Great for we who are new, or, like myself, getting back to the hobby after years of absence. This is why I buy from Horizon/Spektrum. You got me back in and so I'll stay with you. Well except for that Ugly Stick V2 from Durafly that I went elsewhere for. You didn't have one of those, but an AR620 antenna-less receiver and my DX6e is what makes it great. Thanks again guys.
This is a FANTASTIC VIDEO the only draw back is the glare from the fluorescent lights above the desk, sometimes you can’t see the display. But I’m still gonna give you a five star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this video helped me so much to get used to my new DX6e, I love it NOW.
I have a 6e and bound to a Carbon Cub. In the Safe mode the down elevator moves so little that it is very hard to bring the plane down for landing. But out of safe there is no problem. Any thoughts
I just bought one of these radios and am having a hell of a time figuring it out! Right now its stuck on "WARNING throttle high". How do get out of this or return the radio to factory settings?
Hi, at 6:15 it mentions " If your safe model has little or no down elevator, make sure that AUX1 (channel 6) is set up correctly". I've tried several times with my Mini apprentice and my DX6 and still very little down elevator, its fine with the supplied DXE? Thank you
I offer this opinion as a complete beginner, a person who has no RC experience, owns nothing, but enjoys watching others fly and is interested in getting into the hobby. I watched the video because it said "Beginner" and I wanted to see if I could understand how this stuff works. From that perspective, this was a great video up to about 3:30. After that, I have no idea WTF he's talking about. He pressed what button? For what? Use a rubber band to measure what? 100 of what? This may be a very useful video for others but the impression it leaves me with is, "If this video is for beginners, I think I need to find some other hobby." I know better than that, I'm sure I could learn with a personal trainer like through the Horizon Hobby RC Flight School but learning anything from this video as a complete beginner? No way.
I agree. For example, the discussion about telemetry should start with what it is, when and why do you use it before jumping right into the "how". In general, a beginner instruction should be consider who, what, when, where, why and how.
i wrote technical instruction manuals for industry for 40 years..and taught from them..you have to always remember how much a novice doesn't know..what's simple for you may be totally foreign to anyone else and they'll be to embarrassed to tell you.. ps I'm getting back into the hobby after 25 years ..and I ( a laser cnc instructor ) am quite lost ...lol
This is a beginner’s video? He didn’t show how to bind a plane. You can’t see what he is clicking on, the camera is too far away. Where is the on/off button? What is a safe plane, panic, expo, telemetry? This seems very complicated…
Thank you. I have very recently purchased my 1st plane and this transmitter, (it hasn’t been unboxed yet). I will probably need to rewatch this video a few more times as I set up, because of my inexperience. But I believe that it will be easier to follow than the manual provided with the radio.
Bro I just got the DX8 G2 and this is my second radio I have the DXE non-computer soon as I go to program it on the computer I have all kinds of problems this is what I was afraid of I'm still trying to figure out if I should download and program the new one cuz God damn it don't give me a controller that works just for the airplanes you know it's got to control the whole world spin... you understand, and it's just to keep you busy ,so you can charge all your LiPO batteries get every plane that you have ,ready to go in the car you're at the Flying Field"" and"" the controls are all backwards on your controller..( rackin frackin snapping cracking) now how in the hell did this happen? so you spend the rest of the day trying to figure out what happened ,meanwhile all your buddies are flying having fun laughing and carrying on.... but the second you get that stupid little plant in the air everything melts away... why..lol..:(:(:(:(
mojo 410 Captain Caveman, I think that I have it sorted for beginner flying. Had to reverse two channels, put in a throttle cut, set 3 x rates + expo, added a aileron/rudder mix (I can switch that on & off, just in case). Then I got “cocky” & decided to program flapperons! That took me some time to figure out. Fortunately I’m not in a hurry, the plane looks good on the ground, so now I wait for the perfect opportunity to take it to the local RC flying club. Wish me luck.
