  • The Taurus G3C out of the box didn't work for me - it was one of the few bad apples - after a warranty trip back to Bainbridge Georgia it's finally back. Did Taurus fix their issue with the G3C? We revisit the pistol to talk about how the G3C performs now that Taurus has gotten to breathe on it again.

Praise the Lord. I love the book of proverbs like the book of Romans. I basically read from Roman to Jude continuously for the past 35+ years. NLT new living translation is a real kick in the back side. Then about once a year I drop back to the old testament to proverbs. Thanks for "YOUR WITNESS". see you at home. Peace. 🙂

I was concerned on the factory's repair. Small hickups don't mean a gun is junk. Failure to correct is what causes headaches. My G3c has about 500 rds threw it with no problems. I don't use reloads and only high end ammo. It's primarily for home defense so I wasn't looking for a gold plated super weapon. thanks for the honest review. I think I'll keep mine.

Bought 2 of these for me and wife. We had the same issue with failure to extract only with steel cased ammo. The issue is the barrel chamber having a matte finish. I used a Dremel with a polishing bit with McGuire's wheel polish and to date we've not experienced any more issues. Great gun once you give a little working over.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv very easy, remove the barrel and you'll see where the bullet casing sits inside the barrel...called a chamber. Place a small amount of polishing compound on a cloth rotary bit. Once done, use a cloth towel to wipe away the excess compound. I've had no issues with brass or steel case ammo. It's my everyday carry gun...I have guns 3 times the cost and the Taurus works just as well.

If he wants to be honest in his review he could state how he didn't clean the gun before firing....Which may have actually caused some of the issues he had. That any gun person should have picked up on the gumminess, of the chamber had he worked the action slowly to see where the problem came into play. A gun isn't meant to fire straight out of the box. You need to clean it's packing grease thoroughly from all components then lubricate with a light gun oil, or silicone. Then cycling the action by hand to see if you had achieved proper lubrication. Let's be honest just because a person can shoot doesn't mean the review is always honest....I find a lot of these issues fall on failure of the shooter. Given my background been shooting since age 5, and doing firearms instruction for 17 years. Turning non shooters into shooters within 2-3 hours of step by step instruction. I have a 95% success rating meaning only fail 5% due to their inability to control a firearm safely. This includes long time shooters who think they know what they are doing. Truthfully all shooters need a manual safety....There is absolutely no such thing is my finger is the safety. I seen careless shooters shoot themselves including police officers. Having been shot in the leg by one of these so called careless shooters.....it is the number one reason I will fail you.

@@Jimbowiejr safety is my number one priority while shooting. Once you fire a round you can't call it back. So therefore you are now left with the consequence of a stupid action. Many of these are avoidable if you treat a gun with respect, know how it functions inside and out, and you never let your guard down for a second.

This guy is a disabled fool. He literally just said it's double action only. It's single action, with a second strike capability. So it's single action unless it has a light primer strike, then it has double action. If you look, it's not the same length of pull on the striker for the two modes either. . How he can't tell the difference is beyond me. There is a significantly lighter pull in single action mode. This guy is an ogre. He's useless and he doesn't own tools to measure firearms , like doll calipers, to check tolerances. Hea a fool. This is the downfall of UA-cam. It doesn't matter if it's a great gun or a bad gun, he's an idiot and cant give a reasonable assessment. He thinks shooting competitions determine his competency to assess firearms, and they don't. He knows nothing about firearm mechanics. Otherwise he would own a doll caliper to check tolerances. He's dumb.

Usually bad reviews are based on flaws of the actual reviewer not the weapon. A guns packing grease is meant for shipping not for shooting purposes....leaving a gun with this then firing it will always cause failures cause it is sticky in nature. This is why I strip a gun degrease it then lubricate with silicone or a light gun oil before firing. It greatly reduces the chance of an issue occurring.

It wasn’t a Lakeline issue because they gave him a perfectly sized barrel! It turns out other G3C had no issues! The barrel fit affects the accuracy of your shot and Lakeline makes precision fit barrels for Glock as well! It turns out that Taurus isn’t precision fit to allow barrels to fit interchangeably between G series! Your reviews are fair and a subject matter expert! Keep up your great videos! I've been considering purchasing one of these to replace my Ruger LCPll .380. My one and only experience with Taurus was not a good one. Way back in the late 1990s, I was a licensed firearms dealer. I ordered a Taurus .357 mag revolver for a local law enforcement officer. He brought it back to me, complaining that the empty brass was getting stuck in the cylinder. I checked it out by firing several different loads of my own. Sure enough, the cases were expanding to a point of stress fractures and they had to be pounded out of the cylinder. I used an inside micrometer to check the diameter of the holes in the cylinder, which confirmed that the holes had been drilled out too large. Since officer was going to carry this gun as his on duty sidearm, I reimbursed him the full purchase price and then sent this defective gun back to Taurus; expecting them to send me a replacement new gun. Nope! They just replaced the cylinder and sent the same gun back to me; requiring me to now sell it again, but as a used weapon. I lost quite a bit of money on this sale and left a bad taste in my mouth for Taurus. Later, I discovered that Taurus guns are made in Brazil at factories which were abandoned by Smith & Wesson. Brazil was a dictatorship and the government took over these factories and began cranking out S&W clones; but with very little fit & finish or attention to detail. Their guns were often full of defects like this and little things like metal burrs on moving parts, etc; making them very unreliable weapons. I wonder if their build quality has improved much since then?

