Wasn’t initially impressed with the looks of the tft/dash but seeing it in operation in your previous walk around video and seeing it in operation think it’s better looking than the bigger tigers tft,tbh for most 80bhp is definitely enough power for enough fun with all the cameras about, great review as always, and totally agree with you regarding the new Highway Code rules.
Best bike reviews on youtube at the moment IMHO. & that accent is the icing on the cake! Ps those left turn rules are the same as what we have here in Australia. I moved here from the UK 11 years ago found it crazy at the start but its second nature now
Great review - I traded my 125bhp bike for one with 90bhp and I love it. I was for ever having to hold back the more powerful machine and it was so frustrating, I’d pull onto a main road accelerate up to the speed limit in second gear and then what - click up a couple more gears and pootle along at 2k revs. You have to work a less powerful bike much harder and it’s much more fun - it’s why 600cc sports bikes are so much better than their 1,000cc siblings. I live in Southport - I think I’ll avoid the pier cafe ice cream from now on!!! Keep up the good work.
Yes! I know exactly what you mean! It's fun to make them earn their keep 🤣🤣🤣 and yes! Defo avoid. It was the free standing one that was behind the bin as I threw away the ice cream! 😖
Picked mine yesterday , totally agree with Kate what a bike i;m still running it in 3500 revs first 100 miles then 6000 well i dont know till when lol , but so far its got good power delivery , good handling , sounds good too . think im the first one to buy from dealers near me :) good review Kate
I am definitely with you on the new highway code ruling, it is absolute madness. As far as I'm concerned, a pedestrian's place is on the pavement and bikes and cars place is on the road. If a pedestrian wishes to cross the road they wait until that road is clear. as far as I'm concerned, the only exception to that rule is a pedestrian crossing where pedestrians have right of way
Nice first ride review. Impressive so far sounds like alot of fun for the money. Same can't be said about the ice cream but you win some you lose some. All the best Kate.
Great video as always Kate, totally agree with you about the highway code changes , in what reality does that make any sense . Who in there right mind would say this is a good idea !.
Thanks Kate for the rides, reviews and great content you provide on UA-cam. I noted your comments regarding pedestrians rights of way as you approach a side road, in the interests of your safety the terminology used by the highway code is: you should, and not you must, therefore if you feel threatened by the traffic behind or around you it is not mandatory to stop and wait for the pedestrians to cross! The highway code is very good at being clear on what you must do, for example you must stop at a stop sign, or you must not enter a yellow box junction if it isn't clear except if turning right. So for your own safety and for the continuation of this great channel, please have a read through and understand what is really being said in the highway code and promote this to your viewers to keep all bikers and road users safe. Another great vid, though the best seaside ice cream is in Blackpool (Notarianni Ices). You're right about the highway rules change - and it will be especially dangerous at roundabouts.

It's a pity Triumph didn't develop this with a 19 inch front wheel in mind, without compromising the handling too much, as it'd be more surefooted on the occasional gravel track, paired with some Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres or similar. Having said that, if Honda pulled their finger out and did a spoked rimmed version of the 500X with 70HP there'd be little to touch it for a cheap, reliable adv touring bike. They're rumoured to be bringing out a new NX (dominator) based on the 500 twin so maybe that's why they're going down a more road oriented route with the CB. Will definitely book a test ride on the Tiger Sport though....see what all the fuss is about :)

Loved your views and comments on the bike. But more importantly I loved your comments about the new new highway code. The changes are all about pedestrians and bloody cyclists and not really concerned about motorcycles who do pay to use the roads.
Everybody who pays any taxes on any thing - even weans buying sweeties, pays toward the construction and upkeep of the roads. The priorities for all road-users have been well established, and regularly ignored by all-and-sundry, for many, many years. See all the cars parked on the footpath? Now imagine trying to get past in a wheelchair, or pushing a pram.

I am not putting wear on the raods or clogging the network while using thw pedal bike - I don't get any refund while the 3 vehicles I pay tax on sit at home. I like it.... think I would like to have a go on one of these! Should have listened to the ice cream vendor Kate... he obviously knew his ice cream was crap 🤣
I recently took one out for a demo ride and it was fitted with heated grips and a quick shifter. Yes I agree with you that the seat is on the firm side compared to my Vstrom 650xt, but the acceleration is phenomenal which more than compensates for the seat. The screen for me , I found to be noisy and no matter if it was low or in the high position produced a lot of buffeting but that could be down to my nex wed 2 helmet. Great review Kate and look forward to the next one 👍 😀 👏 👌.

