This video is by FAR the best tutorial for everything sign making. I have started a very small business for making signs and I couldn't find the exact depth that would work for a sign and also your techniques for applying the stencil were awesome! Thank you so much!!!!
I love the fact that you are so detailed from start to finish in this video. Being that I'm a visual learner this has helped tremendously. Thank you for sharing. Your sign is beautiful. ❤
Very cool way of making wood signs, loved how you took time to show us how you did it from start to finish. Do u have a video on how much you sell stuff for? Im just starting out with signs and plaques and i come across issues on how much to charge for things. I appreciate your videos and you really do great work. Thanks again foe this video, happy crafting.
Sally, I just love watching you and I believe you’re channel is going to grow fast. I’m learning so much from you. I love that you did this video. Thank you!!
Your channel is my absolute favourite! I love your positivity and energy! I am always watching your videos while crafting (I use a Cricut) but your videos are still so useful! I love finding other UA-cam crafters! 💕
Thank you so much again for sharing your amazing hard work. I got my small compressor and nail gun like yours!!!! So excited. I am going to try the spray paint method myself. Your amazing. I appreciate you and your work. Thank you again. God bless you and many more blessing for you and your family.
Thanks for sharing this, great information just a tip from a fellow woodworker May be to make your cutting go faster, but maybe you already do this is to cut 2 boards of the same length at once on the miter saw to one get them the same length, go faster and less measuring
I truly appreciate you taking your time to show us how you do this! You’ve given me so many tips on things that I need to change. I never thought about using spray paint either. I can’t wait to use some of your tips
Sallie your are such a lovely woman for showing this in such great detail. Your a great inspiration to me and my wood sign business that I recently started, you make it all seem so easy! How you run your business full time and make these videos all while having a young family is beyond me your amazing lol. Just a pity here in Northern Ireland we can't get some of the materials you can in the US. Happy New Year x
Thank you SO much for sharing your valuable experience. I am considering starting a framed sign business in the very near future and I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon your channel!
I just love watching your videos you are such a professional. You are so talented you can do anything, thank you for sharing. I wish you all the success in your business. God Bless you and your family
Such a great video! very detailed. Thank you so much for sharing. How much does your sign weigh? just trying to figure out how much it would be to ship wood signs.
I learned so much from this video! Thank you so much for sharing. I am hooked and a new subscriber. Looking forward to whatever is next. Bless you, in your business and with those sweet babies!
Hi. I just recently found your channel and I am eating up your videos as fast as I can. Is there any chance you want to video on how you use your planer. I know you said you don’t need one to start but it makes it easier on sanding and I have some strength problems and dexterity issues with my hands so I want to know if I should get a planer even though it’s kind of out of my budget. I would be interested in knowing how long you have to sand some thing to get it paint or stain ready when you use the planer versus when you don’t. I thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos. They are very informative and your teaching style is just perfect for my learning style, LOL Be well and stay safe!
Thank you so much for this video. I have literally just gone and bought the wood for the sign over here in the UK and was double checking the size you used for yours as my 2 x1 looks too big. After seeing the video I can see it's going to be ok. 😀
Such a good video! Every time you post one I’m like baabbbbeee we need to go to Home Depot lol. Can you make one about your peg board? I have been contemplating for two months now if I want one about my desk and cricut but no idea if I even need anything behind it or what
Thank you sooooo much for this video!! It was so detailed & informative! 👍🏽 This has truly given me the motivation that I needed to get started on making wood signs! 😊
Thank you SO much for sharing all of your knowledge! I have a sign drying from a stencil now for a member of our family. I used the folk art acrylic. How long would you allow it to sit before peeling the stencil off? What about applying a different stencil with a different color paint on top?
Hi Sallie, I came across your channel last night and have already watched most of it. Thanks for posting such great content. I also use a 4 inch foam roller to paint my boards, but sometimes when it dries I see some roller lines..not sure if it's my painting technique. Does that happen on your boards too? It's more noticeable when it's a black background. Thanks!
