Dude, I recommend you to stop at this Terminator part- And start a TV-SHOW - The Chronicles of Sarah Connor. Its very, very good - from a plot side. (Yes effects sucks but...). Its continues after the 2nd movie. And after the TVshow watch "Terminator Salvation".
Rest movies - I dont care ))) they all sucks balls after salvation.

Fun fact: the movie didn't have enough budget for that chase scene where T-X was driving a crane truck, but Arnold wanted it to happen so much he paid the necessary costs from his own pocket

I love how the movie kept giving us hope that John could actually stop it. Only to leave him (and us) helpless and trapped as the bombs fell. The music, monolog and montage at the end is top notch. So poignant. He had no choice but to accept his destiny
The ending 5 minutes is the best part of the whole movie. (If not the only memorable part.)
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, but such a brave ending - just blew me away at the time. The last good Terminator movie IMO

don't forget he was the only one conscious from the psych ward ppl & saw the t-1000 literally phase thru metal bars, that's when he dropped the cap from his mouth.
the doc did not see the terminator in the first flick -- he was distracted by his beeper just as the terminator walked in the police station. doc walked out without ever looking at him. (no doubt he saw news footage of the attack afterwards.)

It was good, but I suspect it is resented because it bought back the hopeful ending of the prior one, which seems to negate everything that had us so invested, at the time.
You know, that point in the franchise when all investment in the story goes out the window, and we all just agree we don't REALLY care about the outcome, we just want to see terminators duking it out.
Yeah, T3 isn't upto Terminator 1 and 2's standards but still, it's a LOT better than the shite Dark Fate we got.

Genisys, in my opinion, is the 💩👎 film in the franchise.
It's not bad as a movie, especially as an action movie, but it's not epic as T1 and T2.
The story and characters need more depth.

Nah, sorry, it's bad. It only seems like it's overblown because the next two films are painful to watch as a Terminator fan.
I remember not having big expectation when going to the theater to watch this. Boy was I pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out. And the ending is just WOW!!! Jaw dropping!
This movie is rad as hell. The story is chilling, the action is really impactful, the characters are interesting, and plot feels both natural and surprising. It's doesn't feel like a James Cameron movie, but it somehow still feels like a Terminator movie to me.

You took the words out of my mouth, I like Terminator Salvation but it doesn't have that classic Terminator feel T3 has and Nick Stahl is the best John Connor in my opinion. Nick's John is that version that has the old characters Edward Furlong has with not wanting the responsibility and then he shows that natural ability to be a fighter and a leader by the end of T3.
It’s fucking awful. Hated the female TX that red suit was awful, the wardrobe in general was horrible. Arnie looked like a gay version of T2 weak hair style and glasses / jacket. Bad casting for brewster and Connor. The talk to the hand I’ll never forgive Arnie for. The ending is decent enough though. I loved the future war scene too as short as it was it’s probably the best.
This movie has definitely grown on me as I’ve gotten older. The female terminator, while not as iconic as the T-1000, was nuts. One thing that I’ve always enjoyed was the ending because it solidified that Judgement day truly couldn’t be stopped. Seeing John initially panic over that realization and then slowly start to embrace was great. The next movie, Salvation, is so great and truly unique to the franchise. Can’t wait to see your reaction.
Kristanna Loken is such an amazing actor too (and so s'xy, hehe), so really did play the terminator as well as Arnold, same "robotic" behavior/acting as arnold does, she really should get more praise, she really did act as a terminator really well

This breaks the narrative of the second movie "No fate but what we make". And honestly, if terminator came earlier, they would have stop Judgement day.
I agree it was the ending that made me respect it. Despite the first two films plot I think it's more believable that AI no matter who brings it to being will happen. And in my opinion trying to stop it only delays the problem.

every single event in terminator has been "pre-determined" (berserk's "causality" and matrix's "inevitability"), there is no "making your own fate" within terminator movies and its time-traveling

Actually when the Cyberdyne Systems was exploded in the Terminator 2 some of the key documents and files survived and those documents and files was sent to Catherine Brewster dad in the Military Sience department. And that's how the Judgement day was only postponed.
Arnold's model of robots is called T-800 (in this movie T-850). 101 is the code of human skin - models which look like Arnold outside have this number.
You're half right. The human skin does denote the model number, however the different kinds of terminators are called "series", not model. Series number describes the kind of terminator. The series 800-850, model 101 for Arnold

Fun fact: In the first 2 movies Arnold was a T-800 but in this movie he was a T-850 which is tougher and has a better power source than the T-800.
Yup! A lot of people don't realize that T800/850 is the series of Terminator. Model 101 refers to the skin. 101 is the Arnold looking model.
Honestly this movie does have a lot of flaws and it isn’t that good but it is one of my guilty pleasures
And it really completes the story IMO. It gets so much undeserved hate for really little things that overshadow that epic ending.

