2000+ rounds through my G3c, the only failure I have experienced was a few miss feeds from an aftermarket 18 round magazine. That was operator error as I didn't pack the rounds to the back with a quick mag tap. Outside that, it has ate every single cheap and expensive round I could scrounge up during this ammo shortage. Steel, brass, hollow points, critical duty, 115gr, 124gr, and 147gr. This gun is flawless. Yours must have been a lemon.
Yeah exactly. What Taurus people have been trying to tell yall forever but you wont listen. There is a chance you get a great one but there is also a huge chance you get a lemon. Taurus lemons are everywhere. One reason why used Taurus guns are so cheap is because people know this and dont buy used Taurus guns.
I am a Sig lover, period. I carried a 1911a1 in the Army for 28 years. I like guns that always go bang at the right time. My carry gun has been a Sig 938. My son talked me into a Taurus G3c. I spent $229.00 at Rural King for it. I was expecting a jam-o-matic. What I got was a great little pistol that shot everything I could stuff in it. ZERO failures of any kind. One comment; the gun runs best well lubricated.
Wow man, this video literally showed me that this gun is worth every dollar, just by reading those comments! Best gun feedback from the people ever! Thanks everyone for commenting your experience with this gun
TheHumbleMarksman Totally wrote that before realizing there’s a landslide of similar comments. I greatly appreciate your video. I didn’t mean to pile on! Hey, I get this pistol in about a week and I’ll run some rounds through it. You might be totally right!🤷🏽♂️.. I appreciate you sharing your experience with the gun
I gotta agree with Brent and most of the other commentators that you just got a rare bad one. The G3c really isn't a "new" pistol on the market. The Millenium G2 is virtually the same pistol, I've heard you can swap the slides, and has been around since 2013. I have one and have run a few thousand reloads through it. Both round nose and hollow point reloads, WWbox, and Federal HST as my carry load, never a problem. The G3c addresses some of the "cheapy" quality complaints people have had round a plastic trigger and sights and sight options, but otherwise this thing just runs. I bought a G2C used and also no problems. I am 5-8 normal sized hands so it does fit me better than it would you. The "possible" engaging the safety accidental, has never happened to me both training from appendix holster nor from just practice shooting. I also think this is the first time I've heard anyone even think that could possibly happen. Also like others have said every manufacture has a bud gun get through QC now and then. And then you have bad runs like Sig with the 365. I'll reserve my like or dislike for your follow-up video but you may want to have someone "normal sized" shoot it if you are going to give a honest review.
eLKy 15 In the USA we have a law with cars called the lemon law. Basically if the car keeps having problems and the dealership can’t fix the car after 3 attempts the manufacturer has to by the car back.... ..... you got a lemon 🍋
eLKy 15 The gun is real.... not fake. It’s like anything else that you buy and is broken. It needs to be sent back to Taurus for repair. I actually have one of these. A older version and works great. Actually it’s very hard to find a negative review on one of these guns that’s why I watched the video. And in my opinion he has a bad extractor. And needs to be replaced. No big deal. A $10 part and about 15 minutes of time.
eLKy 15 That’s the point. They are good guns. Especially for the price. Every manufacturer has some level of defects or bad designs. The question is frequency. how often. What they are doing to fix the problem. Example Remington 700 triggers. Would fire on SAFE! Rather than fixing the problem they denied 🙅 the problem even exist. Even though you can UA-cam this exact problem.
My Taurus G3C and even my G2C have had zero issues with the same ammo used by the reviewer and many other brands. These guns fit my medium/large hands great and fit my humble budget even better.
As a gun store owner let me chime in here with some fact. I can go to one of my distributors and buy as many factory refurb glocks i want. The fact that they are almost always availble tells me they have some issues as well. All firearms makers have issues. Now Taurus is a budget line and for that reason they sell like hot cakes in my store. I sell 5 or 6 Taurus to every glock sold. With this I will hear of more issues with the Taurus. I have never personally had a issue with either glock or taurus.... maybe im just lucky lol. TBH I sell Canik guns as well and sell about the same amount of them as Taurus and have never heard of a issue from any of my customers.
I know all the other reviews are super positive, so I'm sure they're usually very reliable, but I got a brand new one 2 days ago and immediately had issues. The feedramp and the inside of the barrel, particularly the space where the shell sitting when chambered, wasn't smooth enough. There was also a tiny burr or lip at the entrance of the barrel. So the shell wouldn't go in all the way and the slide would get stuck about 1/8 of an inch short from closing. Sometimes it would close if you hit the back of the slide hard and work for 1 shot, but would then just get stuck in the same spot instead of cycling. (Update: Turns out I somehow just happened to get a box of bad ammo. It was Fiocchi FMJ. Since then I've used Winchester, Federal, and Blazer, about 500 rounds total, without a single malfunction.)
Many of the Glocks that Glock sells to stores are reconditioned LE trades....which they sell to police departments for around $320.00-350.00 per weapon while the civilian market pays much higher price of $500.00-600.00 for reconditioned weapons. Sad but true.....Glock cares little of firearms owners....just the bottom line.
@@cameron7498 It wasn't an error you can just see. Once the store opened back up I went to get different ammo and found the problem. What's wrong about that?
