Omg!! I got my Cricut for Christmas and was so excited to start creating...lmao...boy you really said it in this video! But I am so glad I found your channel! You are very straight forward and no theatrics! I love how real and personal your tutorials are! But thank you , you have saved me from many tear filled and frustrating moments!
Thank you, your videos are so helpful. I love your mistakes......keeping it real. I appreciate them because it shows the reality of what can happen during a project.
I don’t EVER comment on videos of any sort, but I really had to comment and tell you... THANK YOU for talking a little about when you first got your Cricut... the cussing, the crying and how it was not so easy to learn like all these other videos make it seem. I’ve had my Cricut a few months, I thought I’d get it and magically be able to just do everything... how hard could it be right?! Hahaha.... it’s like learning a new job and no one talks about it! Thank you, even just for a small mention on that.
I bought my cricut a month ago and have been so overwhelmed by it all, almost regretting the purchase. I have looked at many videos however you explain it so that I understand. I just made my first project which isa stencil. I’ll be painting it tomorrow but feel confident I can do this. Thank you sooooo much!
Thank you so much for your videos! I watched over 30 videos from Cricut and didn't learn as much as I did watching just two of yours! I have already subscribed to your channel. I bought mine for a similar reason, for my own wedding favors. Thank you again!!!
I've been watching you channel for HOURS now. My new Cricut will bee here Friday and I've only used a dinosaur Cricut twice. So thank you, all your videos are so helpful!!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much for posting :) I also love that you're being honest about frustration and cussing along the process LOL I do that too! Thanks again!
Oh gosh! I have been making signs for a few years here and there and I just dread going back to it because I’d the headache it can be. You talking through your mistakes totally cleared up how to fix mine! Thank you for breathing new life into my ambition for sign making.
this video is very helpful. i can definitely relate to this. my cricut machine has definitely thought me another level of patience!! good job with this .
Thank You Thank You Thank You ...your videos are so refreshing compared to some, you stay on track without jumping around and losing your audience I like that you express your anxiety with this as well so I myself don’t feel so alone LOL. I am brand new to the cricut world and I am still very intimidated by the whole process and this video is the only video I have not stopped or left to watch another. Again THANK YOU
I am almost a year in and still feel like I’m figuring out the Cricut! Came across your channel and LOVE it! Late night cricut tutorials are the best 😀
Nice tutorial, very informative. You explained everything to a "T" which is very helpful. I am new to Cricut Maker so every little bit of info I can get I am sucking up like a sponge. I do quite a bit of wood projects like wood burning but really want to get into making signs and stencils. I can incorporate my wood burning with stenciling like making borders or custom signs using both crafts. def will be looking for more of your work. Kudos to you!
Thank you for your detailed and patient video! I've had my Cricut for 9 months, and have yet to open it, due to intimidation! Lol. We are thawing out in the midwest, so I'm going to break it out tomorrow! I'll definitely be back to see what else you do!
The sign looks great. I would have turned it so the bottom curve was at the top and the flat edge would then be on the bottom - just so it wouldn't roll when on the mantle. Great paint job...impressive! x
Just got a cricut maker recently also. Your video was well done and I look forward to trying to figure out this monster over time. I have done quite a few projects like this but all the painting has been done by hand. One trick I have done for walls, murals, and wooden signs etc is using a projector. I create my template, picture font etc and then place my projector, trace it out with a charcoal pencil on wood, then paint and outline with sharpie paint markers where I want it. Look forward to seeing what the cricut can do for my upcoming projects.
@@thecraftscraps It has been a journey. Have you done ant videos for stenciling a terra cotta pot. Trying to figure out the curve to make it look straight on the pot has been a huge challenge. Doing this teaches a lot about when you can use curve and when you just did something that deactivates the curve feature. Honestly, I have laugh at myself more than I have pulled my hair out. Last night I thought I had it, shirt of the curve being off, and realized I was using strong grip transfer tape, could not separate tape from stencil 😳, I suppose this will give me the opportunity to work on the curve “again”. Thank you so much for letting me know about your new video, I will be sure to watch. Have an awesome day.
My hubby just bought me one for Mother’s Day, and can’t wait to use it. Thank you for making that look so easy. And the step by step was great, You make it very easy to understand as well.
Excellent video! Thank you for the step by step. After several hours trying on my own (unsuccessfully), I was able to create my project without any hitches after watching your video. The welding and slicing is what caught me up before your explanation.
I just got a new cricut air 2 and I am learning so much from your videos. I was intimidated until I found your videos. I am working with HTV now and lovin it! Your teaching style is what works for me! Thanks so much for including me on your cricut journey. You have put a lot of time and work into your videos too! I appreciate that you share your knowledge!
This was an amazing video!! Thank you!! I did end up having to use modge podge for a rough piece of wood after the first and second attempt bled. But 3 times is a charm!!
A tip I learned! If you mess up a stencil instead of throwing it away save it in case you loose any of the pieces in your other stencils you can use the spares from the old one! I’m always loosing those little dots and pieces! Also on wood colors instead of modpodge use a thin layer of polycrylic before you paint it it’s clear so you won’t get as much bleeding 🙌🏻 also I use an exacto to weed it’s sharp and smaller so it can get in those little spaces easy!
Oh God.. my cricut arrived this week.. still in the box.. I've been watching hours of UA-cam videos on how to set it up .. how to use design space .. etc.. I'm excited and scared all at the same time.. my life is stressful enough and I don't want to add to it but I want to make signs and use it to help with my crafting and decorating.. I know I"m going to just have to do it one of these days ... I'm goind to try to stay calm .. Maybe Stay Calm will be my first sign.. lol
Great help ! My question is why not let the paint dry a bit more? wouldn't that make it easy for less mistakes, I am one of those people who like to try and get things just right. I do really want to say thank you as this is the best video I have seen!
Lauren you are awesome I could not wrap my head around making a stencil it seemed backwards and I kept Not even thinking of trying it but you made total sense of it I may fumble a lil but at least I get it now thanks so much ❤️
Thank you so much!! I just ordered my Cricut Maker this week, and I’m learning soooo much from your Channel! Thank you! Do you sell things as your main income?! 💜
I watched your video and just have a question. How do you make a stencil if you have several words on a larger sign? Would you make a stencil for each line? For example: I have a saying with 7 words that I want on three lines.
Can you do lettering the other way? Didn’t explain that very good. Letters that are placed and painted around them to have the letters without paint if that makes sense.
Haha I love you being so honest that you use a lot of cuss words so cool!! So helpful thank you again!!