Absolutely perfect! 💗 Thank you mucho for sharing your wealth of knowledge, it’s so unbelievably helpful. I’m definitely going to get a small compressor because I see it makes a world of a difference with the brad nails going into the frame. That is the part I struggle with the most, I can never seem to get the brad nails flush and it’s a whole ordeal! I also got really thin plywood and that’s been a nightmare trying to get the nails perfectly into the wood 😖 Do you put press and seal or something into your paint tray for the roller, for easy clean up?
Sallie, I’m loving your videos! I’m just up the road from you in Greenville and my husband works for TTI! He just got me a new battery operated nailer - it’s a 23 gauge and so easy to use! Check that out - eliminates the need for the air compressor!
I'm so happy I found you! I just got a cricket for Christmas! I always wanted to make signs like these, im so excited to make mistakes and learn till I get it right! ❤ Your videos are so clear and understandable! It really gives me hope!
Thank You for sharing! We’re in Indiana so it’s too cold to spray paint, but might have to try it this spring and summer ❤️ Seems like such a time saver.
Hello, thanks for this awesome video!! Are you still using this method to this Day? Do you think using spray paint is more expensive or same as using regular paint?
Hi Sallie, your sign came out beautiful like all of your creations. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and methods. I am going to try the spray paint method soon instead of the vinyl that we are currently using. I will try to send you a picture of some of our creations that we have made with the Chalkboard Paint as the background. I am curious how that would work with the spray paint. Thank You for all you do on this channel.
Sally, thank you for sharing all your information and tips, I’m learning so much from you by watching your vlogs. It’s simple, informative and you make it fun. 🤗😍. What kind of wood do you use?
I love this. Your sign is so beautiful. I can't wait to try and make my own. The question, I live in Canada and get cold winter's of -30 and more, for the sign for outside, will it crack do you think. I know the sign today is for inside, I was just curious. thank you in advance. You do such amazing and beautiful stuff. Thanks for sharing
Sallie this video was amazing! When you are measuring your stencil to make sure it’s on straight & even, how do you that when some of the letters are taller or shorter? Like what do you look for or is there an easy way?
Why do you prefer cutting your stencils and then painting them on your sign vs. printing the letters in vinyl and pressing them on?? Love your channel!
Do you do real wood signs, if so, how do you prevent the wood from warping, what kind of wood do you use and how do you store it? Thanks for this video, huge help!
I know this video isn't new but I just watched it :) I was wondering, even though you didn't ship this one, how you'd go about shipping a sign like this? Thank you so much! Great video!
Watching the video again and am intrigued by the miter saw cart. What is your plywood screwed to tho? Looking at the picture online of the cart and I can’t see that there is anything to secure it to......
Hi Sallie! I have to ask! I tried to pay attention to see closely but I was not able to tell. What sawhorse do you use? Thanks in advance girl! You rock!!!!
Love, Love, Love your videos.... can’t wait to watch more... just wondering I’m a new Cricut user and just wanting to know can I also cut without a mat... please keep the Videos coming!

True talent!
My saw is identical. We bought a smaller tooth saw blade and I've noticed a huge difference in the cut. So much cleaner!!
Great video! Thanks. I feel confident that I can now make my own signs. Good job.😍

Happy New Year. I wish you much success and joy in the New Year.
Thank you! Same to you!
Love this method, can’t wait to try it. Thanks
Put your foam roller in a ziploc bag after!! They last forever, they never dry and go bad!!! I have one for every color I use!
This is amazing, i will have to try this because I forget to wash them sometimes and they dry out! Thank you!
This is such great advice!! I started doing that as soon as I seen this comment and it’s perfect!!! Thank you!
@@bgreen6991 do you rinse first or just leave the paint in the roller?
@@bgreen6991 I put mine in a ziploc bag in the fridge. They last forever.
Why do you use a stencil? Why not just use vinyl for the words?
Love it!!!! What would would you recommend for outdoor?!
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for sharing your process. You are very generous and kind to do so.
This is great! I’m having trouble with the design actually cutting too deep or not at all. Any suggestions? TIA!

Have you tried the iron on vinyl on wood, yet? If not, maybe try it on your next live.
