What better person to highlight shop greatness than the king of shop greatness. Would love to see a continuation of this series highlighting less mainstream content creators. Keep up the great work.
I am so glad you included some of my absolute favourites in this video, particularly Kynosis and his illuminated router bit cabinet, even though it wasn't singled out in particular. That thing is a marvel of utility and aesthetics. Woodshop Junkies is my jam too, and his process really inspired me when I was coming up with layouts for my little basement shop. I would invite everybody to visit Hooked On Wood as well. Dennis' China Tools series is invaluable for wading through the swamp of Banggood curiosities (and he did it way before absolutely _everybody_ felt the need to do a Temu haul/review), but his shop layout/improvement videos are really amazing as well.
Lol in one of his videos Fleet Wood goes over how he keeps the shop clean. Most of it is "if you dirty it, clean it up" and once a week him and his shop assistant will go through and blow things off and give it a quick vacuum. He has a full time business with employees so more often its his shop assistant working in the shop outside of when he gets in there to work more on passion projects.
When I saw it, I remember thinking "If he charged admission and gave live tours, then he would make make a fortune!" It's really a museum quality work of art.
Good morning. Thanks so much for your content and many great segments. Your very respectful & down to earth humor is a gift.....and all I can say is thank you for sharing with us.
Came across Doug's shop just a week or few ago and like everybody else, realised that a) I'm not dreaming big enough and b) i need to improve my skills by building more shop furniture. What an incredible space! And such an open, inviting man. I've just moved into my new house soi I'm at that exciting stage of being able to design my shop from scratch. It'll evolve, as shops do, but I'm thoroughly enjoying hours of UA-cam looking at many, many shop tours. Thanks for including a couple I've not seen here. I'll go check them out. 👍
I ALWAYS love watching your videos. Your honesty and candidness are refreshing. I will now go and drool over other shop videos that I will covet then ask God for forgiveness.
I’ve seen majority of those so great list. You missed one of my two favorites. I really like Wood Junkies and Shop Nation. Regular people sharing stuff in jeans with us.
I’ve communicated with him on here ( the last shop on your video) like you, I was awestruck, a loss for words. Absolutely the most insane and inspiring shop I’ve ever seen. I’m 64 and I’ve only been woodworking for about 4 years and I work out of a 13X13 shed on my property. It’s crammed full of everything I can fit in it. I have rearranged it several times and about to do it again. Thanks for sharing.
I stumbled on that Fleet Shop Tours a few years back as well, and dear lord. It made me feel like he's actually got a 2nd shop where he actually makes stuff, and this is just his show shop with how clean it was. Unreal.
I started this video with dismay. Another UA-camr I respect starting to do the annoying engagement/baiting stuff: the OMG face in the thumbnail and the "wait till you see number X!" But in this case? Whoa. It was justified. Number 1 is insane. Thank you for sharing it - I'm going to go check it out. And TY for all the great ideas in this collection - great ideas and introductions to some good channels!
I have been a subscriber to all of these and the last one Fleetswood shop will without a doubt blow your mind. It is a full blown art shop/woodworkingshop.
you should do a video once a month highlighting other channels shop improvements. a bit like belts and boxs do with tool news and reviews. fleets shop is off the charts crazy.
THAT first display just gave me an idea for my channel! I’ve been trying to come up with a way to have a swappable top with my big ass Dewalt compound sliding miter saw.
To my recollection this is only the 2nd video of yours I've seen, so I'm not a subscriber but I will be from now on. Also I must say after just getting done watching the video you chose as #1. I absolutely 💯 couldn't agree with you more. What makes it even awesome is that I too live in Texas (San Antonio area.) Thank you for sharing.
great video, #1 is a guy with just 4 things, which most of us don't have. we probably all have at least one of them. he has #1. Money, #2, Time, #3, Space and most importantly #4, Energy.
This was great, my journey began just pre covid with Wilkerdoos. Each channel has been a wonder of discovery at the greatness of the American woodworker. The no 1 is a heart stopper and that guy should really think about offering tours and training at $1000 a pop. It is that awesome! But you didn’t mention much about my go to channel… *Shop Nation* Credible design coupled with intelligent discourse. Come on man, I’m dying here winter is almost over and I need some more project ideas. How about a ramped up version of no 10 with lights showcasing really old tools?
"Belongs in the Vatican"...thats too funny. Great review of each shop, some I've never seen before and will check them out. The last shop I have seen and he will give you a personal tour if your ever in Texas. Without the tools I wonder how much he spent on the wood alone? I really hope that building and contents are insured for a few million if not more. I just keep thinking of all of the man hours that went into building it out and my head hurts just thinking about it. The consumables area and outfeed are my favorite
Some of those ideas are great, but the last one really blows my mind off 😮 Is that a real workshop?! A Special cheers to my fellow compatriot Cris from Get Hands Dirty 👍😉
I'm in the planning stages of re-doing my shop and you're making it very hard to do any actual construction because I see your organization videos and my mind gets blown with new ideas. Analysis paralysis at its finest.
@@ShopNation I’m a cabinet installer of over 14 years. There was a kitchen installed just before I started and we kept the parts at our shop for the island for some time at the customers request. When the island finally got installed my boss told me the customer had 2 kitchens. Basement and the main floor which was the remodel. The customer would use the basement kitchen for cooking and just sit in the new one for cutting vegetables and other minor prep work.
Nope thats his only shop. Just cleans up as he works. He and his assistant will go through and simply blow stuff off and give it a clean weekly for any remnants. Its not his primary business though so doesn't get constant use either though.
Wow. That #1 shop was insane! Ok. On a more practical note. LOL. I love Michael Alms hidden lathe. I’ve watched the video. And #2 was another great idea I feel like I could adapt for my shop. Also loving Woodshop Junkies.
Great video. I can 2nd Jean at Woodshop Junkies does an excellent job of space management. He’s very innovative and all small shops should check it out. 👍
I think my favorite part about printed organization is not having to spend my limited woodshop time making it. I’ve been printing 100% of my drawer organizers with gridfinity, and doing up my wall control with the DDD wall control system.

I'd admire and fawn over, but would be so afraid to do anything in there to make any kind of a mess. Like, I'd want tk be wearing hospital booties over my shoes...
