I vote to name the sink Malcom in honor of his suggestion!
I was going to suggest that, too!
Love that!
Chef AJ taught me to just cut off the ends on a sweet potato and you don’t have to try and stab with a fork. So much easier.
My favorite vegan recipe book is Sweet Potato Soul. I would love to see yall test the book and share your opinions. I liked this video.
Name your sink Shhink because you’re always shhing Woolie when she’s using it!
Tip for your avocado-allergic viewers (like me): according to Laura Theodore (Jazzy Vegetarian), you can substitute mashed cooked beans for avocado. Fun review, enjoyed it!!
How about the name Splash for the sink?
Sink name - aguafaba - agua for water and faba cuz you love aquafaba!
Name your sink “The Screamin’ Demon” since your lovely family get a kick out of running it while you’re trying to talk to the camera.😂
The sink is called Gurgle
As someone battling stage 4 colon cancer who is supposed to eat high-fiber, I really appreciate this review. I'll definitely have to check out the cookbook. I make a similar loaded sweet potato, but instead of beans, I'll top it with my homemade chili, cabbage, salsa, guacamole, and a bit of corn. So good!
That's a great idea, Lisa. I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and glad we can be helpful. Let us know what else we can do to help!
@pbwithjeremy Thanks so much! It's been a long 5 1/2 years, but I'm still here and fighting. P.S. You're going to have everyone over here naming their sinks. 😆 My sink's first name is now officially Sink. His last name is Orswim. 😄
Thanks for reviewing the Fiber Fueled book and appreciated the input from all the family members. Our copy is well worn and you’ve tested and reviewed some recipes I hadn’t tried yet. Will definitely try the Eggy Avocado toast and Overnight Oats and get over my hesitation of the eggplant recipes. Our favorites from the book are the Lemon Lentil Salad, Tempeh Skillet, Roasted Cauliflower Soup, and Ginger Broccoli Salad. Great to see the family ‘all in’ on the plant based lifestyle too! 😊
The kids aren't fully plant-based, but largely eat as we do.
Just a thought, you could open and freeze your avocado’s in half right when you get them so that you can use them later. Maybe just for the ones you buy that needs to be used up quickly. 😊 Love your channel:))
Thanks for the tip!
Sink name should be Sydney the sink!
Also, please can you add the families scoring system to your cookbook. On each page you could add your little chart that includes the photos of who voted what ‘S’, ‘A’, ‘B’ etc. I love the idea and it would make it more personal to you! Thanks for all the amazing content - I love this channel! Becky from Poole in Dorset, England. ❤
Yes! We had this idea - thank you!
Happy you reviewed this cookbook! This cookbook was recommended to me because I have had fairly serious histamine intolerance for over 20 years. While I do have some gut issues, my more serious symptoms present like allergic reactions (swelling lips, tongue, hives). Like Woolie, I'm gluten-free and that helps with gut issues (not fun to be a teacher with gut issues).
It's Baba ganoush...a middle east yummy dip
Just because it's made with eggplant doesn't automatically make it that - but I agree it's similar. Either way that's not what it was called in the book, so I just followed that
That eggplant dip is called Baba Ganoush! I thought I didn’t like eggplant until I worked at a Lebanese restaurant and tried it. Now it is a family favorite. ❤ Plus, it has a fun name!
Not all eggplant dips are Baba Ganoush - but I know what you mean. Typically I don't enjoy Baba Ganoush - I find it slimy - I liked this one A LOT.
