Oh Koffi, I hear your music and my heart breaks. Your death was such a loss. I felt honored to have taken care of you and meet your dearest family and friends. Rest in Peace, Colleen
Derek's guitar playing is just mind blowing. It is so interesting to hear the different energies of the guitar, and the voice, blend into one poetic song.
...I've met and spoke with Derek , Susan and backup musicians / singers / vocalists ...some of the nicest most humble people you'll ever meet ...when you talk with them , they actually engage with you ...cheers T / T & crew ..🍷🍷
I’m so glad they have this video with Kofi, it’s something very special for them to remember a lynchpin of their group with. Very sad, but equally very beautiful.
There are times that I sit in this small third world country called Wyoming and I wonder about the madness that seems to surround me and my world. And then I fall upon something as exquisite as this. Something that, tonight, fills the spaces in between. That lifts me to a better shade. Lightens my heart and touches my soul. Not even knowing this was the last piece played by one. And so I'm blessed to have been given this moment of knowing, in the middle of the madness, there is this forever piece of love and beauty. And For now I'm the lucky one. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Hey brother you are in a good place. Look up at those Wyoming stars stars tonight, you can see them better than almost anyone. And count your lucky stars to be there. You ain't missing nothing in Babylon. I promise. From what you wrote I'm sure that people like you the way you are. Good on you!
From a political standpoint: how can you say that!? Third world country? We are so incredibly blessed here. From a poetical stand point: thank you, in my own way I know exactly how you feel and this song really moved me. I just listened to it about 6 times in a row
I've known about Kofi's passing for a while now, but hearing the flute here made it land home. It does hurt. Years ago in college my friends and I were big Derek trucks fans, and therefore fans of each member. When we had learned Yonrico Scott had a band of his own and was playing locally in Charlotte NC at the Double door we went. Todd Smallie on bass and Kofi on keys/flute. We were the first there and sat front row. An older couple sat behind us. Well in walks Kofi and we were whispering to eachother "did you see? That's Kofi right there!". A voice behind me said "yes that's Kofi, he's my son.". It was Mr and Mrs burbridge. I said "oh man! Please take our seats! You must be so proud of your son's Kofi and Oteil!" Big smiles and "yes we are." We got to meet Kofi and the other members. Kofi was just a very smooth, laid back guy. So sorry to see his passing.
So much strifeful division these days. I wish we could all just chill and enjoy sweet music and just get along. Maybe giving your good seats to someone is the way to start. Kudos
saw their show last night and learned about Kofi's passing for the first time. it was still a fabulous show of course, and the new (?) keyboard player did an excellent job, but when they played Angel From Montgomery and the flute did not come in... he left a huge hole in all of our hearts
I only discovered this band recently, then when I found out that Kofi Burbridge had passed, mainly I had seen him play in that awesome Angel from Montgomery/Shake Sugaree clip ua-cam.com/video/ZrSK-0-MQ8s/v-deo.html your writing of your story is awesome and means a lot
Just saw this video, and heard this song, for the first time. And images from my youth in the 1980's came flooding back to me when I saw, for the first time, those late 60's/very early 70's images of Duane Allman fishing in some bayou, whether it was Georgia, Alabama, or Louisiana, with a Zebco 303 fishing reel and rod, and jamming with Jaimoe and Berry Oakley. Thanks for posting
This used to make me happy; now it makes me happy and sad. But that's life (!) and I'm so grateful to you all for bringing so much joy into the world in general and my world in particular. ❤
I am totally chilled out...the second the video started the visual was so green and peaceful. And the music, absolutely enchanting. Susan's voice...like velvet. The birds chirping take me somewhere else. Ahhhhh....everything is better.
This just showed up in my feed, god I'm so sad that I missed you guys up in my neck of the woods, Saratoga Spring, NY. SPAC Was privileged to see you there a few years before COVID and I chatted with someone on your webpage I think and told them I saw you guys at your buses, kind of funny because everyone was trying to fit under the small trees in the parking lot, because it was hot. I got out of my car but I decided not to go over thinking you all just wanted to chill. The person I chatted with said I should have come over, I wouldn't have been a bother if I came and said hello. It was too late of course, boy do I regret not walking over and meeting all of you. I went to the previous nights show with the Wood Brothers opening up and then joining you for a couple songs. Truly amazing night for me, thanks.
I was introduced to TTD by a friend, they are quite simply one of the most amazing bands I have ever heard. I am also collecting their stuff that they did when they had their own bands. Susan is simply beautiful and so much like Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin, but with her own twist. Derek a master of finger picking and slide. Long may they continue.
Very nice, genuine people! Derek & Susan were gracious enough to autograph two CDs for me, after coming off-stage following a strenuous two hour set. They are super-friendly and don't act like the stars they are.
Me too. Even after Kofi's tragic loss, the band is overflowing with talent... ... but it's her singing that makes me cry almost every time I hear her sing.
I didn't Know Kofi had passed on until reading these comments,it sadden me greatly.I've seen him play so many time always with heart and soul,he will be greatly missed.
It doesn't get any better than this! TTB just makes you feel good! Incredible! Emotional and beautiful music!......and can I spend the weekend at that cabin? What a perfect getaway! Thank you again for continuing to make such beautiful, soulful music that every time I listen and watch moves me!
Wow. There is a simple, sweet purity to this one... Birdsong in the background and a video edit matching the easy calm of the melody = perfect in my book.
Haha I can tell. Got that message loud and clear. Sounds like fresh plumes of city smoke and hard pavements and the pleasantness inching to work during the morning commute :).
@@mfloydhall The fingerstyle guitarist Tommy Emmanuel related how he was accosted by a fan at intermission of a show who asked for him to play with his boot off, because the metronome was too loud. He heeded that and taps now taps quiter or only in a sock. The Jazz guitarist Joe Pass liked to tap a foot too. :-) . But in this song it is just right.
It's not 'like' a metronome, it is a metronome, or a click track - I find it to be a little annoying. Great song performed by incredible musicians, but that click track....
I so luv you guys.. Really.. U guys are so orginal.. I have never felt bored while listening to u no matter how many times i replay.. Trucks is always right on thw guitar.. Susan is always right on the vocals.. And all your band is just beautiful.. Please dont stop making music..😊😊
Omgoodness I love it! I wanna hear more. I'm so sorry to hear about Kofi. Such a talented person. You can tell by his playing that he had a beautiful heart.
one of my fav band of all time. I don't like to listen to female artists for some reason but Susan is different, her voice is like a dream. Sending love from the himlayas
Just awesome! I adore this group and this song! Proud to say I've known Kofi since Music school when we were teenagers. Rock on TTB; keep on keeping on making great music. Hope to see you all live one of these days.
This place reminds me of when I was in Georgia in the Army. Nice and quite and peaceful. No stupid noise and people rushing everywhere. And Susan voice is so pretty here.
I have not asked, by I have assumed that it is on their property that they bought years ago. they did actually buy a farm in Georgia w/ 3 lakes, stocked each w/ a different type of Bass, & hide out & go fishing there, & evade incoming hurricanes too! Hoping to get invited to go fishing w/ them in Jacksonville area, or the farm!
Let Derek Tap, he's Magical as is his Wife, Susan and Dear friend Kofi Burbridge on the flute.
R.I.P. Kofi 👍

