- You've seen how well the Gunboat 68 has performed in light to moderate conditions so can you guess what happens next? Jump on board with Shayne and the crew as they leave the Azores for their final leg of the journey into the Mediterranean Sea to Toulon in France.
After a week spent making repairs to the rudder case and awaiting a replacement blade in the Azores everyone is keen to get the last leg of the journey done. Unfortunately, conditions become more tricky as the wind starts to increase on the approach to Portugal and they have to work out a plan to deal with 50kts forecast PredictWind has warned for the Straits of Gibraltar.

Rock n roll! ,,Going fast isn,t very comfortable plus you can break stuff! Going fast in low winds is fantastic! But get it going slow when the wind is up is the trick!
so happy to finally see some 68 sailing footage, fast sailing looks excruciating though
Thanks great to watch, I like the reasoning for Orca's not being interested in your boat 😂
😂😂 Charter cats are like candy for Orcas 😜

Can't wait to see all the improve...wan to buy sutch cool boat
Thanks for sharing !
I hope there are more gunboat videos soon !
Thanks. Gunboat 62 video coming up soon
Good work! Enjoyed seeing a crossing on the 68. Nothing like a sailing at +windspeed in 10 kts.
Glad you enjoyed the video
Great sail, nice to see this boat in action. Never imagined the hulls would direct so much water to the front cockpit. Can you control sails/winches from the inside or someone has to enjoy the sprays? Also impressed by the way it shakes front to back depending on the waves frequency. Anyway, must've been a very cool experience! Thanks for sharing!
No options for hiding inside. Someone has to get wet in those conditions.
I like both the forward and aft help spots for some reason i thought it had the front one. Oh well, lovely boat, 300 miles a day! Holy cow …
It does have a front helm, it's just inside not out in the front cockpit.
Awesome boat speeds kicks asrse
It's a weapon in light airs
Such a beast of a boat
It is indeed!
How long did it take to cross the atlantic ? To America to France.
So the owner’s didn’t request that their boat arrive in good order? Just get it there as fast as possible?
likely for gunboats multihull show. the show waits for no boat.
Ordered my 5 weeks ago and it got delivered 3 days ago but what I've seen of it, it's the best boat I've owned
👍
wow
Rudders can be an issue. Taking a Conser 47 from LA to Maui we, at about 1000 miles out, broke the Starboard rudder shaft right where it exited the hull. We were able to retrieve the blade tied on deck and took off again. 12 hours later almost to the minute with the same helmsman ( the designer/builder) the second shaft broke the same way.. cheers, Ric
😳😳😳
Are you guys currently in Barcelona? Can I get you a drink as a token of appreciation for your videos?
In the Caribbean this season. Hoping to get back to the Med in time for the next America's Cup challenge. Maybe our paths will cross then ☺️
Have a great season you guys. Looking forward to America's Cup in Barcelona 😄
Uuuuuhhhhhh...I'd like to uuuuuhhhhhhhh......watch this.......uuuuuhhhhhh....but I just can't.
Also, show more of the boat and less of someone's face.
Lucky you turned it off when you did otherwise you were in danger of learning something!
