I am learning blender from 3 months on UA-cam. You are the best instructor and has videos on great topic. You are the best! Can you also guide us on how to create cartoon? Do not tell about modeling and rigging and designing environment. We need to learn how 3 cartoon characters in same frame talk with each other, how they sit in car, how they open door with hands? I will glad if you can guide us. Once again you are best on UA-cam.
I've been an illustrator for a minute and decided to jump into animation. You're the first instructor I've watched on this topic and I find your instructions and techniques very insightful. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. Hope you have a very productive new year!
This is great, thanks, I'm going to have some fun with this for sure! I have a question. I see why you use child of constraints between controls (sub and not sub) since the sub is already parented to the empty in each case in the usual parenting way. When you constrain the geometry to the sub controls is there a reason not to use normal parent/child as per relations in the object properties tab, instead of the child of constraint under the object constraints tab?
I got some weird shifts in location of the geometry when I regular parented it to controls so I used child of constraints like you recommend. When I got weird shifts in scale or location using child of hitting 'set inverse' fixed it right away. Thanks, nice rig, nice animation and camera moves. @@alexonstory
@@StoryboardSquad Happy you got it! Thanks for letting me know. Thanks, I'll be doing more car animation things in a bit. If you have an animation you want to share, I'd love to see it.
That sucks! Yeah car action and jumps can be hard for sure. I looked at Rig a Car addon a year ago and didn't really like it. I just make my own car rigs with curve controls. The big thing when doing vehicle animation is to decide if your going to use a path and constrain your car to it or not. Most times I do not use a path. Using a path may make things easier at the start, but I think it'll make it harder to add detail deviating away from the path. In the case of a jump I would say it depends on the action of the jump. If you can break your animation into a few shots that always helps. Hope that helps!
@@alexonstory Thanks for in depth insights. Using paths is creating a lot of trouble for me as I don't have control over how the car will behave to terrain surface. Your car rigging method using empty objects is great. How can I add a ground sensor that can be key able for the jump to that Rig??? Please add a follow up guide thanks.
after following your last car rig tutorial when i try to move may car with move all control the empty's stays at the same place so how should I make them move with the car?
Hey! Sorry for getting back to you so late! You can hide the empty group as they are not needed for animation. The empty help identify the pivot location and take on the transform data so your controls have a default value of 0. Hope that helps!

That is very exciting.
Thanks Dory!
Absolutely brilliant. So glad to have found this channel. 👌
Happy your here:) If you want to see something specific animated just let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen.
This is my favorite channel, As a newbie I try to learn animation in proper way, One of the best instructor in my view.

super tutorial. one of the rare about camera work. love it
Thanks Ibra!
I checked out your ED-405 shot and thought it looked cool :)

I think it's just preference. Do you think it would make a difference when working with the rig?