Finally! A video that shows how to properly peel the vinyl without the paint peeling off!

Thank you so much for showing me how to slice how to make a stencil you make it look so easy beautiful job!

Thank you so much! I have tons of videos!!
Lauren thank you so much your video is excellent. I watched both and I feel ready to make my wood sign using vinyl stencil. Thanks
You make it look so easy.
I enjoyed your tutorial on stencils and painting!

This video was extremely helpful! I’m planning on making all the signs for my wedding (which is why I got my cricut)
Ditto !
So glad to hear you bought your Cricut for the same reason I did. The wedding was 9/4/2020, still haven’t finished the gift 😩.
You got this!! I JUST finished another stencil video check it out ❤️ PS I got married on 9/5/20 !

Honestly the most relatable cricut videos I’ve ever watched. Thank you!!!
sarah Plavchak thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You make this look so easy.
Enjoyed your video!
I have really enjoyed your videos. You are so easy to follow and I love the fact that everything doesn't always go perfectly for you! Keep crafting!
Stress level shot through the roof watching you weed after you painted! Awesome job! You make it look so easy.
me too! I thought for sure the paint on the vinyl was going to touch the board!
I love your videos-clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much. I just got a Cricut this Christmas and still trying to figure it out😬
Just got my first Cricut and i'm looking forward to using it

Tricia Conrad yayyyyyy !
Thank you for making it look so easy. Wasn’t too intimidating and I think I’m ready to make one on my own. 👍🏼💜
Diane Langhus you got this
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO I'm new at this and excited to learn it as much as i can. i sure am going to try this for a wedding gift.
This is awesome. I got it! Thank you for posting.
Awesome, thank you for the help!
Beautiful!!! You give me much incentive, even though it looks intimidating!
Awesome video!
press n seal cling wrap also works really well for transfer tape!