Just nit picking here but I’m pretty sure the sport sub s doesn’t use a y wire for its ailerons and is indeed dual aileron, just basing it on that the controller board has two separate ports. If I’m wrong please reply
I am interested in installing a spectrum Receiver in my new FMS RED TAIL MUSTANG 1.7m. Can I purchase a receiver with safe included?, which one should I get?, and do I need to program it?
Hi Steve! We would recommend an AR637T or AR8360T. It would need to be setup and we have a lot of videos and there are some great 3rd party videos on setting up our latest and greatest AS3X and SAFE receivers.
Hello! I'm just a beginner and I would do like to have your opinion about the Spektrum DX6 or up, like the XD8 for Gliders as the Fly Fly ASW 28 which I guess are the models with the "simple" setups and commands comparing with Race Drones, Helis and other kinds of more complex models. By the way I am planing to have all setup with Spektrum products, transmitters, servos etc etc. So what are you think? Thank you very much!
Hello, It was a question! :) I would do like to hear your opinion and suggestions about the best Spektrum (includentes the Rc) set up for the Fly Fly ASW 28 Glider that I will be purchasing soon. Thank you! ;)
Awesome thanks for clarifying! That looks like a basic 4 channel glider. I would say the DX6 would be a great choice for it because it has all the sailplane features you would need as well as voice output, which is nice to have if you use variometer telemetry.
I was thinking about the DX8 considering the cost x benefices of it. Anyway the DX6 seems to be a great option too, once I intend to fly only gliders. Thank you very much! ;)
I recently got the Spektrum DX8e I wanted to use it with my Apprentice STS but I have a challenge setting up the beginner intermediate and expert mode to work on one of the switches Any assistance will help
This video should help! Essentially you just need to go to the Channel Assign menu, and change Gear (Channel 5) to the B switch. For Panic set Aux1 to I in the same menu. Hope that helps!
Quick question. Do you know how to reset to factory settings. It asked me to recalibrate it and when I did it swapped the throttle to the right and elevators to the left and idk what to do. Help!!!!!!
I just purchased a dx6e and have only used it for a couple hours on a pc sim (15-20 mins at a time over a couple days) and the stock batteries are already throwing a low voltage warning. I was wondering if that was normal for the stock batteries to have that short a lifespan. I'm planning on getting a lipo for it but I wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the transmitter itself? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
FYI, when Consumer Reports tested alkaline batteries they found a capacity range of 7X. So name brand/relatively expensive ones costing 4X what you might pay at a discount store ("dollar store", in the US) might actually be a significantly better value, and a lot safer for your model. I put the cheap stuff in things like TV remotes, but pay up for anything controlling an air vehicle. In the case of really cheap batteries, I'm guessing there might not be enough time between a low-voltage warning on the transmitter and range becoming impaired in the middle of a flight.
hi newbie here question about arming multicopters won't let me arm motors. ...it's fine in software but when I want to calibrate motors it won't let me. ...any suggestions I have it setup for multi rotor should it be setup as acro had the old dx6i before the new DX6E
Could be a lot of things. Does it still work with your 6i? It will work fine in Multirotor mode if you have the switches and travels setup propperly. How do you have arming setup (Switch or sticks) ?
It works with the old dx6i but once I bind it to the new radio it wouldn't my software is mission planner and everything seems to be correct had to reverse some channels but that's normal
Is there another video that covers setup for quads and/or helicopters? I've set up my Blade Zeyrok to the DX6e radio but can't switch flight modes. The radio shows the different modes but nothing happens when i flip the switch.
I have a nano cps I setup per horizon using the dx6 configuration in the manual Im using the DX6e. Why cant i check pitch pre flight pitch does not move, i can fly the heli using the dx6 but i was able to check all movements pre flight with the crappy rtr radio but only elevator and aileron using the dx6e.
Would really like to see how to set up the Spektrum for quads. Completely new to the hobby TX and no longer use the included TX that came with the Inductrix and Nano QX. Bought the DXe for simplicity, but would buy the DX6e if I knew how to program it.