Name either your sink 🚰 or your trash 🗑️can “spot” because if you didn’t like something and didn’t want to offend the cook you can say “it hit the spot” 😂. BTW the Elf coffee reference at the beginning was hilarious! Love your videos!❤
Thanks for this reminder to break out my copy of this book. You reviewed some recipes I might not have thought to try. It was nice to see Annie appreciating so many of them! (I’ve followed Dr B for years, he pronounces his name “bull-se-witz”)
Turn your avocados that are turning brown into avocado and pea dip. The ratio I use is 1 cup of thawed pease to 2 avocados. Place the avocado flesh ant peas into your blender add salt or a teaspoon of miso if you are salt free. Add juice of one lime, sometimes you might need to add one or two tablespoons of ice cold water to help create a light creamy taste. The peas add that vibrant green colour. This is one of those recipes you need to eyeball and adjust yourself. Spread it on some delicious toasted sourdough or seeded spelt bread and add toppings of your desire, my favourite are the marinated artichokes straight from the jar. Ripe tomatoes also work well. Enjoy
Thanks Jeremy. I’ve had this cookbook for awhile. After this video I took it out for a fresh look. I made the eggy marinaded tofu and used it in the quinoa fried rice. I had brown rice I needed to use so I subbed that for the quinoa. It made a delicious egg fried rice. I plan on having the Trinity Oats tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration to revisit this cookbook. Btw, is it my imagination or is Annie liking more of the recipes? 😉
Oh - that's a good idea combining those two. You NEVER know what Annie will like :)
Ginger lemonade - the pineapple is the second antiinflammatory food in the drink
Great video!! Hi from Susan from Winfield Pennsylvania 😊
Hey there Susan!
Thanks for the shout out! I love all tips on how to find food cheaper, I will be checking this book out at some point. Thanks for the video. The struggle with finding good avocados is real 😅
I enjoyed this book. I liked the Biome Broth (a bit of work, but made a large pot) & I have it in the winter time or when I'm feeling sick. You can freeze the excess and defrost it when you're sick & don't feel like cooking. I also have tried the Turmeric latte & Zesty Chia pudding which are both good.
Spicy peanut stew in this book is amazzzing!!! His book with the four week plan also has some great recipes!
Another awesome video Jeremy. It has been so hot in Scotland that I am struggling to eat cooked food unless it's in a salad. Yummy 😋 food and good that you adapt the recipes so Woolie and others with sensitive guts can eat them. A Peanut butter and jam sandwich sounds good 👍. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤ Jeremy & family.
For the Sink... "JISSHY" (for washing Jeremy dishes) 🤣😂. I'd like to make that tofu egg toast! Lol. And yea... we love Woolie. If she doesn't say "mmmmmmmmm" then I know the recipe isn't an "S". Lol. Ok... Now I want to make that Oatmeal!
A very thoroug amd fair review, Jeremy and family! I felt like Annie liked stuff way more than Ephraim this time!
Use the avocados for hair and face masks 🤩
There is an Italian vegetable medley that has eggplant and I love it. Had not liked eggplant before this recipe
Me too!!!
Caponata?
I have this cookbook so added your families' suggestions to the ones you cooked! Love watching your cookbook reviews!
Just ordered the book using your link. I’ve been wondering about this one for a while. Since I have crohns this was recommended. Thanks for the review and another great video. As usual you and the fam had me laughing several times.
So glad this was helpful!
Hi from Vancouver Island. So glad you reviewed this book. It has been on my shelf for a while and I haven't used it. I added your ratings to the recipes you made. Thanks Jeremy and family. ❤
Hope you enjoy it!
Jeremy...... spell check, baby. Superb 😅
If you want a stronger coconut flavor without the fat you can use coconut flavoring with plant milk
I hate the word eggy, but that looks great!
Sink.... aunt flow 😊
Hi everyone! Been wanting to get this book..🤓😋
Hi Jeremy, Woolie, Annie and Ephraim! I own this cookbook and the medical information in it has been very helpful to me. The eggy avocado toast looks really good! The loaded sweet potato looks good, too. However, the low FODMAP serving size is only 1/2 cup sweet potato per meal, so that would not be good diet wise, for those on that diet, until you know if you can tolerate more without IBS symptoms. I would dunk the brownie in some cold almond milk or eat it with nice cream to moisten it. I haven't cooked from the book yet, but I will be. I am also reading Dr B's first book called "Fiber Fueled". I was lucky enough yesterday to have him answer my question when he was live on "The Exam Room" channel. He is a lovely man and is very helpful. I have been GF for 3 months and do not feel that my IBS (or joint pain has improved ) until I went on the low FODMAP diet. GF is also part of low FODMAP because wheat has FODMAPs. I added back a slice of real sourdough bread to my diet today. Let's see how that goes! Thanks for all your hard work!
