Should splice all the cutscenes together so we can see the full progression at the end. I'd be cool interested in watching a 30 so minute video off all you story telling moments together.
Sage mode wise Askeladd has arrived! Love how the aesthetics evolve alongside with his redemption character arc, just like your old let's plays with Milara Sarethi, the Telvanni Redguard adopted daughter of Revan (sorry forgot her name) and Fenrir back in the day. Looking forward to watching this College of Winterhold chapter!
whenever the protagonist says that line "i pulled an amulet off a wall" it always reminds me of the line from Llamas with hats where Carl says "i pulled the tag of a mattress"
I think if you wanted to do the thieves guild, it should've been before the dawnguard, something along the lines of askalad hearing rumors about the thieves guild in riften, tries to join in order to help fund the forsworn, ends up becoming the leader, investigates the rumor about the dawnguard recruiting because the vampire menace is hurting his operations.
Finally!! I've been patiently (impatiently 🤣) waiting for Askeladd's return! Love the time and effort you put into editing these, the role play back story with lore inclusion and the random banter and decision explanations throughout! I hate waiting for these masterpieces but that also makes them so much more enjoyable when we do get the next chapter, lol!
Hey Scott, you should give Askeladd some downtime next episode, do some side quests maybe starting with Arniel's quest for Keening and then have the episode be kind of a short "wise wanderer" arc for him, some time to reflect on his dark past and his new found knowledge I also suggest taking the Archmage's trial of Labyrinthian, would definetly give the feel that Askeladd is really getting into older traditions and it might be the answer to any self-doubt on his new position as Archmage Edit: Oh, and try Shadowrend's quest from CC, it's not super long but i feel like this would be the perfect point for Askeladd to face his recent dark past which he's trying to shed
YESSSS MORE ASKELADD. Been waiting for this for a long time, can't wait to watch it this weekend! Update: couldn't wait for the weekend, watching it today.
So now we have left: Dragonborn Thieves Guild, don't know if you will after the chaos arc is over Civil War A last episode where you end up just settling down with the hearthfire
FudgeMuppet, you have the skills of an excellent filmmaker. I wanna watch all your created cinematics now. Bravo, dude. Keep making those, they are GREAT.
It is pretty funny how the College gathers up the new recruits and tells them about the magic barrier spell or something; then haphazardly drives them into infamous, unsecured ruins. Although I guess shit only hits the fan cause of the presence of the player.
@@michaelpettersson4919They're like Akatosh's mobile lightning rod, freely smoozing Daedra and nuking the countryside clean, so as to meet their fate against Alduin.
I'm hands down loving this playthrough . It got me playing Skyrim again. Would also love a playthrough from Michael and Drew aka the daedrologist. Keep it up ! Can't get enough of this
I think you should do some of the beyond Skyrim mods. The beginning of this series was what Skyrim is like today vanilla now you've shown quality of life changes but perhaps now is the time to go beyond
The term "aging" doesn't quite sound right but I completely agree with the premise. I would say it took its toll. Perhaps While you're a vampire the pain from wounds is mostly numbed due to being undead, then the return to life suddenly allows you to feel all of it at once. Tremendous pain or stress can turn somebody's hair white years before it should. I could easily see a magical version of this doing it in 10 minutes.
Wow! I was skeptical of how you were going to turn the story around, Scott, but it’s truly compelling! I’m sorry that I ever doubted the wisdom of Fudgemuppet. I should’ve expected nothing less from some of the greatest story tellers of our time!
Binged all the way through this in the last week and gods I cant wait for the next episode! Askeladd is just such an amazing character and I can't wait to see where you take him next :D
You know, the Thalmor's ultimate plan is to "deactivate the world towers" to end Nirn and they seem to think all of the "world towers" are on Tamriel. I got to say that's unlikely because if these "world towers" are what holds up the world or something, then there got to be some on Akaviri or Atmora. I don't think the Gods would forget to put the "world towers" on those lands.
Yokuda had one, but it was sunk, Atmora had one, but when Altmora/The Elderwood was taken by Lorkhan and the Wanderers away from the Elves, and Lorkhan split the continent, Snow Throat was on the small souther portion that was left behind, that being Skyrim. Would explain how the Snow Elves and their ancestors always existed there but the Nords were also born there. Skyrim is the last remnant of the Elderwood, so the Throat of the World IS an Atmoran Tower, but left behind on Tamriel. As for Akavir and Pyandonea, well... that's anyone's guess.