For the Inductrix and Nano QX it really is essentially bind and fly. If you follow these instructions it will help you assign dual rates and expo if you want to use that. Otherwise, to change flight modes, follow our instructions for assigning the I button to gear and you are good to do. FYI We will be doing a more indepth multirotor setup video, but that will be geared more toward racing quads.
These radio transmitters are quite sophisticated. There are so many options, it's difficult for a new person to understand everything. The manual that comes with the transmitter is lacking on instructions in some areas. The manual has very little information on dual rates and exponential. It should have very detailed information on how to set up D/R and Expo.
The Manual was put together by the programmers and not someone with literary skills. There's to much 'Oh the customer knows all this stuff anyway attitude.
I'm a newbie, I recently bought the DXe, a Hobizon Chat person recommended it to me. I am wondering how to get the flight mode switch to work for the Sport Cub S? I am able to fly the Sport Cub S with the DXe but I can't get it out of beginner mode...?
Excellent video. I just bought DX6e for my new Freewing AL37 Airliner and there are 7 connectors nicely labeled as UBEC/BEC, Throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, landing gear and flaps. I have Specktrum AR620 receiver with 6-channels and one battery conn slot. I also noticed that the DX6e has the channels listed as throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, gear:flap and AUX1: Left Ail. Does that mean that I have to rename the port 6 from AUX1 to flap in order to utilize the last channel port for flapsI am a little confused as I do not have AUX connection?
Hi Guys I want to know if some oye has program the Delta Ray with the gen 2 dx8 Im having problems with the set up the plane is flying without the fligth modes Regards
Thanks for the video, very useful. Slowly working out my DX6, however where everyone else seems to have THR AIL ELE RUD, mine has ALT ROL PIT YAW. So when ImmersionRC tell me "Travel on channels 1-4 (THR, AIL, ELE, RUD) must be increased to +/- 148 - Two channels need reversing, AIL, and RUD." I get a bit flummoxed.
@@SpektrumRCvideos hi how do I change a model on dx8 gen2 i.e if I'm flying a fusion 360, I've finished flying with it and then I want to fly a mini comet Heli, how do I change over without switching of the transmitter? Please help
Sascha Tepperwien It is a option in the servo setup menu. When you open Servo setup, hit travel scroll right and reverse is one of the next options. Once there select the channels you wish to reverse and you're good to go.
How do I get my motor to run on the stick the flaps on normal don't work the way they should its brand new thr spectrum I'm new to this flying made f22 card 30ins wing span I'm using 220kv 30amp speed controller battery 11. 1 amp 1000 mah prop 5/2 in do you think it will fly
Sounds like you might have your transmitter set to sailplane mode, which unless you are using it for a full house glider, you are better off using acro mode for simplicity. hope that helps!
@@SpektrumRCvideos hi thanks for reply I'm not being onidt I made a stupid mistake which is not like me it could be I'm not well but when came to connect speed control 3 wires to motor red and black to battery I got it the wrong way. Relised what I had done I'm thinking I've fried a few components I changed the speed controler and motor I didn't replace reciver coud that bad mistake damage the reciver. Yes when I bind and use throttle the flap moves on that side the other works from flap stick but just side ways can't get to do both. Like I say I'm new to this hobbie. I've loads of connections on battery never made this mistake before I had to solder a different connection it coud have been that not consetrating properly
Connecting the 3 motor leads to different colors will not damage anything and in actuality it will work just fine like that, but the motor may run in reverse. That said I would suggest double checking all your connections, especially the ones going into the receiver. Signal + and - need to match up.
@@SpektrumRCvideos hi thanks for reply no what happened I contacted the battery to wrong connection on speed controller. Nothing happened like burning or noise on utube someone said if you do that I can fry the components. I've changed motor and speed controller connection's the write way but throttle moves one flap the flap stick moves the other side ways not up and down. I've connected up servos yellow wire always at top red then black the controller speed is battery wire then reciver wire in port one it's white at top then red then black I think it could be my settings on transmitter I haven't got a clue. I'm one of these people if shown I get it straight away to read instructions hopeless I'm great with my hands the plane I made us really good
I just bought my first radio and it’s a DX6, I am so confused like many others, are there any other avenues to go to so I could really understand all the functions and how to use them in using the radio for an aircraft. Since I’m a total beginner I’d like to set up the radio for a total beginner. Anyone near Danbury ct. that might be able to help? Thanks in advance.
