The boilers and steam turbines have pass through in/outputs so there is no need for piping in between them so they can be right next to each other if you want a nice compact design.
If you are good with your shot placement you can mine deep resources (that need Mining Force I) with explosives. The hard rock is blown up by even basic explosives, but resources are unaffected. And with practice you get pretty good placing the shot. Very useful for tunnelling through mountains. And yes, a lot of the game seems to involve waiting for tech to complete. You really can't speedrun the tech tree very efficiently.
Watch your power, if any single grid needs more than 5mw, you'll need burners to make up the differance until you get bigger transfomers, only one transfomers per power grid. The two turbines you have now produce more power than the small transfomers can handle so no need to add to that system until you've gotten the large transfomers
@@surtrplays I'll have to retract the above. I saw someone else who was able to do what wasn't working for me. IE have multiple transformers in a chain on one set of foundations. I now have 6 steam turbines hooked to 4 transformers all on the same set of foundations and I'm not getting the error I had previously. Seems to work ok now.
@@dragorin1108 I have reworked my power as well. I am up to 8 turbines and I have removed the pipes between them. A much nicer and compact arrangement than I first had. I have also added an extra transformer to my Olumite platform, because it was struggling. It works perfectly.
All of the big power items connect directly to the HFG. I'll have to check out about the multiple transformers per foundation (I've been planning on using insulators to split factories, but than again, until you need to [CENSORED] you don't need big factories because assemblers are quite efficient compared to .your ability to mine and move the resources. And then they deplete (far too soon).
HI Surtr, Have you heard of a Game called "Hard Space Ship breaker?" its on steam. In this game you disassemble space ships for scrap in order to pay off debt, the ships are very detailed and complex and there is a interesting story, would love to see you play it on your channel. p.s. the challenge comes from the salvaging activity, you have to use zero g physics to move the parts into the various salvage bays and use you head to figure out the best and fastest way to salvage various components without blowing yourself up or causing serious injury.
I'll check it out! There are so many good games and I want to play all of them. Unfortunately, I can only do this part-time for now. But that one sounds good.
Your first technum looks barely touched. I'd add several miners to that and not worry about new ore patches yet. Mine lasted way longer than you'd think.
Saw those comments being like "oh Foundry is a fisher price Satifactory." like come on, it early access and it has a certian graphical style. Still going to give it a few months to see how ti comes along though persoanlly. but vids fun to watch
I have 1600 hours in Satisfactory but I burnt out. I open the game now and look around for 2 minutes and close it. It is a great game but everything takes too long. Foundry feels different. Its a factory game but progress is faster, you aren't spending 60% of your time just building power and it is fresh. I'm enjoying it, even at this stage in development. Some people expect perfection in early access, and that is the biggest problem, other than people complaining about the Paradox loader. I didn't know I was supposed to care about that. It's about the game, isn't it? Thanks for watching.
just got home from work to a new video thank you Surtr love the games you play a lot
Thank you Sally.
Loving the Foundry content I was stuck on the water/steam production so thank you :)
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
cool looking game so far really enjoying this thanks have a great day my friend Peace 😃😃😃
Thank you very much for your support.
Thanks for the video!

Thanks. I thought that might be the case. Great tip.
thanks for the help with the boilers
My pleasure. I'm glad it helped.

I am getting pretty good with the explosives. Having the Jetpack helps.
great gaming bro ...have a great day my friend
Thank you 👍

The alternative would be to split grids if it comes to that. I will keep an eye. Thanks.

THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY MY LIVE ,,, FULL WATCH HERE
Thank you Joji. Nice to see you.
HI Surtr, Can those lights be automated like glow in the dark and switch off automatically in the morning?
Not that I can see but I will keep checking. They don't seem to use too much power and they are not overly bright, so not a problem.
I dug a tunnel under ground and ran pipe to bring water in to my base. I use it to power my steam generators and to make cement.

Thanks. It does last a very long time.
If only it had factorio-like inserters ( robot arms )...
I'm not convinced by this game yet. Will watch tho, to see how it evolves.
So far I am quite impressed. The further I go, the better it seems to get.
An explosive episode. Haha.
LOL. I'm going to be making tunnels and cave!!! Yeeehaaa!

Surtr i hope have a live stream soon☺️☺️☺️
Hi Eng. I am thinking of doing one as soon as I find the time.
