Glad you enjoyed it, John. You know, you'll be doing a bit of this when you finally pay us a visit. As Pinhead once said, we have such sights to show you.
Nice one Jim. I noticed that in the past year, Suguga-ya had dropped prices on Saturn games. Around the time when the ¥ to $ exchange rate was very favorable, I picked up a boatload that I had on my wishlist.
True, even the Japanese Saturn can be very expensive to collect for depending on what you're looking for. Luckily, we still have common stuff for fairly, but the less common games are really getting up there.
SEGA saturn is definitely my favorite retro console these days, so many great games and new stuff I never got around to playing! actually have a copy of Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius on the way from ebay! (it's a fan-translated reproduction but got it for a little bit cheaper than a new copy so it'll do in the meantime... definitely my currently holy grail game for imports at the moment.) this video is definitely giving me some ideas on my next pickup though, like I'm curious about the samsho collection. REAL BOUT Fatal Fury was the one I picked up case-only. I was intrigued by the 'GEESE HOWARD MUST GO' tagline, lol. not a bad SNK fighter.
I own that waku 7 ss port and the AES one..the SS port is riddled with slowdown and loading screens....it also features half res backgrounds compared to the original ones...it features cd quality music at least! xD i own the ps1 port of super puzzle fighter and the switch digital version...that sf collection..i own the ps1 version :P MVC Infinite also has the infinity gems mechanic....cool hunt btw...prices has gone up quite a bit i see....that sfz2 comes to mind...was a 500-600 yen a couple of years ago if im correct....
True, but the exchange rate and inflation have also gone completely nanners here, it's the most lopsided exchange rate I've seen in my 13 years of living here.
@@MadPanicGaming That's amazing. Damn shame we never got that localized here! I wonder how that version compares to the PS1 version & if there are any differences at all?
Nice video gave me some ideas for my Tokyo trip next Year 👍
Top #10 Saturn shooters would be awesome! Thanks for another great video.
My pleasure, and I think I will have to make that video.
21 minutes flew by watching this! great stuff Jim!

YaHaaaaaa *SEGA*
I'm actually a big fan of the Super Gem Fighter series.
Very different but very enjoyable to me.
Simplified and fun gameplay with colorful visuals and great music, what's not to like?
19:06 Bubble Symphony is the best game in the Bubble Bobble series. Such a shame it never get any standalone release apart from the Saturn version.

Surugaya is a bit of a gamble depending on what location you're at, but I usually always find something good for a price I can live with.
Lovely Saturn! I'm starting to build my collection slowly. So far I have Sakura Taisen, Sega Rally, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, SF Zero 2 and Thunder Hawk.
Oh wow! Someone else who loves Street Fighter The Movie! Awesome to hear, Jim!
Trader is my favorite store for Saturn games. They'll occassionally have rarer games on their shelves for a ~third less the price of other shops.
Yeah, I've had a lot of with Saturn games at Trader, I wish they had more locations.
The Saturn 🪐 is my favorite Sega console. Lots of great 2D fighting games with great animation. But collecting for Saturn in the states is expensive.

Love Saturn imports!!!
Can't go wrong with them, tons of great games that stayed in Japan.
Segata Sanshiro!!
“Sega Saturn, Shirou!!!”
-Hiroshi Fujioka in a martial arts robe
Wait... Was that Suikoden.... For the Saturn?????????
Yep, Japan exclusive Saturn version, ported in 1998 by Konami Sapporo.

Hey have you ever come across a copy of Germs for the PS1? Would love to be able to buy a copy off you! Let me know
Just Googled it, nope lol. Never even heard of that one, looks weird though.