Glocks are mass produced and they have dozens of differnet models thays why there always available for you to buy lol and they actully have a resale value lol I cant beleive you drew that conclusion thats hilarius lol
I have to say, after my experience, putting 500 rounds through mine, with no issues, I purchased a second one for my car the very next day, and no issues with it either. I'm ex military, and I love this weapon for it's value and hassle free firing. It does shoot a smidgen low, but always center mass, missing the bullseye average 1/2", but nothing a thug will get out of the way of. I think you got a bad one, but then again you can chalk that up to quality control
Traded my G2c in for a G3c because of the upgrades to the gun. I shot over 300rds of blazer brass through my G2c without a single issue. It was also crazy accurate. My wife even shot it like a pro. I hope the G3c is as reliable and accurate, we will find out as soon as I can make it to the gun range.
@@TheHumbleMarksman you are probably correct on that. I bought my wife a Bersa .380 based on recommendations. That gun would not make it through a magazine without FTF/FTE. I had a gunsmith look at it and he saw nothing wrong with the firearm. He shot it with the same results FTF/FTE. I ended up trading it in. Sometimes you just get a bad apple.
I upgraded my wife's g2c for the g3c coz of the steel sights and upgrades. She loved the g2c it ran flawless couple 1000 rounds of all types. Couldnt even make it through 100 rounds on the g3c. It wouldnt go all the way into battery. Did it 4 times. I re cleaned and lubed but didnt help. Sent it back to taurus along with pics and they called today said they put 56 rounds through it and it wouldn't replicate the problem. So idk well see but so far really unimpressed should've kept the g2c.
@@TheHumbleMarksman For the love of God, every weapon when it leaves a store, you have to clean it to remove the grease and oil, which it is kept in a plastic bag, then you have to do a light polishing of the ramp, so you don't have any problems with ammunition supply. Learned?
I mean, everyone I know shoots cheap ammo out of their cheap guns. A cheap gun that reliably runs cheap steel is awesome, and a good time without breaking the bank. One of my favorite things(pre-rona) is wolf steel in my extar ep9. It's not talking down, it's saying something that is overwhelmingly true.
Not condescending, but honest. If you’re on a budget, you’re on a budget. You telling me that you’ll buy a G3c for it’s affordability, and then you plan to spend thousands in ammo for training, and you’re NOT going to try to get the most bang for your buck? (Yes, pun intended) Before everyone loses their collective shit about “spending thousands in ammo”, yeah...you should be training regularly, and it doesn’t end since shooting is a perishable skill. You WILL spend thousands over time.
First G series pistol I bought was a Taurus G3 in 2021. I lived in Louisiana at the time and that gun saw extreme humidity, swamps, sand, 100 degree days and was usually kept in the glove box of a jeep with no top on it. It ate every single bullet I gave it and never had one malfunction with it. Recently purchased a G3c and it has the same reliability, just in a smaller package.
This will be my first handgun, it hasn’t arrived yet. $269 seemed like a great price for what it offers and the extra mags will make the range more enjoyable as I develop my shooting. I looked at others for around $400-$600 and just couldn’t justify it today. The savings can go to my conceal carry course and lane fees..
Savings now your funeral later....advice make sure your tuaras can actully cycle the rounds you plan to defend your self with...despite what the tuaras fanboys tell you they are not anywhere as reliable as glocks.... And bro they have smith and wesson handguns for that price lol And ruger handguns even cheaper. You gpt suckered into thinking you 269 dolla pistola is as good as the rest lol
Not trying to be an d*#& But i recomend upgrading eventully.. And a tuaras is better then no gun at the end of the day so props to you for that.. Stay safe!
Congrats. Youre one of the very few who have had issues. Our G2c and G3c have performed flawlessly around the clock, no matter what ammo (at least a dozen different brands).
I was wondering when I would see a video that said anything relatively negative about this gun. I do have one, it's my EDC. I've had zero issues with it. Just want to make some comments on the negative points you've made, because I agree with all your positives. 1. Size of shooter versus size of gun. You are 6'5" and I am 5'9", with smaller hands than you have. I don't have tiny baby hands, but this gun fits my hand just right. You probably already knew this, but you need a bigger gun. 2. I've not had any issues with hitting the manual safety due to recoil. I think you might have, because of your larger hands. As far as the ledges on the right side of the gun, I did notice on my first magazine that I was hitting left of point of aim. I adjusted my grip thinking that might have something to do with it, and corrected the problem. I'm an experienced shooter, though not a pistol expert by any means. I just know enough to have figured that one out for myself. For a novice shooter, I can see this being a definite issue, and them going nuts trying to adjust the sights to compensate, and never getting past the problem. Because I am a rifleman and not a pistolero, I have been practicing as much as possible to make sure I reinforce proper grip into muscle memory. 3. I go back and forth between a polymer retention holster, and a leather holster for daily use. I've yet to see any wear on the slide finish, though I will admit to not drawing and reholstering my gun as much as you probably do, since you do this for a living. I agree, it's not supposed to be a beauty queen, and I have never sobbed once for getting nicks and dings on any of my ARs, just like I never sobbed over dings on any service rifle I carried. Same goes for slide design. I didn't buy it because it looks tacticool or shiny. 4. Reliability. You got a stinker, that's all there is to it. Every gun maker out there has the occasional stinker. There's no real excuse for it, and we both know that. I have a G2S, which has performed flawlessly for 500 rounds, to include hollow points, steel, nickel, and brass casings. I've only fed about 100 through my G3C, which is low, yes but we are in an ammo desert right now, and all of those rounds were Remington brass FMJ I picked up for a steal. Hopefully you won't experience what is being reported a lot, excessive turn around times on fixes from Taurus, with little to no communication. I won't tell people not to buy them, especially in times like these, but I would let them know of potential issues, such as extraction problems that you experienced, and if they can, have a backup in mind. I'm like a lot of gun enthusiasts, I have several guns I can fall back on, but a lot of these newbros are going to be relying on one alone, and with little no experience, as you pointed out, might have problems with accuracy due to improper grip, or jerking the trigger, or anticipating the recoil. I talked one of my uncles to go test fire as many pistols as he could before he committed, and he picked up a Canik, and he's really happy with it. Anyways, great video. You mostly sold the gun throughout, pointing out all the great things about it. I don't know what's wrong with a lot of the gun community. Maybe it's the internet bringing out the worst in people, but when a problem or flaw is found in a firearm that can't be remedied by corrective action, and is obviously a faulty component, potential buyers need to be made aware. Way too many people are ready to jump out of the shadows with torches and pitchforks at the ready these days. Oh and I did test fire Federal HST in this gun. I fed and cycled flawlessly.