Yeah, I really liked this one despite all its flaws. I thought the new terminator design was really cool. Remote controlling the cars made absolutely no sense with the cars used and was hilarious. The most that could have been controlled was the throttle but I just look past it by imagining that they're all Teslas. Lmfao.

I didn't like Salvation as it did absolutely nothing to either put closure on the franchise or push it forward. They had a chance to finally show the humans win and they blew it. Now it's all gone down hill.
@@The_RedVIII for me, T1 is a bit too dated, it's good especially for its b-movie budget, but still somewhat cliche (maybe at the time it was new stuff, but not "looking back": not-seeing it out in/at the theatre when it came out, just nothing really too special in it), T2 was the huge blockbuster, and it greatly improved, especially with the whole humanity stuff between terminator (arnold) and kiddie (err, teen, as when you get older, everyone younger than you, is a kid, lol) john conner, had a much better story/relationships/humanity, with "father" (terminator/arnold), mother (sarah conner), and child (kiddie/teen john conner), lol, and the liquid metal villain terminator, was way better improvement than just a walking metal skeleton, despite how scary it might look with its red glowing eye and shiny metal skull, lol
@@AdamtheGrey02 Salvation certainly was just a small part of the terminator saga in terms of its main story/plot: merely helping adult ("leader of humanity's last stand" john conner (and his father, a young kyle reese, lol, time travel, so much fun, especially when it involves ahem reproduction ahem, laughs) stay alive in the apocalyptic future against the terminator/machine/skynet rule/annihilation, but, it had the HEART (hehe, what a pun, grins) of the terminator saga, which is why it was so good, redemption, such a human quality, both on the micro scale with the MC, but also in terms of the macro/deeper concept of humanity (we humans screwed up, it's all humanity's fault, we created the machines, we created the doomsday weapons, we programmed skynet to self-learn, etc etc etc), yet despite all that, we can still change, and right our wrongs, redemption, we have the power to do great evil, and the power to do great good, that is what makes us human, it's in our hearts, in whether we choose to do wrong or right
It's nice to see people appreciate the 3rd movie tbh, I genuinely enjoy this movie a lot.

I wish T2: Battle Across Time was still an open attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. THAT is my favorite attraction of all-time. It serves as a sequel to Terminator 2 and the attraction itself is also directed by James Cameron and was the most expensive 3D film ever made until Cameron's own Avatar surpassed it. Even though the attraction is no longer in Hollywood, I think it still might be active at another Universal Studios elsewhere.
I actually really love this movie. I still remember when my dad took me to see this when I was little.
This has always been my favorite Terminator movie in the series.

3rd movie isn't that bad. The action scenes, the practical effects that are there, Arnold and the twist ending make this a decent entry. The downsides are Sarah being killed off-screen like a nobody and the T-X not being that threatening or cool like the T-1000. Otherwise, decent sequel. Better than most sequels that are actually bad. Terminator Salvation on the otherhand is...another mixed bag. It honestly doesn't get real bad until Gensys and Dark Fate.

@@adityabiswas7684 i liked genisys more than dark fate. the actors for kyle and sarah were terrible, and not at all believable the way they were in the original, but it was fun and interesting how they started it exactly like t1 with everything changed. it actually could have been pretty good if they had better, more believable actors for the 2 main characters. dark fate was completely forgettable for me, i saw it once not long ago and i can't remember at all what happened. i vaguely remember them stealing her truck early in the movie and that's about it.

- Better humor in the dialogue.
- Great misdirection making us think he was about to say "come with me if you want to live." Didn't happen.
- Terrific chase scenes.
- Surprising reveal that skynet was part of the internet and had no core.
- Paradigm shift from stopping Skynet to surviving it.
- Great set design of shelter.
- Chilling shots of nuclear annihilation at the end.
better humor? The bad comedy is part of the reason fans hate this film. How is Arnold putting on pink sunglasses and saying "talk to the hand" better humor. This is the most unoriginal of all the Terminator films. They basically made a bad parody of T2.

