If ya think about it this is like a serial killer Cinderella.
Yeah the Vietnam Cinderella.
Well Oswald did have a princess in him
Killer Joy nope there’s already a version of this as Cinderella she kills her step sisters and feeds them to her stepmother as punishment the sick fact is that she enjoyed her meal all of it untill she got to discover her daughters skulls -A.D.
With a happy ending
I never thought of it like that but this ending is much better I must say instead of true love kiss being rescued to live in a castle, we get total manslaughter lol
This version of Penguin had parents who truly loved him, and they're both killed in front of him. This is actually more tragic than the version without parents loving him
Also one was poor asf.
So, like a twisted bruce wayne
Which is ironic given that Paul Reubens played both versions (may he RIP)
Better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
@@johnhart8856 Tucker Cobblepot and Elijah Van Dahl.
Treating Oswald like Fish mooney did.
WORST IDEA EVER.
They were worse than Fish Mooney
+Miss SugarPunk Yeah, at least Fish treated him fairly to a certain degree.
True. But Fish loved him like a son. Even through their little hate battles
HATE fish mooney. douchebag she is
too true
Revenge is not a dish best served cold. It is best served “tender”
Joshua Oh Well said XD
or dish best prepared
Or naked
With a side of gravy and honey mustard. LOL
Haha I love that line
"Where are they?"
"You thought they tasted the same."
Absolutely beautiful line.
I didn't see this episode, but I think he made her think, he fed her kids to her, before he killed her 3:37
@logantocker4610 Nah he killed them and actually did feed her kids to her
@@lilosi445 WHAAAAAT cold😐
3:30
@@logantocker4610TBF they did (unintentionally) poison his dad soo after meeting him the first time ever and being brought into the family. That and them abusing him didn't help much.
What kills me is the he was actually trying to be a good person and they fuckd him over, and he let it slide until they went too far. I love how Penguin showed that everyone has a breaking point. Also him cooking her kids and ha ch ing her eat them was pure and utter sadistic pleasure and kinda funny.
It shows that bad people are just good people who've been mistreated in the past.
@@prateeksahoo10 Good god I love you bro/sis
@@Raven7400 love you too!
I think Penguin watched Hannibal the day before 😂
Gotham did penguin so damn perfect
I really enjoy that creepy, nasally, and sadistic tone he has. It fools you into thinking it's a bluff, because no one would take that tone seriously at first but... Sometimes it isn't the six foot ten swamp monster that gets you first.
Couldn't agree more. I dont know if Im sick but when it appeared that he cooked her children and fed them to her I started laughing like a psycho
Future UFC champion You know why you did? Because you feel that satisfaction, that rush of euphoria knowing that justice was served feels too good....it may not be ethically good to laugh at the death of others like this, but sometimes, you just gotta enjoy it
Sherwin Aguilar makes sense
Future UFC champion truth be told so did I.
@@onefairyfan87 That really depends on your ethics. haha
That scene was a tad disturbing and thats quite high on a Gotham level. But I was so glad to see Penguin back!
+T-Bone When it comes to the Batman Universe within DC, NOTHING is on too high a level!
T-Bone same! I don't know why I laughed so hard in this scene. I missed the old penguin...
i loved watching the douche eating hooman flesh....lol lol lol
Liel Naor same it made me smile and felt like a sort of justice for Oswald . Also I just wanted to see her get stabbed
Penguin is not a bad guy. I never saw him as a villian. Rather just misunderstood. People like this though deserve this type of Treatment. They are horrible.
Best. Revenge. Ever! Its great to see penguin back to his old self.
He tried to change, but, same with people as it is with pets, you aren't kind to them, they won't be kind to you.
@@agenttheater5 mess with penguin, and he'll bite back hard
I don't know - feeding Ramsy Bolton to his own dogs wasn't bad either.
you knew Oswald was gone and penguin had returned when he had his disco vampire haircut back
I love that haircut :)
Disco vampire haircut is what we do in the shadows
They killed his only family so they had to pay!