I would like to add that since I purchased my Dx6e 6 months ago I have had ongoing trouble with the on/off switch. Eventually no matter how long you long press it, it would not shut off, and I had to pull a battery. That same day while trying to power on the switch broke and fell into the radio. Bad design I liked the old switch much better because now I have to send my radio in and I won't be able to fly for over a month.
i have the Dx6e and im having problems with it. 1st the backlight wouldnt turn off and now nothing turns on. i made a short video on my page to show the backlight issue.
I have had this radio about 10 months now. I seem to have lost volume on my tones. To the point where they are barely audible. Can you help as I used the timer on models with no osd. Thank you
Hi Scooby, that is odd... Honestly never seen a buzzer in one of these go bad! It is likely hardware related, could be damage from a drop, hard to say! That being said, please send the radio to your nearest Spektrum repair center for service and we can get it back in working order. Thanks!
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thank you. I'll consider your suggestion, although with me being a novice with only a years experience and just started flying acro, I can't see me being parted with my transmitter anytime soon.
DargoDog we have videos on how to use AVC and videos on programming our more popular radios on our channel. Just go to the videos tab on there and there are playlist for each subject. Also Check out our SpektrumRC Facebook page for more content. Hope that helps.
Is there a way to reset the system setup. I accidentally put that the controller is running on lipos with the highest battery voltage warning. My controller is running on aa batteries. Idk what to do. I hope I didn't screw anything up
You have about 10 seconds from power on to the alarm going off to change the setting. If you are quick you can change it. Trust me you are not the only person to do this! If you need help call our support line they can walk you thru it. Good luck.
For a 3D heli, I would recommend the DX6e at the very least. But honestly I would suggest upgrading to the NX8 to make sure you have all the channels and capabilities you need for future RC models.
I'm no expert on radios but I think they are all pretty complicated! The dx6e seems to be the cheapest option with a screen so you don't need a computer to program it yet still a good quality radio. Hopefully it's got better functionality and build quality than my old flysky tx. Waiting for mine in the mail now along with my blade theory type w :D
Hello I have been having problems with my Dx6e. I have been treating it well but the power button got stuck and can’t turn it on to get the serial number. Has anyone had this problem or can someone help?
i had trouble telling how many buttons or switches were being pressed at the same time the way his fingers were bouncing around all the time. other than that its a pretty useful video.
I know how to use the flap delay for the spektrum DX6e so that the flaps lower and raise slowly. Does anyone know if I can also add a delay for the landing gear so that they also extend and retract slowly?
i have tried everything to get my friends new dx6e to bind with safe select on his parkzone f4f wildcat with no luck, but when i turn off his transmitter the safe select engages and the plane start trying to self correct sitting in the cradle? anyone else have this weird issue? any ideas would be appreciated. thx
Hi friend, nice video. I have a really big problem I think. Last time when I meet a "instructor" to fly my apprentice plane for the first time, we linked the transmitter using the trainer port, my DXe spektrum did not work at all. I am new with this, but the instructor evidently, seemed he did not what he was doing. My DXe stop working , it went off. I tried to turn ON , it turned on, it beeps few times , then continue beeping constantly. The transmitter is unresponsive, I can not bind back to the plane, it continuously beeping. I tried to use with a simulator and everything works except for I can not control the speed , I can take off but no landing because is at high speed all the time( thaks god is with the simulator). I read that the throttle might be bad , hope not.I totally lost. I have not contact Horizon yet. The store from where I bought they don't what could be, they say , never seen that before, Please advise
Likely you changed the battery type in the system menu. Hold the scroll button as you power on and go down to that system menu and adjust. Hope that helps!
