins and minerals get combined? Thanks again.
I didn't realize all of the animal management that goes into a dairy farmers day. I thought cows just ate grass in pastures, get milked then a tanker picks up the milk. You're a good teacher of dairy farming and I appreciate the milk in my Frig more. I enjoy your channel. 💛
When I was in middle school I got to go with a large animal vet on a regular basis. The absolutely scariest thing was a Holstein bull! The funniest thing was 3 of us trying to inoculate a herd of loose goats. We got it done but it sure wasn't pretty!
Hey 10th Generation Dairyman I noticed in a few of your videos you use the rubber slip on boots over your work boots just a tip on putting them on and off. Try putting on a thin plastic bag (Walmart bag) over your work boots first it makes it so much easier putting the on and off.
great... fantastic...will watch @ suppertime!! :) I might even drink a couple mt. dews!! yay Already gave my thumbs up, #2,500plus. Damnit I'm behind viewing by over 2,500 hundred others!! :):) :)
I really respect you and what you do in farming. Love watching your videos. I hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year. If your don't mind me asking what is your first name?

Help him milk the cows...
@@mandykal I’m in college and he doesn’t milk alone :) we milk 300 cows in a double ten parallel parlor it’s always two milkers.

I very much appreciate your videos. Thanks for your time and effort’s. Nicely done!
The feed mixer shots are out of this world. Looks surreal.
That’s what you class as out of this world?! Wow... I’m glad you’re not in charge of the future of human evolution.
Your channel is probably my favorite on UA-cam. I started my own farming UA-cam channel because I always enjoyed watching your video.
Always enjoy your videos....Informative, no frills/drama and sometimes even a bit of your wry humor. Keep em up. In my opinion the best farm channel on youtube.
Thanks for the great, as usual, video. You are in inspiration they way you go about your work with passion and care for the herd.

Early morning feeding reminds me of when I got locked up, and the jailers brought us all food. We were so humble.
Thank u Eric. Appreciate ur video's. 😷💖
I love these videos especially since I live in the suburbs. Its cool to see how I get milk and stuff
One thing no one will get too see is the process of how your steaks get made from a beef processing plant. Think about that one.
@@cowboyupnow63 I dont really care since steak very yummy :)
Shrt whenever i drive by a processing plant either beef or pig I say theirs my steak/bacon...
Hi Eric I find that interest in taking the blood from the tale great video 👍👍🇺🇸 .

One of the advantages of waking up so early, beautiful sunrises. Another great video. 👍
U should make a light post with silage pits and with the corn and all the other stuff u put in the feeder. Must be so much better😃👍🏻

It always trips me out how much corn silage weighs, that did not seem like 100 pounds of feed on the floor, btw happy birthday Eric!
Great video and knowledge. Do the cows ever kick or bite you?
Oh man Eric. Those early morning winter temps. Remember them well.
When I was in middle school I got to go with a large animal vet on a regular basis. The absolutely scariest thing was a Holstein bull! The funniest thing was 3 of us trying to inoculate a herd of loose goats. We got it done but it sure wasn't pretty!
Those are like Crocs for your workboots. haha
Hey 10th Generation Dairyman I noticed in a few of your videos you use the rubber slip on boots over your work boots just a tip on putting them on and off. Try putting on a thin plastic bag (Walmart bag) over your work boots first it makes it so much easier putting the on and off.