Vdalem43 it’s what u get when u mess with penguin
Tabitha now knows too. only she paid twice
Still... that was messed up... I mean they probably deserved that, but at the same time no one should deserve that, know what I mean? IDK 😐
MegaNinjaRyan 6731 I think your a pussy.
@@MegaNinjaRyan what do u expect, he is and was always absolutely insane
Grace: He could murder us all!
Elijah: pSH HE'D NEVER DO THAT HES GOOD NOW
Oswald: YES I AM NICE
~two episodes later~
...well...
I dunno I think even a 'good' person would have retaliated against this family. Their mistake was taking advantage of a person who they KNOW has a violent past and destroying his tie to his good side (his father).
+RekEStore32 Well, I never said they were smart. Anybody would snap after the shit he went through this season.
To be fair, those 3 tried to kill him first and they ended up killing his father ,so they could keep his home everything Elijah had.
Oh, this is so sad. Alexa, play The Cell Block Tango
(I know this comment is from two years ago, but I had to.)
They reap what they sowed
2 episodes ago
Hugo Strange: Yeah Penguin’s sane, he will be fine.
2 episodes later:
He did say he wanted to see what will cobblepot do or something but yeah this was ironic and funny...
"But doctor, what if people he lives with kill his biological father, blame it on him and treat him worse than dirt?"
"... Oh shoot, I forgot to test that variable"
well he would have still be a sane if Grace and her kids hadn't killed his father and treated him badly but they payed the ultimate prices
The fact that Ozzy did try to be better, that he was happy and they took away not only his father, but his sanity. You cant blame him for sliding back into his old ways.
Damn shame about Elijah!(Oswald's father). he was such a forgiving person even after Oswald told him about his past and what he had done. Not everybody is as forgiving as Elijah was,I liked him!!
I liked Elijah it was one thing to be a nice nod to Batman Returns to have Paul Reubens play Penguin, but it was another for him to believe that Penguin has reformed and even was impressed at his accomplishments as a crime lord.
Forgiveness is a big quality
Wish we had more of him I really wanted to see them Build the Bond Between Father & Son it was a lil too sudden least for me to yank that Charcter away could have added to Oswald Arc in a Postive Way.
did you honestly think Oswald was gonna take your crap forever bad Idea
Ikr the dude is a former mob boss
And she knew he was a murderer lmao
They planned on doing that for a week or so then kill him too
Oswald deserves to be the main character i care about him most in this show
Same! And he was supposed to be! I mean, I'm three years late, so you are probably aware of the entire situation going on with the show at the time it was still ongoing.
fr, i everytime they go back to jim gordon he always picks the most boring option. i get that its in character for him, but come on.
@@ThugsWantHugs According to someone from the show's production Oswald was supposed to be the main character, but pppularity of Jerome's archetypes kinda changed the game. But since Jerome was pretty much a Joker-like character, the production team had to get rid of him which made views drop. And then Jeremiah was introduced...
He was on top like 3 times on the show lol just kept getting betrayed 😂
He was, in my opinion, the unofficial main character of the show.
3:25 I absolutely love his face the look of pure insanity and enjoyment is outstanding props to the actor
I loved those facial expressions 👌, he's awesome
Okay this scene is amazing (Though I wish Penguin hadn't killed the dog) but it's also amazing on an acting level, Grace's transition from "I own this house" to "Holy fucking hell I'm trapped with a serial killer" is so flawless, as well as Penguin's transition back to his old self. Both Actors did stunning in this scene
The dog was a necessary loss, but I agree.
@@CGCareerCentralyeah the dog was a big dog. The moment penguin goes for the kill is when it will pounce on him.
This will forever be the best Penguin moment in the history of the character
Yes
I've read his comics and hell I think....I think I agree
1:53 has to be the only dog death scene in movie history that is not upsetting, because the return of the penguin is just so distracting.