I remember seeing this movie first night of release. When it was over? Everyone walked out? In complete bummer mode, like someone died. To me? That is the mark of a great movie.

just because YOU don't like the turn it has doesn't mean it's a parody, although flawed, the story comes full circle, with T4 it tried to push the story onwards and got hated on and that's what made the abominations that are 5 and 6
This, for me, is the best of the sequels, post 2. There's no denying that the ending is pretty powerful.
I'd argue Sarah Connor Chronicles it the best "t3" but at least this one got a proper ending compared to the show. I enjoy this movie even with it's flaws

I've never understood the hate, I think this movie is a lot of fun. I love seeing the start of the machine uprising and Skynet using the Internet was perfect. That ending is fantastic.
I like the ending as well, but I don't understand how someone can say "they don't understand the hate". I absolutely respect if you enjoy the film. But you don't see why people would have a problem with all the bad comedy like Arnold putting on the pink sunglasses and saying "talk to the hand", or the lead villain having inflatable tits lol. I mean the film is basically a parody of T2. They take the exact same plot outline and infuse with bad comedy, while undoing everything Cameron told us in T2. Not to mention they don't even use the Terminator theme until the end credits!
As I said, it's awesome if you enjoy this film! But I don't get how anyone could not see the other side of the argument.
Terminator Salvation is next, despite what people may say, I like Salvation a lot, it shows the future and the war.

The story was really good. But the way they executed it wasn't good. It just didn't have the intensity and the dread of the first two films. Had Cameron directed it prehaps it would have been better. I don't know how they can revive this franchise. For me it ended at Terminator 2 when they stopped judgement day.

The series have different timeline after Terminator 4. Following are the multiple timelines:
Timeline 1: Terminator 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Timeline 2: Terminator 1, 2 and 5.
Timeline 3: Terminator 1, 2 and 6
Bro, that chase scene especially the part where the crane was smashing Arnold through the buildings was due in part because Schwarzenegger threw a million of his own money into it.

I once visited the studio that did the special effects for this movie, they had the bullet riddled coffin on display.
Keep in mind when you go to watch “Dark fate”, it ignores this one and the next 2 (genesis & salvation), and takes place as a sequel to terminator 2

This movie flaws and all has an all time great ending. It's absolutely perfect.
Even though Edward Furlong did an excellent job in T2. Nick Stahl looks so much like Reese and Sarah Connor. He even has the same mannerisms as Reese
This review was awesome! To add: I read Arnold actually paid over a million dollars from his salary for that car chase scene to be filmed correctly because it initially went over budget. 😎

I love this movie! I've loved it since I saw it in theaters. That ending!!! At the time of release, there really wasn't any big, expensive films that had endings where the heroes failed. It was a big and very powerful move to do so. Based on a number of comments you made throughout this video, I think you'll love Terminator Salvation!

You saw when TX activated the robot covered in plastic? That's T1, the first terminator! The latest terminator activated its ancestor.
The T-1 series (bots on tracks with the miniguns), were actually built for real with obviously limited AI, but they moved around on their own.
Its not a bad film by any means. Alot of really strong positives. Ive always liked it

It was the first Terminator movie I was old enough to watch in the cinema since I was born in 1984, and boy I loved T3 that much I seen it 7 times in the cinema. Btw get stuck into the Sarah Connor Chronicles series which takes place 2 years after the 2nd movie....you have to watch the spin off.
if it was just the first 2 movies that would have been absolutely perfect, if they stopped after this then this would have been an overall really solid and respectable trilogy, even though this movie is below the previous two, however, the greed is insatiable and so we got all that abysmal trash that came after this movie xD
I know that T2 raised bar so high. But this movie has so many good things in it that cover previous plot holes.

He doesn't understand the Miles, the scientist from T2, has nothing to do with the evolution of the now-future SkyNet - those inventions were destroyed utterly - but that doesn't stop the development of AI around the world, does it? No. "Judgement Day is inevitable."
The actor playing John in this one was also in the fantastic HBO series Carnivale.

