NARROWBOAT Living - WINTER cruising NEW waters in our NARROWBOAT home! (To Foxton!) Ep78

- We live full time on our NARROWBOAT home and in this week’s vlog we carry on from where we left you last week, at bridge 50 on the Leicester Line of the GRAND UNION Canal. We take to the sky with the DJI. Mini 2 drone and show you the VIEWS from above! We are abruptly woken the next morning with a boat cutting through the ICE on the canal and realise we can’t stay any longer at this stunning MOORING, as we could get stranded and FROZEN in! We take a beautiful CRUISE in our NARROWBOAT FLOATING HOME onto NEW WATERS towards Foxton and moor up just before the Foxton Locks. Look out for the little birds near the end, and also we find a BONUS at the bottom of the locks!

If you’re new to our channel, just a little introduction. We are Julie and Martin and in 2021 we sold our house and gave up our jobs, to live full time on a narrowboat. We bought our 2004 narrowboat Rhapsody in Blue in the September and have been living full time onboard ever since. We hadn’t intended on vlogging, but recorded videos for ourselves and family and it has escalated into the weekly vlogs you see today.

Wow! -18C, now that’s cold!! Brrr! 🥶 We were only -2C, but it was a beautiful day so we didn’t mind, I don’t think we’ve ever had -18c in the UK! Stay warm xx

Great vlog guys as always lovely views again this week hope Martin feels better soon and you don't get it nice to see you get shopping and hope you fix trolley or get another one for next shop I know Martin is ill but he fired no horn this week bad boy lol I suppose its diesel run next week for heaters stay warm and see you next week

Foxton is lovely we have moored several times and walked into mh, one day we walked into mh with washing to a launderette only to find out later that there is washing machine and tumble dryer behind shop down the bottom 😂but we know now, lovely scenery keep warm.

Hiya! We said exactly the same, it must have been the wind, it was such a gusty day. I had that awful mic on which completely takes out all the ambient sound and only plays my voice (won’t use them anymore now) so with Martin not having any wind protection at the back it was quite a contrast sound wise, especially when editing lol. So pleased you enjoyed it though, thank you so much! xx

When you live in a dessert like California any and all rain is wanted we have had some flooding not at our place we live on a big hill . If it floods here on the hill the world is in for a big boating explosion.. @@JulieandMartinonRIB

I was thinking this afternoon when I took the dog for a walk it’s your posting day. Fantastic scenery and that shot of the boat breaking through the ice looked amazing, very cold but amazing! Julie couldn’t you get some new wheels for the shopping cart, It looks in good condition Bob
Hi Bob, the wheels have got permanent rivets, not nuts and bolts, so can’t be replaced unfortunately. Next time, we’ll go for one with wider wheels that will be able to cope better with the uneven muddy towpaths. It is a shame, as the rest of the cart is still in good condition. Thanks Bob! xx
Don't get rid of the trolley, just buy new wheels, better (of road) ones
Hi David, we would love to, but the wheels are riveted in so cannot be removed or replaced. It’s such a shame as there’s nothing else wrong with the trolley. We’ll have a look to see if we can , but doesn’t look as though we can replace the wheels 🤷♀️ Thanks David! xx
