What could possibly go wrong? 😂 I foresee George cooking his tyres trying to gap the hyenas at his heel in the opening laps. This will OBVIOUSLY not last as he will fumble the bag as usual by mid-race or thereabouts 🤦♂️ I’m not sure my boy Hamilton still has the drive to push for the win tomorrow, he seems to comfortable with getting 3rd 😤 so it will most likely be Verstappen, Norris then Lewis/George

Hamilton's age is not an issue. He hasn't lost any speed. he just doesn't have Bottas as a team-mate anymore.

I know you like Sainz Cam. But he had an advantage over Charles this weekend. Carlos had the configuration of the car that was used in quali all weekend. Charles only received that at the start of qualifying.
Charles still holds the quali advantage 7-4 this year and had the upper hand in every stat over their partnership that matters. Race pace, average qualifying position, average finishing position. Charles also has more mechanic DNF’s.
It’s also intangible, but Charles racecraft is very good. Look at 2019 and 2022. Him and Lewis seem to be the only people who know how to race Max and have a good chance of coming out in top.
Sainz is very good and no doubt intelligent behind the wheel. But the truth is, in a championship fight, Charles will be the guy to take it to the likes of Lewis and Max.

Hammer was talking about working as a team in the race which is odd. Either he thinks plan B is better than plan A so happy to play 2nd fiddle at the start or he wants his Merc seat back

One thing to factor in is that the 2024 Merc car is no longer being built around Hamilton first, George second. It is now being built George first and for Hamilton's replacement, second. Surely, the car is moving more and more in the direction that favors George's driving style and general preferences.

As an ex Hzmmer fan I'm still struggling to place King George ahead tomorrow without a bit of luck
First corner's going to be interesting, but Max really was all over the place in quali ... changing conditions tend to separate the boys from the men. However that RB is quick off the line so Lando will have a fight at the start. Personally I'm hoping for on and off rain as I'd love to see Lewis, George and Lando take the podium at Silverstone! (all three shine in those conditions!)
I don't believe Max needs a dominant car, he just needs a car capable of winning. That's no different to any of the other F1 drivers, or any racer in any category actually. He won't complain with a dominant car of course, but again, I don't believe any driver would complain with a dominant car, Hamilton didn't complain for 8 years.

I have been following F1 since I can remember (1990), week in and week out. Humbly, I believe I have solid, above-average knowledge of this sport, which might not fit with your storytelling and your audience.
You are a funny storyteller, but how can you even sit for a second and talk to a camera and try to compare a two-race winner driver against the all-time records holder of this sport?
Are you trying to fuel a debate? Anyone with a minimum understanding of this sport knows it’s Lewis and Max, and then the rest.
Being an F1 world champion is one thing, but being a fast, in-form pilot is another.
In a 1v1 spread over a year across different circuits with varying weather conditions (rain), performing under pressure in battles, it’s only Lewis and Max. We had proof last week in Austria.
Lewis is 13 years older than George, the team’s departing driver, and the first to do the quali-lap (hence the least to use track evolution).
He is the last one to get upgrades over the season, yet the quali-track-time duo comparison has less gap between the pair of pilots.
Let me tell you something: Lewis Hamilton doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone in this sport. He was the talent of the previous decade, and this new decade already has its talent in Max, not George and I consider George a solid driver.
Another point: Mercedes’ quickest comeback in F1 history? It depends on your comparison benchmark. Personally, I strongly disagree. You don’t leave Abu Dhabi 2021 and show up in Bahrain 2022, Bahrain 2023, and Bahrain 2024 so far behind for such a dominant team. The quickest performance comeback can be considered McLaren from Bahrain 2023 to Austria 2023.

It was reported that GR took a new power unit this weekend. And that as a result he was 2-3 km/ hr faster on the long straights. This explains part of the gap.

I had an inkling that Merc would improve and that Hamilton may have made his decision to go to Ferrari to prematurely. And with the engine freeze ending next year, there is a good chance that Merc will be back on top.
I wouldn't say he left merc early, he's got what 3 yrs maybe 4 max . Ferrari was a dream of his an end of career the option was there why not take it.
Merc didn't really want to keep Lewis so he took up the option to leave early..

Max is not going to Merc because he will have to deal with Russell or Antonelli in the other car. As much as max is a great, he doesn't want the hastle and wants a clear number 2. That's why Perez is still there or Riccardo. He's going to be there until at least the new regs.
Max isn't going because of wolffieboy and merc being pretty poor at ground effect aero still. Max would make minced meat out of blimieboy or the Italian dud (cause he certainly is no Max, that much is obvious).

Everybody is a F1 driver and commentator ? If you don't or haven't driven a F1 car host included...then you have absolutely no idea what you have to do to be in this sport ! From the comfort of your Chesterfield you can do anything? You can kick the winning goal , you can win a stage in the Tour de France, you can drive and know how to operate a F1 car ! All from the safety of your Chesterfield . What you would do and what you are doing is a wake up call! Cause you're dreaming ! How profession are you at your job ? Are you the 7 time champ at your place of work ?

Russle has a pole good for him. Because when we talk about a complete race. LH will out perform him, every single time. Arnold once said he will always beat his competition. Because they are his kids and he is their father. Very much the case for Russle. I would be more worried about Max getting a new floor. He placed 4th with technical, and critical area of damage. Max just might end up with time in hand.

What I've noticed about Hamilton and George is that it's clear now-no excuses-Hamilton is officially slower over one lap than George. However, I still believe Lewis has superior race craft and can achieve better results if he manages to maintain his pace. Lewis excels in tyre preservation, but the truth is, as much as I admire him, he's nearly 40 years old. His prime years ended in 2021, and he managed to push himself in the last 5-6 races. Regardless of how well he maintains his fitness, as Bottas would say, it's all about the fine details. Losing a tenth in pace can mean a difference of 20 metres, which is significant in this sport.
Yes, Lewis is in excellent shape for his age, but the reality is that he's 40, and new champions are emerging-George, Lando, and Charles Leclerc represent a different generation. Lewis might still have a good chance next season if Ferrari steps up their game, but it's clear that age is catching up. We'll see how things go in the race tomorrow.❤🎉
Hamilton being outqualified by his teammate at Silverstone is nothing new. Kovalainen outqualified him in 08 and bottas in -19 and -20, He still beat them in the race

The RB20 is not easy to drive, and Max is masking serious issues. I believe the engine cover design and those tunnels have slowed the car down and are affecting the handling.
Lewis is not as quick as he was,, maybe it's not just reflexes, and perhaps not willing to take as much risk in the car as he did when he was younger.
Anyway, everyone wanted tight racing, here you are.