Hi you skip past F-Mode setup and Flight mode Name.Followed all your instructions, safe mode does not work correctly. When i reverse aux switch B doesn't work, makes know difference whats so ever. Help
F-mode setup is more advanced and flight mode name is part of F-mode setup. This was more for beginners so if you are setting up a beginner / Safe model you do not use F-mode setup, just channel assign. What Safe Model do you have?
Hi I have an apprentice has the 3 position switch, but can only get beginner and advance, i tried a replacement transmitter but made know difference its not a big problem as i can get by with two,its just annoying as its all new equipment.thanks for your reply.
My apologies for the late reply. How I program the Sport Cub S in this model is exactly the same as an Apprentice S. Go to Channel assign and, hit Next, and assign Channel 5 Gear to the B switch an d Aux1 to the I. Then go to Servo Setup, Reverse, and Reverse the Aux1 Channel. You will have all 3 flight modes on the B Switch. No need to go into the Fmode setup or Name menus for this type of flight mode function.
I know this Video is 7 years old BUT - I'm a NOOB & I search out videos like this to set up my Brand New Spektrum DX6e TX which I just bought. So, the video is Very Informative & covers just about everything I would need to know but I have to point out that you missed a big part for us NOOBs. I have no clue about Dual Rates & Expo so I need the correct information. The video shows to change settings to our liking for these but it does not show that you need to Change the Settings for Each, Aileron, Elevator & Rudder. I don't think that just changing the settings for Rates & Expo only on Airerons will affect Rudder & Elevator. At least on my TX when I changed the "C" switch from High to Low position the Rudder & Elevator did not change. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thank you spectrum RC. I do have that one in my saved videos and have watched it. I would appreciate it if someone could reply to my comment and questions. Am I correct in what I pointed out is missing in the video? Thank you for your time and great products.

@SpektrumRC, I've been baffled by one big issue, could you please help? The second I connect the motor, it goes on CONSTANTLY non-stop. The nothing affects it! COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME, pleaaase?!
Azillion 737 Hey... So I finally found out that I can't use dc motor directly. I need an ESC. Im so new to this magic as u can tell. Thanks for checking!
Real Flight's interface only works with SLT protocol radios. There is our wireless sim stick (spektrumrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPMWS1000) Not sure if this will work with RF7.5 but it is worth researching. Hope that helps!
Dear Kevin Morse, Thank you for being so positive, but your comment about me being slow is just disgusting. It reflects who you really are. Maybe you should take some of your positive and change that. And yes I did rewind countless times, only to discover the some of the switches he is referring too are never shown on the video. But not to worry, I eventually found other videos that were easy to understand and now I know how to work every single feature on my DX6e.
I wish SpektrumRC would make a more beginner video than this. I just bought the DX6e and couldn't follow this. When you know the product already, you don't realize that you have experience the novice doesn't have. Just some helpful feedback to whoever makes these videos. Please make a newer video intro to the DX6e. That would be awesome.
Attempting to follow the manual is even worse. Rather than concise step by step instruction the manual is basically all over the place - very confusing.
Agree. This video assumes you are very familiar with the DX6e. You're moving too fast through the steps for a complete novice. The manual doesn't even show you how to add a model one step at a time.
The mark of a good teacher is the ability to view the subject from the point of view of the student and then sequence the information so that all required background is established before presenting a new topic. This guy ain't it.
Hi Antonio, The product pages for each unit should help. Also this comparison chart may be helpful - www.spektrumrc.com/Content/Media/PDF/49890-dot-8-air-tx-chart.pdf
Basic Model Set Up my A$$... You lost me at 2:25 where you switch to "Channel Assign" so fast Its nearly impossible to see which buttons you pressed to get there. After that you talk so fast its ridicules. Just because you know everything about the DX does not mean you go like lighting... What I don't get is I'm just trying to set up a Simple 4 channel J3 Cub like the one you have but you go off on a tangent like you're fine tuning 100 electronic gadgets on a late model Ferrari. Please, how about a very simple and slow tutorial on how to set up a J3. Sorry I'm not all high tech like you guys.