Must be legit if it's coming from a guy with a dog pfp
I felt bad for the dog because as well as Elijah, the dog did nothing to antagonize Oswald. But at the same time his sacrifice helped Oswald get revenge.
@@Shanethefilmmakerget over it, it's just a fucking dog.
I was trying so hard to not hate him for killing the dog
"You thought they tasted the same! But Sasha . . . definitively more tender."
“In my opinion.”
Truly, this Penguin is one of the best parts of the show.
Vengeance never tasted so good lol
I bet
But Sasha is more tender, in penguins opinion
Cinderella should take notes XD
True
Then she’ll never meet the prince and get a new dress
She became a Queen, the fuck You mean take notes.
Finger lickin' good
Lol
We got an easter egg from KFC
Tadah
Cinderella meets Game of Thrones
Dasan HAHAHAHAHAHHA
He's a brilliant actor
Those Van Dahls had this coming to them. I wish i could've seen Penguin kill Sasha and Charles before cooking.
+Enda McNabola me too
It might include that in a deleted scene, but I doubt it.
Enda McNabola nah it would’ve spoiled the surprise
Enda McNabola yea same . I would really want to see how he lured the over and got his revenge .
i agree and disagree, it would have been great to see the cunts murdered, but they purposely left that out as it builds suspense in that scene as their mother begins to panic and realise
Would've like to have seen everything in between... Hannibal style.
Same ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
MagicGummyFruit yea same tho😂😌
Maybe their deaths but not the food preparing, no thank you.
Giant Devil26 what? the food preparing was some of the coolest parts of hannibal
Oswald is not a canniball
Now Jerome and Penguin have something they can bond over when they eventually meet.
Asher Petrinolis I actually laughed super hard at this holy crap lmaoo. They should have definitely made that joke in the season 4 meetup
1:49 It was at this moment all of Penguin’s regained sanity was lost again
...but Sascha...
The first time, I watched it, I was completely blown away and shocked in the same way, when I realized what he meant...
He did cook both of her kids, but I was wondering was it their thighs or torso?
+TitanWar93
Most likely part of the torso, the roasts on the table look tied which string, which is generally done to the loins of animals plus if it was from a thigh, there would likely be a bone sticking out. Also meat taken from the torso would likely be more "tender" than from the leg. I just noticed this is a kind of shady question, but nevertheless, enjoy my equally shady answer.
A waste of good food amiright?
I know right lul
But he said joint so...
me too.
Ooooooookay, so he's back - with a bang - and I'm glad about that, but... _damn_ Penguin..,
+TheHarshCynic Hugo is gonna have a field day with dear Ed
+TheHarshCynic which means Barbara is going rogue soon
In this scene he was more like Hannibal Lecter then as The Penguin !!!
I know right..... I actually have a crack video played regarding this
I think they were going for a penguin more similar to the Burton film but more gruesome
I was fine with him killing the family but I got really emotional when he killed the dog! It was so innocent
What else he should have done? Taste it himself?
Dash Dash no Sasha or Charles
Crazy VillainFan Talk about animal cruelty in animal testing.
Jfighter 11 They were both aware of the poison in the sherry decanter
King of Conundrums yeah don’t give it to them in the decanter put it in a drink
You know what really is sad about this whole thing? Lets break it down.
At the start of the series, Oswald's choices were his own. He served bad people for the hope of gaining favor and power among bad people.
Once he had that power, he did bad things with it.
After a time, he ended up in the care of Hugo Strange
Hugo treated him and changed who he was. He was now a good man who only wanted to do good.
He meets his father who shows him love. The first person to do so since his mother died.
Then his father introduces him to these people.
These people break him down with EVERY opportunity.
He is still dedicated to being good. He chose to grin and bear it all.
Then he discovered that she murdered his father and he snaps and does this.
He made his choices in the beginning of the series and was a villain. He was then treated by Hugo and was now a good man. These people broke him. They took a good man and turned him into the monster that we all know.
in which oswald is cinderella
Dark Version
Honestly I wish Cinderella had ended it the way Ozzie did.