@Eric G One thing that needs to be said and I am seeing a lot of commenter/owners missing this is that this gun is very picky about its ammo weight. Ive seen a lot of test videos and thousands of rounds through these and almost universally 115 pulls low and left. On the flip side it REALLY likes 147 and will put it almost right there you want it, in tight groups. So if you get the chance, (hard these days without taking out a damn loan) buy some 147 and see how that improves your groups.
I dont know i got one of the G2's and have had no issues not 1 jam not 1 malfunction and have ran cheap steel to expensive brass to aluminum cases rounds and have fired thousands of rounds through it
I bought a PT111 G2,Millennium. It sat in the safe for about 2 years. I took it shooting along with some old ammo I had in a box in the bottom of the safe. The gun jammed all the time. Different failures. Had a bad day. Brought it home did a good cleaning and lube. It has been flawless since. About 700 rounds. I will buy another , ( it will be a G3C) . Well worth the couple hundred dollars. I also like the size.
First bad review I've seen on these guns. I do alot of trading. Out of the Taurus guns I've had 4or 5 pt111's, several g2c's 2 G3's and two current g3c's I've yet to encounter a failure of any kind. Even ran several hundred rounds of the winchester steel case through several of them. In my experience they are very reliable.
You may be knowledgeable and you may have experience, but when you say things like, if you own one of these guns, you're probably running cheap ammo through it, that makes you sound like you're putting someone down. It's the kind of thing that makes me realize that there are many other channels that I'd rather watch. I like the idea that you speak the truth about having problems with a firearm, but you really come across like a snob. I've had to send different handguns back to the factory due to malfunctions. Those included, Smith and Wesson, Kimber, Taurus, Charter Arms and Kahr. Guess what? They all malfunctioned with all brands of ammo. Point being, you can get a lemon from any manufacturer. Good luck in the future.
Fair enough. It sounds snobby but it's generally observed to be true - the same sort of mindset in addressing the pistol - wanting a certain thing to perform a certain way at the lowest point possible - can be observed in buying ammo as well. I've observed it to be generally true both in comments here as well as in other firearms groups in other socials. It's not intended to be a snobby comment - I intentionally chose the ammo because I wanted based on the ammo that I felt was likely to get used by the typical owner. Sadly Rona knocked that down a couple tiers from what I originally wanted - which was aluminum cased and PMC/ WWB/Herters.
I also thought it was a sharp comment , but I didn’t get my feelings hurt. Maybe I don’t have any. Or maybe the internet doesn’t make me sad . Anyway he’s probably not wrong. Maybe in time , and with more experience , he’ll learn what triggers people. Also you can only review the product that’s in your hand. And again with time and experience , maybe the dude will incorporate the lemon gun into a 2 part video , with part two being the new replacement gun.
@@davidgaines8607 he didn't hurt my feelings either, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a snobbish comment. I watch these videos to see what people's opinions are on certain items or subjects. I choose not to spend my time watching someone being rude or snobby. We can turn on the news for that.
No matter what people say it's important that negatives are brought up. It only makes room for improvement. I own a G3 and love it btw. Looking to get a g3c soon.
Love my g3c. After not shooting a pistol in ten plus yrs... first 3 rounds right out of the box made a 3in group; Winchester 147 gr jhp. Second three round group; independence 115 gr8 hp and another 3 in group. This was at about 40 ft. I'm pretty happy with that and it will just get better as I get more rounds under my belt
I have enjoyed the hell out of my G3c so far, Iv only had it for about 3 months now and have put AT LEAST 600 rounds through it if not more and not a single malfunction besides the very first time I racked the slide with hollow points but once I oiled it and ran a few through it’s been flawless ever since… hopefully it holds up the way it has so far because I really enjoy this pistol. 🤙🏻
“For those of you who are not subscribed to the channel and I don’t know why you wouldn’t be”...so humble, the name, humble marksman obviously suits your channel, 😂
I don't have the g3 but my pt111 g2 has been flawless through about 5,000 rnds so far give or take a hundred or so. I finally found a relatively unknown trigger that changed the entire shooting experience by taking away the second strike capability and making it a single action only instead of double action. It also takes and functions perfectly with sig 226 18rnd mags, i use it as a backup mag. As others have said you may have gotten a lemon.
I'm a certified gunsmith and the G2c and The G3c are great guns. I have thrown steel aluminum and brass. Home defense and standard rounds at this over 3000 rounds and flawless. You don't need to spend alot of money and buy a name to have a quality gun.
