👏8:35* those angles are choice! Very informative video, keep up the great work!
Appreciate it! Always top notch products 🤘
I’m getting ready to buy the Kryptonite level kit for my 2021 2500 Denali, all because of this video. Thanks.
Wish we had the same design for the 01-10 2500HD ucas
Quick question, I saw your video on the 2020 Silverado High Country 2500 clearing 37 x 12.50 Toyo R/T with no rubbing with the 2.5” Suspension Maxx keys. Do you think the Kryptonite 2” level 3 kit will clear the same tire?
What does leveling the truck do? I'm wondering if its something I should do because I have a 2022 2500 AT4 with the Detroit Wreckers Lil Hercules setup, so they install the Fox 2.0 shocks in the rear.
Subscribed. Had that issue as well when I bought my truck. Torsons were maxed out and control arms where sitting on the bump stop. My control arm snapped twice luckily I was going super slow. Just bought bliestins and kryptonites. And lowerd torsons
I been subscribed. Really liking the truck content and builds keep up the great videos JW.
Beautifully said. Very informative. Nicely done JW
Great tutorial JW! Very informative too! if you could do more tutorials about the differences between leveling kits and lift kits and your recommendations on which to purchase.
Great video. Putting kit on a 2019 GMC 2500hd. I recently put bilstein 5100 shocks on thr front. Kit comes with a spacer. Do I need that on the bilsteins?
Subscribed. Keep making great content, the community appreciates your experience!
Thank you!
Thanks man solid vid helped a lot
To add on your video, I too went with the same Kryptonite kit with Fox shocks. I took it a step further and got these 1” diff spacers to help the CV angles a little. Truck rides way better then when I rolled it off the lot. Only thing different is mine is a 19 L5P
Awesome! Thanks for the input!
Please link the Kryptonite leveling kit

Love the channel and video’s very super informative video keep up the awesome work and video’s bud 😊😊
Thanks buddy!
Very informative, thank you 06 2500hd duramax. Gonna buy a leveling kit
The level lift kit from suspension maxx with the UCLA and the diff drop and fox shocks is an awesome kit with a great ride. Also installed the steering stabilizer. Bought from summit racing. No shipping!!!!
Yup! Their torsion keys are pretty unique too
I prefer a lifted truck so the torsion keys are in there Factory position. Awesome video thank you!
Thank you bro you taught me something 👊👊💯
Got the kryptonite stage 3 with fox shocks for my 1500
I started watching all these videos and seeing how they also make other suspension pieces to complete it and got discouraged thinking that the stage 3 wouldn’t be enough to support my suspension.
Awesome!!!! Great video…..👊
Thanks I enjoyed you video and u explaimed well. your good and thanks
I Run CST with Fox Shocks and love em, got 50k and just replaced upper bushings. Uni Joints still good on my arms aswell. 2015 LML ON 295 75 R18 Method wheels & MT Baja Boss A/T
(( GET THE SHOCKS FOLKS THAT ARE FOR 3" LEVELING KITS.))
I went with fox shocks kryptonite upper control arms and bottom ball joints in my 2011 lml hd, person before me I guess had it leveled and kept everything stock underneath upper ball joint ended up snapping off going down the road.
Have been subscribed. I was so stoked to see your BDS lift but then I saw the 14 wides, not my style. Would really like to see the 4.5 bds on some 35 or 33 12.50's on 20 x 10's. There are so few pics and no videos of this lift. I have been fighting the zone 3" with diff drop , 4.5" bds or 6" zone lowered and 2" blocks in rear. I have the Zone 6" on my 03 but I don't really wanna go that high and maybe stick with 33's on my 05. Great channel for the past few years since the white gmc. Thanks for adding soo much value to the dmax community.
There’s more videos of the LLY!
Just got a 2024 and have 1500 miles on it, already want the ride of my 2020 back with the bilsteins that I put on it! Want to level the 24 though cause the rake is super obvious with a long bed, think I will go kryptonite!
Just found you man! Subscribed 🤙🏼

