- Oh I just love a good old fashioned unboxing 🥹 I received another box of surprise plants from Kartel Daun and filmed this video in two parts -- the first part I unbox the plants and show you updates from the last box I received last year, and the second part I show you how the plants are looking after ~1 week acclimating in my plant room.

A strange but maybe useful tip for the blue pap hybrids that were struggling... I have some blue pap x self and DP X self that for the longest time despite receiving the same treatment as all my other anthurium just weren't sizing up, similar to yours... the DP x self bbs started to do sth after I treated them with pesticides (mind you there was absolutely no prior indication of pests on the leaves and the plants in my milsbo are all very packed together and only months later did they get anything from a separate plant) and the blue paps x self also grew better, but also got a bit of a boost after the plant stopped relying so much on the earlier seedling grown roots... so maybe treat them for flatmites or just pests in general and if that doesn't do it, I'm guessing it's just a matter of the plants developing a larger stem and getting a better footing first, despite their size already... bc I'm pretty confident Kartel Daun wouldn't send runts out and your conditions seem to be great 🤔😎💪
Because of you and Charmaine, you saved my rough looking anthurium babies from dying! Now they're growing like weeds! Only downside is I can't get tree fern fiber in my location, so I substituted it with fir bark fines, perlite and some fluval, and maaan are my babies flourishing!!

Algae build up can slow growth down due to roots covered with algae can't get all the water it needs or nutrients it needs.

I love this unboxing jut I still don’t get the anthurium craze. They either have bright big veining or they don’t. And they’re either green or black otherwise they all seem to look alike to me.