I mean that is the Chinese version of Cinderella.
He was in the walning dead
@@d.lan3yIt kind of did in the original brother grimstory the one the Disney movie came from stepmother and sisters have eyes eating by crows.
Most modern day fairly tales are adapted from some pretty fucked up stories you should hear what the original rapunzel was about.
This, right here, is the scene that made me a Gotham Penguin fan-girl. The acting is amazing and the revenge is so creative.
Alot of Hannibal in him here
they weren't easy to carve, especially Black walder
What up, Game of Thrones reference???
EpicGravity908 yes, 6x10 the winds of winter, this was before season 6 was aired
Arya and Penguin would make great friends.
Arya would kill penguin
they knew, he was a psychopath...
they killed his father...
they kept him as a servant...
his stepmother and stepsister and - brother are the smartest characters in the show.
This shows how much oswald was actually trying to be nice. He was willing to be a slave just because he loved his step family knowing they betrayed him pushed him into his old self
"Definitely more tender, in my opinion!"
I felt like that was supposed to be a callback to when Sasha attempted to seduce him lol.
My god That was FANTASTIC
When I watched this for the first time I couldn't help but laugh. Maybe it was out of shock, maybe I thought they had it coming, or maybe I'm messed up. Lol but that line and its delivery were perfect.
It reminded me of that South Park episode where Cartman made a kid eat his parents.
@@Shanethefilmmaker Only to find out a few seasons later that the kid’s dad was also his father.
That laughter when the dog dies is a great touch. It's the welling emotions of his mourning and his anger, poured out in the form of his most immediate emotion: his joy that he gets to finally have his revenge on these terrible people who've mistreated him. Good acting, good directing, good scene.
Damn! Penguin just went Titus Andronicus on her!!
+PAMELA TORRES Good reference. I was in a high school production of Titus Andronicus and it took me a split second to make the connection.
+Venom0027 Ever saw the film version directed by Julie Taymor? It stars Anthony Hopkins. I wonder if Penguin's going to cook up Butch?
+PAMELA TORRES he better do
+PAMELA TORRES and tabitha
+max Vicious Fandom: Oswald you can't just eat all your problems
Oswald: bITCH WATCH ME
kinda reminds me of the help and the whole "eat my sh***t" scene although comparing the two this is much more satisfying, though the least they could have done was show the kids faces when they saw the real penguin that woulda been satisfying
To be completely honest, I feel more sorry for the dog than I do for Grace and her kids.
Honestly, this is what made Gotham work so well as a series. Showing the transformation of every major villain into the psychopathic killers and mob bosses that we all came to know and love. In a way, it both humanized and dehumanized them at the same time. Which is a very effective and brilliant way of showcasing just how nuanced and interesting these characters are. On the other hand, you see Bruce transform from a scared little boy who couldn't even save his parents, into the hero we all come to know, fear, and love. You see him grow in strength, determination, and will.
"Hmm I doubt they'll hear it...=\" lmao that look
Man, that was a savage last line.
Definitely deserved it. One of the things i sorta thought they were going to build to as the series went on was for Penguin to get a bit more plump(since each time he murdered something, he ate something). Guess I read into it too much, but would have made him look more Penguin!
Penguin was never my favorite Batman villain, but he was my favorite person on this show
"I guess you're a little too mean to waste good poison, huh!"
This is such a savage line. I love it😁
yes!!!! penguin is back!!!
I saw that coming. it just felt wrong that he is so nice, bout time ahah
Penguin went full Eric Cartman on Grace and "Scott Tennorman'd" her children!! 😂
Oswald :
"I make you eat your children !"
The family just took the phrase "He's good now" too seriously and completely forgot they could still jumpstart his other self
got to be the fav part of the episode...
