Luv how you utilize ‘realistic’ trim models that the majority actually buys ( not not 100k+ models no one can afford). Thanks for doing those drags!!! Many can relate to those cars.
I appreciate that!
@@SamCarLegionand also like how you show things like gas mileage. That goes a long way with someone looking to buy on a budget lol
Audi has a 7 speed dual clutch. Also has launch control, but doesn't look like it was used in this video. Audi would be even quicker with launch control engaged!
I’m still picking the RDX over them both. My 2nd pick will be the Q5. Lets Roll!!!
As an owner of 2023 Q5 as well as A4, I’m very happy and satisfied to see this. EA888 in audi definitely performs beyond its hp figures.
ayy we have an A4 and a Q5 as well. What year is your A4? Tuned?
@@boostseason I have both 2023 models. Both of them stock though
Racing in this type of wet and snowy environment, really shows how well each vehicle performs. I expected the RDX to have a little more power off the line with its horsepower/torque ratio. Acura V-TEC power kicks in at 50mph+ with higher RPM rev range..Good race. Sam, waiting on you to do an Acura NSX Type S vs Chevy Corvette Z06 vs Audi R8 GT.
Your shows amazing, once again.
Odd - I'm a huge Audi fan especially the RS models - but when I saw this Audi had the least HP and Torque I was forced to accept it would come in last place in all the races. I am very surprised by the results! Great video again Sam! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Wow this video quality is another level
That VW DSG is quick! Germans in their own league as usual...
That Audi is an Acura if you know 😊
Sam, another fun video to watch. And as a new Audi owner, I love this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It looked like the Audi still had a delay in launching which would usually mean the transmission isn’t set to sport mode. Dynamic mode only, doesn’t change the transmission. Putting it in gear and then pulling back on the shifter should bring the revs up and allow launch control without the starting delay.
Had Q5 before my current X5. It was really nice car 👍 nice handling with great acceleration.
Dyno Tests needed here. audi has some cheat code
Good job Audi
I feel like you guys aren't launching that Q5 as you should.
great stuff Sam!
Why did you use launch control on the Q5 with transmission in sport mode? Would have been an even larger gap.
Love the drag races!! Can you do a drag race with the A4, c300 and bmw 330i. Would love to see the comparison
Smaller wheels on the Q5 is one reason it had lower fuel consumption.
I will still take the Acura RDX though.
The weather in Canada is... Eeehhh??? (For the algorithm)
Why not show the camera view from the lincoln so we can see how big the gap was?
Acura RDX is a beast
How come launch control was not used on the Audi?
The RDX would benefit from having the 10AT from the MDX/TLX Type S.
I own 2023 Audi Q5 S-line, and can confirm that it's a little quicker running our 18 inch rims and winter tires vs our 20 inch rims and Summer tires. So I'd say the RDX would be a lot closer if the tires were apples to apples rim and tire size wise.
but as others mentioned before, if the Q5 used Launch control, it would be an even bigger gap!
The wheels and tires don't make much difference. The engine and transmission make more power and shift faster. Audi underrated their power figures.
You should always use the paddle shifter to maintain a lower gear on an Acura if you want to accelerate fast.
I have a tune Corsair by livernois, it would be nice to see the diffence .... ( this message is specifically for Sam... )
Audi and Lincoln
Audi is from the land of the Autobahn. It shows 😊
Please do RDX XS NX.. Acura vs Lexussss
Isn't the Q5 a mild hybrid? All Audi 2.0t engines?
He said that in the video?
Which helps with the fuel economy, though I am surprised it's only 100lbs heavier than the RDX. Acura needs to use their hybrid technology as only the Integra gets good fuel economy, their other vehicles are mid or bottom of the pack for fuel economy.
@@tyhyhh he replied to my comment and he said he mentioned it. I will rewatch it again later.
Mild hybrid means just a second small 12v battery and a slightly different starter, not like a Prius type hybrid
Do a emergency break check from 60mph
Germans as always stating horsepower at the wheels. Love it. I would still take the GV70
That strip is most definitely wide enough for 3
It’s not - around the edges the runway is not levelled properly because of the drain system. So when you are racing car is out of balance
I goes against new q5 on my 2020 subaru outback 2.4 xt ,and I won for all times we run
There’s 2 trims on the Q5. The 40tfsi and the 45tfsi. The 40 only has 201 hp where the 45 has the 261.