New build idea: The Shadowmage. Ascendant of Azra Nightwielder, fully influenced by TES Travels Shadowkey. Can use the shadow spell package from nexus etc
Not sure if it's been mentioned earlier, but another Let's Play character who is in the Thieves Guild inside the same universe as Askeladd. Of course they'll never meet in game but that's where story telling and role-play come in
I absolutely love Askeladd man, I just can’t wait for the the next character to arrive when your finished with him. If not yours then maybe one of the other two guys can do a similar thing but all in all you guys just keep doing what your doing, I’ve been watching the content for something close to 6ish years and always love seeing the notif for my fudge boys
If I were to incorporate the Thieves guild into this character I would have done it before the Dark Brotherhood. But I’ve really enjoyed how the story of this character has played out. The cinematic story parts are fantastic.
I'm pretty sure that the reason that the count's wife in Oblivion died was because she refused to feed, so while she wouldn't die because she was a vampire, her refusal to feed still made her so weak that she fell into a coma. When she was cured, she no longer had vampirism as a crutch keeping her alive. She should have been dead based off of her energy level and strength, so she died. If a vampire was perfectly healthy when they're cured, I think they would be perfectly fine.
I kinda thought that was a given, if they didn't just forced feed her a damn blood potion while in the coma she'd be alive. Her vampirism was killing her while still keeping her alive, that's why Serana is still alive after being cured. Though at the same time Serana went hundreds of years without feeding all while asleep and she was fine. If the counts wife got blood potions from a willing person before she got cured I'm more than certain she would've been alive just a little longer
Imagine a Dragonborn that doesn't use shouts... LOL sometimes I forget too. Also the Psijic Order didn't take the Staff of Magnus but no one ever mentions that when talking about them taking the Eye.
the sage turn was a surprise move, good to see the evolution of Askeladd, it still amazes me to this day after all these years how you guys and Camel havent been hired by BGS, you lore knowledge as well a cinematography skills make them look like amateurs frankly lol on a different note, i had a thought about the final Alduin fight, in the previous ES games, after big events like the Oblivion Crisis that current era and began the 4th era, so would it not make sense now after Alduins defeat the 5th era would begin, if this isnt the case then would it be safe to assume that the video about the theory of the real reason for the last dragonborn could have evidence in is favour awesome job with the series so far, like most if not all of us, i am invested in Askeladds journey
I wonder if Askeladd will ever delve into the Thieves Guild or Companions storyline. At this stage of his development, would he really consort and fraternize amongst thieves and mercenaries? Going to Solstiem seems a bit final for this character, it's the final DLC after all. I wonder how the end of that quest line will tie into the other quest lines, if it ever does.
Great to see more of Askeladd but as much as I'd hope to see more, I'm more hopeful that you enjoy making these videos. Take care, FudgeMuppet, and thanks for all the terrific content!
I'm a bit late to the game here but I very much enjoyed this series and I hope you do more. As the overall goal of Askeladd is to free the reach it would be cool to see if there is a mod for it or maybe reach out to a mod maker to see if they can make one with a quest line to put the leader of the forsworn as jarl of markarth and Askeladd as his right hand man because it was he who got him the throne. Wonderful series. Probably the most unique I've seen and the story telling was superb. Again I hope to see more.
I'm fond of Red Eagle Reborn, which adds a ton to the Forsworn as a faction with their own unique culture, a full set of weapons both Forsworn and Ancient Reachman, and making the fight with Red Eagle much more worth it. Consuming his unique briarheart grants a flame cloak power and the ability to summon his spirit to your side. His crown also makes all Forsworn non-hostile to the player.
Ive always wondered about the lore of the feathered beast men who lived in cyrodil before the Aldmer arrived, in particular when Torval the Pilot came to cyrodil
Haven't watched much of the video yet so I don't know if you bring this up but this story arc actually reminds me of Khadgar and how he aged rapidly after pushing his magic far beyond its normal capacity, if I remember the lore correctly. He's far younger than he looks, but the extreme stress of what he went through drastically changed his physical appearance and I believe his physical strength. Either way, the parallel is really cool!
I created my own Askeladd playthrough. I gave him a more Breton sounding name. Although not especially religious Askeladd acknowledges the existence of all the aedric/daedric spirits. He's a reachman that worships Kyne above all spirits. I made his goals similar, restoring the reachman but to the extent that they take over all of Skyrim. He also likes to play the puppet master. He did side with the imperials during the civil war because it wasn't until Ulfric came along that the reachman fell apart to the extent that they had. He embraces his vampirism and his place at the head of a vampiric coven, and eventually leans away from a 2h and light armor setup to a spellcaster focusing in destruction/illusion with prebuffing with alteration/restoration spells. I like playing this character while watching the Askeladd playlist.
