Secret Santa surprises couple who took in 4 children following the tragic death of their parents

- The number of children in Dan and Lana Weber’s home suddenly doubled earlier this year after tragedy struck their family twice.
The Madison County couple has five children - Landan, Samantha, Dalan, Mason and Emma.
Lana’s brother, Darin Hammond, died of suicide at the age of 46 on Nov. 1, 2017.
He and his wife, Emilia, were the parents of four children - Symphony, Gavin, Halle, and Eva.
Five months after Darin’s death, Emilia died of suicide at the age of 43 on April 5.
Dan and Lana instantly opened their home to their nieces and nephew - and they are now parenting nine children.
It’s been a year of change for all of the children but the family has remained positive and full of faith during this time of adjustment.
Secret Santa asked the EastIdahoNews.com elves to visit the Weber’s home and surprise them with an early Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see what happened.
The husband did not name his own children first, he named them according to age order, and that in itself is so special cause he thinks of them as important as his own biological children. For every sad event, there is a silver lining, people with tremendous character will rise to the occasion, unfortunately, you only see them when tragedy strikes. This is such a deserving family. I wish them all the best!

Boy that’s amazing that dad remembered all the ages. Some people can’t even remember one kids birthday.

@Willfrye1980 Agree I was in shock reading this...and reading so long after....had it happened to my kids after the father's suicide I'd have done everything to try keep the family together....but she chose the easy way out to ease her pain and left the kids orphans. In high school, one of my classmates lost both her parents in a plane crash. It was a Friday and we were in the gym for a pep assembly, marching band playing, everybody cheering, and then it got silent as the Principal and Vice Principal walked up to her and led her out of the gym. No one knew until the evening news that night what had happened. She moved in with an Aunt and Uncle in a different school district.

I know I'm six years late to this video but after everything that happened to this family, I just want to acknowledge Lana's words. "It's been a good year. It's been hard, we've had a lot of loss this past year. We've had a good year with bringing the families together and we've really, really enjoyed having our nieces and our nephew in our home with us. They've been such a joy and such a blessing to our family. Enjoy every minute and love your family. Hold them close and live in the moment." And then she said "I wish I had great words of wisdom." You already did, Lana. I hope you and Dan and your extended family are all doing well, you seem like the most wonderful people.

What a deserving family. The 'adoptive' parents have the biggest hearts, you know they didn't hesitate a moment to take in their nephews and nieces. And what a tragedy with the biological mother and father, both dead by suicide. I can't imagine what the kids are going through, I hope they will find peace and joy eventually.

I lost my parents as well, and me and my grandma have been struggling for the past 3 years since my grandpa died, then a year that day my mom left, and a year THAT day my great grandma died, but this brings me joy seeing other families come together and come this far, keep going. That’s all you can do.

This is the second one of these I've watched, and this is the second LDS family. Whether you agree or disagree with their religion, it says a LOT about the type of people in that Church, that so many of their friends and neighbors nominate them to be recognized for their life-altering selfless acts.
Religion has nothing to do with it, anyone in their right mind would do anything they could to help kids and take them in if needed.

@@BRUtahn Many of these towns in East Idaho like Rexburg are more than 90% Mormon. Rexburg has a population of 28,000 and has 3 LDS churches. Anyway, the people who live there seem to be very kind.