I have a question. I have a 14 Duramax and had a 3” superlift installed (keys and ucas in kit) temporarily to clear tires
then i put a 5” zone lift on my truck. The zone kits come with jounce stops that have a drop down extension but when I picked the truck up they didn’t install them and said they(zone) didn’t send that to them.
They then told me that when the trucks lifted you don’t need jounce stops. They know that I work Offroad all day and I’m worried that if they won’t get that part to me I may break something. So are they needed?
They also left my keys turned up 1.5” higher in front and my cv axles have the same angle it had with the superlift installer 🤦🏻♂️
Great vidio thanks
Have you had torsion keys that were at different depths to level the truck left to right? I installed Rough County after market keys and shock extensions and I am having that issue. I am having some Kryptonite upper control arms installed next week.
This video is spot on. Only thing you left out is how a differential drop helps to correct the CV angles. I have a 2021 Chevy 2500 and I went with the Rough Country 3" kit. As far as lifting the truck all the various brands get the job done. I went with RC because 1. it included the diff drop spacers and 2. it was considerably cheaper than Cognito or Kryptonite. Truck rode great with the RC kit however I tow a heavy 12k lb toy hauler travel trailer and the RC shocks were just too soft. Anytime I hit a dip or a bridge joint the tongue weight of the trailer would get the truck to porpoising. On extreme bumps I even had the upper control arms bottom out on the droop stops on occassion. I have since upgraded the shocks to Bilstein which made a huge improvement in the ride. The truck had a tendency to floatover bumps with the RC shocks. The truck doesn't float anymore with the Bilstein shocks. Although I havent towed the trailer since I changed the shock out I feel this upgrade alaone should solve my towing problem but to take it one step further I found a deal on a set of used Cognito upper arms so I got them and they allow about an extra 1/2" clearance between the arm and the droop stop over the RC arms. The truck rides and drives great. Next is the Cognito Pitman and Idler support kit and suspension maxx steering stabilizer.
Yeah I sure did! Thanks for your input
@@JWMontoya my bad. I must have missed that part. Keep up the great work. Love the channel.
What is the best aftermarket shop option for a 2020 duramax?? Really just going for ride quality on pavement, do some towing as well.
I just bought this exact leveling kit (Kryptonite) for my lbz. I'm having one hell of a time removing my stock keys. Do I need to install the aftermarket keys that they provide if I can get enough height from the factory keys?
Hi nice and easy to understand. Just subscribed. Question I have a Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd gas. Can I still use the Kryptonites? Also could you tell me your recommendation for a nice riding front shock. The wife hates the roughness. Lol Canada toronto
Found some Kryptonite control arms at the junk yard, and a set of bilstein shocks.
I ordered the kryptonite leveling kit still waiting for it to ship but I also got some BMF payback wheels with a 0 offset what size wheels could I run with that looking at 35x12.5 20. Would they rub at all with what you have done with them?? Thanks!
So i have a 2019 2500 hd and i want to level my truck but i also pull a 6200 lbs travel trailer.. is it going to sag in the back if i level it ? Which krytonite do u prefer?
What are your thoughts on wicked leveling kit compared to kryptonite?
Just bought Kryptonite Stage 3 kit with the Bilsteins. Super excited because the guy before me did what he said and jacked up factory torsion keys and it rides AWFUL.
Sup JW MONTOYA I got a question I have a 5 inch rough country lift with 35x12.5 tires will the kryptonite uca fit my 2018 2500 duramax without rubbing uca?
I got a RC 3.5" lift kit and the ride in the front was terrible. I'm cheap af so I just bought kryptonite control arms with the balls joints and man it rides nice now. Do I got a RC, kryptonite mix going on account of being cheap. So like you said I'd recommend going with a full kryptonite lift
Enjoyed your video, very informative. I have a 2004 gmc 2500hd that I put a heavy duty winch bumper on. Adjusting the torsion bars helped a little but still riding on the bump stops some. Question, do I need a lift or would just a leveling kit work?
Leveling kit should work
You also didn't mention that you're overloading your torsion bar when you adjust or install after market keys.
Was wondering if you still would run kryptonite over cognito? Also with the kryptonite could I run 35s on stock and not be rubbing ?
Do you need the shock spacers with the bilsteins? Doesn’t look like the stage 3 kit comes with the spacers.
Hey man I just picked up a 07 2500 duramax I installed a leveling kit and it does have Kryptonite upper control arms but it looks like the control arm is resting on the bump stop any advise?
You show the axle angle is good but looks like they are near touching bottom bump stops how is it supposed to absorb any bumps in that position? Stock my LML sits at least an inch off I would say. I get there is improvement on upper control arm side but at the cost of being closer to the lower control arm?
Thanks for making vid
I bought a level kit from suspension maxx and it came with dif drop spacers...do i need to do that if im only going 2 inches up?
Another great informative video. I watched your other video featuring the kryptonite leveling kit. Definitely going with kryptonite now with the bilstiens. Is there really any difference in aftermarket leveling keys? They all seem to look the same.
Only keys that are unique are suspension max ones
@@JWMontoya have an idea when you will have the kryptonite kit on your website?
Hello, I’m looking at getting a 2024 duramax 2500 and it comes with 275/65/20, I would like to go to 35’s or even 33’s
What will I have to just level a couple of inch in front or a whole lift or just add keys to level etc. I don’t want to go crazy
Wanted to get these for my Tahoe all my suspension just went out hoping Kryptonite fits proper
Would this be good for my 02 z71 Chevy Tahoe? Really thinking about doing this lol
Mine I bought used had a lift kit and well they bought spacers for the fronts and now I'm looking under it the arms are slammed against the droop stops and clanking and my tires are bowed. It's ridiculous. I need to send pics to someone to see wth they did
Definitely be upgrading the control arms on my next truck whenever the prices go down. Torn between a Cummins and a Duramax so I’d be interested in seeing what’s the best leveling kit for a Cummins after watching this.
Good idea!
I used a Thuren leveling kit on my 3500 Ram. Their kit comes with new springs and steering arm. Truck rides like a Caddy!!!
Carli Suspension
The problem with Bilstein 5100 is they don't make a shock for leveling height. I had a pair that they said would work and my truck didn't ride good at all. I found out the shoes were hyper extending. I finally went with fox much better shock.
Have a problem with just my driver side upper and lower ball joints always being replaced don’t have a clue why??. Do torsion bars wear out been told and read and seen videos that They need to be replaced every so often. So I went to dealer because they the only one that carry my bars for a LB7 have a six inch lift on my truck . Any info we’ll help thx
Your not wrong about the bad angles on control arms but the ride quality won’t be effected by the angles or riding bump stops the main issue is the twist in the torsion bar. The torsion bar acts as a spring so by turning the keys up your stiffening that spring the stiffer the spring the worse the ride.
Definitely agree on the torsion bars. But angles and downward travel travel has a lot to do with it as well. I say that bc I’ve run into instances where all we did was swap out the UCAs and it improved the ride quality
I disagree. The torsion bar is installed in the key with the truck off the ground and no load on it. The lift key is clocked to add the lift by turning the torsion bar which in turns the lower control arm down to add the height. As long as you set the torsion bar bolts at the same length as they were with the stock keys you are not adding any extra tension on the torsion bar. So it doesn't matter whether you have lift keys or stock keys, once the truck is lowered to the ground and the weight of the truck is put on the torsion bar it's still the same amount of tension.
Well I disagree with both of yall. Ride quality is a direct result of your tires. Those big, wide tires catch every bump, and hump in the road. Next those upper control only have about an inch of travel. Now those bump feel twice as big cause your frame is now absorbing the shock. Now the torsion bars are gonna be rough anyways. Only way to fix that is a coil spring conversion. But ride quality begins with tires. LB7 for life.
Hey bro I have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500hd I wanted to know does a 3 inch leveling kit void my warranty
I’m worried about ride quality and tow capacity. Any downgrade to the tow capacity or payload? Ride quality sounds improved.
How much angle do the Kryptonite ball joints provide
I got a 2022 2500hd gmc and want to het that kriptonite elite leveling kit with fox 2.0

