I just want to say keep up the good work and posting videos. I don’t think you realize how tremendously helpful this honest and accurate and detailed information is for people it’s not so detailed that you get lost and it’s not so detailed that you get exhausted watching it it’s just enough detail and factual information to make you think about what you’re doing in your body and to your body and in your life and you are so appreciated
I think the most important thing from this video that I have experienced is the stress creating cortisol and disrupting sleep. Try to get rid of stress. Also, my sleep is disrupted by having to pee every 2 - 3 hours from enlarged prostate. Sometimes I wake up to pee and then I'm wide awake sometimes for long periods and sometimes the rest of the night till morning.
This video makes so much sense to me. I worked outside for 19 years and while my sleep has never been perfect, it was much better than it is now. These days, I'm hardly in the sun at all and my sleep is total crap. Thanks for the tips Dr. Berg. Will make more of an effort to get more sunlight.
I would be more careful about giving exact hours, like 2am.....When I fall asleep at 8 pm, I assume it is perfectly normal to wake up at 2-3-4 am after sleeping 6-7-8 hrs....depending on my daily activity sometimes I sleep more, sometimes less, also doing IF of 18-22 hrs fasting period daily, makes the body more energetic, requiring less sleep....( it is maybe too advanced to mention here that pranic people, breatharians sleep very little or none....and they are the healthiest)....anyway always great content here thank you :)
My tinnitus wakes me up between midnight and 4am. I hear a slight click and then the ringing gets a little louder in the opposite ear and I'm up for the day. Always interesting and informative, thank you.
Oh, yes, good sleep is a MUST to me. Thank you, Dr. Berg. I apply most of those tips you suggest and they do help indeed 🙌🏻 In stressful periods, I help with Rhodiola in the morning and Ashwagandha in the evening.
I sleep 5.5 to 6 hours. Deep sleep. During the say I pack in two 5 to 10 min nap sessions. Sometimes when I feel sleep has not been enough I do Yoga Nidra.
I don't know if anybody wants to hear this but I'll say it to everyone reading.. This is why i tell anyone who cant sleep properly or needs to reset their circadian rhythm to go camping. Camping away from lights and away from cities not only has tremendous benefits for mental health, but it will align your body to nature in a matter of days.
That’s a good point. Because of my chicken I have to wake up early, that helps me to be tired in the evenings and my sleep is improved just because of this.
again I want to say your information has changed my life for the better lost 50 lbs after switching to keto , blood normalized, no longer in danger of diabetes - my sleep improved greatly as well - about a month ago I started taking 500 mg benfotiamine and 500 mg b1 along with 1 teaspoon of spirulina daily and the neuropathy my bad food choices caused has improved 80% my feet no longer burn and the shooting pain is gone, still a little numb but my God what a difference! also just started resveritrol from verso , would love to hear your opinion 😀

I have been experimenting with different brands of organic dark chocolate, 70% or higher cocoa, I found myself getting "comfortably" sleepy. Ended up learning I had been boosting my magnesium and sleeping a bit better because of it. & I am one of those who may stay up late, awake just thinking too much.
That is interesting, I eat my chocolate in the morning because of the caffeine and other mood boosting compounds in it. 100% unsweetened baking chocolate, just one ounce. But I get magnesium from other foods too, especially pumpkin seeds and dry roasted peanuts.

I work a 12hour night shift, 3days/week. I have to literally force myself to sleep during those days and the most sleep I get is 2hours. Yesterday I slept for 29mins🤔🤭 Iys very hard to balance sleeping at nights when I'm off then try to program myself to sleep during the days when I work. I feel for anyone who have no choice but to work the graveyard shifts. I do prefer that shift
I was a night nurse for 8yrs and I recommend you get some blackout curtains to make your room dark like it’s nighttime also get you a white noise machine so it can drown out any outside noise that you may hear during the day. Also, make sure it’s cold and try avoid having anything caffeine related towards the end of your shift. So my hours was 7p-7a and I would cut off any coffee by no later that 1am. I hope this helps

