I have to say, Jo Ann Pflug is quite a good player and a good panelist (she also seems like a sweet, gracious lady), and seat #4 is the perfect spot for her (seat 6 should be someone a little wackier, I love Betty White there). I watched Match Game when it was originally on (mostly 1976 and later though, and not super regularly because of school) and have no memory of ever seeing her, so she was just another miscellaneous 1970s celebrity who I had to Google when she I first saw her on a Match Game episode here. But she's definitely grown on me, and now she's one of my favorite semi-regulars. And I love that contestants frequently chose her instead of Richard for the celebrity match!
At the time Jo Ann was married to TV host Chuck Woolery. I've only just learned about her myself. Apparently I never saw these early episodes on Game Show Network "back in the day."

Richard was the only other person to give away money at 750 dollars in audience matches.. This also puts Jo Ann in the lead for the most money giving away so far this season.
The contestant was so pretty, but that hairdo was something else. *LOL* I am still tying to decide "real hair" or a "wig"? I am leaning toward both = I cannot tell! I almost hope it was a wig! "LOL"
She went on national television-she got her hair done beforehand. It's what we did back then. We also dressed up to fly somewhere but that sense of self respect seems to be long gone today.
On that one about watching girls, I was confused, as was Shelley, thinking that beautiful Patty would have tied the score. Then I realized that Shelley was not playing on that one, plus Dick didn't match.
Re: the question about "Phyllis and Adolph." Everyone's mind went straight to Hitler. The obvious reference was to Phyllis Newman and Adolph Green. No one caught that.
oh, she was a great actress but on talk shows or game shows; anywhere she had to think on her toes about the words coming out of her mouth~ the worst, she comes out sounding stupid and obnoxious, when it's probably nerves overriding her thought process, she never feels comfortable. I find Joey Bishop was also a terrible game player. Some performers should never do talk or game shows.
She goes out on a decent note this episode, having at least partially redeemed herself after her performance last time (#19), when it was painful to watch and listen to her (I even think most of the other celebrities were getting annoyed). I think it's safe to say that her talents simply don't lie in the field of game-show panelist.

The game is harder than it seems. Many of us have watched multiple shows and you pick up a certain rhythm with answers. Not everyone is a good cook contestant not everyone is a good celebrity.
I noticed on this show it is a surprise that mother Brett is not one of the celebrities. The show will be better and worth watching without her and her always getting into other celebrities business and also taking charge and being told by Gene to “ shut-up”

Early on, the show mainly appealed to younger people.
This was a fine team- then they had Brett and Charles as full time fixtures. No so good
