The Fastest Civic So Far | 2024 Honda Civic Type R | POV Review

- The 2024 Honda Civic Type R is the fastest Civic so far and it does not disappoint. Many have compared the Type R and Elantra N but the Type R has more performance and more space.
The FL5 Type R is the best looking yet we did get a boost of HP from the last generation so that is nice to but now the Type R looks a lot more mature the most aggressive part is in the rear wing which I love. We also get a ton of trunk space for a normal sedan for me and having a child now this is super important. Usually I won't like a white car with black rims but the way the body looks I really like this white and black combo and I also like the classic red badge.
The inside is a nice place to spend time as well the red racing seats were some of the best I have ever sat in. The suspension is rather stiff but the seats really make the difference here. I also like the fact that even the carpets were red they could have made the rear seats all red as well and I wouldn't have minded. The manual transmission was also one of the best I've used it was so easy to use the throws were short and we also had rev match downshifting. The Type R is proof that Honda knows what people want when it comes to a performance manual

“I’m usually not a white guy”, made me chuckle
I've owned several sporty vehicles when I was single, from 2 different 911s (997 S Cabrio, 996 4S) to STI, G37, TL type-s, Miata, s2000, etc. I will be 40 in a couple months with 2 kids now. I plan on buying this car when I settle a few more things in my life and the family and keep it for at least 10 years.
I own a 2023 911 Carrera and a 2023 Type R. The Type R with small intake and exhaust modifications is such a good package. The 911 is a dream machine and the fit and finish is exquisite. The feel in the car from the engine being right behind you is amazing. Intake sounds, exhaust sounds and engine rumble all at once. Porsche gets way more attention. I do feel safer pushing the type R to the limit on the road but hold back in the Porsche.
@@jamespaul1835 As a matter of fact, I agree with you. I just got fed up with my 911 after spending thousands on repair. At this point in my life, I can't afford to spend money on a brand-new 911. Type-R is realistic and its appeal takes priority.
@@CryingOrc1Get the Type R. I do have a 2025 Civic Si but the daily driving is insane. The daily drivability for the 11th gen civics are amazing. Plus since 2022, there are quite a selection for after market parts.
Intake intercooler, exhaust. It will be a bang for your buck for sure. I test drove a 2024 Type R before riding and buying the Si, and man did I love it. I would’ve went with the Type R but my budget was not aligned.
@@CryingOrc1 I agree with your comment also. I really hope my 911 stays reliable because just the insurance and registration alone are ridiculous. The Type R will very likely be more reliable in the long run. Enjoy
@@bunbaobuiYes, all the different trims in the Civic lineup are very good. I have owned a 11th gen Si and currently own a FL5. For street driving and having fun, the Si did everything I needed. I retired within the last year and bought the FL5 because I wanted something a little more “special”. I was fortunate to get the FL5 and really enjoy it. I don’t do anything crazy in it, but do enjoy the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls in it. That is the biggest difference from the Si in normal driving for me. Enjoy your Si. It really is a great car that is fun to drive. Just don’t get in a drag race with the new Civic Hybrid, because you will lose. 😂
It looks so sharp. I called local dealership for price check today. It's +7500 plus $3000 of fluff. I said nah, I will wait until the end of the year. Thank you.
Yeah that’s a little high I’m sure some decent deals will start popping up in the used market soon!
It is a bummer that there are still mark ups. I live in the midwest and was fortunate to buy a new CW FL5 a month ago at MSRP with no add ons. Hope you can find one at MSRP, because it is a great car.
6:33 why in every car that have wireless charger, we still using wire..?..
I don’t like the wireless CarPlay in all the cars there is a delay when you switch songs that bothers me. Also if I need to film something with my phone the wireless CarPlay will constantly interfere
Make sure you get your steering recall done lol
Not sure what happened to it after I dropped it off!
5:46 fancy looking civic si huh 🤣
Haha I was talking to someone about the SI right before filming that part and I guess it stuck in my head😂
It’s a bounce house
Haha that is a good way to put it!
it was but taking that module from the type S 👨🍳😘👌🏽
@@Night237Yes, damper module from ITS makes a big difference in ride quality.
"easy to keep dirty"??? LOL 😂
Haha I meant what I said when it comes to a white car!
I would take the Elantra N because I don't like to have fun while I'm driving.
over 2 million civics and integras recalled
So what, it's something minor. It's steering worm gear ring that causes the grease to thin and increase the steering effort, big deal.

Oh no! A car isn't immediately perfect forever and has to have a minor fix from a barely issue. Cry more.
Does this involve human trafficing, prostitution and extortion to pay for the markup of the car? 🤔
Elantra N looks ugly and its hyundai lol