I thank U Dr. Berg❤ My problem is that my nostrils shut down when my head hits the pillow. I go to bed most of the time at 10:30 pm. Wake up at 3 am. with slim, I can't figure out if it's coming from up or down. I don't find that it's coming from my chest, but more from the back of my nostrils. That is what is hampering my sleep. This started after my colon surgery in 2020.
Wow! Now I know why my sleep has been majorly disrupted! Had to use an antibiotic, recently and found I either couldn't get to sleep or I'd wake up and not be able to go back to sleep! I love using ½ cup of kefir before bed.. Sleep like a rock😄
Thank you Dr. Berg since I've been doing the 20 day fast for some reason I can't sleep. I'm on day 16 of my 20 day fast of no eating. I sit outside in the sun everyday. I think my problem is my phone, looking at it at night. I tried Melatonin but it works the opposite on me. Dr. Berg is 🌟AWESOME🌟
I think it's the fast. I know this is not science, but when I fasted I thought my body didn't want to go to sleep for fear of dying in sleep. You'll be able to sleep just fine on a full belly. Why are you on a 20 day fast?
I don’t sleep on fasts much either. Your body has so much energy from not having to break food down and your mind is clear in its survival mode looking for sustenance.
When I was on keto I used to wake up in the middle of the night (high cortisol) and could not go back to sleep. Since I introduced some fruit and honey this does not happen any more. Exercise could in fact be counterproductive in terms of sleep quality especially if it's done in the latter part of the day and/or it's too intensive.
I've recently started taking a gaba supplement and it has helped so much woth my sleep. Whereas before I wouldn't really feel tired until around 4 am even after taking melatonin, as I was in a constant state of tension due to the stress I am under, the gaba kicks in about one hour after I take it and I feel like it releases all the built up tension so that I can allow myself to feel tired and go to bed earlier.
Thank you for sharing this info Dr Berg Offering water to the sun is a ritual at sunrise time and looking at the sun rays through that water during the offering considered very beneficial. It’s great to hear the research behind this practice. It makes me feel believing strongly in ancient Indian practices more and more .
First thing on mornings when I wake up, I offer water and pray to the sun. I thank the sun for its bright sunshine as it covers my body with its light and heal me! It was difficult to offer water for the sun in colder climate but I stand and watch as it rises on mornings and offer my mantras and prayers thanking the sun for all of its magical and healing powers!
Another form of light that never turns off that u might never see that cld also be effecting ur sleep is emf radiation from towers, wifi, smart meters and ur own phone. They too disrupt the circadian rhythm.
I stopped smocking since a long time, same for no alcohol and also having a healthy diet. But my sleep problems are on a whole other level... it is really hard for me to fix. At some points I managed to do it, but then it just returns to chaos shortly after. Modern lifestyle and working in different patterns and shifts really makes it a pain.

On some rare night where something has disturbed me( drove up my cortisol levels) I still take a 1mg melatolin and get right to sleep after it's had a chance to dissolve and go to work. Good luck.

Apparently sleeping on your back also is much less efficient at cleaning up your cerebrospinal fluid as compared to on your side. Sleeping on your side very well could be the difference between Alzheimer's/dementia or not for some people.
A couple years ago, I made it a point to learn how to sleep on my back, to prevent facial sagging and wrinkles. Now I've been hearing about the benefits of side sleeping.
Always looking to improve my sleep as we see how important it is to our health.
Appreciation and blessings to you and yours Eric..
Thank you very much. Happy holidays!
Thank you Dr Berg for focus on sleep. Ever since I worked an overnight job, I cannot sleep more than a couple of hours. I really need help with sleep.
Each of his videos on sleep helps me a bit more.
Thank you for your support. I mostly sleep 7 hours a day but mostly light sleep.
His videos on prostate help.
Please make a video on your detailed daily routine and the essential things one must do in a day to be healthy.
Aspects like ideal breakfast, ideal lunch, ideal wake up time, ideal hours of sleep, water, exercise, etc. etc.
And aspects like circadian rhythm, meditation, yoga/walking/weight training/cardio, so on and so forth.
If you search what Dr Berg eats in a day, that could give you some clue, meantime.
This video makes so much sense to me. I worked outside for 19 years and while my sleep has never been perfect, it was much better than it is now. These days, I'm hardly in the sun at all and my sleep is total crap. Thanks for the tips Dr. Berg. Will make more of an effort to get more sunlight.
take a book and go read it outside for a bit everyday...that should help. There's fabulous things the sun gives us. 🙏
For me, positive social connections during the day or especially in the afternoon/ evening, produce melatonin that gives me a good night's sleep.🤗
This is a timely video Dr. Berg! I haven’t been able to sleep more than a few hours the past couple of nights.
When i m stress free i require less sleep. I know once i was drunk and my sleep was completed in less hours than usual.
My tinnitus wakes me up between midnight and 4am. I hear a slight click and then the ringing gets a little louder in the opposite ear and I'm up for the day. Always interesting and informative, thank you.