You forgot the flute player
3 Beautifully Talented, Long time Friends on what was Kofi Burbridge last recording, i believe. @@ArturoFuente-v5y

I have been fortunate to have met Susan Derek. Like you said so nice. Very regular down to earth folk
That's American music royalty right there.

Just turn off the news. This world isn’t so bad if you ignore the “blow shit out of proportion” media. Nice words man!
Where in Wyoming are you?
Same thing just happened to me here in Virginia...thanks for putting it into words

I could listen to Susan Tedeschi's voice forever.
She is special.
YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE!
Go Bills
i cant listen to my wife ‘s voice forever
That's what Derek must have thought when he heard her
It's more than a little nice to hv the memory of Duane & Gregg floating thru the earth waves accompanied with Susan. Thx for posting
When Susan calls "dinner ready" the neighbourhood come running...so powerful is her lovely voice...
RIP. Talented man. Will be missed. Thank you for all the music. Thank you

Kofi is still a great loss, and missed terribly. We were all lucky to have his talent shine.
God Bless the TTB family and the Burbridge clan. So much talent. Rest easy, Kofi.
He was so good
this is a life well lived for me. Making music with friends and loved ones. Derek and Susan are beautiful.
What a refreshing and delightful performance 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you, all 😊. From BC Canada
I'd love to hear an album of laid back acoustic versions like this.
Without Kofi? I dunno
Miss Kofi
Musical medicine for the mind

This used to make me happy; now it makes me happy and sad. But that's life (!) and I'm so grateful to you all for bringing so much joy into the world in general and my world in particular. ❤
This is like being caught in an old song that I haven't heard before.....
Absolutely beautiful
It's a song you like immediately upon hearing it... right from the first bar. That's good stuff.
I saw Derek Trucks way back in the 90's at Skipper's Smoke House in Tampa, FL.....blew me away how talented this young kid was!
In my many decades of living, I believe I may have never heard music performed any better than this.
my god, this is just beautiful - all of it. Everything about it - vocals, guitar, flute, scenery.
yes
Ditto
The most sweet voice Susan has ❤
Just something about acoustic guitar and a flute that brings tears of memories
RIP beautiful soul. Your music resonates throughout heaven and earth. You are always with us all, Kofi.
I am totally chilled out...the second the video started the visual was so green and peaceful. And the music, absolutely enchanting. Susan's voice...like velvet. The birds chirping take me somewhere else. Ahhhhh....everything is better.
The Tedeschi Trucks Band elevates the grace between us.
These guys, Govt Mule, Lettuce, Soulive....there's hope for the future of music.

