“Band Geeks” is one of S2’s greatest episodes and one of the best in the entire series. Not only the “Sweet Victory” scene is a great spectacle, but that may have been Squidward’s finest moments because he was very happy.

If you notice Patrick pulling SpongeBob’s tongue 👅 in his dream was a huge hint to the opening of the secret compartment of his secret box. Who would’ve have imagined Patrick of all people would foreshadow something? 😅

There’s actually A LOT of people who’ve said they seen this episode on release and the original airing having the picture clearly.. though there’s no footage of it. We dunno if it’s the Mandela effect or they’re actually being legit, but it’s fun to think about
I almost forgot how "Crusty Love" is another good example of SpongeBob's justified anger.
This episode is easily one of the best in the entire show. Between both band geeks and graveyard shift, it’s a very iconic and unforgettable episode.
Don't forget the Seabear episode. 😂

So a little story: When Stephen Hillenburg, the show’s late creator, passed very young at 57, fans of the show got together to have “Sweet Victory” play and an actual Super Bowl. During the 2019 Super Bowl, we thought we won, but it was just Maroon 5 performing as an animated clip of Squidward introduces them with a modernized animation of the characters in their band outfits and SpongeBob’s eager face dance. It definitely disappointed many fans, HOWEVER, the NHL made the idea come to life at a Dallas Stars game during the halftime show, playing the entire song. It was truly an amazing tribute to Stephen. 🥲
Yeah maroon 5 and Travis Scott the smile turned into a frown immediately with that crap

Hearing Sweet Victory will never not give me chills. One of the most iconic episodes of all time. And to this day I’m still pissed at the NFL for fumbling on this iconic song so bad for the Super Bowl halftime show😤😤
Ikr, if wouldn't have been that hard to construct a temporary glass dome in the middle of the field and project holograms inside of it(you don't even need the dome for the holograms).
Nickelodeon would have just needed to get someone to re-animate the scene in 3D(which thousands of people would have volunteered to do for free).
They had the perfect opportunity to create a major historical event, but chose to just have a ten second clip, that led into a lackluster performance from an okay artist.
The worst let down in superbowl history.
@@Cole_McGill Seriously! If they had put any amount of effort at all it would’ve been far better than the dumpster fire performance they gave us. It was more insulting to Stephen Hillenburg’s memory doing what they did than simply not doing anything to honor his memory at all.
@@liamisaac1152 I don’t know if you know this but the NHL actually played Sweet Victory during halftime. They fulfilled a promise that NFL broke and because of that I have the up most respect for them! So thank you, NHL, for honoring a wonderful man who had passed. 🙏🏽
After all of these years since that failure of a promise, they did actually keep it in the end, though I have no idea how many people are actually aware of it. I just found it trying to look up info about the 2019 one, but the 2024 Super Bowl has an animated Sweet Victory Haf-time show as part of the Super Bowl 58 and Nickelodeon Spongebob collab. Only people watching the Spongebob Super Bowl 2024 broadcast saw it.
Something that's been mentioned by Alex Bale's "Spongebob Theory" videos: Squilliam says he can't make it to the bubble bowl, but he shows up anyway. This was probably a scheme of his to humiliate Squidward.

Arguably the best episode in Spongebob history, I’m so glad y’all got to watch this one and enjoy it too. The band episode holds a special place in my heart as a former band kid, who still performs in a local band as an adult!
99.9% of people agree that Band Geeks is peak SpongeBob, while season 3 I’d say is better than s2 Band Geeks is easily the greatest episode of them all and I can’t wait for them to get to the first movie cause the SpongeBob movie really was the finale to SpongeBob (cause that was the creators last help with the character after the movie he left)
The band geeks goes as one of if not the best episode of series. It not only had "Sweet Victory " being played but it also had everyone be there for Squidward. I was genuinely love happy for Squidward.
Secret Box, Band Geeks and Graveyard Shift (My personal favorite episode, Band Geeks being my second favorite), these three are all quintessential Spongebob. Chocolate With Nuts is the only one that comes close to the highs of those two for me. Although I prefer the other two episodes, Secret Box does have the show's single best quote, the immortal: "The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma." *milk spills*
Graveyard Shift is my favorite as well

In both episodes, SpongeBob is wearing the friendship ring, in the secret box when SpongeBob had to prove he was Patrick’s friend, and in the band geeks scene where he sang “ on the wind closing in” as he is pointing at the audience.
Band Geeks is my absolutely favorite episode of SpongeBob. It was back to back jokes and every one of them lands. Plus it finally gives Squidward and total win.

