Misa says she likes to play without shoes so she can feel the kick drum directly into her body so she can play dead on the beat with Akan. Makes sense , as by the time the kick goes thru the production chain , could be some micro delay. Misa cares about the beat and accuracy, She is always ON it !

And the Maids are also a rare musical talent when it comes to songwriting. The test? Ask yourself to name your top ten songs from your favorite bands. Can you quickly name that many? Ask Band Maid fans. Not only will they struggle to limit their favorite songs to only ten, but you’ll probably find no two lists match. For their concert tours, they never play the same sets twice. They have so many hits that they have an abundance of songs to rotate in and out of the sets. "You don't see that very often" is a perfect testment to the greatness of Band Maid. They write songs that are catchy... Songs that leave you no option but to enjoy and bang with it. They also are the best in any live setting. They execute and play like their lives depend on it. Every member is a phenom and they just play well and blend well together. They captivate and interact with the crowd and of course just to make it even better... they are charming as hell too.
Great reaction! One can't go wrong with any of their over 120 original songs, however this band excels in live concerts as you saw. They are able to bond with their audience in a special way that will fill their performances with high energy which is transferred back to the crowd which fires them up even more. The audience participation you mentioned at 2:40; rather than being a Japanese thing, it is a Band-Maid audience thing. We also do it in the US. Saiki urges them on and gives a thumb up of approval. Misa has said that she plays barefoot as she can feel the band through the stage, she was the only one that didn't wear in ear monitors for a while although I think she does now. She comes a cropper at festivals in the summer when it's hot and will then put on very minimal slipons as the stage can be very hot.
IIRC they mentioned somewhere that unlike the others she has pass-through holes in her IEMs. Makes me a little worried about hearing loss for her, depending on how large they are.

It's a trope that bassists are guitarists who can't make it, but I think a good bassist hears music differently; from the bottom up rather than the top down. In MISA's case she started on guitar and her high school sensei/upperclassman/mentor asked her to join his band on bass. She borrowed one, liked it, bought her own and played in Prototype for five years before joining Band-Maid. She still plays guitar and keyboards, and you know she loves bass. You mentioned Lovebites and they were there, on the walkway rail about halfway down stage left.

It's a Rock thing and has been from the beginning, These chicks are pure rockers and it's fantastic to see.
The whole song is epic but Akane's work on the drums to drive the beat is God tier. She's the best drummer in the world, imho.