My latest take on this archetype is Morwen Silver-Hawk, a proud Daughter of the Reach. Her mother was one of Madanach's Forsworn when he originally took Markarth, and her father was the guard who opened the gates for him, and helped Morwen's mother flee Ulfric's men. In return, he was inducted into her clan and granted a new life as a Briarheart. Morwen herself spent her childhood in the Western Druadachs, on the High Rock side of the border. After coming of age, she spent a few years bouncing around Rivenspire and Wrothgar, learning more about the Nords, and getting close to the Orcs of the region, to the point of worshiping Malacath herself. On her twenty-fifth birthday, Morwen left High Rock, crossing the mountains and arriving at Druadach Redoubt, where she found the Forsworn divided and directionless, lashing out without rhyme or reason. After gathering her provisions, she left the Redoubt to get a better lay of the land, and lay the groundwork for her own ascension. Her dreams led her to Helgen, where she watched as Alduin made his return. With the aid of an affable scholar by the name of Lucien Flavius, Morwen made her way to Whiterun, where after some detours, she discovered her nature as Dragonborn. As she heard the Greybeards' call for her, her isle musings about uniting the Reach began to crystalize into a plan to become Ard. Her first order of business: The Thieves Guild, a network of spys and a talon on the pulse of Skyrim's economy, proving her worth by delivering all twenty-four Stones of Barenziah. Windhelm quickly fell into the pocket of the Thieves Guild, the better to undermine enemies both past and future. Once Windhelm was hers, she strolled into Markarth, where she uncovered the depths of the Silver-Blood's corruption, and freed the King in Rags and his cell from Cidhna Mine, returning to Druadach Redoubt clad in the Armor of the Old Gods, and being granted tattoos to mark her as a Daughter of the Reach, a shaman, and a mystic. After the Thieves Guild, Morwen will be drawn in by the Dark Brotherhood, honing her thief skills into a deadly Nightblade. Once the Emperor lies dead, Morwen will have a crisis of faith, and seek out the Companions to center herself before signing on with the Legion to take revenge on Ulfric Stormcloak. Once Ulfric falls by her hand, she will confront Alduin. Upon returning from Sovngarde, Morwen will become more contemplative, entering her Sage arc as she reconciles her experiences as Dragonborn with her Reachfolk heritage, and her plans for her homeland. At that point, she deals with the Eye of Magnus as well as the Volkihar Clan, using the lycanthropy gained from the Companions to great effect. In terms of build, Morwen is a fairly all-rounder. Her primary weapon is the Ghostblade, with Ruins Edge for range (she previously used the Bow of Shadows), and the Staff of Hasidoki as a reminder of her family's tradition of witchcraft. She may later start learning into Two-Handed once she joins the Companions. Her starting gear was the Leather Scout Armor, which she traded in for Thieves Guild leathers, and then switched to Linwe's Armor until she got the Armor of the Old Gods. In terms of magic, Morwen mostly buffs herself with Alteration and Restoration, while also dabbling in the other schools.
As soon as ancano confronts you a second time about psijic order asking to talk to you you can actually kick his ass really quick before u both walk upstairs and not get in trouble for it and sometimes it will actually progress that part of the story line for u hahaha thought it was pretty fukn funny.
Cinematics and narration are amazing again! College of Winterhold is my favorite place and storyline, but ofc i'm always bitter how much is cut out or not written well.. and I'm never really sad about what happens to the Arch Mage, he's quite redundant tbh.. 🤔
One fell swoop. Fell is a cool adjective, also the word grim. Very Tolkienesque. Fell describes evil or unholy, also terrible and powerful. Grim equals serious and somber. "the veteran, battle-wary riders, dark and grim, steadfastly approached the crumbling and rank ruins of ........ The insistant mist soaked through and dripped from their dark locks and weathered accouterments. The muddy slapping of hooves in the soft, sodden ground and the occasional muffled shifting armour and weapon being the only sounds above the perpetual wall of gray, saturating mist and low-moaning winds..ever closer, the shadowed and fell evil drew closer before them...
The only way I can see the Thieves Guild work at all for Askeladd is if his goal is to take it over to get the money needed to help fund the Reachmen-like help buy weapons or armor or whatever. He must feel like he takes over and is looked to as a leader for whatever group he joins so I think maybe wanting to get into the coffers of the Thieves Guild to help fund the Reachmen war effort might be something he would be interested in. Also stealing from those who stole from the Reachmen might be a boon to him.
Morekis mask doesn't have the shout reduction in vanilla, also it's heavy in base game. Maybe instead of going straight into dragonborn he's tired of being the chosen one in everything he does and goes to the thieves guild to hide from the public eye and responsibility. A sort of relapse into a dark place
Followed by the Companions to pull himself out of that relapse and to better understand honor (and Hircine). Then he gets confronted by the corruption of Miraak and the temptations of Herma Mora.