I just left a comment on your Instagram thanks …. 21 duramax crew cab midnight edition my wife’s truck …wanting to do a level kit I don’t know what the biggest tires she can do without scrubbing I’ve looked at a lot of videos I think the kryponigt kit in my opinion might be the best also probably I’ll change the shocks as well her truck only has 25k miles and when going over a bump it does kinda feel like a trampoline on the front
Hey JW,
I got a 2020 with the FTS 7-9 lift I put kyrptonite Aarms and tie rods on it. I believe it’s set at 7 my question is how do you get it to 9 ? Would adding 2in kryptonite keys get it? I can’t seem to find anything, what to do to adjust at least the front on the 7-9 lifts. Thanks for your time.
Generally keys, UCA, and shock extenders
How do you feel about Icon ?
Great video! The only reason I am looking at a leveling kit is because I'm about to install a 400 pound front bumper on my 2015 Silverado 3500HD dually and people have stated it is needed because you will lose 1-2 inches with that bumper. I tow a 40 foot toy hauler all the time and want to maintain good geometry for wear and tear and handling. What are your thoughts?
I like the stage 3 kit bc fox shocks are worth the switch from factory ranchos. Plus the ride height can be adjusted with torsion keys based on your needs!
Is this better than wicked leveling kits?
I have a hidden lift for towing on my 22 At4 2500. Would this be a good thing to buy for making my ride a bit smoother? Also Which shocks you recommend to give me a better ride quality than the ranchos being that I do towing/repos
I always prefer Kryptonite UCA bc they’re beefier and easier to service the ball joints. Fox shocks if you’re towing
So have a question: I’ve got the fox shocks already on my 3500 dually and I plan on leveling it out however don’t want to buy new ones would that stage 2 kit work with those or would I need to buy the full kit?
Stage 2 should work bc it has shock extenders if you need.

I was told tho that at some point i should just also get new tie rods. What do you think?