Thanks for sharing all of this Vi! Woolie is deep into the book and working on Low FODMap right now. She's been GF, assuming it was the solution, for over a decade. She can't WAIT to try my homemade sourdough :)
@@pbwithjeremy Dr B. convinced me that gluten may not be my problem. I’ve seen many of his interviews in addition to reading his and parts of other books. I hope Woolie feels better with the low FODMAP diet and gets to eat gluten again!
Stay tuned!
I already own this. I’m definitely going to try some of the recipes you made, especially the oatmeal.
I don’t have that book, but I do have Dr. Bulsiewicz's first book "Fiber Fueled", which has many very appetizing recipes. I get the feeling that they may be better than the ones in the cookbook.
That's a great book!
Thank you for explaining your ranking system! I had no idea what "S" means.
Happy to help!
Love your tee shirt!
Available in our merch store!
Ephraim and Annie make some pretty sophisticated comments about the receipts. “Did it say optional” made me laugh.
Haha - agreed :)
White potatoes have to be poked when they are cooked but sweet potatoes do not. I would have added some cumin, chili, garlic and smoked paprika, any Mexican spice
Love your channel, and I'm gluten free too . Watching from Scotland
Hi Moira!
Sink should be named The Pit of Doom
Your wife is so lucky to have you and your kids that are eating it w her. I hope her gut is repairing . Maybe try the Dr. Goldners goodbye lupus green smoothie protocol.
Thanks Billie - I'll share that with her!
I would love a shout out.
I Alex from Bawstin! Jk Boston.
My family and I are in the process of going plant based. I am a lot further along on this journey than they are but hay you meet people where their at and move forward . Please keep the great content coming. Love the show!
Hey Alex! Glad we can be helpful on you and your family's journey. Greetings from Tuh-rana (Toronto)
Hi from Santa Fe, NM! I just discovered your channel and am loving these cookbook reviews! I’d love to see you review The Power Foods Diet by Dr. Barnard. Have a great day!
Will add to the list!
Best avocados and the only ones I buy now are from FarmBoy (Guelph) and there’s 6 in a small brown bag for 6.99. I’ve never had them go brown. I learned recently to store them in water or foil in the fridge (after they have reached the ripeness you want).
Hot tip - thanks!
This is one of my favorite plant based books! Glad you did this review
Also I've made the Ginger lemonade several times and really like it. I use a nut milk bag to remove the pulp but that's just a texture thing for me. I don't like to chew my drinks 😂
Hello from DE
I nominate sink name “spout”
Oscar the sink.
Love the tshirt graphics 🎉🎉
Woot woot - available here: pbwithj.ca/shop/
Thank you !!
Sink name HARLIN!
If they are Woolies pancakes it wouldn't matter how much extra I made unless they are specifically kept for the next day they will not last the night so Woolie I do not blame you for sneaking some pancakes they are amazing
hahaha :)
I want to try the trinity oats!!! Ty for another great review!
I'm trying those tonight!
How did you like those?
I really like Iiked them. I topped mine with blueberries. I watched your favorite recipes video yesterday. Love it when you do recipes from books that I have. I put a marker in the book with your review rating . Fun to see if I rate it the same. 😊
try baking the sw taters w/out poking & you'll get a yummy thick syrup under the skin that won't leak out & burn. tastes like bit o honey to me. they won't explode if you don't poke them because not really a potato, or so I've read!
The yummy liquid under the skin is called sweet potato caramel.
I’m really surprised this recipe book has olive oil in the ingredients! I would’ve thought it was more whole food plant based! Anyways, the recipes are looking good!! 😊
He does use it pretty sparingly through-out must - I was sort of surprised he had it here too.
Was surprised I saw oil being used
@@pbwithjeremy I love how you adapt recipes by using proven methods of cooking without oil where you deem appropriate. :)
Jeremy... as an avocado lover... I gotta say the avocados featured were a bit disturbing. 😂😂😂😂
We got them cheap :)
I’m agreeing with @tanyas.9688
I love avocados, but I wouldn’t eat those.
