70 years of age , been riding bikes for 50 , pick up my tiger 660 sport tomorrow, live on the Isle of Wight , had to big bikes 1000 cc , to big never out third . Great B roads on island, the tiger is just the bike . If I go abroad to mainland, got the panniers which will take my Schubert C3 pro . Come on tomorrow 😊😊👍👍
hi pal' its great to hear you will be ripping across the Isle on you tiger sport. cheers for getting in touch... ride safe , with a bit of luck the IOW tt might become a reality... cheers R
I went to Motorcycle Live at the NEC primarily to see this bike and I liked what I saw very much. I am currently waiting to hear from my local Triumph dealer as I am on the list for a demo ride... but, erm Eunice has interrupted play time of late. A really nice, comprehensive review, now I REALLY want to ride the Tiger 660.
Hi Neil, I really enjoyed my two days with the Tiger Sport, its a great around bike, judging by the blurb from Triumph it should be great to live with, long service schedule and proven reliability to boot. I hope you get-together take one out for a test soon, cheers R
I was actually lucky enough to get a ride on one at motorcycle live in Nov 22 and bought one a month later, added a load of extras to it and decided a couple of months later to change the front 16t sprocket to a 17t to solve the short 1st to 2nd problem. Now just fine.
@@jody6233 I waited only a month but I know each dealer is allocated only so many. I have the graphite grey and black model and it looks great. I ordered lots of accessories, which were fitted at no extra cost. I have already done 1000 miles, including the first service at 600 miles. Webbs Lincoln have been absolutely excellent and I would honestly rate them against any other car or motorcycle dealer I have ever done business with! You can’t go wrong with this bike - all the hype is totally justified.
@@macmackay8579 awesome thank you for replying. Yes was going to go for grey myself and get some extras fitted. I'll be placing my order very soon soon!
Enjoyed this video, thanks. Test riding one of these next week. Hoping it's less strain on my aging hips than my Street Triple 765R. Very informative and I love the way you describe stuff. Cheers Scott
Hi Scott,I also had 2018 street triple r and sold it due to a hip problem and bought a Tiger 660 and honestly it’s made such a difference,it’s so much more comfortable and it doesn’t antagonise my hip issues which could of been felt days after riding… good luck and hopefully you will find it the same 👍
@@stuarthatfield Thanks for taking the time to reply Stuart, much appreciated! I test rode one last week at Lings Triumph Dunmow. Being an MCN 5 star bike and seeing all the other reviews, I was expecting it to be good. But it surpassed my expectations, it's just a much better bike for me, a lot more comfortable. Picking mine up 2nd week July. Thanks again, happy riding!
@@scottbailey5644 no problem mate just thought I’d share my experience and hopefully it helped you decide,it will definitely help with your hip and you will probably ride it more often and get a few more enjoyable miles in per year🤞..stay safe and enjoy.
With a bit of care on the clutch you can easily set off in second on this bike, which I do. First is very short, as you say, and second, although you might not get away as fast, you can pull away for longer in.
Thanks pal, this is a cracking bike. Try the trident too, it’s similar but so different, don’t forget to subscribe and like if you fancy it... as for the coaching chat, it’s what I’ve done for the last 20 years, I can’t break the happen.
I had a look at one of these at Laguna in Ashford today. Going to take it for a test ride. Should be much more comfortable than my Street Triple although I'm thinking I may miss the extra power.
Hi mate, it will be comfy the upright seating position is good and the fairing is a real bonus, on paper it's not got Street triple power, the top end is certainly softer but she's still quick if you spin it.... let me know how you get on... I'd be interested in you opinion as a ST rider.
Cheers pal, I’ve been awol during covid, I can’t bring myself to do a video review unless I’ve ridden the bike, so now we are out and about I’m going to crack on and get back to it. Welcome aboard!.
Hi mate, I know what you mean I’ve now covered 8000 miles on the xR and it’s a rocket but thirsty when the TPS re open. If I’m honest I don’t care about the economy, if I wanted Mpg I would have bought something else. Performance if not cheap... If anything I might drop a front tooth to get better pickup without having its ECU flashed... I will do a video about my bike soon, maybe a 10k in six months thing... cheer for looking... ride safe
In a word, this bike is 'engaging'. You're not going to lie back and have it do the work for you, like some of the larger displacement sport tourers. You have to be in the present moment to drive it properly.
Bang on Mate, it’s the very fact this bike has enough power but not stupid power that makes it fun to ride, spin through the gearbox and it’s just great fun. Like the Trident sibling, great bike.
Thank you. Good info about the motor, handling, and tires and you touched on many other things. However, I ride for 4-6 hours and was wondering how the comfort of the seat, riding position and wind protection was? Thanks. I have a 2019 Honda CB500X that I really like but wanted to increase the power and some features.
Hi Sean, during my days ride I was on the bike from 0900 to about 1600 however I did stop for lunch so I was on the bike for about six hours... I had a very comfy day, no aches and pains at all, the bike has been set up very well for all day riding, pleasedone forget to subscribe if you haven’t already, cheers for the comments.
Oh and the wind protection was ok, the screen is not as big as some but I found it ok on the motorway, there was noise but no buffeting... I could easily sit on the Motorway at 70-80mph for several hours!
@@36moto very helpful. Thanks much. Along with this Tiger 660, I am considering the Indian Scout Rogue…which comes with better seat, some wind protection, better handle and more comfortable bars. compared to some other Scout offerings. It a cruiser with forward controls so not sure if I will like that. I find ADVs comfortable. I am 5’11”. Anyways, cheers my friend. Hope you have a great day.
Great video and looking to upgrade to my second bike and this might be a winner! Have a Harley Street 500 currently and been looking for something like this. How was the wind protection? Seems like it has more than enough power. Just subscribed from NY
Hi, you are absolutely right the Tiger sport has winning potential, great to have you along, hope NY is taking care of you, The Tiger Sport does have plenty if GO in it, and the weather protection is ok, there are bikes out there with more of everything but much of the stuff ( like 200 BHP) is superfluous. the Tiger sport is a great all rounder. it is all day comfortable, quick enough to be a hoot to ride and alot of motorcycle for the $ ride safe pal. R
Great video...I am eagerly waiting for this bike. But my biggest concern is the riding posture. It seems like in trident or tiger 660, the knee bend is more than other adv touring bikes. Does it affect long rides?
Hi Amlan, the two bikes have very different riding positions, the trident has a sportier pose with the footrests being higher and further back than the tiger. And the bars are narrower and give the rider a forward lean. The riding position on the tiger sport is more relaxed, with your feet being lower and further forward and together with the higher wider bars it is very much like the riding position you would expect on an adventure bike. As for longer rides, I took a 200 mile trip the day I had the mike and felt great. Leg room is much better on the sport for longer trips. Cheers Please subscribe and like , thanks. R

I'd be tempted to add a tooth or two to the front sprocket to make it more relaxing at motorway speeds. Will probably improve the fuel economy too.