@@UsernameKate yes the qs is super smooth and never used one before I found it was really easy to operate. And it makes the bike so much quicker to ride.
@@garyburton6833 question Gary if I may. How would you compare the engine of the vstrom 650xt against the tiger 660. Is the tiger 660 that much more powerfull? Thanks 👍
@@robertdobbelaer8503 Hi there Robert, being a triple and with 80hp yes it is better than my Vstrom 650xt that's my personal opinion and why I have took the plunge and ordered the new tiger 660 sport. Hope this helps you. Cheers.
It s a nice bike for normal daylong use not spectacular. There s one specific upside riding the first time in spring: no bugs. O and when you want to experience annoying behave of pedestrians en people on bikes, come to the Netherlands you will not believe what you see. Big thumbs up for this one 👍👍🇳🇱
Hi 👋 Kate! Look at the positive thing: if Mike is going to complain about that “not so inviting” ice cream ethereal consequences, it means he didn’t get covid🤣. Another reason to visit Italy 🇮🇹, especially my beautiful Bologna, is that we have (not all, but) some state of art ice cream artisans. Anyway, I really like that bike, in its esthetics, but some more ponies would not have hurt. I would like to have a test ride. I’m pretty sure it would be fun. About riding in cold weather: I really don’t envy it. I mean I miss so much riding my bike, but if fatigue exceeds pleasure…I prefer waiting for spring. Yesterday I saw a colleague (he actually recognized me because I was into my car) and he looked like a playmobil puppet or a frozen cod riding a R1. Have a super nice week.
Kate, have question ,I have a kink In my chain ,I've riden me bike few times , hv heard the clunk going round the sprocket, should I stop riding it 🤔, and change the chain . Amazing video .
Navigation doesn't understand twisty s , put you into city traffic curves instead. About six plus inches of snow here since Saturday and currently 2.7 C outside. Procrastinating till Monday to shovel the snow. Or gas up the snow blower ... hmmmm. I really enjoy my KLE650 Versys. Glad you had a good time Kate, take care as always.
Thanks Kate. Unfortunately, unlike your good self. I can’t say this is a bike that stirs emotions. No doubt riding it might change some of my perceptions but for now I’m good with the bike you sold me at Williams. Keep up the good work.
I know it is ancient, 1987, BUT my triple BMW K75s has tons of low down torque and a lovely zing above 6K, triples are brilliant but it IS ancient history, like me :) Totally agree with nodding to L plates, encourage the young us :) Good hazard perception at 11:55
I've got a Honda xl250r OFB249Y turning 40 this month so no tax or mot to worry about. It even has a monoshock (prolink) still seems modern to me. 1987 still sounds quite new. At 17 I got a cb125rs in red (1983) paid £300 I still have it at dad's house.
What to say, beautiful bike!!! All rounder, triple engine, felt in love!!! The question is it is beginner friendly as first bike? I am 1,82cm high with 100kg weight (little beast) and looking for my first bike after riding maxi scooters..Thanx for your nice review and cheers from Serbia 🇷🇸✌️
I can't tell you how upset it made me that you rode all that way to enjoy a nice ice cream and they sold you ice cream that had gone off. The nerve. Great review of the bike. I'm seriously considering one as the dealer near me has like 5 and most bikes are impossible to get. I heard that the wind buffeting was an issue for taller riders though so I will test that out. Great review.
Nice video and good comment. Just everyday use. Not driving like a maniac. Looks like a lot of fun. Plzs keep making these nice videos. Maybe a comparison between this one and the tracer 7.
Good looking bike should of been a 900 and 3 inches longer in the seat for pillion comfort and cruise control and I would buy one. I loved my 1050 st sprint there's been nothing in the triumph rang as good since.
Looks like a pretty competent bike Kate and at 80bhp more than enough to propel anyone at a speed they should be able to handle in they can deal with acceleration. The fact that it doesn't vibrate too much through the pegs or bars is a bonus. You must have been saving the "dead centre of town" up for this trip! Too bad about your ice-cream. You just need to wait until summer when the ingredients might be palatable! Triumphs do tend to be the business.
Honestly, I just have horror images in my mind of the oce cream machine not being cleaned out over the winter 🤮😩 haha that joke was stolen from usernamedad lol
Please please please...love you channel❤ Would love a bike walk around before the ride tho... Am a pain...but want to see what your on first... Watched a fair few vids..and am always googling what the bike is.. Luv u ..❤
Quality from Triumph lass Looks good and very well priced , couple of things you pointed out where i think Triumph are being a bit tight on (centre stand & heated grips). Bar end mirrors hell no lass :}} Be interested in what it is like on a good long haul . Another good video thanks Kate.