This is the first video I’ve gotten to watch early as a member of the Mighty Network! I had already bought the cookbook so was very excited for the video and it was excellent, as expected. Now off to try some of the recipes.
Welcome aboard!
See you in the Mighty Network community! Glad you are there!
Some of these sound good. I so wish I could eat soy tofu. Still haven’t tried chickpea tofu. One day. This whole video was super fun. Till the last dish. The oatmeal sounds delish but the sound on the video was horrible! Kinda like scraping a ceramic coated steel pan with its lid. Ouch. I’m still gonna try the oatmeal though. I’m voting for Malcolm as well. Fits. 🤗😎
Have your channel viewers vote on the sink names. Maybe choose your three favs???
Yup. That’s a plan!
Well, you know me, but I’ll play along.

And I love watching y’all. Where else can you get quality content such as asking about an avocado: “Did it HISS?” 🥑 🐍
I’m STILL laughing! 😆
😂😂😂😂
hahaha
Thanks for this review! It reminds me that I have this book and should go back to take a look at it! I have eggplant that I can use 😉! I have a suggestion for a review! Do you konw Liv B? She is a fellow canadian and have 2 cookbooks that are interesting! And also.. thanks for the shoutout 😀!!
Thanks! What are her books called?
@@pbwithjeremy Liv B's Vegan on a Budget: 112 Inspired and Effortless Plant-Based Recipes - Liv B's Easy Everyday: 100 Sheet-Pan, One-Pot and 5-Ingredient Vegan Recipes
Hi Justin, just a follow up to this video, I made the tofu avocado toast you tried (I haven't bought the book but my niece did and shot me the recipe😊)and it was delightfully different. Did you think the black salt made any difference? I'd never used it before, and although I could smell it, I don't think I could taste it! Thoughts? Maybe add more!
Hi (it's Jeremy) I think the black salt is personal preference, Woolie and Annie don't like it, but Eph and I do.
Hi ! I’ve watched a couple of your videos where you didn’t like the brownies, do you have a recipe / video for a great “ S “ brownie you can share? From NE ohio 😊
Hey Kim! Woolie and I liked the Beet Brownie from Plant-Based Delicious by Ashley Madden - but we have two brownie recipes (Woolie prefers the black bean one and Annie prefers to Avocado one): pbwithj.ca/?s=brownie

Hey! Love your content, I've watched all of them!
Would love a shout out to Lesli from Old Town, Florida.
Thank you Lesli!
I agree with E in that quinoa can have a bitter flavor. Unfortunately for me I get stomach aches when I eat it. And yes, I buy prewashed and still wash it again and again. And rub between my hands. Still can’t eat it. A guy thing? Idk
I’ve heard different brands are less bitter. Apologies I don’t know of any offhand. I don’t usually eat quinoa except as puffs for breakfast.
@@inksslinks319 I’m thinking I need to train my guy to accept quinoa. I was able to do it with bananas so I might give it a try but …..If you remember the less bitter brand, please share
Weird reaction to the cinnamon and chocolate. I think that is a classic Mexican pairing. I regularly mix them.
Agreed! I love the combo and our kids have had it a dozen times - I used to mix cinnamon and coco powder together and then cut up bananas and toss the banana slices in it and call it "Mayan Banana" they LOVED it.
I was always told pineapple good for gut. Wonder if that’s still true?
I think so!
Was that coconut oil Jeremy for the fried rice?
That's the original recipe - I always post the original ingredients and explain my swaps - hope that helps!
Thank you!!
Love the idea of a high fiber cookbook, but the lectin and oxalate load in all of this would have me so screwed up gut wise. Is the vegetarian/vegan just because that is what the book is, or are you guys that way anyway?
We're Whole Food Plant Based - so similar to Vegan

I’ve learned painfully that an easy curry is always bland. Guess you can’t shortcut it.
Given that it's mostly about spices I don't think that needs to be true necessarily
Unfortunately the slimcado is not good. May be fine in smoothie but they are not interchangeable with Hass. Too watery, unpleasant. Whoever came up with that was not too bright!
Sir wash a lot
