If you put the bottom track on first it makes the pegboard easier. You still have to steady it, but don't need to hold the weight

A little cheat for holding the pegboard while you mount the track below is to throw a couple nails through the holes into the drywall.
A nice organization video, good job! Also it may just be my imagination (I am really bad with locations) but it kind of looks a bit like the old home shop of Jay Bates before he moved a while back. But maybe I've just been watching too many woodworking videos, since I don't have anywhere of my own to use.

You should build a power tool station. I feel it would be more compact and look nicer with all the craftsman tools together.
I see you are using the craftsman 20v tools, do you have the reciprocating saw, if so do you have any problems with it, also do you have the craftsman 20v palm router, and what are your thoughts about it.

The key to a tidy and organized garage is consistently keeping it tidy and organized. If you are lazy it will get messy and cluttered. Ask me how I know.

I’d put some screws in the top row of the pegboard, last time I did something like that the pegboard eventually sagged in the middle and fell out of the top slot. Causing all my tools to come crashing down onto my wife’s car. She (nor I) was not happy.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the bottom track be better if installed the other way up? thus giving a gap between the rear of the pegboard and the wall creating a void for the hooks to go into easily? and don't be embarrassed by the mess, my shed and most others is way worse, thanks for the vid.
I thought it was the top that didn't have the gap, but I agree, that gap should be on top and bottom.
Also, my garage is currently *way* worse than the before-pic here, and that's after cleaning it up a bit lately. :D
Been looking for a compressor hose reel and not sure which one to buy. Would you recommend yours to others? If so, what is it? We recently worked on the spring cleaning of our garage and I cleared out s ton of stuff. My issue is that I need to build a large shed to get my 60" deck zero turn mower and other lawn equipment out of the garage so I can free up more room. The sheed project is on the list and will hopefully be done this year.

I have an 8ft by 30" piece of peg board behind my work bench.
There is probably 200+ pounds of tools hanging on it.
The reason you can't hang anything heavy on yours is because you dont have your pegboard attached to the wall!!
Put a ferring strip at every stud and screw your peg board to it!!
If there isnt a stud at the ends, attach your ferring strips to the wall there, with Zpit wall anchors. Done.

Wow Johnny ya got this thks for sharing but got ya beat try doing this in 40by60 shop with cars and mechanical projects as well ha ha it can be done time is the problem never seem too hav enough but with lookin on youtube come up with ideas to make it work and dont cost arm and a leg called French cleats great idea and ya dont hav to be a contractor or mechanical engineer ha ha to build them so ya got this mighty fine Sir be waiting for more projects keep them coming later from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later l,m on board signed up today 😊
What did you end up doing with your old 4x8 workbench ? Did you recycle it into your miter saw bench or ??? I know you reused your drawers but didn't hear what happened to the rest of the bench.

It looks like the peg-board is against the wall. How do the various hooks mount to the board with no space behind it?
Agreed I did this same thing years ago and the versatrack could have a better slot in it like tongue and groove flooring but it doesn't. I had to tape washers every couple of feet the pegboard where I was going to screw it to the wall because it definitely needs screwed to the wall or will sag over time.

Your fork oil doesn't drip out? I stopped hanging my Mtn Bikes this way because the fluid from the forks would drip out over time. I hang them right side up from the ceiling, gets them out of the way and don't have to worry about my suspension.
If that happens, you might want to check the seals on your forks. I’ve had mine stored this way for like 6 years with no problems.
I realize it may be due to your still having the bench you wanted to get rid of in the center, but the before and after pics for me would have been better to at least show the same camera angle of the entire garage before and after, and then focus on the new wall cleaned up storage. Otherwise it seemed like you missed the big picture look and just focused on the walls...it was still a useful video, too bad my garage walls already have too much stuff on it I cant move and shuffle around, or some of those ideas could have been useful for me. But I will keep these ideas in mind if/when I ever manage to move to somewhere with better wall space. :)

Just moved it around to different parts of the garage, also took one full truck bed of stuff to my shop.
I would lock the bike cabinet French cleat with a screw.
Concerned your kid dislodges the cabinet when lifting the bike and it all comes tumbling down. Right over his head.

Did you not need spacing behind peg board for hooks?
The groove on the VERSATRACK spaces it off of the wall enough to get the hooks in.

Can’t you get metal peg board? Would wear better over time and not sag like another watcher mentioned.
I could but already had all of this stuff on hand. Metal pegboard is insanely expensive.

Ordered miter saw plans, was supposed to be sent June 8th, was not. Changed to be sent later in June, was not. I have asked 4 times what is the problem, when will it be ready, no answer. Now it says: This is a pre-order. The plans will be finalized on June 27 and will be distributed via email. We will see, but I have my doubts. I have my receipt where I paid. seems like I could as least get an answer.

Oh cmon! Finally have the shop in working order and instead of getting woodworking project vids we get yet another space outfitting video, bourbon moth too, John malecki went down a similar path, guess the big channels just ran outta patience for that
Reality's a downer, isn't it?
They all used to release some amazing videos every week now were lucky to even get a video every week and when we do its nothing to do with building. Bourbon moth is truly the only one of the 3 that stays consistent for the most part.
It's tough running this whole thing by myself. The garage desperately needed cleaning and I figured folks would enjoy watching.