You don't need a high powered bike for Pikes Peak. There is no passing and a speed limit. Noraly of UA-cam's Itchy Boots channel did it this last summer on a Honda CBF300L.
Question for Kate and her viewers: Need bike advise. I am down to Tiger 660 sport, vs. NC750 DCT, vs. Versys 650 LT. It is important that the bike be comfortable on a loooong tour. Any recommendations? NC is not at all comfortable for a 700 mile day, but the DCT is attractive in West Texas. My Goldwing is super comfortable, and has cruise control, and heated grips, but is just too big and heavy for daily city commuting. The reverse gear not withstanding. I had a Bonneville, super for commuting, but killed my legs at the end of a 10 hour riding day.
I did watch your other vid on this bike, which I liked and I also like this first ride impression. Good job. Hey, at the 0:55 second mark was that your Michael Jackson impersonation? :)
Hi Kate, another interesting video from you.I would be keen to hear your thoughts on the new Kawasaki Z650RS if you could get hold of one.Looking forward to the next video. Thanks again.
I so like the look of this bike but would love to see a 900 version of this. I have a 1050 tiger and love the looks but not so keen on the Tiger 900 and 850 styling. (PS Southport Carousel, you need to go on a Sunday)
@@UsernameKate already is that 850 sport has really thrown me. Never known a bike to add the word sport and have 15hp less and at the same time called an 850 when it's the same engine as the 900 tiger
Hi Kate. This bikes is on my short list. I did pick up on your comments about the BMW f900xr. So which in your view is the better bike ?. What I really need is a review two up. Because I like to tour. Worried about the lack of power with the wife on the back . At the moment I have the BMW1200rs but its heavy so looking for something lighter.
Hmm I cant review to up due to manufacturers insurance. Its a tricky one, to be honest, I'd probably flip a coin? 😅 sorry, I appreciate that doesn't help you! You need to go and sit on both and see what your heart says 😊
Hi Kate, may I ask what your leg length is and how you find the strand over height? I am 5'7" with a 29" leg so If I want to get feet on the floor most adventure style bikes are out for me. You mention on the video that you are 5'4" with a short torso so it will be interesting to find out how you found the dimensions.
Sounds like a good bike. Interesting to see the panniers, top box and stuff. And perhaps how it handles on a gravel road , don't have to be extreem like you did on the 125cc but we can't always be on asphalt, can we :)
I really like your chit-chating about motorcycles. You have a lovely accent :D (what is it?) Anyway, Im curious how this nice triple is going to run on longer trips - do you plan such tests?
That roadkill meat looked so fresh..good review. I need an upgrade, I like long journeys with purpose and my Honda fmx650 as much as i love her is not fit anything over 100mile round trip really I have done a 600mile round trip last year rattled the hell out of me arms arse feet and bladder control for 24hrs😁
Eee you made me laugh, bike looks good, sat nav whats one of them ? Front wheel n sense of direction thats all ya need( most of time 😆 ),wish manufacturers would put things like heated grips/centre stand etc... as standard but suppose they make more money as optional extras 🤨, great vlog tho 👍 stay safe ♥️👍
Hi Kate it’s a nice bike but not my seen as I prefer the Adventure still especially the Rally Explorer as I’m buying one 😂 But your spot on with what you said about the new Highway Code it’s going to cause more bumps and even more claims but doesn’t help when most people don’t even know it’s changed. Try driving a Big Truck in town it’s crap 💩 😂
Just found this channel I've had mine for 6 weeks now my only complaint is the heated grips are not that warm but its a lot colder here in New zealand. And the new highway code is stupid
I am really liking this motorcycle. I cant wait till i get one for me. By the way i think Triumph did a really good job as this bike will be the perfect addition to the middleweight range. But i am kind of sad for the pricing of the red color. 200 Euros extra (in Greece) just for some not really interesting graphics? It is a steal. I think i will go for blue. What do you think?
Yea, seems to be something all the manufacturers are doing 🤔 I get what you mean! I quite like all the colours, I think blue looks smart with the colour coded panniers and bellypan!
I recommended your channel to my sons girlfriend. She's 21 and her interest in bikes is burning! Especially after she met my son, on his Duke 690, of course. (He just had to buy one after he tried mine, in white and black) So now she has all the gear, waiting for the boots. And then, when finance allows, license. I think your channel, with your approach, is a good well for further knowledge. Thank you KatieM! (sorry!)
