With the new DLC out here is the first of the new Full Playthroughs! I plan on making three in total covering all of the new origins and perhaps a quick test video with the new civic which has similar abilities as the origins themselves! I'm still of two minds of this DLC so feedback is very welcome! I hope you all enjoy! :D So two things to mention - I mix up what shield regen is early on in the game, I correct myself later. I ALSO mix up what the contingency is made of in regards to their defense (I was thinking about their big stations which are mostly hull.) I correct myself later on that too. Recording over many days can lead to.. odd words being said in odd ways. I will also be covering the cloaking system a lot more in future videos!
Lathrix I think you should give yourself a bit more leeway in term of the end game year and difficulty settings in general, so that you don't have to always go for the "meta" choice and experience the content of the game more fully. For example, make it so that you don't have to always take defender of the Galaxy ascension perk.
I do not know if you will ever see this but I wanted to say Thank you. I mostly only watch your Stellaris content so when a gem like this drops I watch it at work. I work in a gas station and having a 2 hour video to watch is bliss, so thank-you so very much for this much-needed respite from customers.
Every time i see Lathland upload a stellaris vid i get so happy and grab a bowl of popcorn and makes me want to play a shit ton of stellaris afterwards T_T seriously LOVE what your doing please DONT STOP
@@warning641 it is a rather micromanaging plethoras of things to do that’s for sure there are guides on how to play the game or u could be like me and just wemod everything :D 🤪😂
I will state that there is a “event” where a pre FTL civilization nukes themselves. However, the only pop up I saw was their awareness went to zero and it was now a tomb world. I saw it happen in one of my play throughs the other day. But I don’t have the dlc so it might be different.
it looks nice but since I'm running void dweller+, and that can get you some pretty big habitats, I'm wondering if the models jsut gets replaced once you get past the size 10
The new civic is actually pretty neat, there's several versions of it, depending on the sort of empire you are, with different specific effects and weird synergies that allow for some interesting options. I like the pre-ftl, mostly like the artifact changes, and cloaking is handy, and there's a bunch of random stuff they quietly added in the background... I find the origins hit or miss though. And wish the story depth in this story pack was closer to the Knights. EDIT: Middling level peeve: if you want to make real use of archeotech in your fleets, it's a pain because they have a resource cap that's just /way/ too low to make full use of.

When the bit about breaching the terms and conditions got brought up...I was immediately reminded of TTS Bro trip. I could hear Lance cashpants screaming that lol.
Always adore full playthroughs! For this DLC I am also a bit mixed, in terms of story and trying to make a narrative using all the origins relying on one another is a cool concept but having a serious penalty makes it a tough pill to swallow.
This is why I watch your channel, for these playthroughs. Love Stellaris. I'm always 2-3 DLCs behind the current, so I appreciate your playthroughs very much! Just starting it now.
Every piece of content from you is gold Lathrix. Dripping with care and effort every time as well as your natural charm and humour carries anything you post. Keep it up! Don't stop the long form!
57:02 I totally get that, I usually feel the same way when I'm not just stomping the AI in a strategy game. Currently playing Endless Space 2 as the Hissho (which ironically have a very similar backstory) and I got a super unlucky start but it's actually kinda interesting.
The lack of minor artifacts is a major stopgap for upgrading my fleets now, there need to be a setting switch that makes the auto made ships not use the artifact tech.
No normal player uses auto made ships lmao. ALWAYS deselect that option and simply create templates and then set them to auto upgrade...that's the only "auto" you should use, pro tip ;)
@@ethanfaulkinbury8640 what's the difficulty in ship design? Just use what you think is cool, eventually you'll see what works and what doesn't work...using auto build gets you terrible designs that don't work well
I really would love a review video, I like keeping up with stellaris updates. I also really like how you speak, and I really relate to you from what I've seen though your content and tweets. And the way you explain things always makes my brain happy and actually help me remember things!
14:17 I'm glad you've chosen the habitat route. Other people I've watched did indeed choose the flagship route. But a habitat sounds much more interesting. But then again, that's probably because I usually play as a pacifist.
I hope you never stop making videos, i remember the first time i watched one of your videos it was a stonehearth series and i was stuck ever since. I appreciate the constant videos nonstop its like a comfort watching your videos after work
Really, really looking forward to the next playthrough! Love these videos. Thank you for all the time it takes you, and that you put in to making these videos!! :)
I'm enjoying the dlc from a role play perspective, but I have to say there's not a whole lot different with gameplay in the long run, even with a universe packed full of pre-ftl civs. The origins are the best part, imho.
I love full Stellaris playthroughs, and you are one of the only creators that still does them. Thank you for your hard work! Hope you get an ROI on this.
"as the lovely UA-cam overlords continue to try and for shorts, and we simply wish to wear trousers" lines like this are why I love your content. Out of left field and completely killed me
Personally I love watching you do these types of runs and lengths of videos, I've seen everyone of them (your videos) for stellaris and personality my favourite run was when you absolutely dominated the Blokkats! Keep up the amazing work boss 🤠 stellaris is a series I'd love to see continued
i like looking after things/people, and this lets me help and care for more little ones, so i like this DLC, also stealthed mass cruiser fleets are fun
Very much reminded of the Irken Empire and the Resisty. "Hey, that's a Vort ship. I didn't think there were any of those left. Call them, and tell them we're going to blow them up."
Really glad for another full Stellaris vanilla playthrough. It would have been fitting, if the "Sanctuary"-system would have spawned to be "protected" once more.
I initially thought the DLC was light on content. But I have grown really fond of all the new mechanics around pre FTL. I am now personally happy with it :)
Awesome video! Armor hardening and shield hardening techs do indeed stack Torpedos bypass 100% of shields, but if you have 50% shield hardening, they do half of their damage to your shields If you hit 100% shield hardening, bypass weapons will no longer bypass shields The shield hardening has inherently more value than armor hardening since guided weapons and strike craft bypass shields whereas only arc emitters, disruptors and cloud lightning bypass armor However 3 of the archaeotech do have armor bypass, the archaeo strikecraft, archaeo missiles and archaeo lasers(tho the lasers only have 50% armor bypass)
Storm in Sol is probably an Alpha Century reference but I could be reaching. In Alpha Century one of the endings include using planet's native hivemind to achieve biological singularity
I'm really enjoying your content Lathrix. I agree with your choice to turn the "Invaders Ship" into a Habitat over a Warship. It's the more interesting choice, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

Fear of the Dark is very story heavy, but really, they all are. It's wild.