Me too. Even after Kofi's tragic loss, the band is overflowing with talent...
... but it's her singing that makes me cry almost every time I hear her sing.
Rest in peace Kofi that was my favourite performance from you.
Only Derrick could sound like 3 guitars and a drummer. Only Derrick is worthy of Susan’s talents.
Beautiful.Beautiful.Beautiful... Still.Beautiful...
TTB is so good in so many ways. Susan’s voice is so strong, and Derek’s playing is always great! Love the cabin on the pond setting
Reminds me a lot of the Florida of my young days ... lovely music.
I didn't Know Kofi had passed on until reading these comments,it sadden me greatly.I've seen him play so many time always with heart and soul,he will be greatly missed.
If this one got stuck on repeat all day, it would be the best 3:55 of the day, over and over again... I'd be okay with that

what a beautiful song!!
That was an amazing experience
if they don't do an acoustic album sometime soon, i swear to god..
cause this is just absolutely wonderful in every way
Still watching 2023 ✌️❤️🌼
So beautiful just love the moment between Susan and Kofi after his last solo. Tearing up here
This is sublime...my version of heaven.
☆
Three good friends making beautiful music. Thanks.
Wow. There is a simple, sweet purity to this one...
Birdsong in the background and a video edit matching the easy calm of the melody = perfect in my book.
One of my very favorites... you'll be missed terribly, Kofi Burbridge. Rest peacefully.
Wow. Far too young.
Well he wasn’t that young, he was 57 years old, not that it takes away from how sad it is.
Susans voice has the echoe's of the lord talking to me led by Dereks fingers..
We Baby Boomers are blessed to have existed with so many great musicians. Susan and Derek are definitely on that list.
What a location...how can you not be inspired living in a place like that? Awesome
Haha I can tell. Got that message loud and clear. Sounds like fresh plumes of city smoke and hard pavements and the pleasantness inching to work during the morning commute :).
anyone else mesmerized by derek's foot tapping like a metronome?
his foot stops tapping at about 3:20 but magicallly the tapping continues
Man needs to keep his time.

Ash Ravens Yep, Fo sho’....can’t nobody tap a foot like That boy! Mmm...mmm!!
This is like medicine for the soul and heart ❤ wish there would be more recordings like this one 😘
i have never seen a rock used as a metronome, truly primal and organic! As much as I applauded MTV for Unplugged, this is the evolution!
Their new album "Signs" is wonderful..... greetings from Germany
Beautiful and peaceful RIP Koffi
the hat and the pipe alongside, all very spontaneous
One of the most beautiful songs I've heard in my life
beautiful simple acoustic song. so well done. love their band and music but this is all you really need.
Kofi your beautiful soul is missed deeply.
Wow! Amazing song by amazing musicians. ❤
Just mello'd out in America's Home Town to this. Great song, great presentation, great everything.

Kofi was a Angel. Great song! Keep on Growing y'all
Nice to see the surroundings. And nice to see Derek doing a little picking.
one of my fav band of all time. I don't like to listen to female artists for some reason but Susan is different, her voice is like a dream. Sending love from the himlayas
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard!!!
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
so lovely..rest in peace beautiful soul....
Oh dear God. Between the old Sears guitar, and beautiful Kofi, and the lady who sings like a lark..what more is there to say? Except...Duuuval!!!!❤🇮🇪🍀
It does not get better than this.
I love them. I loved the Allman's since I was a kid. I'm grateful that their sound and vibe live on. Thanks for sharing this.
Just awesome! I adore this group and this song!
Proud to say I've known Kofi since Music school when we were teenagers. Rock on TTB; keep on keeping on making great music. Hope to see you all live one of these days.
for me this is perfection, wonderful musicians...
Love you all. Thank you.
They carry the torch the allman brothers use to be the best damn band in the land now it's TTB

Master class western music ❣️ this band is a gem 💎
The flute player is Kofi Burbridge, he's good.
kofi is THE MAN
The Flute creates an element of Wonderment. Almost like it is from a time in the distant past
An incredible talent and spirit, may he rest in peace
Rest in peace, Kofi Burbridge. So sad you had to go much too early.

Just sensational . Wow! We are so lucky!!