@@brandonhouse3267 you have all these people giving reviews and using +p ammo. You don't need it. Its over rated and can harm any firearm I've owned a Taurus for yrs only bad thing I gotta say about Taurus is I had a pt708 slim I didn't like it due to felt to small in my hand and only had a 7rnd mag
A few years back I handled a 111 G2, and it felt so great in my hand, I bought it. Lots of malfunctions, mostly stovepipes. Finally sent it to Taurus - they sent me a shipping label. It got returned less than 2 weeks later (must be a record for Taurus) w/ a piece of paper that did not say what they'd done. Took it to the range - same problems, so I basically gave it away. But that stinkin' gun felt so good in my hand I had to give it another try, so took a chance on a G2C. Fortunately, I hit the jackpot with it (shoots everything, laser accurate). Taurus is still what I call a 'riskier buy'. To compound that, there are still often long waits for warranty service, sometimes months (my 2-week wait was a shocker...but the gun was returned unrepaired, haha). Taurus USA CEO Bret Vorhees has stated that under new leadership the customer service must get much better, but also acknowledges it will take some time. The Virus has surely complicated the already slow pipeline of parts from Brazil. We'll see. Hope they get to top tier.
I own one. Saw several other positive reviews before buying. So, yeah, I bought mine before seeing your review. While I have less than 500 rounds through it, I haven’t experienced any issues. So to date, I’m happy with it.
I got mine back - I wasn't able to take it to shoot today due to weather - but I don't think they fixed it - but I think I did figure out what the issue is.
I have the G2c, G3 and G3c with over 1500 rds thru each one. I find them reliable and dependable 24/7/365. I carry the G3c daily and I know I can depend on it to get me home safe to my family.
I know all the other reviews are super positive, but I got a brand new one 2 days ago and immediately had issues. I used a Dremel, just the cloth polishing wheels, and polished it relentlessly. It improved a lot so I'm confident the problem is fixable with some more polishing and use, but that shouldn't be necessary for a brand new gun to function. (Edit: I was using brass cased fmj.)
Thank you for this response as this jamming does happen to me and he was right to let people know. I love my G3c, but it won’t be my EDC. However I will keep the gun for training my kids!
Wow, talk about going into a review with a bias. So, real ammunition works flawlessly but crap ammo that also doesn’t run in other high priced pistols doesn’t run in this one either. Note to others out there: Don’t buy Winchester White Box ammo and don’t use steel cased ammo. It is not worth the savings of .50 cents. Buy some Fiocchi range ammo for $10 a box.
Recently got a G3C. My first 200 rounds, I had similar malfunctions. FMJ or HP, problems with both. I’m going to polish the feed ramp and hope to relieve the issue. Thx for the video review.!
Sorry bro I have three of these and I've shot guns since you were just a little un'. Not a knock but sometimes you have to experience guns for a few years to appreciate guns. Right out of the box my first g2c did 700 rounds of tula and various other cheap ammo until I broke down and cleaned it. Zero malfunctions. Side be by side with my two P365 pistols I still prefer the g2c. All respect dude but you got a lemon, we all have if you've bought enough guns, and I hope Taurus made it right. Y'all be alright.
Responsible seekers appreciate your honesty, I certainly do! Your experience is different from mine, but thanks for being honest about it. Obviously every manufacturer has a few lemons. I good friend had a new Luepold 3-9x40 Mark III fall apart inside, 20 years ago!!! I have several brand name guns in several calibers and honestly, my THREE (yes 3) Taurus G series (compact and full size) have run flawlessly (except for one CCI snake shot round that fired, ejected but didn't feed the second one). Hundreds and hundreds of rounds fired, and literally zero failures. In fact, that is the ONLY reason I have bought 3. They also make cheap "truck guns" (no huge loss if one 'disappears"). I hope your specimen comes back "fixed." Thanks again for this review. All of need to see both sides, pros and cons, of any model reviewed.
Before I was using G26 as a back up gun. As an active LEO, I needed something that I can trust with my life. It happened that I got a hold of this nice firearm last year. Tried it in the range and no hiccups whatsoever. I mean I never experienced any FTF nor FTE. Since then, I carried this wonderful firearm as my EDC even off duty.
Taurus is making solid guns! The only negative review I’ve seen on this gun! I’ve put a thousand rounds through mine without 1 issue! I know people who sold their glocks and bought multiple Taurus guns!
This in the end is a sample size of 1 . Taurus has a good to very good track record for , the last 10 years in the semi auto market. Starting with the PT 111 , millions have been sold and they have been proven reliable by many a prominent you tuber and gun enthusiasts throughout north america .
I saw it more of an ignorant comment, like if you drive an entry level budget-minded car, you’re probably buying the cheapest tires available. Pure stupidity. Watch Hickock45’s review of this gun, no ridiculous presumptuous comments like that.
@@francoa.9646 I did watch hickocks review, along with 2aedu review and about 50 others before I purchased the G3c...all of which gave great honest reviews and the g3 has turned out to be exactly what they said in their reviews...thank you for the heads up! Respects
I am about to turn 64 started shooting pistols at 14 do the math ex military marksman with 1911a 45. Carried everything from 9mm to 357 king cobra got my G3taures on sale $200.00 fired over 1000 rounds with no malfunctions one of my favorite small arms of all time just my opinion. Happy new year son
November 2023 it's still a great gun for the money. It doesn't break the bank. I just got mine on black Friday and I love it. I can't wait to take it to the range.❤
I know this is an old video but personally I like the safety. As far as the grips, put a hogue grip on it if you think it’s too small. I had one on mine and it really made the grip thicker and should help those with larger hands. I’m pretty happy with mine.