3:21 omg his face when he said "Dont go" 😂😂😂
3.27 the way he delivered that line was badass “Don’t go...!”
one of the greatest scenes
Her thought was that it would be a good time to kill her husband for inheritance right after he reconnected with his son. Smart, but probably slightly stupid considering she found out and knew of Oswald's past, found out that he had done insane and horrible things. The fact that she knew that this man was The King of Gotham though, the man that took down Fish Mooney and took over the Falcone Empire. She should've got out more, she would've knew to hand over the money and run.
Oswald finally became his grandfathers grandson a true van dahl to the core once a van dahl always will be a badass van dahl
God I love riddler and penguin it’s just the best
Robin really is an outstanding actor! His emotions look so naturally! They couldnt have picked a better person to play os' :)
When I saw penquin’s hair changed, I was like she is dead
Wellcome back, Penguin.
She had it coming. No wonder Oswald had little problem with Pyg.
When you think about it
This is kind of like a dark twisted version of Cinderella
This interpretation of Penguin is great he's the best Villain on Gotham except for Jerome/joker which is going to be really good
Masterfully written, masterfully acted, masterfully filmed. Perfect
This is the kind of darkness kids' cartoons can't show. (The adult ones come close though.)
I love it all
best pequin seen ever. i always come back here to see my oswald
Scariest portrayal of Penguin I've ever seen... Most of the other versions from television, film, and the Arkham video game trilogy paint him as a greedy and money hungry member of the upper class (the 1% if you will) where he is wearing a top hat and trench coat like a white collar supervillian. But this? This Penguin could literally play the leading role in a horror movie. 3:18 through 3:37 gives me goosebumps everytime. This performance is like a combination of the feigned innocence of Dexter, the pitch black morbid humor of House, the thousand yard stare of HBO's Band of Brothers and The Pacific, and the sadism of any Quentin Tarantino antagonist.
Surely you've seen Batman Returns, Dany DeVito plays a wonderfully smart, creepy, and eccentric Penguin, his natural dwelling isn't the posh penthouse, but the Gotham City sewers.
He tried to be good, even allowed them to bully and humilliate him. But they keep pushing.
*Took "Personally wouldn't let that slide" to a whole new level* 💀
He did what Cinderella failed to do years ago.
I loved penguin in this scene glad he is back
I like the bait and switch here. You think Penguin will exact revenge on the family by serving them the same poisoned sherry they used to kill his father, but nope, he ends up butchering the kids and feeding them to their mother lol. Great return for a character who was always the best part of this show, Robin Lord Taylor is brilliant
Knowing the Penguin... he probably gutted them alive.
Wish they could continue this series.
Oswald pulling off Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus at the end...
"Madness is like gravity, all it takes is a little push"
Gotham was really good for the first 2 seasons. After thatbi only stayed in it for Jeromes story. Then, when Jeremiah took over, I checked out.
That smile when he says don’t go
When Penguin started laughing he almost sounded like a legit Penguin
"i doubt they'll hear it" bro thats got me dead 😂😂 yes its fucked up but i find it hilarious 😂😂
He was an amazing Penguin
I love the Penguin in Gotham, he's a joy to watch!
You can see Robin's acting range in this.
This is when Penguin became my favorite 😂
How come has Robin Lord Taylor not landed a contract with a notorious playwright, he is so brilliant and expressive! He's sharing with Cameron Monaghan the best actor's plays in Gotham series
Isn’t it great how he included his step siblings in a family meal 😂
It means he consider them like family, right? 😉
Very ironic, Paul Reubens who played Penguin’s dad in this show also played penguin’s dad in Batman Returns. This version is accepting of Oswald whereas in Batman Returns, he literally threw Oswald into the sewers.
Penguin: Come on is the family dinner
Grace: Ok what do we eat
Penguin: The family
Oswald is my favorite character. I love this scene
such a great actor
At least penguin for once killed people who actually deserved it. Even Batman would understand considering he lost both parents.
Oswald pulled an Arya stark
Man just
COOKED HIS OWN STEP SIBLINGS AND SERVED THEM TO THEIR MOTHER
THIS IS WHY WE LOVE PENGUIN
