Rip Betty White 🕊
Such a pure beautiful soul 🤍
Bert got a kiss!! I’m jealous. 46 yrs later
Everyone on this show is so funny. I watched it when it was brand new. It was my fave after school!
Sally said to the man at the door I can’t let you in because………Drunk? Come on Jaye P, wake up. 🤨
Watching the fashions is almost as entertaining as watching the show.
Cheryl is GORGEOUS!!!!
Cheryl must be her late 70's or early 80's by now.
Jeff Nichols reign begins. One of the best contestants ever on the show.
Cheryl Christiansen = beautiful woman
lookin smart n sexy in her nice dress.
Cheryl ---- absolute 100% mega babe.
Haha yeah.
She is so pretty
Betty White has ALWAYS been cute!!
Her smile was golden
Yes, so adorable!
Celebrities are humans too. I love it when they feel for the contestants.
Bert did a great job bluffing on that slam dunk teddy bear question.
Hope you're being facetious
@@joeambrose3260 Can't remember, it was 9 months ago.
@@mikestevenson576You can see it at 9:15. He didn't bluff at all. Which is why I found your comment mystifying
@@joeambrose3260 Thanks, I was not facetious. From 8:45 to 9:00, he gives a very perplexed "oh boy" and makes it seem like he's racking his brain and then on edge about the answer. Everybody in the building knew it was teddy bear, but he was a game show master and instinctively knew to squeeze some shred of drama out of it.
@@mikestevenson576I'm not so sure, I think he was torn between Bear and Roosevelt, which caused the delay Lets agree to disagree. Back to MG and smores !
Ooh, Cheryl's rather IoveIy, too bad to see her go, but she leaves with some solid money.
Either I'm confused or Gene was because she blanked her wedding dress seems to indicate that by saying blanked it means past tense, not that the answer must end with ed.
It's not you, if he'd said blank then sold wouldn't make sense, matter of fact nothing would
Since the "question" was written in the past tense it would have been poor form to say that the woman "blank her wedding dress." It had to be *blanked.*
Gene got a bit too fixated on the *-ed.*
ROFL! Another fine after dinner episode maybe. ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! :0) ROFL! Love ya CHarles! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Betty! ;0) First time a contestant has kiss the person who helped them win the money.. ;0) I guess they turn off the lapel mic during the audience match/head to head since has the hand mic to keep from getting feedback... ;0) Sally? ;0) And so it begins with Brett asking Gene to repeat the question.. sigh.. ;0) The rule has changed now that Gene has to take the first response now.. ;0)
way to go , Bert !!!
Funny that Jeff & Cheryl are both wearing red lol
Absolutely love Brett's blouse 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Love Betty's dress, nice color and style close to my favorite, as near as I can tell. ❤
I bet Brett was moved because she kept calling dawson dickie lol Betty even grabs richard's hand and said take the gloves off lol...
He started out doing stand-up comedy as Dickie Dawson before changing the stage name to Richard Dawson. So I'm not sure why that should make a difference. He was known as Dickie.
@@Echognomics101He was known as Dickie a long time before this. At some point Gene even cautions even that he prefers to be called Richard when one female contestant was being overly familiar. My impression was Brett and Richard were work "friends" in the beginning. It wasn't long before they didn't have any chemistry at all.
The only problem I had with this game is that too often it's just unfair. You can get the most obvious answers from most obvious questions, but then the opponent can get a question with so many different possible answers that he/she will never stand a chance.
Teddy bear is always a good answer. :)
After this episode I can no longer see the color red....
They don’t consistently ding when the celebrities put the cards in the slot yet
Only for the Super Match.
Isn't she pretty 😍
Jeff better have grown a beard after this... LOL...
So nostalgic seeing Brett miss the obvious answer.
Holy crap! She looks exactly like Lilith!!!! Bebe Neuwirth(sp)
The amazing JP Morgan !
I have a crush on cheryl she is just so ✨✨✨✨
Jaye P Morgan very cool! Loved her sexiness on the gong show...
Out time is up and Jeff's suit burned out one of our lenses lol ;P
I like his outfit!
First contestant/celebrity kiss?
I believe so!
ahhh don't know, you mean a French kiss, then Yes think so.
Back in the days when the girls were fit trim and clean. not overweight covered in tattoos and unwashed. America has changed but not for the better.
She kissed Bert😘🥰
Things weren't up to speed audience-wise after only fourteen episodes.
Those sweet long legged gals were almost all wearing long dresses!
I *think* 1973 was the height of the maxi-length skirt fashion.
@@LynxSouth Much of the 70s was the height of long dresses and skirts.
