Almost everything that Bruce hears in this show contributes to him becoming Batman. He takes advice literally from everybody. I think one of Jerome's lines stuck with him, too.
Does anybody feel a little shocked as Penguin is always portrayed as a black market dealing batman villain sociopath yet Gotham (or at least season 2) portrays him as someone who's had an actually good reason for everything he does
I thought that from the very beginning. Penguin is a sociopath there is no arguing that but hes better for Gotham than any of the other villians. Hes a more likable character than anyone else.
@Edward Nashton. In some versions Batman has said that the criminal underworld is less dangerous when Penguin's in charge since he keeps it somewhat under control whereas some of the more evil villains just wreak havoc.

Swearing isn't vulgar. Swear words are just words nothing more. People who call them vulgar, rude and the like only say that because they don't like them not because there's anything wrong with the words themselves.
It's like those shows where they can be as violent as they want but they can't show a woman's boobs or nipples mostly because the people in charge of the networks are a bunch of old fashioned overprotective prudes.
I'll admit we all know Penguin has done some bad things but he's not pure evil, he's shown to have a heart to when it came to being with his parents and when he was around innocent children. If anyone was a pure evil monster it was the people who took his parents away from him.
He cares for Jim. He doesn't want to annihilate the GCPD. He saved Bruce. It seems to me, Penguin just wants to run his own underground network and to be left alone.

Hugo Strange made Galavan believe that he was immortal. He probably didn't think that he would be effected, plus it looked like he just standing in shock.
When I first saw Gotham I was quite disappointed that Penguin was played by a fairly tall man rather than a small man. But watching Gotham Im so glad Robin Lord Taylor played him. He is definitely up there as one of the best Oswald Cobblepots ever played

1:32 Penguin'a plan for revenge on Tabitha for killing his mother started here. He decided he'd let Tabitha fall in love with Butch purely so it would hurt her more when he killed him which he did in Season 4.
I honestly think that Penguin wanted to kill Tabitha after 2x07, but he decided to wait since he didn’t want Butch to be heartbroken. He decided to kill butch (reluctantly) so he would make Tabitha suffer
Love the last scene, Jim's gun empty, penguin and butch show up with a rocket launcher, blow Galivant to smithereens, penguin says "you're welcome" , Butch says (and waves) "Goodnight fellas" then calmly leave, as if what happened was an everyday occurance 😆🤣😂
Penguin went through hell in Gotham, but that man bounces back and when he dose he hits hard, like other villains take revenge and their happy, but if you have penguin coming after you, best thing you can do is hope and pray, pray to whatever that he finds you quick and kills you quicker because if he wants you dead, you could leave Gotham and still have him show up with his limp, hos cane and smile and your toast. Oswald is probably the most terrifying villain not because he’s insane or ocd or uses monsters, but because when he wants you, nothing not the GCPD, not an army will prevent this man from finding you.
