Honestly that first bottle is probably the most authentic Fallout experience you could have. An old bottle of soda from many years past in questionable condition that only managed to survive by chance.
Oh, my god, I have a unique story to go along with this episode. I have the cookbook as well and made Nuka Cola Quartz (the vanilla one). First time I'd actually made soft drink syrup and scraped vanilla beans etc. It came out great and I made spiders with it (floats if you're American). Anyway, the recipe makes a LOT of syrup and I didn't know what to do with it. Well it just so happened a few weeks later was my partners birthday and I decided to bake her a cake. Just using a pre-made mix. Betty crocker I think, strawberry cake, possibly vanilla. But the important part is it was a 'super moist' recipe and as I'm making it, I figured this would be a great way to use up the syrup. After all it's essentially just sugar and vanilla. So I add either one whole cup or two, I can't quite remember but that's a lot of liquid to add to a mix so I didn't push it too far. Anyway as it turns out, it was the best cake I have ever made (to date). My partner loved it and I was worried it would come out like a slurry or not cook properly but no, super sweet, super moist cake that tasted fantastic. I dubbed it my "syrup cake" and I need to make it again some day. So yeah, if anyone makes any syrups from this, I don't know if it will work for all the flavours but you can use the excess in cakes and it'll go great.
That sounds super good! I agree, the soda recipes make a lot of syrup (not to mention the serving suggestion of 9 tablespoons to 1 cup of seltzer water). I gotta make all the other Nuka-Cola recipes now - my partner also really wants to try the Mississippi Quantum Pie from the cookbook!
Fun fact. I currently work at target, and the nuka cola quantum promotion being bought up by target employees is partially responsible for the current policy in place. We now have to give customers a 15 minute grace period after the doors open to have a fighting chance to get new releases

Nuka Quantum is my favorite version of Nuka. It’s got some cool facts behind it. It actually glows because it contains the Isotope Strontium-90, which if consumed enough can cause bone decay.
I had no idea there was going to be a Fallout show, and when I saw it pop up in my Prime feed... I already "knew" it was going to be terrible. 99% of video game to live action film adaptations are awful, and I didnt see this being in that 1% of good ones. Well well well.... after watching 2 episodes last night, I have to say it may be the best live action adaptation Ive ever seen. Some animated shows are great, like the Castlevania show, but I was thoroughly impressed. Sure, they had to put some stuff in there for "Modern Audiences", but it wasnt enough to be bothersome. Great acting, really good effects, super violent, and most importantly, its very faithful to the game. If you havent seen it yet, I cannot recommend it enough

I've the mysterious reduced bottle content happen to me, once. I had bought a large bottle of nice beer and left it in my car for around year..... Somehow, through the cork, it had reduced volume by half! It tasted normal, when I opened it.
I was unprepared for a Baloonshop reference in 2024, you sir are a man of the highest culture :D Mixing the handmade and Gfuel version seems like the most legit version for sure, that energy drink B-vitamin weirdness seems nicely representative of the more sketchy ingredients on the ingame drink
The specific ratio they provide though adds up to 12.5 oz (4.5oz syrup, 8oz seltzer) before ice; depending on how much ice you add, you're gonna need a 16-20+ oz cup! Of course, I think It's best super chilled and around 3oz syrup/9 oz seltzer; no ice required and an even 12oz!

To get more carbonation from your water carbonator, the most important thing is cold water. Get it fridge temperature or even colder. The colder the water, the more CO2 it can hold. This is science. When you shake it up, you're not mixing the CO2 into the water, you're exciting the CO2 in the water, and releasing it into the bottle. When you release it and hear that hissing sound, that's just you letting the CO2 out of the bottle. Either don't shake it up, or if you're convinced that shaking it up does something, leave the bottle alone for a while at high pressure, and after a few minutes, the CO2 will dissolve back into the water and the concentration of CO2 will go back into the water. The concentration of CO2 in the air above the water will approach equilibrium with the CO2 in the water. And it does this more efficiently at colder temperatures (above freezing of course) and higher pressures. Do the waiting with the bottle in the fridge so it stays cold. You should also fill the bottle so that the water goes above the plastic nozzle. That will ensure that the highest pressure CO2 hits your water right away.

So I'm catching this like a month later because I'm on a big Fallout kick (my youtube feed just started showing me some Fallout videos, so I just went along with it). If you are serious about trying to make the drink glow, it shouldn't be too hard to make a base with an LED or two that can be attached onto the bottom of the Jones soda bottle and be a bit discrete. Unfortunately I don't know enough about glass blowing to attempt to make my own rocket-shaped Quantum bottle, but maybe someday I will get around to that.
I really wish Bethesda's versions they've made in the past were food safe... I've thought about getting them anyways, testing the surfaces of the material for anything actually hazardous, and sanitizing them for good measure!

How did you get "Shall we have dinner?" 何しましょうか？ - "Nani shimashou ka?" Nani - What Suru - to do, conjugated as "shimasu" Shimashou - to do together with someone Ka - Ending to signify a question. Full sentence translated - "What shall we do?" But weirdly, that's not even what Takahashi said. He said "Nani shimasu ka?" which is "What are you doing?" Even the game translated him wrong lol

Big cup yes that’s why all Nuka-Cola bottles are 12 ounces.
They fit in the same 12 ounce Mexican Coca-Cola glass bottle.

I've made multiple batches of the Quantum recipe. I have always used 6 tablespoons. It has a perfectly good amount of flavor, in my opinion.

If u want it to "glow" use Tonic water instead(seltzer/club).....and a black light[tonic water has a enzyme that reacts to UV light]

When I do GFUEL-Quantum I also like it carbonated. Tastes much better then just tap-water. Mixing it with Soda makes it really more Cola like.

So I'm catching this like a month later because I'm on a big Fallout kick (my youtube feed just started showing me some Fallout videos, so I just went along with it). If you are serious about trying to make the drink glow, it shouldn't be too hard to make a base with an LED or two that can be attached onto the bottom of the Jones soda bottle and be a bit discrete. Unfortunately I don't know enough about glass blowing to attempt to make my own rocket-shaped Quantum bottle, but maybe someday I will get around to that.
I really wish Bethesda's versions they've made in the past were food safe... I've thought about getting them anyways, testing the surfaces of the material for anything actually hazardous, and sanitizing them for good measure!

As long as it's bubbly, I totally agree! The only thing is the powder takes it's dear sweet time fully dissolving into the drink, I left some pre-mixed on the shelf and it still likes to settle to the bottom...

I agree (voiced protagonist wasn't a great choice IMO) - Fallout 4 makes for a good higher-def background for greenscreening video content though!
Cuz it's the newest. F4 gets flack because it pales to FNV in many ways but if you've never played it (or any BGS games before) F4 will be amazing. My buddy had never played any BGS before and he absolutely fell in love with Starfield, got downright defensive when I criticized its shortcomings