He can't help it that you are slow, hit the rewind button watch it a few times. Do each thing on the transmitter to see if it works, I can't is not a good way to think, I can is. I learned a lot from this video that's because I can.
The camera should have been closer to the screen so we could read it. Your hand covered the transmitter so that I could not see which buttons or switches were being pushed. Now I'm confused. I'll look for another tutorial.

@@SpektrumRCvideos Thanks for your recommendation. I appreciate the quick response. Very happy with Spektrum products!
I want to know if the dx6e will bind to a msrx?Been looking for answer for hours. The damn manual should have a list of models it binds to.
If the receiver is dsmx, you would think it would work, at least if the transmitter had the new firmware update.
Felipe Araújo Hello , Must be a language barrier, is this a question or a statement. Could you rephrase?
Hello,
It was a question! :)
I would do like to hear your opinion and suggestions about the best Spektrum (includentes the Rc) set up for the Fly Fly ASW 28 Glider that I will be purchasing soon. Thank you!
Thank you very much! ;)
What does all the switches on top do please,
anyone know where to find info for setting up the DX8 with a SAFE Rx.....no flaps......... thanks
anyway awesome information and it would be great if someone did a video on multicopters with the new DX6E..... thanks,
Sounds like a plan, might be a good idea for the Spektrum F400 FC that is coming out soon.
Hi so I just noticed that I don't have a single in the upper left corner but my tx had a good bind
That symbol represents Telemetry, are you using a telemetry receiver?
No ok I'm useing ar610 receiver. ...thanks
Does this transmitter work with the ar630?
I have a dx7s, it seems like it should set up the same as a dx6?
For the most part yes, but some menus have changed some since the older version of Airware on the DX7s. Hopefully this helps you walk thru setup :)
I recently got the Spektrum DX8e
I wanted to use it with my Apprentice STS but I have a challenge setting up the beginner intermediate and expert mode to work on one of the switches
Any assistance will help
This video should help! Essentially you just need to go to the Channel Assign menu, and change Gear (Channel 5) to the B switch. For Panic set Aux1 to I in the same menu. Hope that helps!
@@SpektrumRCvideos will set this up then get back to you with feed back
Currently my I Button is being used as trainer
Quick question. Do you know how to reset to factory settings. It asked me to recalibrate it and when I did it swapped the throttle to the right and elevators to the left and idk what to do. Help!!!!!!
Nice, even though I have a DX9, a lot of this material was helpful to me - Especially dual rates.
bltefft I agree, the manual isn’t really beginner-friendly when I comes to these small but important features.
Thanks!
Hard to say with AA batteries. Could have been that one was a weak cell. With similar models you would normally get 4-6 hours of run time.
Oh ok. They were just the cheap ones that came with it. I'll try some new batteries and see how it goes. Thanks for the quick response!
With brand new batteries (AA) it still burned through .3V in about 15 mins going from 6.1 to 5.8V. Is this normal? Any help is appreciated!
Could u plz tell me which sim use? I tried with phoneix it doesn't work even with RF7.5.. do u have any simu work with this transmitter?
FYI, when Consumer Reports tested alkaline batteries they found a capacity range of 7X. So name brand/relatively expensive ones costing 4X what you might pay at a discount store ("dollar store", in the US) might actually be a significantly better value, and a lot safer for your model. I put the cheap stuff in things like TV remotes, but pay up for anything controlling an air vehicle. In the case of really cheap batteries, I'm guessing there might not be enough time between a low-voltage warning on the transmitter and range becoming impaired in the middle of a flight.
I’m more confused now then before. Thank you.
It's because these vids are drawn out and contain to much froth. Who even needs background music in a tutorial anyway.
How do I set it to a ground vehicle. A Tank to be precise.