You'll notice that there are a lot of continuity errors in this movie that contradict the timeline of the first two movies. Like in the beginning John says that he was 13 years old during T2, but in that movie a police computer says he was 10 years old, also in this movie John keeps saying that they took down skynet "over 10 years ago" but this movie is set in July 2004 and T2 is set in 1995 so really it's been 9 years. Also Sarah's tombstone says she was born in 1959 which would have made her 36 years old in T2 but in that movie she was said to be 29.
The T3 writers never saw the other films.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen is Arnold posing as his Terminator wax figure at Madame Tussaud's in his full Terminator makeup and scaring the shit out of fans when he 'comes to life'

I'm going to say this right now before watching the reaction: I really like this movie. I know most people hate it. And I acknowledge it's a step down from the first two, that it doesn't have the same dark poetic tone as them, and it's disappointing not having Linda Hamilton back.
But if you go in accepting all of that, it's a LOT of fun. I've watched it many times, and it's just plain fun. And yes, as others have said, the ending is actually pretty ballsy.
I like how this film comes full circle storywise, in comparison to the first two films. In way this film is how the Terminators & Skynet all started (you can look at T3 as the beginning of it all)...😎✌️
I was pretty young when I first saw this, and it was my intro to the series. It's always gonna hold a good place in my heart, but I will always hold T2 above them all. Love the series as a whole though, regardless of some of the misses I personally felt they had
I loved this movie, I think it had a very good ending
One thing I always wondered about all of it though was "why did they send terminators 3 times?"..
I mean, if they can travel in time and truly wanted Sarah or John Connor dead earlier, they could´ve sent one terminator every second for an hour or something, I mean it doesn´t really matter when they are created and sent as long as they arrive with 1 second difference, imagine the action scenes with 3600 terminators :)
The problem is though that many see time as linear, but time is way more interesting than that, it even bends by movement and gravitation and we haven´t even started exploring the very basics of it yet

That movie is nothing revolutionary whatsoever, but more than a decent homage to the franchise - and it goes with a bang. Underrated!
When Kate said they could just let it go, she meant they stop trying to survive and let the bombs kill them along with everyone else. It was more explicit in the script.
Over the years this movie has begun getting respect from the fans and I see this film as the real end of John’s story. We don’t need to see him as the soldier he was in Salvation we just need to know he survives Judgment Day and he will one day save humanity. The ending solidified that prophecy.

In my opinion, Arnold's best role as an actor is the movie Aftermath (2017). As you mentioned you wanted to check him out in a more serious role.

Great reaction man, yeah dude they get even more insane as the series progresses but I won't spoil anything lol. I loved how the T-X was a combination of T-1000 and T-800 with the shapeshifting over the hard chassis exoskeleton similar to the T-800's making it insanely durable, but wasn't surviving a mini nuke in the mouth lol. I still love T3 over Dark Fate's version of "Terminator 3" but you'll get there. They continue 2 more movies under this timeline, then Dark Fate is Cameron's "timeline from T2" since he stopped after T2 as far as involvement. You'll see though, I won't say anything with the story but I love the franchise overall.
You know? Before "Genysis" and "Dark Fate", i liked the continuity that they had with t1, t2, t3: rise of the machines, and t4: salvation. I felt they where more "connected". I still have.
I know I’m months late but he did mention on his first terminator reaction that he had seen the latest terminator which would be dark fate.
The reason why the chase scene holds up to this day, is because 90% of it is practical effects, practical effects never age
Correction on the Terminators Arnold plays, Model 101 is the tissue profile, basically all Model 101 Terminators are Arnold and Model 102 would be someone else, however the actual type of Terminator he was in the first two films was the T800 which is the endoskeleton and in this film a T850, The type of Terminator he is (the endoskeleton) is how you classify them
It’s so weird to go back to this movie and see Carrie from Homeland in such a blockbuster role. This role definitely didn’t play up to Claire Danes’ strengths as an actress.

Skynet was an AI created by the military…now…say they used a mac computer…or the programmers used windows…would that mean bill gates or Steve jobs were considered responsible for skynet in that scenario
Also remember, terminators comments in the second film…the man MOST DIRECTLY responsible…

When the female terminator remotely activated the cars I thought was dumb but overall I really like this movie.
While it was before its time doing that. With cars like tesla coming out, it might be possible. T3 is not the only movie that's played with that possibly.
This movie retconned to make her family the important piece in the story. Originally, it was just Dyson instrumental in Skynet.

The shelter dialogue leading to the end monologue is why I like this terminator 3 above the others the actor John Connor has a gentle acting to his lines and I feel that.