How’s the gearbox? I’ve found on a few triumphs speed triple, tiger’s and trophy’s the ‘box can get a bit stroppy when the engine is warm. Not bad, just needs a little encouragement for a positive selection. Cracking revue though, thanks. 👍👍
In 2014 for £7k you could choose between a versey's 650 or an MT-09 nearly £8.5k seems like a fair bit of cash and the prices just keep going up every year. An MT-07 is now £7k used to get the MT-09 for that.
A lot of torque (see what I did there) about it having only 80 bhp, but it's the lovely flat torque curve that's important for that sprightly feel. For example an r6 engine has many more horses but feels flat under 10k. Nice review 😊
“Dead centre” almost choked on my crunchie nuts, good to see the bike being used in a real life review, excellent review.
I love my tiger it exceeds expectations in every way I’ve done one thousand miles so far and enjoyed every mile love it tttt
Yes Michael, that's what we love to hear! 😁

Cheers.
@@garyburton6833 Thanks for your prompt response Gary, you now have something to look forward too🎁
It s a nice bike for normal daylong use not spectacular. There s one specific upside riding the first time in spring: no bugs. O and when you want to experience annoying behave of pedestrians en people on bikes, come to the Netherlands you will not believe what you see. Big thumbs up for this one 👍👍🇳🇱
Haha thanks! 😊
Looks like this Tiger Sport is going to replace my 2012 Triumph America... Great first ride video!
Thanks Gary!!! I appreciate that!
Oooh Kate, swing it in indeed girl, chance would be a fine thing 😜👍🏻
Kate, have question ,I have a kink In my chain ,I've riden me bike few times , hv heard the clunk going round the sprocket, should I stop riding it 🤔, and change the chain . Amazing video .
I'm no mechanic but that doesn't sound good at all. I'd get it checked if I were you 😊
Navigation doesn't understand twisty s , put you into city traffic curves instead.
Glad you're still enjoying it! 😊👍
Nice video. This could be my next bike. Ride on 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Defo book a test ride for yourself! 💪
Great review of triumph tiger bike love your reviews 👍👏
I know it is ancient, 1987, BUT my triple BMW K75s has tons of low down torque and a lovely zing above 6K, triples are brilliant but it IS ancient history, like me :) Totally agree with nodding to L plates, encourage the young us :) Good hazard perception at 11:55
The k75 was great for low centre of gravity and the correct way for a shaft drive. Shame they got phased out in favour of the boxer engines
I've no experience of K75s unfortunately 😔
I've got a Honda xl250r OFB249Y turning 40 this month so no tax or mot to worry about. It even has a monoshock (prolink) still seems modern to me. 1987 still sounds quite new. At 17 I got a cb125rs in red (1983) paid £300 I still have it at dad's house.
@@chrishart8548 Great fun and most of all CHEAP :)))
Rudolf ranter > luvin it
Haha Rudolph Ralph... bloody nightmare 🤣
Hey Copehead! I was annoyed too! Nightmare 🤣 yes definitely test it for yourself. I'm short so I didn't experience this 😁
Nice video and good comment.
How would you rate it against Tracer7?
Please please please...love you channel❤
Would love a bike walk around before the ride tho...
Am a pain...but want to see what your on first...
Watched a fair few vids..and am always googling what the bike is..
Luv u ..❤
Quality from Triumph lass
Looks good and very well priced , couple of things you pointed out where i
think Triumph are being a bit tight on (centre stand & heated grips).
Bar end mirrors hell no lass :}}
Be interested in what it is like on a good long haul .
Another good video thanks Kate.
Hey Doc! Thanks for the kind words! Went to the Lake District today and had some fun. Cracking bike!
Thanks Kate for another great review. Can’t wait to ride mine up Pikes Peak once all the accessories are in and added to my 660. Cheers. Ted.
Wow that sounds like a dream ! What accessories have you gone for Ted?
You don't need a high powered bike for Pikes Peak. There is no passing and a speed limit. Noraly of UA-cam's Itchy Boots channel did it this last summer on a Honda CBF300L.
Great review thanks !
cracking review good job done boss lady
Great review, very informative.
Cheers Alex! 🍻
I really like the Tiger Sport 660, it is well proportioned for a road based adventure bike 🙂
Quite a nice thing!
I did watch your other vid on this bike, which I liked and I also like this first ride impression. Good job.
Hey, at the 0:55 second mark was that your Michael Jackson impersonation? :)
Haha yes! Wasn't my best was it 🤣
@@UsernameKate No further comment from me. :)
Hi Kate, another interesting video from you.I would be keen to hear your thoughts on the new Kawasaki Z650RS if you could get hold of one.Looking forward to the next video. Thanks again.
I'd love to Trevor! See if I can get hold of one! Thanks for the kind words!