Today they all dress like boys 🤣LOL what a shame, young woman had Lost their mystic and feminine looks.
Is it me or is the sound out-of-sync?
I usually play at 1.25x speed and it seems to improve the sound. No warbling effect.
Something about Cheryl reminds me of Karen Carpenter
Boy, girls in the seventies were cute. They weren't tattooed, crude and fat. I miss it.
The Meat what's wrong with tattoos, and what do you have against fat people?
@@TheOfficialIceman They are offensive to some people as well as some cultures around the world. Western Society has always deemed tattoos to be the indecorous expression of vagabonds, convicts and rough gangs, an image which has receded somewhat but remains. Large swaths of America and other western nations are over weight now and even those who are not look generally different from people in former decades; notably less defined jaw lines and broader waists; it is a very bad thing and people who are overweight bare some responsibility in feeding the food and drugs industry.
@wackywill123 I think that misses The Meat's point. It wasn't a comment on the shapes and sizes people come in, it was about the collective change across eras.
That's cuz people have no shame anymore lol
@@TheOfficialIceman If you have to ask the question, there's no talking to you.
I can't imagine someone actually buying a red suit.
had a red velour suit I bought in 1973 and had it almost five years-- wore it in Vegas on a trip and several other occasions - got a lot of compliments
Thank you for your service - when I reported at recruiting office at eighteen , they were not taking anyone - we were pulling out -I was working on a pipeline - ended up going to college - In hindsight I wish I would have enlisted - the " path not taken "
@@michaelnivens6267 Wow, which year and which branch of service? I'd never heard of the military closing enlistment.
@MAC I didn't like the 70's at the time but look nostalgically at the decade now.
In 1973 men wore red suits. Today, men wear red dresses. At least the do if they work for Joe Biden.
Pitiful questions
Really love Jaye P. Morgan on this Match Game... I wish she began as a regular celebrity panel ..! I love it when contestants early on chose the winning celebrity on super match... and the celebrities like Bert Convey is a wonderful winner !🙂First time for a hug celebration after winning !🙂
Sorry but she was perfect for the Gong Show. She was a bit boring here.
Anybody else think Cheryl looks alot like Bebe Neuwerth AKA Lilith from cheers and Frazier?
yes, but so much better looking, some resemblance to Julia Louis Dreyfus also??
Out of sync sound drives me crazy. The lips don't match the audio just right. And Brett's long drawn out laugh is going to make me insane!!!!!
Just imagine ze Germans shooting machine guns
JP Morgan !!!
Jeff is going to run till episode 19.
spoiler alert?
Gotta expect that in the comment section where people discuss the show.
Do any MG historians know if Brett requested a move to the upper tier to distance herself from Richard ?
I'm not a historian but assumption would be the chemistry between Charles and Brett was a winner. That left the 4th seat for the cute newcomers and the ditzy blondes, which freed up Richard to come in with his one liners.
Based upon Ira Skutch interviews, no she didn't. The placement of Brett, Charles and Richard were intentional to emphasize the comedic aspects of the show.
Jeff Nichols looks like Steve Allen.
To me he looks like Theodore Roosevelt
He does look a little like Steve Allen.
Convy died young
I just matched Cheryl with "sold" first thing that came to mind
What was the point of the question? Gene seems to think there is an ed answer??
Jaye P., you rascool, why did you gong the BLANK....
Hehehe is it rascule?
they have to take the first answer? My husband is home was what she showed first.
19:07 yes betty. why are things like that a problem for you in future episodes?
Jeff Nichols’ first game!!
Brett saw John's blank and it's not so hot.....
Brett's blank ain't so hot either! LoL!
red and pink . . . give a break
Whoa Jeff, you need a new wardrobe.
He was styling for the 1970s.

Cheryl was cute, and when she smiled she reminded me of maryann, Dawn Wells from Gilligan island. It's ok she left with 5 thousand dollars and a Kiss from Bert Convy.😉👌. But I'd said burned her wedding dress. Gene did say there was a ed on the end. 👌. ✌🖖🕯💜🦋🌠🌻🤗🙂👋👣. Neita. Love, respect and positivity always.
Their mouths aren't even in sync
That's already been mentioned multiple times, it's a 50 year old recording stuff happens.

Can't they ever get a chap as a contestant? UPDATE: What a relief!
Did they ever have 2 dudes as contestants at the same time? 🤔
@@jjryan1352 I know what the hell... were they discriminating against men? 80% of the contestants were females.
@@lcfflc3887 hehe going for the ratings no doubt.
@@jjryan1352 yeap exactly.