Well when it comes to the embarrassing snapshot of SpongeBob at the Christmas party. There is a theory in the Nickelodeon community about that, awhile back either before or after episode came out. They use to show this animated Christmas short during the month of December, where different Nickelodeon characters from different shows like Spongebob, Rugrats, Invader Zim etc. We're hanging out at a Christmas party and it was done in the same stop motion style as the Rudolph the Red nose reindeer movie years back. During the short there was a scene talking about embarrassing moments happening at the party one of which is SpongeBob ripping his pants. So some people theorized that the picture in Patrick secret box is from that party. Meaning that the whole short is canon in the SpongeBob lore as well as all the nicktoon characters being in the same universe together. But again that's just a theory.
Theory is fine but doesn’t make much sense since a proceeding episode had him ripping his pants for fun.
Band Geeks is probably in like the top 5 greatest episodes of SpongeBob. Patrick with the damn glasses 🤣🤣🤣🤣, just everything was perfect, glad you guy’s finally got to see it.
FINALLY, the time has come. I was waiting for THIS episode to be watched and now we’ve reached the biggest moment in spongebob history. Honestly such big moment as a kid seeing it and just felt so perfect of an ending.
The first three episodes are really some of the most iconic and memorables episodes of the entire show, they were definitely one the highlights
12:44 after Patrick kicked Sandy the first time anyone noticed how dumbfounded he looked like, “duh what did I do?” Also ROFLOL at Patrick stuck in a trumpet. Anyone got a good joke for that 😂
In the spanish and latin dub, there is a pun involving nosferatu. Nosferatu sounds like "No seras tu" which translates to "wouldn't it be you", so for years as a kid i never knew who that guy was because all i heard was "No seras tu" and it always tripped me out because he was never explained until years later that i found out about the movie nosferatu
This was the best lineup of episodes they have done so far.
Around Christmas, Nickelodeon did Holiday commercials with all of their characters in the style of Claymation Christmas movies like Rudolph. In it you see a photo of Sponge-Bob with his pants ripped which is technically the photo of him at the Christmas Party.
Band Geeks is by far one of the best episodes of the series, as well as one of Squidward's finest moments.

Band Geeks is both funny and incredible. Sweet Victory performance was fantastic and it got me feeling emotional because this was dedicated to Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob Squarepants. His legacy will live on forever. RIP legend

It's one of those things that rarely gets talked about cause depending on the person it can be kinda awkward but we all have strong opinions on it
I agree with Sean that underwear is too expensive. I have sensory issues so I can't wear certain fabrics or anything too loose so I don't have many cheap options, best I can get is 5 pairs for at least $35, but 20 years? Nah man, for me it's 3 tops. And bouncing off Ruff's point about having more available, I believe that everyone should have at least 15 pairs, if not 20+ just so you have extras whenever you do laundry and don't have to resort to less comfortable options😅
At the end of the day, wear whatever makes your goods feel healthy and comfy

The secret photo will only ever be POSSIBLY known by people who watched a Nickelodeon "Christmas Special" block.
The in-betweens of shows were basically a giant Christmas bash with all of Nickelodeon's show characters together.
I'm still pissed, cause I remember wanting to watch it SOOO bad. Since it was out first year with Direct.
My parents decided we were gonna go to Austin for a family Christmas, and that "all shows like this have a re-run."
Only to get back, and find out it was one of the real first Story Blocks (Like Toonami's story.) And I'd NEVER get to see it.😂

My suggestion for whenever you get to the point in the series where you are done I suggest finishing off with the original movie.

Kid you not, Band Geeks was the first episode of spongebob I ever saw. My school's gym coach gave us the day off from gym and instead let us was an episode of spongebob as a treat. That's a core memory right there.

I can relate to SpongeBob taking out the trash at night. Most of the time, I close our clinic and take out the trash, but it’s scary being by myself especially when it’s the dark Daylight Savings Time and the dumpster is behind our building in an ally way near a parking lot and who knows what lurks in there!😬