@ryanturnerboles it was 45 , and I beat him. Actually I'm not impressed, new 2.4 from subaru is awesome
I would still buy the Audi Q5 over any Subaru, sorry 😂
@@yulianmarkevych2709 you didn’t beat any Q5. Car and Driver got 5.5 second 0-60 on the 45 Q5 and the Subaru isn’t even in the same ballpark. Maybe you beat him in comfort mode 😂
@ryanturnerboles what ?) I beat him twice ,I write for YOU again . Acceleration times of German cars always record from launch .
My mom has a Q5, and once it’s rolling, it’s surprisingly quick. It also gets at least 36mpg on highway, which is good. I have an SQ5, which is quicker, but it doesn’t run away from the Q5. Mileage isn’t as good, but still just over 30mpg on the highway.
Ea888good
Having a large diameter whee is not smart if it affects efficiency. Seems like Audi beat Acura on the efficiency factor and response time
Better transmission
I wish if it’s allowed that you make clip MdX typs s race with bmw X5 m40i let people fan of MDX know how it's!! For myself My BMW 40i won many times MDX A spe of my friends.
Did it
@@SamCarLegion let me search it thank you.
Mental, this was a cake walk for the Audi and it had less hp and tq. It does weigh lighter but not by much. As expected from ze germans ;)
It has more hp and torque, they just advertise it with less
That Audi sounds interesting for ummm stock… I’m guessing it has a tune.
It also has a jet engine and drag tires
@@SamCarLegion😂😂😂😂
I’m surprised the Audi didn’t have to go to the repair shop during the course of this video.
Looked like all of them had a lil powder up its nose but the Audi had a little too much! Please don’t ban me.
Germans still lying about HP numbers?? The RDX styling might be a bit better but the Audi would be the easy choice between power, fuel economy, and brand in my mind at least. Congrats on running a drag race in the snow, for these cars it makes virtually no difference so why not?
Virtually no difference?
Yep, they are all AWD with roughly the same HP, the weather has an equal effect on each and the results are still relevant. Run it in the summer and I bet you get the same results. @@SamCarLegion
You can watch the Q5 race and RDX i did in hot weather
@@SamCarLegionthe Q5 has received a good amount of updates since then, with the addition of a mild hybrid etc. Acura takes too long to update their vehicles
@@layne4376got the same Q5. Has not been in the shop every month 🙄🥴
Two PERMANENT FWD "awd type" vs a real symetrical AWD suv. Obvious results expecially on could and wet surface.
But who could be so s. to buy a strong FWD bias non permanent awd medium suv.. of frankly said.. a FWD medium suv, because those cars did use front wheels ONLY in 99% of running time due to entire lifespan?
This makes no sense. The Audi is not as fast as the RDX. The RDX is 0-60 5.5 from 2019 and up. The q5 2.0 shouldn’t be faster
The RDX is a high 6 second to mid 7 second car. It’s not fast
Car and Driver rates the Q5 at 0-60 of 5.5 sec. The Acura is in the 6’s. I can assure you the Acura is slower.
I have a 2019 RDX with SH-AWD and it's definitely not doing no 5.5 sec 0-60. Alex on Autos says 5.7 sec and I'm trying to figure out how he even got that lol
No Japanese or Korean can beat German
Nah, Audi has a chip. How can a car with more weight and less power comparing to RDX win like this ?!
There is no way that Q5 is 38.5 mpg unless its a hybrid or something. Someone made a mistake on their math. 28.5mpg is realistic.
I said in the video mild hybrid
@@SamCarLegion . I must be still really sleepy this morning when i watched your video and didnt catched you said it.
I had a 2019 Q5 45 non-hybrid with 19" wheels. On a trip from Denver to Florida, the best mpg I received (which was all highway miles) was 34.4 mpg. I did verify this at the pump. I never saw under 30 mpg on the highway. Over the life of the vehicle, I averaged 28.6, according to the trip computer. It only had a little over 22,000 miles when I sold it in February 2024. I really loved the car. Overall, I did drive her pretty mellow.
Lincoln looks better
PS: Why audi driver did not brake boosting at launch?!
Another bunch of cars which sounds as some metal boxes full of bolts. HORRIBLE sound for all... better don't try sound for stock cars, they are garbages-shit... except some sporty variants as m4, etc.
Stop adding these fake engine sounds
Yeah Sam that’s why people doesn’t do races in “auto shift mode” in any part of world but here 🙅🏻
Yes they do. They shift to redline no matter what.
