Replacing our old steel stalls and water beds in group one with EASYFIX flex stalls and mattresses. EASYFIX website- easyfix.com/so... CK Manufacturing website- www.ckmanufact...
Hi Eric Easi-fix is an Irish company. We have a house with 100 easy fix cubicles and mats fitted with 6 years. No problems with them Enjoy the channel best wishes from Ireland
Eric, you always do such a great job of taking us along with you on all of your farming duties. So, I was excited to see the new beds being installed. I had a sense of having something new on the farm I know so much about because of you and your thoughtful videos. Blessings
From the grooves in the concrete to the original waterbeds, and now this new stall upgrade. It's really great to see how much you care about your animal's comfort!
You care very much about your animals - taking care of what's been given to you and being excellent farmers. Well done! And love the new stalls and beds.
Your farm pulls off another great way to keep the cows happy and producing milk. Your amazing farmers that keep the milk Flowing. Another great video to begin an amazing day
The ladies say Thank You for their new comfy beds!! 10 year guarantee is pretty darn good for something that is used by livestock 24/7. Congratulations on the upgrade.
I was so surprised when black liquid started gushing out of the beds when the guy cut them open! Is that really water? I guess after 10 years it’s possible for it to turn black... interesting.
I am not wanting to start any controversy, but its not like they have any option if they want to lay down :( They laid down because they are use to doing it. I don't see hard rubber, even with a little pad under it being more comfortable than a waterbed, but then, I am not a cow :P Being easier for the farmer is not necessarily better for the cows.
@@MrSnicklesnickle they could be mennonites they are a little less strict than the Amish and some Amish settlements have different rules and are allowed to use power tools
@@MrSnicklesnickle I’ve seen Amish use power tools outside of the community. They do jobs for people for a wage, but don’t bring the tools home. It can be confusing.
You guys rock it man ! It’s nice to see father and son work side beside day in and day out ! I’d give anything to work along side my dad but he’s gone to heaven ! You keep milking and I’ll keep trucking ! Btw my dad hauled milk in Kentucky when I was a kid so I kinda know what you guys do !
I just started watching your video's a couple of months ago . And it is all verry intresting to see how things work and how its done .I also show my daughter how its done. But this one show's how much you love and take care of your ladies. Keep on the good work , i love your video's.
Looks really smart Erik. My uncle and mum always say when cow have full belly and all lay down and cutting is a sign of a happy content cow. You have a full section laying happy. It was nice to see on the first day. Look forward to hearing how they work for you. Great video
Wow those cows sleep on water beds? That’s crazy. So it has to be so important happy cow happy milk. I doubt people realize how much goes into making milk or other dairy products. Farmers deserve so much thanks for feeding all of us. Thank you man . I see the guys building are Amish. My house was built by Amish people and they had no power tools it was amazing the speed and quality at which it was built.
The best channel with American agriculture;) I'm from Poland;) from the countryside;) Now I live in the city. But I love your channel;) Regards from Poland;) You are the best in the field of American agriculture;)
Saw you looking at these at the farm show, glad you were able to get them. Love your videos and especially the scripture verses. Looking forward to spending eternity in heaven worshipping God with you.
Great video Eric, that update stall job seems like it will work out well, love the guy operating two drills, that was epic, the cows seem happy and easily adjusted with a slight investigative approach to their new bedding. as You say, a happy cow is a good milker, who would have ever known, makes sense though
Its great to see in today's crazy times how much effort you put for for your live stocks comfort. Makes me appreciate my steak at the end of the day. Lol
You’re going to love the flex stalls. Had CK install then in my tie stall barn in July and had some of the same crew working here as your barn. Cows are definitely laying down more and they have stretch room now.
You should try a row in a water bed pen and see how they enter the stalls in 2 weeks . I like waterbeds, but I have seen the bedding build up underneath and that’s not going to equal cow comfort.
I just bought 92 new cubicles like the ones you took out! I was considering the easiflex ones but opted for the steel solely on price. I am still shopping for mats and I love the new easiflex ones but they are twice as much as the 32mm Mayo mat so I am in two minds think I might go back to easiflex and try to beat a better price out of them, please give us a update in the next few days as I need to make a move and can't delay to long. , cows look very happy I must say! An Irish fan by the way.