Can that one fits completely on a Carbon Z Cub S+ with FLAPS?? And Safe+, Auto-Landing and everything functioning?
hi newbie here question about arming multicopters won't let me arm motors. ...it's fine in software but when I want to calibrate motors it won't let me. ...any suggestions I have it setup for multi rotor should it be setup as acro
had the old dx6i before the new DX6E
Could be a lot of things. Does it still work with your 6i? It will work fine in Multirotor mode if you have the switches and travels setup propperly. How do you have arming setup (Switch or sticks) ?
Throttle stick down to the right to arm
It works with the old dx6i but once I bind it to the new radio it wouldn't my software is mission planner and everything seems to be correct had to reverse some channels but that's normal
how does a beginner know if there is a y harness. That would be me. Confused and I do not even have a plane yet.......
I can explain..but I'm a little late...
Is there another video that covers setup for quads and/or helicopters? I've set up my Blade Zeyrok to the DX6e radio but can't switch flight modes. The radio shows the different modes but nothing happens when i flip the switch.
Same here... but I have not tried it in airplane mode like he suggests - maybe try that instead of multirotor - seems counterintuitive though....
ok so I have BLADE INDUCTRIX PRO and I got it to bind to my DX 6e but throttle will not work
I have a nano cps I setup per horizon using the dx6 configuration in the manual Im using the DX6e. Why cant i check pitch pre flight pitch does not move, i can fly the heli using the dx6 but i was able to check all movements pre flight with the crappy rtr radio but only elevator and aileron using the dx6e.
i want to take the throttle wedge out when its in 2/4 mode. i lose a little thottle travel. can you take the wedge out like the DX6?
Would really like to see how to set up the Spektrum for quads. Completely new to the hobby TX and no longer use the included TX that came with the Inductrix and Nano QX. Bought the DXe for simplicity, but would buy the DX6e if I knew how to program it.
For the Inductrix and Nano QX it really is essentially bind and fly. If you follow these instructions it will help you assign dual rates and expo if you want to use that. Otherwise, to change flight modes, follow our instructions for assigning the I button to gear and you are good to do. FYI
We will be doing a more indepth multirotor setup video, but that will be geared more toward racing quads.
Thanks, working toward a race quad setup so that video will be appreciated.
Great video. Clear instructions.
is it possible to bind this to a plane that already comes with its own transmitter? such as the new super cub s?
Harrison Long absolutely! Just follow the bind procedures and the setup in this video :)
Does that mean that I have to rename the port 6 from AUX1 to flap in order to utilize the last channel port for flapsI am a little confused as I do not have AUX connection?
what if i have a plane with flaps and gear and it’s only 6ch?
What does "Expo" mean and how do you use it?
Hi Guys I want to know if some oye has program the Delta Ray with the gen 2 dx8 Im having problems with the set up the plane is flying without the fligth modes Regards
What would have been nice is a closeup of the screen so you can see what is happening.
Thanks for the video, very useful.
Slowly working out my DX6, however where everyone else seems to have THR AIL ELE RUD, mine has ALT ROL PIT YAW. So when ImmersionRC tell me "Travel on channels 1-4 (THR, AIL, ELE, RUD) must be increased to +/- 148
- Two channels need reversing, AIL, and RUD."
I get a bit flummoxed.
In multirotor mode we opted to use multirotor terms. ALT=THR ROL=AIL ELE=PIT YAW=RUD.
Thanks, I wish ImmersionRC had followed your lead
@@SpektrumRCvideos hi how do I change a model on dx8 gen2 i.e if I'm flying a fusion 360,

hi awesome information. ...but how do you reverse channels? on the dx6e. ..thanks
Sascha Tepperwien It is a option in the servo setup menu. When you open Servo setup, hit travel scroll right and reverse is one of the next options. Once there select the channels you wish to reverse and you're good to go.
Thank you
SpektrumRC hi there is no servo setup on the dx6E
SpektrumRC I figured it out. ..thanks for you help
How do you do the dual rate combi? I did it on the DX6i, but can`t figure it out on this one
There is no Combi menu like th 6i. Simply choose the same switch in the Dual Rate menu for each control and you are good to go.
how do we set up motor timer so that timer only count down when throttle is activated.