Hey awesome video, i don't know if you already have a mod list I'll check after this comment but i was wondering if all the mods you use currently are compatible with console. I love the look and feel of the gameplay
I do enjoy the Askeladd saga, thank you for the uploads. I see people in these comments comparing Skyrim unfavourably to Elden Ring, its an older game folks, for its time it was wonderful and still is if you play it with mods. A large worldspace with plenty to do without even touching main quests and tons of lore. I'm sure Elden ring is also wonderful but its a recent release with updated modern graphics. Each to their own but Skyrim is still a fun game and comparing it to a recent release seems a bit silly to me.
We going to see any new fallout 4 builds? I'd love to see a brotherhood scribe build. Or any brotherhood build that doesn't require power armor. And a Far Harbor specific build, like an old fisherman or something of the kind.
Should splice all the cutscenes together so we can see the full progression at the end. I'd be cool interested in watching a 30 so minute video off all you story telling moments together.
Maybe add in a few more to cover some aspects covered in gameplay, I don’t specifically remember how much of that is recapped in the cutscenes.
This. I'm not as interested in watching all the gameplay but would definitely watch a collection of cinematics recapping the story.

Askeladd with the Arch-Mage Robes and Chrysamere looks a lot like Felldir the Old (The Tongue who used the Elder Scroll to banish Alduin).
That cinematic intro was a masterpiece!👌
"...A killer, who only existed to kill."
Just masterful...
Askeladd is just wrecking Draugr Deathlords and Dwarven Centurion Masters in just 2-3 swings. Absolute unit.

Hey Scott, you should give Askeladd some downtime next episode, do some side quests maybe starting with Arniel's quest for Keening and then have the episode be kind of a short "wise wanderer" arc for him, some time to reflect on his dark past and his new found knowledge
I also suggest taking the Archmage's trial of Labyrinthian, would definetly give the feel that Askeladd is really getting into older traditions and it might be the answer to any self-doubt on his new position as Archmage

Pelinal would have approved that decapitation
As soon as ancano confronts you a second time about psijic order asking to talk to you you can actually kick his ass really quick before u both walk upstairs and not get in trouble for it and sometimes it will actually progress that part of the story line for u hahaha thought it was pretty fukn funny.
Bruh, we need more story reading from these dudes.
Cinematics and narration are amazing again!
College of Winterhold is my favorite place and storyline, but ofc i'm always bitter how much is cut out or not written well.. and I'm never really sad about what happens to the Arch Mage, he's quite redundant tbh.. 🤔
My god that modlist 🥵 I need to turn my Skyrim into that!
Just by the title I know this is gonna be good
No lollygaggin'...
Did you ever find out who stole my sweetroll?
@@defactoboomer8275 I hauled them off to Dragonsreach myself.
Big fan of the narrative cinematic direction you've been going
I'm not going to lie but Askeladd looks like Odinn.
waiting for the next one! Please, Scott, when does it come? :D
Foreshadowing the Herma Mora ending arc
Oh fuck, Askeladd's gonna unlock his Rinnegan
I love askaladds new look, he is legendary
Looking forward to seeing the conclusion
The only way I can see the Thieves Guild work at all for Askeladd is if his goal is to take it over to get the money needed to help fund the Reachmen-like help buy weapons or armor or whatever. He must feel like he takes over and is looked to as a leader for whatever group he joins so I think maybe wanting to get into the coffers of the Thieves Guild to help fund the Reachmen war effort might be something he would be interested in. Also stealing from those who stole from the Reachmen might be a boon to him.
Praise the Nine!
Wow just found this by chance... Didn't know it was a series... Makes me want to start at the beginning 🙂 loved the intro
I just want more Askeladd.
Yo perfect day to wake up at 5AM lol
gatsu
Even though it’s a little short, I’m glad it’s up.
I would like to see a fully modded play through some time.
The dynamo cores can be used in the midden with sigil stone to craft daedric weaponry and armors. Also staves and all kinds of things
That dragon priest mask has been altered as well with a certain mod you hav on, it was normally just magicka regen buff
1:12:41 This cinematic music for Askeladd is exceptional
The opening oration was outstanding.
Nice. I checked for a new video and it was just uploaded. Pog
Is there a list of the mods used in this playthrough somewhere?
I'm trying to find it too but most of it comes from Heavy Burn's modlist, I don't know what character overhaul they use though.
@@brian.phillips1985 Nordic faces I think. Maybe WICO if I'm wrong. Compare the faces from each mod and you should find out.
Watching all your Askeladd play through while modding the shit out of Skyrim lol
YES!!!! My boy Askeladd is back!
21:15 I had to look up how to do that puzzle my first time ngl.
You need to steal the Jagged Crown and make that the crown of the forsworn as you would call yourself the "true king of skyrim"
Said y'all were gonna drop videos more often for us... Where they at??? Feels like death waiting a week for a new FM video