Hi Kate...happy Sunday!
Hey Jay! Happy Sunday back atcha! 😊
@@UsernameKate Hi to Mike too.
Great vid Kate. :-)
Thanks Leif!!
I so like the look of this bike but would love to see a 900 version of this. I have a 1050 tiger and love the looks but not so keen on the Tiger 900 and 850 styling. (PS Southport Carousel, you need to go on a Sunday)
I have the same issue, have a 2008 1050 Tiger and would love to see a 900 in this more sporty style instead on the ADV style.
Do we need a 660 tiger ? With 21/18 wheels next ? And do we need a 900 sport with 17" wheels
This is gonna get confusing haha 🤭
Hey Ken! This vid may help you! As i sit on the bike. 5ft 4, 29 inch inside leg 🦵 ua-cam.com/video/isNbvtm4GnE/v-deo.html
@@UsernameKate Hi Kate, many thanks that help a lot.
Sounds like a good bike. Interesting to see the panniers, top box and stuff. And perhaps how it handles on a gravel road , don't have to be extreem like you did on the 125cc but we can't always be on asphalt, can we :)
I really like your chit-chating about motorcycles. You have a lovely accent :D (what is it?)
Anyway, Im curious how this nice triple is going to run on longer trips - do you plan such tests?
Hey! Thanks for the lovely words! I think it's like an Atherton accent or Lancashire sounding. I think hahah
Oh god, my bladder control isn't the best either 🤣🤣🤣
Eee you made me laugh, bike looks good, sat nav whats one of them ? Front wheel n sense of direction thats all ya need( most of time 😆 ),wish manufacturers would put things like heated grips/centre stand etc... as standard but suppose they make more money as optional extras 🤨, great vlog tho 👍 stay safe ♥️👍
Sense of direction? What is this you speak of? 😅

Nice video 📹...seems like a great bike. Will you venture off road on it...? And is that a technical term ..' rear ended up the chuff' .....! 🤣🤣😊
Haha I probably won't have time to venture off road which is a shame!
It's just a tall sports bike really. I think adventure bikes should always have 50/50 tyres.
Just found this channel I've had mine for 6 weeks now my only complaint is the heated grips are not that warm but its a lot colder here in New zealand. And the new highway code is stupid
Yes! I 100% agree. Heated grips let it down as like you say luke warm at best! I'd have to put some after market ones on or get heated gloves.
Μπλε φουλ, και όχι μόνο λόγω τιμής. Αν και από κοντά μου άρεσε και το κόκκινο περισσότερο από όσο περίμενα, το μπλε πιστεύω ότι είναι πολύ πιο όμορφο
Yea, seems to be something all the manufacturers are doing 🤔 I get what you mean! I quite like all the colours, I think blue looks smart with the colour coded panniers and bellypan!
@@ΦτΠαπ Κι εγω για μπλε παω. Εχω και μια λατρεια στο χρωμα
I recommended your channel to my sons girlfriend. She's 21 and her interest in bikes is burning! Especially after she met my son, on his Duke 690, of course. (He just had to buy one after he tried mine, in white and black)
So now she has all the gear, waiting for the boots.
Hey HeadRace! Had no issues with it so far! And thanks again 😊
@@UsernameKate cool! Thanks Kate for your response. Always appreciated. Maybe get Mike on the back for a pillion perspective? 😀👍
Good review.
Agree with comments re. Highway Code - after all, no one likes getting rammed up the arse !
Shame about the ice-cream.
Thanks String! Ice cream dampened my say haha
This is à decent review!
In 2014 for £7k you could choose between a versey's 650 or an MT-09 nearly £8.5k seems like a fair bit of cash and the prices just keep going up every year. An MT-07 is now £7k used to get the MT-09 for that.
Wild isn't it how everything keeps going up but our damn wages 🤣
@@UsernameKate my rent in a 3 bed has gone from £650 to £1115 a month. I'm sure my wages haven't gone up as much!
Welcome to the new normal.
A lot of torque (see what I did there) about it having only 80 bhp, but it's the lovely flat torque curve that's important for that sprightly feel. For example an r6 engine has many more horses but feels flat under 10k. Nice review 😊
Thanks Graham!!!
No worries love to all
Awesome video! Very entertaining as usual. Poor Mike! I dated a vegan once, never again! 😷 Best!
Oh wow! 🤣 I used to cook cauliflower rice in the microwave at work and everyone used to complain that it smelled like vegan farts 😅
I have a question. I bought a GS last week. Is the engine on the GS louder than most? Mine seems loud especially first :45 minutes. Best!