This is why i tell anyone who cant sleep properly or needs to reset their circadian rhythm to go camping. Camping away from lights and away from cities not only has tremendous benefits for mental health, but it will align your body to nature in a matter of days.
I just went recently and after returning i slept good.

@@experimenthealthyketo83 I have not found a video yet on resveritrol... would love dr bergs thoughts
I drank hot cocoa last night, and had great sleep 🤔
I believe part reasons for my bad health lately is lack of sleep. Going to follow this that I get the proper rest and more quality of life.
Yes. His earlier videos on sleep could help as well.
Keep up the great work dr berg! Great to see how much consistent quality you provide 🙏💚🙂

Thanks great clarification about melatonin by pineal gland by darkness, cellular melatonin by infra red sun light Earl morning and sun set .Melatonin is best anti oxidant and near infra red is more in nature as it is reflected by the green grass and trees .Thank you ,God bless you.
Sometimes you have to look at the big picture. And choose life, preachin' to myself as well. Maybe it's time to change how I think. It's all up to you. I hope for you success. God has everything in certain order for a reason. 🙂
@@brandym2099 I work the 7-7shift as well. I do use an ear plug and an eye mask but sometimes it's just my anxiety. The thought of what my night will be like. I just started trying meditation and hoping that will work to relax my brain. Thank you for the suggestions
@@NadiaZoe1111 I feel you I haven’t worked nights in 5 years and I still every now and then get the nighttime anxiety. I’m telling you all those years of working nights messed my sleep schedule up.

Thank you very much Dr. Berg for your high quality education. Keep up the good effort👍
Dr. Berg is
🌟AWESOME🌟
I think it's the fast.
I know this is not science, but when I fasted I thought my body didn't want to go to sleep for fear of dying in sleep.
You'll be able to sleep just fine on a full belly. Why are you on a 20 day fast?
I can't sleep when I fast either
@@bumblebee4280
I can't imagine a 20 day fast would be beneficial for anything.
I don’t sleep on fasts much either. Your body has so much energy from not having to break food down and your mind is clear in its survival mode looking for sustenance.
Same here! Today is my fifth day of fasting, I'm tired but not able to sleep :/
The free info you give out should be a public service announcement; thank you 🙏
Great explain sir we salute you boss..... Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
In the bed at 11 and awake at 3. Watching this at 5 am. Going to try all your recommendations.
Do not see the hour on your clock or phone, It will create some struggle to go back to sleep.
How much potassium are you having a day?
I've recently started taking a gaba supplement and it has helped so much woth my sleep. Whereas before I wouldn't really feel tired until around 4 am even after taking melatonin, as I was in a constant state of tension due to the stress I am under, the gaba kicks in about one hour after I take it and I feel like it releases all the built up tension so that I can allow myself to feel tired and go to bed earlier.
Thank you for sharing this info Dr Berg
Offering water to the sun is a ritual at sunrise time and looking at the sun rays through that water during the offering considered very beneficial.

Apparently sleeping on your back also is much less efficient at cleaning up your cerebrospinal fluid as compared to on your side. Sleeping on your side very well could be the difference between Alzheimer's/dementia or not for some people.
Do you happen to know who did the study or where you heard this information?
I’d like to dig into it. Thanks!
Exactly, I fall asleep much faster on my side, but unfortunately I always end up on my back.
A couple years ago, I made it a point to learn how to sleep on my back, to prevent facial sagging and wrinkles. Now I've been hearing about the benefits of side sleeping. I naturally rotate a lot while I'm asleep anyway, so I'm not going to agonize about optimal sleep positions, and instead I just try to get 8 hours of "shut eye" every night.
Wow, interesting comment. I naturally gravitate and prefer to sleep on my side.