Your story is wrong, in the time Taurus was doing "copies" of the S&W both brands were actually part of the same company, so it's not a clone or illegal copy, it was actually just an authorized variation since both companies worked together at the time. Taurus was already doing guns long time before that, but their game become bigger when they bought the Beretta factory in São Paulo, Brazil, with all the machinery and guns schematics, it was a fair business transaction and there was no government involvement, so I don't know where did your story come from.

That was the rap on Taurus in the '90's and even early 2000's. I believe their Bainbridge operations and the retooling of the Brazilian manufacturing facilities has corrected those and similar problems. They've been working hard to overcome their earlier woes and for the most part (my opinion) are close to outliving the bad reputation. Their customer service lines are indeed, slow and less than proficient. But as an owner of 5 Taurus offerings, from 2014 forward, I've had no issues with function and no needs for service. Ok, I actually like Taurus, have many of them, G2C's, G3, G3C's, TX's, etc., but I've got many of everything else too (Colt, Glock, S&W, Ruger, and so on). I got a special buy one for $299, get one free deal, so I got 2 G3C's, I think from one of their early runs. Neither gun worked. Failures to feed, fails to fire, fails to eject, horrible experience. Sent them both back to factory, they returned about three weeks later, with explanations as long as my arm about what they fixed (customer service was good). One now runs great, the second one won't even chamber a round. It's just sittin on the shelf, like a piece of junk, until I have the chance to send it back again. I'll remain a Taurus customer, but from now on I'll wait a year or two before I buy their newest product, and let you guys on the gun channels debug them first. (The G3C that came back fixed, has been a great gun, with no hickups).

I have 2 G2c's and had problems with both and one was so bad I sent it back for repair and got a very shoddy repair that didn't eliminate the problems and I ended disassembling the gun and filing and polishing everything to get it to work reasonably well, but I don't trust it and relegate it to the range because of that. You know, if these $300(or less) guns came out with good features, good construction, good design, and just as good a reliability as all the $500+ ones, you'd not be blamed for thinking someone might have been ripping you off for all these years. (I say that as a Glock owner for 20 years) I think having a wonky one pop up every now and again, if the manufacturer takes care of it fairly reasonably, is perfectly acceptable. Anyone with any sense puts a couple hundred rounds to vet any new non-toy firearm, the time to find problems is before you need it and all that. For the money I'm not bothered by this at all and it's still an impressive amount of gun for $300. Especially with a lifetime warranty. I'm going to thoroughly clean it and polish the feed ramp into the chamber and see if that corrects the issue. Any ideas on the issue is appreciated... Thanks for your post!

Damned Fantastic Review! I remembered the first video you did, with the G3c and how it failed to eject. It was a damn joke! You had no other choice, you had to suspend the review. That one pistol out of the batch, was definitely defective. Good job, keep up the good work. Be Safe!

You have nothing to be explaining about.
The G3 you had did not work for you.
The amount of ridiculous comments in the first video was hilarious.
    The gun DID NOT work.
    You showed us.
At the end of this video, when you showed the reloads ,I went uh..oh...all the Taurus's I ever fired ....hated having range reloads being fired in them...all of them.
Something about the Brazilian 9mm metric chamber versus the American interpetation of the 9mm metric size in the reload dies...I guess
I own two Taurus G2c pistols and only use new Magtech 124 grn fmj rounds which run excellent and are very accurate too.
All the Taurus's I ever owned and shot liked quality , brand new ammo.
You want to shoot reloads ,it's better to buy a Smith or a Ruger.

If you think that’s loud, try a .357 mag snubbing. Glad to see an honest review.

I own 5 Taurus pistols, and one of them didn't fire 30 rounds before the sear failed causing full auto mag dump. That was a TH40c, I've sent 1,000 rounds down range with ZERO issues with my TH40 full size, well over 4,000 rounds flawlessly through my PT111 G2, 3,000 rounds flawlessly through my G3, and 3,000 rounds flawlessly through my TX22.