Most guns, in my experience, need to be cleaned & oiled out of the box and to have hundreds of rounds though them before I can get an idea of how “reliable” they are or what I can expect from them. That being said, I have seen some videos that say similar things that you say, but the overwhelming majority of videos end with the person coming to the opposite conclusion. I own & have owned a few guns over the years and I actually own a G2c and G3. I have had no issues with either gun but that doesn’t mean they are the greatest gun ever, just like your experience doesn’t mean they are the worst gun ever. Thank you for your honest opinion in this video & your other uploads. Most folks are quick to disregard opinions that differ from their own and/or are looking for confirmation of their purchases. I’ll have to disagree with you on this video but that doesn’t mean I think you are wrong or biased or anything else, but I have to go with my experience with this gun. Keep doing what you do, we need to bring more people over to the gun ownership side of our country and in a hurry! 👍🏻
At 50 years of age I have seen nearly every popular brand of firearms fail at one time or another. Nearly every brand, at all different price points. In fact some popular brands I have seen failures in multiple examples. For example Glock. I have seen multiple different Glock pistols fail. With my own eyes. Not just someone talking about it on the utubzorz. But I still know that Glock firearms are very dependable. That is what is called realistic view and expectations of a brand. I have even seen Taurus firearms fail. Just like any other brand. But what I haven't seen fail are my personal Taurus firearms. My G2c and G3 each have over 1500 rounds through them. That includes bulk shooting for testing /review and actual training. Zero failures of any type. So my realistic expectations concerning Taurus are the exact same as Glock. My examples have been flawless but I know that all manufacturers can and will have a percentage of failures as well. I can only judge based on my personal experience. In my personal experience Taurus G series semi-autos are just as reliable as any other brand of striker fired pistols.
I just made a comment. I have the g3 series and have had much trouble with hollow points, but fmj zero problems. I just keep it with fmj. I'd say I've been disappointed because of the hollow points. I've used Sig elite ammo, so not cheap ammo. My opinion is go with Sig, Beretta, that 500 to 700 range. After the Taurus experience, I've bought Sig p365, and Beretta 92, and a Smith and Wesson airweight revolver. I still shoot and keep the Taurus' in my cars, just keep fmj in them and they're fine. This is just my experience, so for what it's worth. I don't really mind not using hollow points, as I've seen even Colt 1911s choke on them as well. Again, just what I've seen through many years of interest in guns.
I have approximately 250 rounds through my G3C with all types of ammo, no failures! And you what? The ambidextrous thumb rests are fantastic for single handed shooting!
As a comparison to the earlier G2C, there are alot of positive crossovers from the G3. I've removed the safety, and it functions just fine without. (Don't care about the warranty as I can always put it back if I return the gun for repairs). I haven't had any gun related malfunctions, just ammo related ones. I'm confident to use it as my EDC. My only gripes are with the long deep trigger pull. Too much like a revolver for my liking. At the budge price range, you get a good gun. Yeah, not the best money can buy, but reliable and accurate enough. You can get smaller, more concealable frame with similar capacity like Sig 365 or the Hellcat, or the new Shield Plus, but that's almost 2x the cost. Iron sights, 3 mags, decent trigger (aside from long pull), good grip texture, reliable, accurate, and cheap price. I see a winner here, IMHO.
I don't understand why everyone is like, "I don't need my fuckin safety", but they love 1911's. You know you can just....not use the fucking safety if you don't want to right? I use it when I carry appendix because, no matter how much I know that gun isn't going off in the holster, I just feel better when the safety is on when a gun barrel is resting on my penis ya know? You went and removed the whole damn safety. What were you just concerned what others would think if they saw it on there?
Agreed- lemon. Mine is accurate by any standards and i have yet to have malfunction at 350 or so rounds. I actually put off buying a sig 365xl because the g3c has a good grip for a bigger hand, and has been such a good little pistol. I am a fervent hater of taurus as well due to revolver shenanigans, and i told myself a facelift wasnt going to change my mind. Well, the pistol did it for me. Good on you, Taurus. Youve earned your capitol "T" back.
I've had mine for a few months now and put about 400 rounds through it without any problems, you might have gotten a defective one(which that sucks with any gun). To be honest I carry the g3c more than my sig lol, but I still think you did a great review on it.
I work as an RSO at a range and I have seen this pistol fail consistently. At least once a day somebody will come in with this gun and have to end the day going to the gunsmith. Although I agree with some of the comments about your "cheap guns cheap ammo" remark.
I have the PT111 G2 and experienced the same *severe* FTE issues! The culprit was obviously the extractor. I sent it in for warranty, got it back after ~2 wks and had no problems ever since. A thousand rounds later, and it's still chugging away eating all kinds of ammo from brass to steel.
You carry what you like and I’ll continue to carry my TAURUS G3C with the 15 round extended magazine.I also have the G2C and I would carry it if needed and do sometimes along with the G3C.
Turned off video cause value doesn't mean it's a bad pistol. Haven't had a problem with mine. " Let's be honest, if you're shooting Taurus you're shooting the cheapest stuff? Wow you sure got that wrong!
You know, one of the things that ultimately sold me on this gun was a UA-cam video of a 1000 rd test with steel cases Tull Ammo. I mean, it sucks that you got a bad one, but you have to consider that’s probably pretty rare since Taurus also offers a lifetime warranty for the G3C. They wouldn’t lifetime warranty a line of their firearms if they were going to give up all their profits to repairs.