So helpful! Just what I needed.
Just got my Cricut a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for the help!
Your videos are super helpful, thank you!! I just got my machine set up two days ago and am excited to start following along to what you are doing.
Great Tutorial! Can’t wait to try this!

i super love your videos. so easy to follow! thanks a bunch!
Man can’t wait til mine come in
This is going to be very helpful! I'm planning on painting my bicycle and have the original logo in it to give it a factory feel to it
Very helpful, thank you !
I have been on the fence about buying a Cricut, bu now i definitely need one LOL Loved this video!
Cristina Reyes thanks!! Definitely take the plunge!

Thank you for acknowledging the waste, blunders and cuss words.....but we still love our cricut!

I like that. Stay calm. LOL! Blessings to you and your circuit making!
Thanks you so much, your amazing. I struggled for the longest.
Love your Videos!! Do you have a video on how to make entrance signs with vinyl!
That was really awesome! Great video. I'm so ready to try it! LOL
Getting that vinyl off without smudging the paint onto the wood from my hands is the main challenge for me.
Thankkkkkkkk Youuuuuu! Sooooooo Muchhhhhhh! God Bless!
Brilliant video. This has helped me so much with some handmade crafts for Christmas :-)
Thank you so much...this was very helpful
Do you ever use sponge to apply paint? Dabbing motion ? Thanks for the videos 😊
Just starting out, you make it look so simple
Great stencil tutorial for the stencil and sign. Thanks!
hi , have you ever used the artist loft level 1 paint as a base coat and use cricut vinyl stencil over top?
Seems to be a lot for only one use but thanks for sharing. Looks nice
How did you prevent bleeding??
Thanks! You made that look easy!
do you seal the sign with mod podge or something else?
What kind of transfer tape do you recommend using ? Or maybe the link to the kind you get off of amazon 😊
Can I use contact paper instead of transfer paper?
Great help ! My question is why not let the paint dry a bit more? wouldn't that make it easy for less mistakes, I am one of those people who like to try and get things just right. I do really want to say thank you as this is the best video I have seen!
You can let it dry slightly but peeling while damp prevents the paint from cracking ❤️
@@thecraftscraps Thank you that makes sense
What kind of vinyl did you use?
Wonderful tutorial. What did you do to the wood before you started? What color and brand of stain is it?
Becky Rossman just stained it with minwax! I can’t remember the color maybe espresso or something
Thank you so much. This made sense
Lauren you are awesome I could not wrap my head around making a stencil it seemed backwards and I kept
Not even thinking of trying it but you made total sense of it I may fumble a lil but at least I get it now thanks so much ❤️
Thank you so much!! I just ordered my Cricut Maker this week, and I’m learning soooo much from your Channel! Thank you! Do you sell things as your main income?! 💜
Nope i work full time for a city!
This is extremely helpful! Do you seal it with anything if it is for indoors?
Yay! No I typically don’t if it’s indoors
Thanks
Where did you get the wood from? And do you have a frame for it ?
well its good to know I am not the only one having trouble with that process
Just a little tip it's a bit easier if you peel the vinyl from top right hand corner all the best
Thanks this is very helpful!
Could you reuse the stencils? If so how do you store them?
Do you use 631 vinyl for stencils or 651?
I watched your video and just have a question. How do you make a stencil if you have several words on a larger sign? Would you make a stencil for each line? For example: I have a saying with 7 words that I want on three lines.
What brand of vinyl stencil did you use?
how long do you wait? it seem's you pealed it off right after applying.
Yep you don’t peel when it’s dry - peel while wet!
Can you do lettering the other way? Didn’t explain that very good. Letters that are placed and painted around them to have the letters without paint if that makes sense.
Is this a one time use or can you reuse like the chalk contour stencils??
Do you use the removable vinyl for the stencil? I have been having trouble getting it to stick to stained wood. Any recommendations?
Did you ever figure out of removable vinyl works better
Have you done multi-color items?
I loved your demonstration. I have had my circuit for over a year and had no idea how to start.
what do you think about spraying it when it's done with a clear coat
Della Rhoads you could totally do that! If you’re using white paint though make sure you get a water based clear coat
