I watched this and decided to alter it slightly, by adding 1 egg instead of 2. I also spread on honey then baked it for another 3 minutes, it tasted delicious! Thank you 😊

We, in Croatia, are making the same mixture (except we add full glass of sugar, not just the third) and call it Proja or Prova. I got the recipe from my mother, and I can't believe that is the exact as this one. It's family recipe for over fifty years and I do it at least two times a month. 😊 Greetings from Croatia!!

Wow wow! I normally just pick randomly the recipie and start using them for my cookings. But this is the best, the bread turn out perfect exactly. You cant tell if its cake or cornbread cause my yellow cornbread was super soft. Without a doubt the best recipie I have ever come across, and I will save this as my go to recipie for cornbread. The ingridients, time is exaactly what was explained. Wish I can paste a picture of my bread.

If you pour the batter into a hot cast iron skillet, you get better crust.
What do you serve this cornbread with? Trying to think of what would go well with a sweet cornbread.

A lot of traditional recipes don't use sugar. Try it and see how you feel. You can also lower the sugar level, put in something like 1 or 2 Tablespoons. I personally put a half can of creamed corn in there, which adds some sugar as well as corn.