We've heard you talk about how them old waterbeds had bedding built up underneath them. I NEVER though that there would be as much stuck underneath them as there was!
NICE JOB ERIC IT MAKES YOU THINK IF YOU ARE A COW YOU WOULD WANT TO LIVE ON THIS FARM 👍🇺🇸 🙂 P. S. IT'S NICE TO SEE FARMERS TAKING CARE OF THEIR ANIMALS 👍
Nice to see two different products made by two different Irish companies being installed on your farm. You installed cow mats in cubicles a few months ago made by Mayo Cow comfort and now these cubicles by Easyfix
If they hadn’t sliced the water mattresses, could they have been used somewhere else? Thanks so much for the videos! Everything I know about dairy farming, I’ve learned from your channel. Great information. I have a lot of respect for you, your family and your hard work.
Hi Eric, thanks for the video. Were there a number of Amish people installing the new cow beds? Good to see your father is able to participate more and more. I hope the new cow beds work out the way you plannend. Grtz from the Netherlands and God bless you and your family.
omGee'z that was water that came out of those old beds?! the new staLLs look gr8 &you are terrific with that kubota! always happy seeing your happy cows...
Thank you for sharing! I love how you and your family are always making sure the cows are happy and comfortable❤️ How long does an average milking cow live?
seeing all of them laying like that they are just sending message "hey Eric and dad we love our new bed thank you so much for making us be more comfortable in beds".😁👍
Hey Eric, if you notice cow manure on edge of many beds, adjust neck rail slightly back towards the alley. Will help them lay right. Wanted to just share.
I have the same stall dividers and water beds you took out. Not going to drag anybody through the mud but I’ve been shopping dividers and mattresses too.
it sure looks like the cows agree with does stalls. they look great and hopefully they will last a good while. I am looking forward to your updates in a few weeks
I still really like our easy fix stalls, 3 years in and we've had no troubles. Install isn't too fun, I've never drilled so many holes in my life but it makes for easy replacement if a mattress rips
i am in search for new cubicle dividers in our barn, these flex stalls look very nice. cows seem to be laying very well in them for now. wonder what happens when they find out they flex quite a bit. we got HF, fleckvieh and brown swiss crossbreeds they are in general a bit heavier then holsteins, the large cows just know which cubicles are a bit larger and. or loose and tend to lay in those.
Easyfix cubicles are manufactured in the west of Ireland. Great crew of guys. They have been around for around 20 years. I have talked to some dairy farmers who have been on farms where they have been in use for quite a while. They claim and this maybe pure hearsay, that when cows get use to the flex, they just push them out off their way, to lie in the most comfortable position they can find. That’s great for the cows, but the farmer might find himself, doing a little bit more cleaning of the cubicles. What I can tell you is that Lyons Estate, a dairy research farm operated by University College Dublin have been using them for over 5 years now.
Would love to hear updates in a few months on if you notice increased production or less hoof/utter issues :) they look great! Even tho aesthetics aren’t too important, that red is sharp :)
Either they were all tired from standing for hours, or they really really like those new beds!! Must be the animal version of the Westin Hotel's Heavenly bed! :)
Those stalls look great now and must contribute to cow health. Wish we had them around when I was milking. Many times we'd see cows develop lumps from banging themselves on the steel pipes.

That is awesome. Seeing the guy using 2 drills at the same time. Never seen that before !
Making the most of his time I guess. Those amish fellows don't play around with work.
I assume it doesnt matter if the holes were straight cuz they sure were not straight 🤣
@@fgoza1985 That was not one of the Amish that was the guy making the vid sorry forgot his name. Kyle maybe. I call him the milk man. ;-)

The cows being so large and yet so very docile , What an amazing animal and nice to see how well there looked after , Thanks .
It definitely looked successful. I love seeing how much you care for your cows.
Grew up right down the road from CK manufacturing. Now we have used them for gates on the farm in north central PA. Good company and good products.

Lauri Carpenter but they are using power tools. I thought the Amish don’t use electricity/power tools
@@MrSnicklesnickle they could be mennonites they are a little less strict than the Amish and some Amish settlements have different rules and are allowed to use power tools
The Amish rules can be very confusing. I’ve seen videos of a baler being pulled by a team of horses, but have a gas engine powering the baler.
I didn’t even give the power tools a thought but you’re right they don’t use electric tools. Oops sorry.