My first 2 mags, I had 3 ftf's. 3 more mags, no problems. Blazer brass 115g. After 2 hours sitting, my first shot failed to extract, but I've not had a failure since. The sights had me shooting low and left also. 300rds and 3 weeks since, it just gets better as I go, even with Hornady American Gunner 115g HP. The only upgrade/accessory I've found worthwhile so far, the Maglula mag loader. Three mags are nice, but 36 rounds go pretty quick at the range. I'm tempted to buy another G3c!
Glad you made this video, I haven't seen any negative reviews for Taurus G3 or G3C. I always like to hear both the negative and positive review before getting something.
Whether it’s a budget gun or a top of the line gun , if it comes with a warranty it’s possible to have issues. Even the best made firearms have malfunctions.
@@citglos that sucks. 😫 Ya it's hard to find around here as well. I managed to scoop up a few boxes before they completely disappeared. Cheaper than dirt had some in stock for a bit, but you have to literally check like 5 times a day and grab it when it pops up. I bought some bulk range ammo and 5.56 a while back, and I'm even sitting on range ammo like I'm trying to hatch an egg right now! I'm afraid to use it! It sucks! 😭
Thousands of rounds through mine and it hasn’t locked up/failed even once. I keep it clean and maintain it. It’s one of the best guns I own. I like it way more than my Glock 19 5th gen. Taurus has made me a believer. Most reliable gun I have.
You forgot to freeze it in a block of ice, and put it in a campfire, to make sure it's reliable. Funny how 99% of your review on the g3c was positive and people still are ripping on your review, hope you do a video on Taurus customer service.
Kg boom boom did a torture test on a Taurus and it did very well, too bad his channel was banned by youtube cause he was doing timelapses of firearm restoration.
Got over 500 rounds through mine with no malfunctions. I'm a glock guy and right now they are taking up space in the safe while this g3c is riding with me. It operates and feels good. Cant be beat for the price.
I put my G3 to the test back when i bought mine. Shot right out of the box. We put about 400 rounds through it the 1st day, no jams no problems. We put close 1500 rounds through it before deciding to clean. Shoots great for us. Not sure why you had so many issues with yours. It does have a lil kick compared to my glocks & berretas but no big deal. Good vid none the less
What!?! I got a G2C put at least 1k rounds through it. Had one stove pipe jam, that was it. I liked it so much that I sold it to my dad and bought the G3C. I LOVE that gun even more! I like how it is slightly slimmer and has a slight shorter barrel, it is more rounded on the edges, the trigger seems a bit better. The trigger looks slightly different than the previous model. Then to top it off it comes with THREE mags!! I paid $340 for mine and it's worth every penny. I have put around 500-ish rounds through the G3C with zero issues. I am crazy accurate with it. I think it is a perfect carry gun in my opinion because it is reliable, it has a nice shot, great ergonomics and feel in the hands for being such a compact gun (imo), has a great ammo capacity of 12+1, I like that the flip safety not only locks the trigger, but the slide as well and lastly, it is a obviously VERY affordable pistol, especially for the quality of it. I am very surprised at this review. But hey, I don't doubt that there are a few "duds" out there that slipped my quality control. I just don't see how it was that bad unless it was a affected gun from the factory.
1: You are one of the RARE channels to ever have something negative to say about this firearm. 2: There is no law that says you have to have a thumb indent in the lower for importation. There is, however, a law that says a Safety has to be present to import. 3: No UA-cam channel, even back in the G2C days, has ever had an issue with the Safety accidentally being engaged other than commenting their concern so that honestly seems unfounded. 4: Failure to extract does seem like a rare issue given how many channels RAVE about this firearm. I have over 1,200 rounds through my G2C with a total of 2 failures which were primer related.
2. Yes - there is a score card the ATF issues for importation and one of the criteria giving a gun points for import is a thumb rest. For plastic gripped guns "Target grips" can be awarded if there is a thumb rest - it's why most import plastic guns have that depression and most US Made plastic guns don't have it. www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/form/factoring-criteria-weapons-atf-form-4590/download 3. We don't review guns by consensus and for your information I'm a Safety officer in IDPA and Range officer in USPSA - I've seen multiple 1911 shooters bump on safeties due to bad grips with not riding the manual safety - this is somewhat common. You may think it's not a problem - I can see how it would be otherwise - since guys are doing it with 1911s pretty regularly. 4. Agree - I was disappointed as I was telling my buddies how forward thinking the gun was designed - until I couldn't get it to work. I look forward to it coming back repaired and trying again.
@@TheHumbleMarksman The document you linked says nothing about a thumb rest. I see the notation on Target Grips; (5) points, but nothing stating or even inferring that a thumb indent is required or acceptable in place of 'Target Grips'. You've stated your credentials as a basis for the knowledge you're sharing but the document states nothing in regards to your claim of a required thumb rest. As well the document lists a qualifying score of 75 to be the minimum allowed for importation given the total score based on the scoring criteria listed the GC3 regardless of 'Target Grip' being added only hits about 55ish total points which makes no sense at all (See below comment on BATF) I'm no expert (duh), however, if you can link a document that actually shows a law or requirement wherein a 'Thumb Rest; indent' is shown, stated or notated as an acceptable option in place of 'Target Grips' as required by the BATF it would be most helpful as the document you've presented only leads to confusion. And yes I know, confusion, that appears to be the entire reason behind the existence of BATF in general. I've looked for such a document myself, not asking you to do the research for me, but I've come up empty and continue to hear people speaking or pointing to document(s) such as you've shared which give no clarity on the matter or FUDS stating things with no basis of fact to back up their statements. All of these bad comments on here but I appreciate the honesty that you have provided. It’s nice to see different opinions as long as you can have an open mind to it. Thank you for the in-depth review! @TheHumbleMarksman
Great video! I bought one yesterday based on several reviews and put 60 reds of 115grn through it with no issues except they did shoot low. I do not shoot steel case ammo ever. It will be my EDC unless I find an issue to cause me to rethink that. I will run some more tests this afternoon with 124 grin before I do any sight work. I did polish the feed ramp and chamber but I do that on all of my autos for the past 30yrs. Many thanks!