Hi I am having trouble setting up 5 flight modes on my DX9. Do you have a detailed video on that?
I'm one of these people if shown I get it straight away to read instructions hopeless I'm great with my hands the plane I made us really good
I would agree it sounds like a transmitter setting. I would suggest creating a new default model file, in acro mode, and start from scratch.
1st the backlight wouldnt turn off and now nothing turns on. i made a short video on my page to show the backlight issue.
now it wont even turn on... yay
I'll consider your suggestion, although with me being a novice with only a years experience and just started flying acro, I can't see me being parted with my transmitter anytime soon.
can you loosen the gimbals one this remote?
I try bind my helicopter, but it is always says Bind Failed. Before everything worked
Great Video!!! Are there any programming modes available for surface RCs?
DargoDog we have videos on how to use AVC and videos on programming our more popular radios on our channel. Just go to the videos tab on there and there are playlist for each subject. Also Check out our SpektrumRC Facebook page for more content. Hope that helps.
Am I doiNg something wrong. My RX port assignments don’t work by toggling and no option for any switches?
how do you bind a dx5e with ar 500
Man this was a great information video.
Thank you🙏🏻
Do you need this remote to use the Safe system?
Sealios not exactly but it will make setup and moving past Safe models less painless
Good luck.

So confused now really don't know what radio to get now. Spectrum seem very complicated any radio suggestions
I'm no expert on radios but I think they are all pretty complicated! The dx6e seems to be the cheapest option with a screen so you don't need a computer to program it yet still a good quality radio. Hi friend, nice video. I have a really big problem I think. Last time
when I meet a "instructor" to fly my apprentice plane for the first
time, we linked the transmitter using the trainer port, my DXe spektrum
did not work at all. I am new with this, but the instructor evidently,
seemed he did not what he was doing. My DXe stop working , it went off. I
tried to turn ON , it turned on, it beeps few times , then continue
beeping constantly. The transmitter is unresponsive, I can not bind back
to the plane, it continuously beeping. I tried to use with a simulator
and everything works except for I can not control the speed , I can take
off but no landing because is at high speed all the time( thaks god is with the simulator). I read that
the throttle might be bad , hope not.I totally lost. I have not contact
Horizon yet. The store from where I bought they don't what could be,
they say , never seen that before, Please advise
Is the DX6e suitable for use with a simulator?
At this time no, it does not have a trainer port to use with simulator Cables.
I just changed my battery on my dx6, but it's telling me low battery. What is going on...please help
Ailerons in reverse?how to correct please
We have some other great videos on setting up dual rates as well :) ua-cam.com/video/LWEMJ4qKgyI/v-deo.html

What are the steps to add second model, third model? Spektrum product Support has not been any help.
I have the same question. These radios have discouraged me from the hobby.
Tom,
What can u show us for a helicopters model ?? What abt tht?
This is for a airplane.
Do a how to for a drone. I've got a team black sheep vendetta. A dx6e. How do I set up the drone from here.
Could you please show how to program each switch (channel) ?
Yeah I'm having a hell of a time trying to find the r knob on the controller DX8 G2...... me not know
How do we rename a plane?
Dear Kevin Morse, Thank you for being so positive, but your comment about me being slow is just disgusting. It reflects who you really are. Maybe you should take some of your positive and change that. And yes I did rewind countless times, only to discover the some of the switches he is referring too are never shown on the video. But not to worry, I eventually found other videos that were easy to understand and now I know how to work every single feature on my DX6e.
I can't get it to work and I did everything u said, can u make a video or tell me how to bind right after that cuz it is not working
Hi Devin, Make sure you are putting a bit of distance between radio and receiver when binding. Very important! Hope that helps!
SpektrumRC, i got it! I needed to lift the back up to lvl it out more and as soon as I did that it worked.
Great! Glad you figured it out! Enjoy!