JW, will 37 x 12.50 Toyo R/T or A/T clear without rubbing with this kit??? You have a video with the 2020 High Country with those size tires but…it has a suspensionmaxx kit with Cognito arms. Any advice so that I can get 37x12.50 on my 2020 High Country?
Thanks man 👍

After installing the kryptonite leveling kit with the suspension Maxx torsion keys and all new shocks, I am getting a lot of squeaking, the install was done correctly professionally with the correct lube, any suggestions? I have taken the truck it into shops and their comment is aftermarket equipment what do you expect.
That shop would never get my business again with that comment

I bought a truck that was already leveled. But what is the easiest way to tell if the keys are stock or aftermarket while there in the truck?
Look and see if you have shock extenders and see how much of the bolt is sticking out on the torsion keys. If it’s stock, bolts are probably all the way up
Yes sir, great video! I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 HD gas. I would like to add 305 70R 17. Will this work for my truck and this leveling kit, or what is your opinion on a lift kit for my truck? Any recommendations you offer will greatly be appreciated!

I subscribed a while ago you have an answered nothing but I understand you’re busy
Question. If I was to keep truck at stock height. Would replacing upper arms and shocks actually give more down travel?
The travel is determined by the shocks if your control arms allow more downward droop compared to the stuck arms. So even if you have the control arms to allow more travel. If the shocks don’t allow more, your not gaining anything.
So yeah I’d say yes. You will add more travel if you remain at stock height
For a fact YES more down travel probably about 2 inches
Can I run 35-12.50R20’s on my 2022 Chevy 2500 after this install? With no rubbing or trimming? Will be on stock GMC wheels

Just bought a 4.5 inch BDS but Im still waiting for it to arrive. Hope it gives me the ride quality I want. Those Krypto arms are beefy though!
How did it ride with just the Readylift keys?
@@rubes1688 It wasn't too bad, I just didn't care for for the extra stiffness and I drive kinda rough roads so it didn't really work well in those conditions. On good pavement you really can't tell the difference. Freeway bridge bumps were bad though, I could really feel it through the whole truck.
Did you get the new lift kit put on? I did the Krip leveling kit and bil shocks front and back. Rides to rough for me . Definitely nothing like my stock ride. Just curious how the lift kit rides

For lowering, just do drop shackles in the rear. No need to adjust the front.

best way to get the ride quality is get 4-6 lift and install front only other than the shocks and turn it all the way down. ride like a dream
Yeah but ride quality is subjective and not everyone wants a full lift and notice the ride difference
I will if you pull I 14,000 pound trailer. Just do a 2 to 3 inch lift.
Cool
It's all about the angle of the dangle
Wana get a Rough Country 3" lift kit for my 2020 Duramax what u guy think?
Personally like the Kryptonite for leveling kits
@@JWMontoya but what lift kit do you recommend?
I have the RC 3" kit on my 2021 2500. Great kit and rides good but if you tow heavy loads at all you may find the shocks that come with the kit are a bit too soft and cause the truck to porpoise when you hit bumps, especially on bridge joints. I upgraded the shocks to Bilstein and it made a night and day difference in ride quality.
@@maxum3300 did you get the shocks as a set? Front and back? Have a link?

You should let ppl know the height from the ground to the fender on each lift or leveling kit. 👍
To get a true measurement you would measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender. Measuring from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender won't give an accurate measurement as different tire sizes will have different measurements. Factor in 2 identical tire sizes by 2 different manufacturers can vary as well resulting in inaccurate measurements.
@@maxum3300 what are u talking about?🤔 I'm saying to measure from the ground of floor to the bottom of fender so ppl will have an idea of lift on that certain truck because different year/ model of truck will not be the same. Example... a 6 inch lift on a older chevy will not be as tall as a 6 inch lift on a newer chevy 🤦🤷
@@localboi603 that wont give you an accurate height because of difference tire sizes. Take 2 identical trucks with the same lift but put 35s on one and 37s on the other. If you measure from the ground to the bottom of the fender obviously the one with 37s is going to be higher. Read any lift kit installation instructions and it tell you to measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender. This measurement will not change no matter what size tire you have.
@@maxum3300 now you're comparing 35's to 37's? It's a 2 inch difference. So if your truck sits at a certain height on 35's it'll sit 2 inch higher on 37's. It's not rocket science dude!
@@localboi603 apparently it is for you. Think about what you just said. It's a 2" difference. 2" in total circumference meaning all the way around the tire so a 37 is only going to add 1" of total ride height over a 35. SMH. You should probably leave the modifications to a professional.
So what you're saying is that they WILL wear out after 10-15k miles?
That’s what I’m wanting to know
@@bradleybates1624 that means every 2 months for me..., like they say in the shark tank, "I'm out" . I'll keep looking. They aren't that great actually.
@@bradleybates1624 to be fair, I'm glad he's honest and not misleading his viewers.
You’re putting more stress on your wearable parts. So it WILL wear out regardless of the leveling kit but will it expedited the process? Possibly
@@JWMontoya thanks for your honesty.