I love that most everyone on here are pretty clear that you're wrong in this review. I'll stop watching so that you don't get additional algorithm hits.
I only had to watch 1minute of this review to know where he was going.. I haven't bought a g3c yet but have g2c's..ya more than one.. and the g3.. no issues with any of them yet.. but anything mechanical can fail..
I just bought one, based on so many other positive reviews.. I have yet to shoot it.. but your experience is your experience, and you document it well. Appreciate the honesty. Hope I got a good one 🤞
Ive had it for a year now and its never chocked. Hollow points are no issue either. For being my everyday carry, its been great. No complaints from me.
I have the G2C and have had it a couple years and its an awsome pistol never had a prol3lem and have ran a couple thousand rounds of all kinds through it. So I disagree with your review.
Hey, it's a great gun! Haha. Shoot one for a couple visits to the range sometime. Run it through the paces. I may not be a Taurus fanboy, but I do know the G3c itself is a fantastic firearm. Can't speak for anything else by Taurus. My other guns are revolvers and rifles and the like. (And a Glock 17, which is kept in the home for the most part)
Just bought one (June 2023). I have only fired 100 rounds… so far no failures. Hopefully in the two years since this video was made taurus has fixed the problem. We shall see.
Never had an issues with my G3c since purchasing it 8 months ago. Best concealed carry I have.

Thats not operator error but a crappy magazine.

You got a lemon dude. Hundreds of rounds through my G3C.......not one problem 👍

In the USA we have a law with cars called the lemon law. Basically if the car keeps having problems and the dealership can’t fix the car after 3 attempts the manufacturer has to by the car back.... ..... you got a lemon 🍋
eLKy 15
The gun is real....
A $10 part and about 15 minutes of time.
eLKy 15
That’s the point.
The g2c is at least 6 to 7 years old
My Taurus G3C and even my G2C have had zero issues with the same ammo used by the reviewer and many other brands.
@@clifton4566, always check your ammo and your use before looking to the gun first, period.
@@cameron7498 It wasn't an error you can just see. Once the store opened back up I went to get different ammo and found the problem. What's wrong about that?
Glocks are mass produced and they have dozens of differnet models thays why there always available for you to buy lol and they actully have a resale value lol
I cant beleive you drew that conclusion thats hilarius lol
THere's a good chance yours is fine - I'm pretty sure mine just has something out of spec causing the issues.
Learned?

“If you’re shooting Taurus, you’re probably shooting cheap ammo”. Wow! Can you be any more condescending?
That's why I posted what I posted, Today 11-2-2020
I mean, everyone I know shoots cheap ammo out of their cheap guns. A cheap gun that reliably runs cheap steel is awesome, and a good time without breaking the bank. One of my favorite things(pre-rona) is wolf steel in my extar ep9. It's not talking down, it's saying something that is overwhelmingly true.
Yes that’s a stupid statement.... I own many guns, and my EDC is actually the G3C. Never had any issues
Price snobs are such scum, aren't they?
Not condescending, but honest. If you’re on a budget, you’re on a budget. You telling me that you’ll buy a G3c for it’s affordability, and then you plan to spend thousands in ammo for training, and you’re NOT going to try to get the most bang for your buck? (Yes, pun intended)
Before everyone loses their collective shit about “spending thousands in ammo”, yeah...you should be training regularly, and it doesn’t end since shooting is a perishable skill.
And bro they have smith and wesson handguns for that price lol
And ruger handguns even cheaper.
You gpt suckered into thinking you 269 dolla pistola is as good as the rest lol

Congrats. Youre one of the very few who have had issues. Our G2c and G3c have performed flawlessly around the clock, no matter what ammo (at least a dozen different brands).

G2c and G3c have both great guns for the price.
Yeah I like mine a lot. Have both the G2 and G3c. Ive put more than 2000 rounds thought each. Not one malfunction. Not one
I look forward to revisiting the repaired gun. Very good comment.
My first gun ever and im satisfied... Even taught my brother how to shoot with this gun.
Do these run +p reliably?
@@webuser1284 yup they run great. Some people are having issues with JHP feeding, look at polishing your feed ramps to correct.

I agree. Don’t like this guys channel.

I bought a G3c today and I've shot 100 rounds and it's a perfect gun. No issues. Great pistol!!!!
Same here, not a single Malfunction has happened to my G3C and it has taken a beating
“For those of you who are not subscribed to the channel and I don’t know why you wouldn’t be”...so humble, the name, humble marksman obviously suits your channel, 😂
It is a personal preference. You're entitled to your opinions. I always tell people to rent or borrow a firearm before you buy.
Ive put 1000rds of RELOADS thru my G3c. 0 issues, not a single malfunction. Good gun for anyone looking for a 9mm conceal without breaking the bank.
Exactly!!
Over 1000 rounds through my G3C without a hitch. Great carry. You got an outlier.
