Coming back and rewatching this scene after the finale, and GOD it still twists my stomach with how uncomfortable it is. Oswald looks so happy, and then so heartbroken, I’m so glad these two end up recovering.

For me its an indication his feelings for Oswald were real. It was totally different from Lee dynamics for example where Riddler knew Lee was manipulating him but played her game, let himself go but deep down he knew it wasn’t real. With Oswald, his feelings of admiration or hate just skyrocketed until he finally realized he accepted Oswald for the person he was.

It's like Ed's life has come full circle. He killed Dougherty because he loved Kristen and Ozzy killed Isabella because he loved Ed.
Gabrielle Gholston Doherty was a big asshole and tried to hurt Nygma. It was kind of out of self defense