I’m glad my experience has been completely different. I’ve got the G3 and G2S and have had zero issues combined.
I own one. Saw several other positive reviews before buying. So, yeah, I bought mine before seeing your review. While I have less than 500 rounds through it, I haven’t experienced any issues. So to date, I’m happy with it.
U need to get a new review job...this carry gun is flawless...
Nope, mine had the same issue. I loved it, but would not feed certain bullets.
Go to the Taurus forum and see if you are wrong.
Zips a wonderful gun.
@Gary Smith Rare. Very rare.
Stop being salty that your cheap gun doesn't have top notch QC. I'm sure yours is the best ever but corners HAVE to be cut at this price.
I run my G3C weekly and have never had a failure of any sort.
I'm actually considering buying another. :)
I got mine back - I wasn't able to take it to shoot today due to weather - but I don't think they fixed it - but I think I did figure out what the issue is.
my too ,never have the problem ,,,,,,
@@TheHumbleMarksman What was the issue?
@@deemika the operator
I have the G2c, G3 and G3c with over 1500 rds thru each one. I find them reliable and dependable 24/7/365. I carry the G3c daily and I know I can depend on it to get me home safe to my family.
glad yours works!
I know all the other reviews are super positive, but I got a brand new one 2 days ago and immediately had issues.
White box sux period. No matter what caliber. It's crappy ammo and I will not use it.
"let's be honest, if you're shooting Taurus, you're probably shooting the cheapest ammo on the shelf." He's really humble...
Practical. Though your assertion is that comment would show me to be arrogant - it’s brutally honest. But the name is ironic and intended as a joke
@@TheHumbleMarksman oh ok. So you're well aware. Lol

My favorite part is the inclusion of 4 different depressions on the frame to tell me exactly where to put my thumbs if I want to suck at shooting
💯
I am a future new gunner, and I am shopping around. So i am taking all comments seriously. I need to hear both side. So his input is valuable
1st negative review of this gun.
skip to about 12 mins in - it earned it the old fashioned way.
@@TheHumbleMarksman I hear you. Let's hope the G3 fans don't flood the comments.
QC is what's missing on cheap guns, so it's a roll of the dice.
I have approximately 250 rounds through my G3C with all types of ammo, no failures! And you what? The ambidextrous thumb rests are fantastic for single handed shooting!
Dave Knize I couldn’t make it above 165 without throwing in the towel with so many failures
Humble, not really this is like having an argument with a 6 yoa, boss.
Don’t think so little of yourself! Your spelling and punctuation are way better than my 6 year old. You’re doing great!
Nathanael Dobyns lol ok bro.
@Nathanael Dobyns Don't cry just because Taurus purposely made a cheap gun and it turns out unreliable pistols more so than say, Glock.
Nathanael Dobyns yet here you are, crying about one mans opinion.
My Taurus G3C and G2s have been nothing but reliable! For years I consider them as good as my Glock 19 and Sig
Don’t own one but two friends have one with two different generations. Excellent gun especially if budget is an issue
You don't just have them clean it thoroughly because maybe it has factory shipping grease? You really earning your paycheck eh?
I've got all the fancy pistols money can buy. Wanna know my go2 ? You guessed it a Taurus G3c
Taurus haters swear it takes three to five months for warranty.
You carry what you like and I’ll continue to carry my TAURUS G3C with the 15 round extended magazine.I also have the G2C and I would carry it if needed and do sometimes along with the G3C.
hey man if yours is working I don't see a reason not to - mine clearly didn't.
Hold up, the magazines that come with the G3C has 15 round mags that come with the package?
Turned off video cause value doesn't mean it's a bad pistol. Haven't had a problem with mine. " Let's be honest, if you're shooting Taurus you're shooting the cheapest stuff? Wow you sure got that wrong!
Are you upset because you didn't buy a Glock?
I know right. I shoot the best ammo.
Looking forward to the follow up after you get the pistol back from Taurus fixing the extractor.
Thank u for the info
Glad you made this video, I haven't seen any negative reviews for Taurus G3 or G3C. I always like to hear both the negative and positive review before getting something.
Have had zero issues with my Taurus ..... None . Accuracy is excellent..... Would buy another no doubt......
It’s a great gun and marksman just one of one , everybody else loves it
I own 4 of the g series,2,3 and I have never had a problem with any of them and all are very accurate,it is and will be my carry gun
Whether it’s a budget gun or a top of the line gun , if it comes with a warranty it’s possible to have issues. Even the best made firearms have malfunctions.

Thousands of rounds through mine and it hasn’t locked up/failed even once. I keep it clean and maintain it. It’s one of the best guns I own. I like it way more than my Glock 19 5th gen. Taurus has made me a believer. Most reliable gun I have.

Got over 500 rounds through mine with no malfunctions. I'm a glock guy and right now they are taking up space in the safe while this g3c is riding with me. It operates and feels good. Cant be beat for the price.
I’m very happy with mine, and I own practically every brand
That's awesome - I'm glad yours is working for you.
It’s awesome u replied back and for that I just subscribed to u sir.
For plastic gripped guns "Target grips" can be awarded if there is a thumb rest - it's why most import plastic guns have that depression and most US Made plastic guns don't have it.
www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/form/factoring-criteria-weapons-atf-form-4590/download
I'm not saying you're in that group at all, however, I hear the same thing from folks without your credentials but have yet to see any evidence of the claim come to surface. Great video! I bought one yesterday based on several reviews and put 60 reds of 115grn through it with no issues except they did shoot low. I do not shoot steel case ammo ever.
